Gino's Fish Inn in Northumberland

This is a pretty small "chippy", so there is not much room to wait inside. However, they do take your order on paper and then make your meal in accordance to your order. They do also bring your meal out to your car for you if you wanted to wait there for it after placing your order. Food was good, although the chips didn't seem very hot. The fish portion was pretty big though and was cooked to perfection. I will definitely be using this place again.

Can day it's the worst chippy I have ever been too. There is no communication between staff. I was waiting 20 minutes for my food and wouldn't say it was overly busy. Then when I got the food it was terrible 😔

We both got a kebab and chips to take away. The chips were cold despite being home within 5 minutes. My husband had a piece of sharp plastic in his kebab meat which he discovered when he took a bite of it. He rang to advise them & the lady that answered was very apologetic. She told us she would tell the manager and he would ring us to discuss. He didn't. We're not after any freebies but it would have been nice if he'd called us. The plastic was very sharp and luckily did not cause an injury. Customer service in a lot of places seems to be non existent these days. We try to support local businesses but I don't think we'll go back again.

Went your shop Tuesday 29th October ordered food said they would bring it out that was 7.45pm finally food came out at 8.15pm got home the fish looked like it was from last week my husband's donnar meat was stone cold, absolutely disgusting food and service, staff too busy doing just eat orders.

Struggled to eat the chips. Not one soft chip in the box. The chips were very dry and hard with not much potato inside the chip. Safe to say I'm still hungry as to hard to eat

Omg just tried on a whim, lovely friendly driver then upon opening, massive cod in it's own box then a box of chips separate . Portions are huge and worth the money, piping hot and lovely batter , the chips were not greasy just right. Even read my note asking for a bag of scraps which were in their own little bag. Tried a few since moving here and this one is winning, will be back again.

Firstly the food was average but expensive. Now I’ve been to a few chippies in my time but I’ve never experienced service as bad as this. There were 4 teenagers behind the counter and it still took me an eternity to be served and that’s without waiting for anything to be cooked. They measure out the chips in a strange red plastic tub, then transfer to a box, then they, oh I can’t be bothered it just drones on! I was gobsmacked, just bizarre, they really need someone to manage the place. Anyway I won’t be back so not bothered!!!

Very good food and large portions, prices are reasonable. Definitely worth it if you want something quick and immediate without worrying about calories. Never normally leave reviews but felt I needed to on this one,we chose to g to Ginos for tea today (good Friday)we found one of the staff members was not very helpful at all..with our order we wanted small peas/curry and gravy but was told because it’s Good Friday we could only order large..Don’t no what the difference is apart from more money!then I asked for batter with order we could clearly see there was some but was told she couldn’t get to it because of other food been in the way!chips were like scraps too..might sound petty but it’s the principle.

The only chip shop in the country that has no chips ready on a Saturday lunchtime and you have to wait 10 minutes for them to cook some.

Very poor service received tonight, I was stood like a plumb for 10 to 15 mins only to be told I will be with you in a minute when I first went in, while the workers catered for the online orders, do us normal walk in customers not matter any more, can’t comment on the food although it smelt nice, I won’t be back

Ordered a calzone pizza and the girls that were on said they’d never made one before. Well girls and shad it was delish, loads of filling and was piping hot.

Fab food and even offered to bring it out to the car for me. Chips are amazing and great value for money. Staff were so friendly too. Saw the size of the cod bites and would do me two meals !! Well worth a visit.

Went in on Wednesday 11th oct the staff were amazing, food awesome and will definitely be back, I had the fish bites and chips it was mahoosive, hubby had smokey and chips with curry sauce cannot fault it 😁🤗

You can always park within 20 meters for free. Great if your in a van. The food and the staff are great.

Delivery took ages and food was warm and greasy. Had a far better experience when I collected wit everything fresh and tasty. Shame they stopped the jumbo fish!

Bought 4 fish and chips and lots of mushy peas. Food was outstanding. Staff all in uniforms, all polite. Shop was very busy. We waited a short while but expected. 10/10

Possibly the best fish and chips in blyth once you've factored in price and size, don't have a bad word to say about this place, food is always ready quickly, its alwys hot and tastes lush!

Got 2 kebab butties with chips and kebab meat was dry cold and hard, total waste of money

If I could give it 0 star I would. Ordered fish and chips and cod bites and chips for me and my daughter.. The batter was like rubber and the fish was smelly.. Fast forward to tea time me and my daughter are now spewing up and ill as I believe the fish was far from fresh. Fish only ever smells when it's not fresh.. So for the fish to smell the way it did its been sat there for atleast 3 to 4 days. I will be in touch with food standards. And I hope everyone who thinks of ordering from here doesn't.. Save the belly ache.

chips was hard and pizza was lifting won’t be going back and i wouldn’t even give it a 1 star wasted £22.30

Friendly and polite staff our order was spot on and was still hot after travelling 5 miles home we all totally enjoyed our meal will definitely be doing the 10 mile round trip again well worth it

Ordered a chip butty and large chips .. this is what I received. The bun wasn't even cut with a knife, it was ripped apart. They were busy at the time of ordering, but where is the rest of my food! They were also cold. When placing the order a member of staff was also picking bits of fish out of a portion of chips with her bare hands which then got wrapped up to give to a customer. Unfortunately it has put me off going back to this chip shop.

Thought I’d try their new tiger bread stotties with chips and gravy, the top was nice however they only put gravy on the top rather than in the bottom of the bread so half of the bread ended up being wasted cos who wants to sit and eat dry bread??🙄 not worth the £3 rather just get chips and gravy since the bread was wasted anyway due to this.

Big improvement on the last time I was there the new owners are doing a cracking job.

Been going for a lot of years, had a kebab butty with salad and chips this week. The kebab meat was horrible compared to normal. Might have to give it a miss for a while. Im sure its probably a one off.

Found the fish and chips delicious, you have to order the fish as they don't fry them and keep warm, friendly staff . Updating my review..dont know what has happened to my favorite chip shop. Here last week, the fish was still good, very disappointed with chips, tasted like night before chips...

My go to place for fish n chips in Blyth, nearly always a queue which is a good sign of great food. one portion is just enough to share between to of us. always cooked freshed to order, nothing left standing on the warm shelf. nice friendly, smiling helpful staff to. keep up the great work 10/10

I’ve tried all the chip shops in Blyth and this is by far the best on quality, price and service. The staff are amazing, even when the shop is packed, they always have a good laugh. I can strongly recommend the chicken tikka kebab meat with chip, it’s amazing!

Myself and my 7 colleague's had decided to get a Gino's for dinner, we ordered by phone 4 pizzas, 1 kebab and cheesy chips. My colleague went to collect resulting in waiting over an hour. On her return we have noticed our Pizza's were wrong, we were missing garlic sauce and the Kebab meat was hard and burnt. We normally order from here all the time but due to this experience i feel we will be hesitant due to how long it takes and our order being wrong

Visited yesterday for the first time. Got 2 pizzas and 2 fish and chips. The place is clean, well presented staff, happy environment, very reasonably priced. Outstanding. 10/10 Keep it up.

Called in the other night, fish was tiny and the peas were off, realy sour . reccomended as well but would rather travel along to Seaton sluice.

We have tried all the chip shops in Blyth but Gino's is batter by far, when you have 5 fussy kids it is hard to please them all, unless I go here, they all love it and we do too! This recently took over and refurbished eatery really is the Cod Father of Blyth, the staff are always friendly and well presented, Service with a smile is defiantly on the menu, but what about the food? Well all the fish is cooked to order, so you know it will be piping hot strait out of the box, the chips are also spot on and batter can be added if you ask for it.... Our kids love the sausage and chips, with lashings of curry sauce. Gino's really is the plaice to go for Fish and Chips in Blyth, keep up the good work folks.
