Phoned the order through and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. Still waiting 40 minutes later. No apology or explanation given. Total lack of customer service.

Best fish and chips in the area and because of this it's very busy at peaks times. Although this is obvious when you supply a great product👌🏼

They sell Stella beer 0,5l but delivered 440ml rip off.

Waited close to 2 hours for delivery (1 hour 55mins) , I find this infuriating since I pay close to £5 in fees for said delivery. When I phoned the restaurant I was told it’s on its way and they’re busy. I’m sorry but that’s not good enough, on. A Saturday evening you should expect to be busy and have a sufficient amount of delivery drivers to deal with it. Won’t order from here again, use Guidos from uber eats and save yourself some money, the quality of food is just the same!

Accept that it's a Saturday night and didn't mind the 90 minute wait for delivery but for the 8th time out of ten they couldn't meet the simple request not to cut the pizza is unbelievable. Even worse, when I took a bite, it was cold. Will never order from here again, which is a shame as when they actually bother, the food is alright.

Absolute joke of a place the guy has to worst attitude towards customers , and says some offensive things towards me, someone want to teach this guy a lesson

Great Fish Suppers for nearly 60 years.

Such a shame with the place. First few times I ordered was on a recommendation from a neighbour. And food and delivery was spot on. The last two times though, part of the order has been missing. This latest time, the order took 30 minutes longer than the ETA, and when something was missing they said they’d send the missing items out asap. An hour later and still nothing. I rang the restaurant to cancel the remaining items only to be told ‘well we’re busy so it’s not our problem, the driver is coming and we can’t cancel it’. Such potential and such a letdown. (It’s two hours after I ordered).

Worst chippy I have ever been to, ordered and collected as soon as they opened thinking food would be at its best, my fried pizza was burnt so bad it was like chewing a brick the bottom of the pizza was black and all round the crust was black, chips were cool and most of them didn’t taste right at all, so dissatisfied I won’t be returning again, also bought a 500ml bottle of irn bru to save me having to go to another shop, shops sell them for £1 I was charged £2.50 for a bottle of irn bru, 1.50 more than any other shop, ridiculous prices only thing decent was the cake

Ordered a couple of fish suppers this evening, we really enjoyed them & the standard was first class as it has been for decades. nice friendly staff who always ask how you’re doing !

A absolutely Rubbish and cheeky service from the 2 brothers which run the shop think they can ask you anything about your personal "business" Infront of other customers waiting in the shop. when you ask them about there business they begin to start getting annoyed and start pointing there nose towards the sky and start giving rude answers back. And check your bill total they like to add on anything from 50p to £5 extras onto your orders without telling you why. Spoilt Brats comes to mind. 100%

Due to it being a take away, the atmosphere is limited, however always friendly when entering. Food is good, service is great, never been disappointed yet (30+ visits)

The food is lovely but the prices they charge are a bit expensive. Other chippys in the Edinburgh area are not as expensive as them.

Used to drop in here many years ago after work for tea. Popped in recently and the standard of the food is still exceptional. Fish supper was braw and the staff are great and cheerful as well. Well done guys, keep it up 👍😋🍴

ordered for delivery , 2 hours later its still not here so i phoned the restaurant for them to tell me they dont have any order with my address on it. then i ask where it has been sent to and he hangs up the phone. so unprofessional

Owner called one of his young female staff members a “mongo” in front of customers and then proceeded to make noises a severely disabled person would make?! All because she called the wrong order out. Food is also very overpriced.

Lovely bright, friendly local chip shop. Always good, fast service (sometimes very busy, they work as quick as they can). Pizzas are very good. Love the fish and chips which in our experience are fresh and tasty and some of the best in the area. Good selection of all the chip shop favourites and some Italian extras as well. Fridges are well stocked with soft drinks and a small selection of beer and wine. Nice to have the tubs of Ice cream available for a complete night in purchase. Personal favorite in the chicken Pacora, good big chuck's of chicken.

We had carryout Fish and chips. 03.11.2023 Fish was dry, chewy and tasteless. Extremely disappointed. Also the queuing system is ridiculous. After people placed their order, new arrivals were served before the people waiting, who had placed there order. Need to have a number order system.

Food fresh and tasty. Blonde polish lady is a total hero with amazing expediting & customer service skills. The owner should talk to her better - if he kept his temper it would be 5/5 atmosphere but his yelling makes it awkward for those waiting. Would recommend food from here though

Half a chicken supper, I think you are having a laugh or just being greedy @Giovanni's £9.50 for what is smaller than an average pigeon, add on a £4 deliver charge and a 70 pence processing fee, certainly not value for money at £14.20

Thought we would have a change tonight and ordered pizza and pasta. It was delivered quickly, piping hot and was delicious. Left us with a dilemma though - fish and chips or pasta? Both excellent would recommend.

Best fish and chips I've had, but make sure you just go into the chippy and order as even ordering online to collect they add extra charges on which is anything between £1.00 - £3.00 and never get a delivery unless you like hot food that's turned cold.

Nice fish supper but £11.50 is OTT for a local chippy - It was £9.50 not so long ago. I suppose they need to fund their ever expanding business (new pizza restaurant) but I don’t think the price reflects the quality of food. St Andrews is cheaper and just as nice.

Honestly, fake reviews aplenty on this place that say it's good, it's awful...this isn't from one experience, it's multiple times over 7 years. Has never got better. To say mediocre is flattery.

We had takeaway fish and chips the other night, very tasty, fresh and the batter was just right. This business is run like clockwork, traditional old school Italian family owned chip shop, keep up the good work, highly recommend! 👍

Never had an issue with the food the restaurant/ takeaway it’s self is lovely. But I definitely will not be ordering delivery again. Instead I will be collecting. Spend over 40 pound to witness the delivery drivers TEENAGE son or whoever take a pee in my garden then have the audacity to then bring my food into the stair and give it to the driver to hand over. Which completely put me off my food. Yes it may be in bags and boxes but it’s absolutely disgusting to do. Which would put anyone off but while being pregnant this made it even worse for myself. Spoke to the owner who was absolutely lovely and sincerely apologetic regarding the issue and offered a discount on the next order but 110% will not be ordering delivery again due to this. No disrespect to the takeaway themselves as the food is always lovely but extremely disgusted by this and find it disrespectful on the delivery drivers behalf.

Absolutely disappointing ordered bruchetta topping was in bottom of box which I had to spoon on the soggy bread chips cold never again and they say support local not in my opinion never go back to this place going down very fast fact!!!

Pizza was delicious just how I wanted it

Waited 2 hours for my food, arrived cold and dry, called twice and was told it was on its way when it wasn’t. When I called to complain I was racially profiled by the owner as to imply I was only complaining because I’m Asian.

Very disappointed.Chips tasted stale, very hard,fish was breaded instead of battered. All cold when it arrived .Won't be ordering from them again . Most of it ended up in the bin. Were left hungry.

Pretty poor. Easy ordering and food was quick enough but quality was poor. Breaded fish X 2 - Both incinerated and inedible. Fish cake X 2 - Too hard to bite and very salty. Steak pie - 2 tiny bits of steak. Will be in no rush to go back, everyone was left hungry.

I think most of the negative reviews are from people who got delivery. If you go there and collect and eat it fresh, it's excellent!

I found A long disgusting black hair in my chippy I’m blonde and have short hair so it can’t possibly be mine it is still giving me the boak thinking about it very disappointing I had to bin the chippy

Fantastic food with an amazing range of freshly prepared take away. Gluten free pasta and pizza. The app can be a bit glitchy but personal service is great.

I've used this place a lot b4 but not for a while. I had the fish and scampi recently and wasn't impressed. Fish was bland ( although a good size portion ) and scampi didn't taste like scampi. I would recommend smaller portions but better quality.

Never once have I ever had a 'carry-out' delivered Except tonight. The chicken was FABULOUS (as ever), chips were okay, but generally: Chips from a chippie are 'designed' to be eaten out of the paper! The people that work in here are a team - and back 'in the old days', it was good that they remembered who I was, or what I am: A Photographer!
