A lovely little place for a different sort of light lunch - interesting Persian salads, frittatas and other delights. Really friendly, clean and nice setting. Second time visit and will certainly go again. Highly recommended.

The food (brunch), atmosphere and service was excellent; a great little find near Marble Arch. There is also a great selection of fresh produce and sweet treats.

Absolutely lovely food, fresh, aromatic and generous portions. Seymore Store is a lovely, cosy little place, perfect for fusion food, selection of tea and gorgeous coffee. Staff are friendly and very clearly passionate about the food and service they offer. Highly recommend for meet ups.

Me encanta el kuku sabzi. Perfecto y ligero con un americano helado en un día caluroso. Asientos limitados dentro y fuera. Se pone muy ocupado. Personal amigable. Comida fresca y saludable compuesta por clásicos iraníes, desde platos salados hasta pasteles y tartas. Los veganos están bien atendidos. Buen tamaño de porción. También se llevan. ¡Pequeña joya!

Located directly opposite the much vaunted Riding House Cafe, this cafe belies the excellent quality of its freshly made / baked food, much of which has a Persian twist. Understated but incredibly good quality, and value. Highly recommended.

Y hoy (colmo), mi arroz olía y sabía a alguien que había fumado 10 cigarrillos en el arroz y luego mezcló la ceniza con él solo para darle ese sabor extra al tabaco. Definitivamente no volveremos y no podría no recomendar este lugar lo suficiente.

This was our second visit here. We came for brunch late on a Saturday afternoon. Gitane is a small coffee shop with limited seating located just behind Oxford Street. Very cosy with a nice ambience. They are busy so you might find you will often have to share tables. They have a nice selection on the counter of pastries, sandwiches, cakes, biscuits, Iranian dishes and salads or ask to see the brunch menu. I had the Persian omelette which came with tomato salsa, onion, chilli, parsley and sunny side up eggs. I could not decide between this and another dish. The waitress was kind enough to suggest that I go for this one as I wanted something savoury. The other dish I was contemplating was the nargesi which I believe was more sweeter and filling. For the egg dishes, you have the choice of sourdough or pitta bread. I went for sourdough. The dish was delicious. Freshly cooked, piping hot and a generous portion size. Well presented and the sourdough was lovely to dip into the sauce. It was very much like a shakshuka. The one shot americano I had with it was perfect. As I said, this was our second visit here and I can't really fault them.

My first time Gitane. Amazing food, haven for healthy eaters. Great ambiance and friendly staff. Will come back for sure.

Awful customer service. The waiter said I’ll be with you in a moment instead he sat down to have his own lunch. I ordered at till and the guy forgot to give us our order. Also one glass for water when there was two of us? Complete rubbish go somewhere else.

We met up with some family here whilst in London for the day. We ended up staying for food because it all looked so good. The service was great! Our waiter was really helpful recommending things off the menu and were very patient sorting out 8 of us, with at least 4 being indecisive. The food came all at the same time. It was beautifully cooked and well presented. Everything was tasty and I wish we had time to stay for the cakes as they looked amazing. The only minor negative was the tiny, upstairs toilet that some people find too awkward.

Ambiente muito agradável, lanches muito gostosos. Estive lá num Domingo pela manhã, provei misto no Croissant, que poderia ser aquecido e pedi que fosse, mas não ficou tão aquecido. Tudo bem, já que o queijo e presunto usados são muito gostosos.

Myself and my wife popped in at just after 9am on a weekday. The service is great and food, simply excellent (particularly the Persian Omelette).

We came in for coffee for takeaway and ended up dining in. We split the sweet potato salad & the Persian herb quiche. Pretty & fresh!

a small Flat white with Oat milk £ 3.30 is too expensive.the milk it was too froffy .services can be more cheerfull.

Boy what a pleasant surprise we had when we ended up having probably the best eggs in town period, at this quaint little place on Great Titchfield street in Fitzrovia. Beautifully cooked, soft and fluffy, golden yellow, scrambled eggs on lightly toasted sourdough bread with some butter on the side. Its so good we've been going every day for the same meal. Cant wait to try the lunch one of these days. BTW the gluten free golden peanut butter cookies are divine and not to be missed. All this, at a price that is very reasonable and fantastic, friendly service with a smile.

I order from Gitane almost every week. I love their food- so delicious and fresh. They have amazing rice and barberries- the chicken is divine and the salad is always perfect. Would definitely recommend!

We visited this lovely, small restaurant, (a short distance from the BBC) after walking from the Marble Arch area, sightseeing.

This delightful tea / coffee / salad bar is well worth a visit. Wonderful to see such an array of fresh leaf teas. Knowledgable staff and relaxed ambiance. Cakes were good and will try salads next time.

Tuve un almuerzo para llevar de Gitane hace unas pocas semanas. Era bonito, pero un poco caro. Yo tenía un trozo de quiche alubias Ensalada de remolacha francesa y una para ir con ella y se vino a £7. 80, si hubiera tenido 2 diferentes ensaladas habría sido cerca de 10 libras. Sin embargo, El Quiche y ensalada de ambos eran muy bonito y sabroso y el quiche estaba climatizada antes de ser envasado. Volvería otra vez, pero sólo como un lujo y ahora de nuevo. La selección de la comida era interesante y la influencia persa significa que hay diferentes combinaciones y sabores de ensaladas y platos principales. Hay una pequeña zona de estar, si quieres comer. La situación es muy buena, a sólo 10 minutos de Oxford Circus.

Stumbled upon this place during a work lunchtime. I can’t believe I haven’t been before! The food was fantastic. I had the cauliflower tortilla which was tasty. I’ll definitely be back.

El servicio era genial, la comida era deliciosa y muy fresca. Nos encantó tanto que estaban en la zona al día siguiente y regresar para una segunda comida. Si he vivido o trabajado en la zona sería asisten con regularidad a este lugar.

Walking round London, we fancied something fresh and tasty. We checked out all the restaurants in the area and came back to Gitane. Really fresh quality ingredients friendly staff and also packed with workers seeking a quality take out. Thoroughly recommended

Gorgeous Persian food to eat in or take away - and lovely staff. Try the herb kuku. The cakes also look fantastic!

I stumbled on this place just walking past and was drawn in by the amazing looking food I could see displayed on the counter. And it tasted as good as it looked. Lots of fantastic vegetarian options for me. A sweet, cosy interior to top it all off.

So glad we found this place while staying around the corner at a friend's flat. Wonderful desserts and dishes with a lovely lady to help you choose.

Qué gran hallazgo Gitane. Una pequeña cafetería acogedora, con la selección más exquisitas especialidades del día, todas con un tema persas. Un pequeño menú y no puedes reservar por adelantado, pero nunca deja de entregar. El servicio puede ser un poco impredecible, pero no dejes que eso te desanime. Comida deliciosa y a un precio razonable.

Estábamos en la zona buscando otro sitio hemos cogido de tripadvisor y como que estaba cerrado terminamos callejeando por y encontramos este lugar acogedor.

almost hate to review it because it's a little gem that gets more crowded but the owner and staff are terrific and the food- which is fresh and made with care and a med-persian flare-is terrific. Not to mention the very fine coffees and teas, and excellent homemade pastries and savories. When you want more than coffee at Kaffeine, or can't stand the poor service and food at Riding House- you come to learn this is the place to be.

Met a friend for a catch up/ business lunch the staff are fantastic but it's the food which is absolutely amazing. We both had the slow cooked meatballs with saffron rice just fantastic will definitely be back to this little gem.

This place is near a popular coffee venue but if one is full this is a good alternative good coffee and good food

Breakfast was delicious. I had the poached eggs on avocado with salmon. Much friendlier than the restaurant across the street.

I contacted Gitane after finding them in the proximity of an important meeting that I was organising by Oxford Circus.The owner was extremely useful when it came to organising the menu (catering for various dietary requirements) and they put together a feast.We had tachin (for GF and vegeterian audience but actually one of my favourite dishes), lovely chicken, delicious salads and some flat breads on the side.The only thing that I would change is that I would order some of their lovely deserts as well next time.Oh and it's extremely reasonable priced!Everything was delivered perfectly on time and picked up promptly.I highly recommend it if you want to impress your workmates or simply have a tasty lunch.

Such a tasty lunch!! I had the rice and broad bean salad and the yoghurt dressed aubergines with a rose water smoothie! YUM!!!!!!!! Really reallt tasty! Was very impressed !

Three of us visited this Persian bistro and had a terrific lunch. There is an array of food to choose from at the front counter. We chose a main and salad each - mine was the Herb Quiche with parsley, coriander, spinach, spring onions and eggs. There was only a self-crust, so this is a good choice for GF folks. It was also delicious. My salad had baby greens, feta and nectarines with an avacado and lemon dressing. I could have eaten more of that. My companions ordered the same thing: Tachin, a saffron rice cake layered with roasted peppers and spinach - kind of like rice lasagne (but no cheese). The opted for a different salad as well - Carrots with barley, olives and parsley. All good. We ordered at the front counter and they brought the food out to our table. We really enjoyed our lunch.

I loved this place - I sat on the pavement and just watched the world go by - the banana bread was really good, so was the coffee and I even got a glass of water with it without having to ask - will defo be back one day!

Nipped in here completely by chance and had the most wonderful cup of tea. It was the lemongrass and ginger one and my friend and I both loved it.The place was nice, clean and sleek. Normal prices (around £2.70 for cappuccino, £3 for tea). Didn't try the food. Staff were friendly too.

The menu offers a wide variety of mouth-watering starters you would not experience somewhere else. Super friendly stuff and very nice/warm environment inside. It is the favourite hangout place for people you keep seeing them in there and that makes this place even more special. Highly Recommended.

Sweet looking shop from both the outside and inside. Didn't like the smoothies being sat on the counter already made ready to be sold... Good coffee but unfortunately that let them down personally.

I was planning to meet somebody at a nearby coffeehouse but was lured in by the delicious looking food. The colours, textures and variety was extremely pleasing and I opted for the tachin - saffron rice stuffed with spinach and pepper. I took away a slice of a pecan thingy and a peach muffin, both of which were delicious and not oversweet - so important in my opinion. These guys clearly take pride attention to detail with the food was notable. The service was friendly and professional, not over the top, just what it needed to be. The staff are good at clearing plates away, although this is surely aimed at facilitating more seating for the steady stream of customers coming into the shop. My only complaint would be that the coffee was a bit lacking. I had a long black (double shot of espresso with less water than an americano added to it) which was a bit on the harsh side. Not horrible but lacking sweetness. Overall, really pleased and I'll definitely come back when I'm in the area again.

Came here after a brunch with a friend and had avocado, poached egg and smoked salmon on sourdough bread: delicious! I had a look at the different things they serve and there were some intriguing and unusual options such as saffron rice cake which looked very tempting and which I am going to try next time.

This place is always cozy and calm. The staff are lovely and the choice of herbal teas are perfect for mid afternoon break.

I ate here with four friends. We enjoyed our meals and the service was decent. The brunch menu was reasonably priced although it could have been larger. We were enjoyed our warm drinks which included Mochas and Peppermint teas.

I was drawn into this cafe restaurant by its inviting array of cold salads and its chic but laid back interior with plenty of wood and earthy tones and colours. It was quite busy - not excessively so - but the atmosphere was casual and relaxed which makes it perfect for daytime eating or coffee. I went all veggie and my salads were great with beetroot and spinach, spiced broccoli with sweet corn and one of the most delicious quiches I had ever had the pleasure to savour - made of spinach, herbs and eggs (strictly, not vegan). Sit among other like minded Kranks and coffee aficionados (Kaffeine is next door)!

I think most people go here because the riding house cafe which is opposite is full. Not sure where the Persian influence comes from but the atmosphere inside is pleasant enough. Quite small but clean and tidy. We had breakfast of poached egg with ham on sourdough toast and Armenian sausage in spicy tomato sauce on sourdough toast. Both arrived quickly and presentation was good. Food though was cold and I mean stone cold. My sausages were more like chopped up frankfurters and tadted similar the sauce was lukewarm and not spicy. My wife's eggs were cold too. On the plus side the coffee was good as was the service . Maybe we just chose badly. We will give it another go someday

This one is odd. Touting itself as a "Persian" cafe with a French name and Japanese staff! A pleasant enough little place serving unusual flat omelettes (more like pancakes, actually). Mine was topped with maple syrup (didn't taste very maple-y to me!) and chopped pistachios. Savoury ones available too.

a bit pricey for a cafe but really good quality food, i like the little twist they have given to Iranian food making it attractive for office worker's lunch breaks. I like the decor and the atmosphere and the manager and the staff are very friendly and nice.

Good food quality and friendly people. Their sandwiches are great, so for take away is a really good option. We had brunch there and the food quality was great. The salmon with avocado was an excellent choice but my sausage (not sausages) was drowned in a sea of potatoes and onions, if I had more sausage meat would be have been really good. The bread was not toasted.Really nice food quality and nice staff.

This cafe seemed to have the best selection of salads in the area, which was exactly what we were looking for. We liked the Persian style of food. The staff were very friendly and helpful and concerned that we were enjoying our experience. We will go back.

Good for a lunch break, I ate in and loved this tasty food. Unusual flavours, fresh ingredients, tempting cakes and good coffee. The staff were really cheerful. A real relief from the usual generic lunches!

I really liked the look of the menu and food on display at Gitane so I managed to nab one of the small tables outside and called my friend to meet me there for lunch one sunny Wednesday.The staff are all very welcoming and friendly and the sunny outdoor area to the front is perfect for a coffee on a warm day. There is table service outside too, which is very convenient as the place gets really busy inside at lunch on weekdays. The street is quite busy, dusty and noisy though.I would have been better off indoors on my visit. My coffee was served in no time at all so when my friend arrived and sat down at about 1:10pm, after placing the order inside at the till, we expected our food would arrive in a timely manner also. Not so...it took over 30 minutes for them to bring out two chicken and salad dishes. If someone had come to let us know to expect the food in about 20-30 minutes that would have been fine but no one said anything. No one minds a bit of a wait if told beforehand.We felt as though they continued to serve the long queue of take-away customers ahead of those customers who were already seated and waiting. We understand they wanted to clear the queue but didn't expect to have been ignored because of it. I tried to catch someone's eye a couple of times in the hope that someone would come to let us know how long we would be waiting but it didn't work.When the food did arrive, we were disappointed. The dishes consisted mainly of cold ingredients so should have been quicker to plate up. Yes, the green salad was very fresh and tasty but the rice with a bit of herb through it and char-grilled chicken breast was basic and bland. In our opinion, this "Two Salad and Main" dish does not warrant a price tag of almost £10. In fairness, the other salads on display looked like they had more creative ingredients and more effort put into them...I guess we made a bad choice on the day.I would go back at a quieter time of the day for a coffee but would be reluctant to eat there again.

This place is a hidden treasure! I love the atmosphere there, they have amazing coffees and the staff is super friendly and quick, they do go the extra mile! The food is served over the counter, but don't let that put you off, everything is fresh and delicious. The menu changes on daily basis, and all the salads have a little twist, very interesting and yummy.

Gitane is new. The staff are really keen to make it work - they're incredibly friendly. Lunch there is more a snack than a sit-down meal, but don't let that put you off: the food is exotic and delicious. I was sitting there with a coffee one afternoon and they decided I looked a bit lost without a piece of cake - so they brought me one over free of charge!One small point. Breakfast would be so much better if you could get eggs on toast, bacon etc. At the moment it's just cold food off the counter. But everything else is fabulous.

Me and my husband love this place, whenever we're in the area we pop in for tea and cake or a quick snack. The food is quirky and lovely, nice fusion. You can get frittatas, interesting salads, sandwiches all a bit different. The staff and the owner are lovely so it's always pleasant to visit. Lovely cakes.

We often go to lunch here. The filled Aubergine with sesame yoghurt topping is my favourite. And the delicate floral teas are divine. Staff are friendly and the owner is almost always there as well. It's difficult to pull off simplicity, good value and sophistication, but Gitane manages it perfectly.

Gitane is a breathe of fresh air only minutes away from the super busy Oxford street. You can try some of the tastiest Persian infused foods in London. With affordable prices, fast service and lovely atmosphere you can grab your food and coffee on the go or enjoy them in this cosy relaxing cafe.

Nice food and friendly staff. Great if you'd like to scape from high road rush. The food is mostly persian or influenced by the flavour.
