Gino's in Lincoln

We visited for a birthday on NYE. Food was delicious. We ordered Pollo Masala and the chicken/rib combo. Not sure why people have complained about portion size, they were fantastic. Food was piping hot and came quickly! We also had desserts, the crumble was tasty - little hints of cinnamon too. The profiteroles were also really good. We love coming here for special occasions. Staff were friendly and service was great! We’ll definitely be back!

We went here for a meal on a Friday night, a few people already eating. We ordered a garlic bread which at £9.95 was hugely overpriced and wasn't the best... Onto the main course and ny dining partner ordered pasta with salmon and prawns at £15.95 , she said it was just edible at best. I ordered an Americano pizza which arrived with the pizza dough RAW. The waiter agreed it was very undercooked amd it got sent back to the kitchen, 5 minutes later and they brought it back still way undercooked and RAW. I gave up at that point and asked for the bill. How this place is still open I hsce no idea. We won't be going back again. My advice is order a takeaway from PAPA JOHNS

En el menú de bebidas se indicaba claramente que se disponía de copas de vino de 125 ml - es un requisito legal ofrecer tamaños de 125 ml que muchos restaurantes tratan de ignorar. Sin embargo, cuando pedimos vasos de ese tamaño el camarero dijo que no se podían servir porque no había una medida disponible! Cuando señalamos que Prosecco, que él confirmó que ofrecían, y otros vinos espumosos siempre se sirven en 125 ml de tamaño, dijo que lo servían por copa, por lo que no podían medirlo de esa manera. También dijo que no era el propietario, etc. Efectivamente no podía ser molestado así que salimos y fuimos a un restaurante más cliente - amigable y legalmente - operando (Hobbsons) . No volveremos.

Very disappointed. Garlic mushrooms did not taste of garlic. No bread to mop up the sauce. Had to ask for bread. Pizza was acceptable but not brilliant. Cost £45 and we were still hungry.

I can only assume this place has changed ownership or chefs, we have visited this place several times over the years but granted haven't been for a couple of years, it used to be an authentic Italian with food full of flavour. However after visiting yesterday we will not be making the hour journey just to eat here again. What seems to be a restaurant run by uni students. We were seated at the top of the stairs right infront of the bar, for our whole meal there were staff members keep going to the bar and stood too close while we were trying to eat. The food was ok, nothing like we were expecting from previous visits, the garlic mushroom starter was just mushrooms in a bowl of soup, no bread (I'm sure it was served with bread previously) the mussels pasta was very bland tasted almost like melted butter on pasta with mussels left in shells which I had to dig out and search for sharp blades of shell before I could eat. The spinach pasta was ok but very hot like it had just been pinged from a microwave, the garlic bread was good though. I didn't appreciate the service charge added at the end without prior warning so I asked them to remove it then was made to feel uncomfortable by the remaining staff stood crowded at the bar area. What once was a little hidden gem seems to have gone downhill massively. I'd compare this to a standard chain Italian restaurant now!

Visitamos Ginos anoche. Tuvimos entrantes, red y desiertos. Hubo un pequeño problema con el entrante, mi esposa tenía las setas, eran más bien saladas, tuvimos unas palabras con el camarero que las tomó de vuelta (sin dudarlo) , a los pocos minutos estaba de vuelta con un tazón fresco de setas. . Mi esposa tenía la boloñesa como su principal y lo disfrutó mucho, tenía chicle y helado de fresa - helado para el desierto que era igualmente bueno. Tenía el salmón y la pasta de langostinos, este plato era algo que normalmente no me gustaría, pero me alegro de haberlo hecho, solo wow, un montón de langostinos, pasta y salmón. Tuve el panna cotta que era absolutamente increíble. Ambiente agradable, gran servicio y buena comida. ¡No te decepcionarás!

Took a short trip to Lincoln, and found this gem of an Italian restaurant here. No complaints here, just pure compliments to the chef and wait staff. Delicious food, to say the least!

I was one of a party of fifteen who ate at Ginos this evening to celebrate a friend's birthday. Food acceptable, good sized portions, the young waiter was friendly and very competent. Deserts were very impressive and the coffee was excellent. I am, however, always unimpressed when a service charge is automatically added to a bill - It's presumptious and I much prefer to make the decision to tip or not, and to do it in cash to the individual, ensuring that the money doesn't disappear off away from front of house staff to owners, etc....! The waiter did deserve being tipped well for his good service. The one big problem was that we were seated upstairs and it was unbearably cold, the hearing having not been turned on, which was a bit surprising. Several of our party complained about being so cold, but the radiators remained off. Thus, we all ended up sat in our jackets and scarves which was not acceptable, and rather than staying for more wine, we left to go somewhere less chilly.

I probably would have given it 3 stars but we ate there a few hours ago and now we're both feeling a bit off. The food tasted ok, we both thought that what we had wasn't prepared fresh and almost certainly used prepackaged ingredients, and my wife suspected hers had been microwaved. That wasn't too bad but it was reasonably expensive for what it was. The service was fine, considering the chap that served us was quite new but then again, we were the only people in there when we first walked in.

When we go to Lincoln we always take in a meal at Gino's. It's got a lovely family atmosphere and the food is cooked to order and great value.

Average food and very expensive Pizza, Fries 2 Coffees and 2 scoops of ice cream £38, 10% service charge just added to the bill, Ice-cream charged at £3.95 a scoop. Never again

Ordered a pizza and chips on Saturday afternoon. The ketchup and chips seemed to be of very low quality. Edible but felt like a supermarket own brand, however the pizza was good and we enjoyed it. However we would NOT come back to Gino's because they add an automatic service charge onto the bill without any detail of why this 10% has been added, just a mere '10%' at the bottom of the receipt which one has to assume this was for the service charge. This is very stealthy and I do not agree with an automatic service charge unless it is clearly stated and for tables of 6 or more. Tips and charges linked to service should be discretionary or should be clearly highlighted that this is how the restaurant operates.

Disappointing food and service very slow.

Staying at a hotel at the top end of Lincoln near the cathedral we looked around for places to eat, we both like Italian so after reading reviews we booked a meal at Gino's, there were plenty of seats on offer so we were able to sit where we wanted really, the menus were on the table and about 5 or so minutes our order was taken, please be aware as we read reviews first before booking there is a set 10% service charge on top of your bill cost although we could not see where this was even mentioned prior at all...so don't be surprised if you meal costs a bit more than you bargained for, it's no massive issue but it would be nice to let people know first...anyway our starters were brought out and were very presentable and equally as tasty, and shortly after we finished...our main meals came and again tasted nice and the food was piping hot... overall a nice meal with prices for 2 starters and 2 main courses with 1 side order and 2 soft drinks costing around just over 60 pounds with the set charge of 10% charge on at the end it was about 67...if you want an nice Italian meal with a cathedral on your doorstep then pop in I'm sure you won't be disappointed....just be warned about the cost as it may be over your budget...

Never been despite visiting Lincoln on several occasions. The place buzzes and is an instant delight. Lovely freshly prepared food. Great staff too.

Booked last minute for an early dinner as we were in town to watch the Strolling Skeleton Parade. Great service, lovely food. The child’s portion of spaghetti bolognaise was huge and very tasty. My daughter had a pizza which was fab and my wife and I had lasagna which was excellent. House Red wine was really good (could have had a few more glasses!). Good value I thought at £95 for starters to share, mains, side salad and drinks Inc 10% tip.

The first time I have been to Gino's and let's say the hype was not met. The food was lovely, but the service and atmosphere was lagging. The bail was busy as something was on at the cathedral and it felt like it was under staffed... The plates were stacked up in the kitchen you could see as you went to the toilet.... Waited 30 mins for coffees at the end of the meal. Ended up telling them to leave them as we had to be somewhere.....

I visited on a Saturday night and walked in. They were incredibly busy, but managed to find me a table quite swiftly. The table was cosy and well positioned. The service was good and very personable. I ordered the Hot Garlic Mushroom starter and the Carbonara. The starter was tasty and there was plenty of it - but, the carbonara was plain with very little taste. I was expecting a lot better.

Amazing place to eat great food and great service

The food is a disappointment to what Italian cuisine is. Ordered a chicken dish, it was not marinated at all, the sauce tastes like store bought barbecue sauce. Pizza is truly bad, tomato sauce tastes like store bought tomato paste. It felt like food someone who has zero experience in cooking would cook. Truly a disapointment. If I were Italian I would really feel ashamed of this restaurant.

Food wasn’t bad but did not taste exactly like authentic Italian and the muscles did not seem fresh.

Was a nice classy establishment, shame the same couldn't be said about the company I took - but rest assured my taste in dining is better than my taste in romantic partners. Waiting staff were quick and efficient, just like the downfall of my romantic life. I'd highly recommend Ginos, but I'll be more selective of my date next time. Thank you Ginos!

We'd been here on previous visits to Lincoln, but I doubt we'll bother to visit again. The staff weren't especially welcoming, although they were polite. Food was OK, but nothing special, it was piping hot and service was quick. We used to look forwards to our visit here. The place looked tired and needs something to make it special again.

Gino’s is a fantastic Italian restaurant! The calzone was the best I’ve ever had—perfectly baked with a delicious, hearty filling. The chocolate tart was equally impressive, rich and decadent. From start to finish, the meal was a delight. Highly recommend!

Girlfriend was driving, so had a tap water, the biggest beer they do is £8.95 and only 500ml (not even a pint) so i had a water too as the coke sizes are also tiny, about 200 something ml. Then overheard that we were a waste of time. Sat us next to the kitchen window despite being empty at 6 on a Saturday. Didn’t ask how the food was, or if we wanted any sauces for the table. Won’t be returning

Wonderful food and a lovely place

Meal average at best - pleased I just ordered a main course and not starter and dessert as others in our party had. Drinks outrageously expensive and service charge is a joke - AVOiD and go elsewhere.

The food and service was excellent, but I'm not sure why they decided to seat everyone packed tightly together when there is ample space upstairs. I'd assume it is for ease of service, but it would have been a better experience if I wasn't too close to the other tables.

I have had the worst experience at Ginos Lincoln tonight,it was our wedding anniversary, so we thought we will go there to celebrate. After we sat down and order our drinks were were hoping to have a nice meal, we have ordered starter which was very poor presented, few olives in the bowl and 3 pieces of bread, then the main have arrived.... I have ordered a mashroom risotto which has no taste, was very blunt and horrible, during our dinner no one from staff came to us and ask if everything is OK and if we enjoying the food and in the end we have asked for bill again no one asked if we enjoyed our food. We have paid over £80 for something that tastes worse than microwave dishes. Will never return to this place again!

Friendly staff ands nice atmosphere. The food is very good and good sized portions.

Apprehensive about going here after reading reviews but Son wanted to go for his birthday. Food was excellent, we had pizza, chicken with rosemary, lasagna and a pasta dish all arrived well presented and fairly quickly. Restaurant was really busy, all staff were very pleasant. Dessert, tried the tiramisu, it was superb. Optional 10% service charge, which we paid as good service. Only gripe was the toilets didn’t look clean. I decided to wait until I got home. Definitely worth a visit though.

Absolutely excellent experience visiting here for food! Walked in off street, no booking. Excellent service and friendly welcome. Good menu choices. Food cooked fresh and to order. Good presentation, tasty and great portion size.

Very dissappointed. My son had a pizza and it was fine. I had the mushroom risotto and got food poisoning. I'm guessing someone needs to be more careful about rice temperatures - it's made very clear in the most basic food hygiene courses. This was a week ago. I have phoned and was told to email. I have emailed and contacted them though the website. No reply, so I'm leaving this review.

Quite a nice Italian restaurant, but a bit expensive and we were not expecting a 10% service charge automatically added to the bill. Margarita pizza was very nice. Pollo a la creme was a bit bland. I think it needed more cream, and the chicken looked pale, as if it had been steamed rather than grilled and was a bit tough. I think grilling would have given it more flavour. Fries were tasty and salad very nice with a tasty dressing on.

Multi reviews Day time visit, Sion as the doors opened, great service so friendly, got a standard wheel chair in but I feel with good communication with them at busy times they would accommodate the space for larger chairs. Food amazing. Very friendly, good communication. Ask him for recommendations. They're happy to share and they also tried us on a new drink at the end of the meal. I don't know if it's like a pallet cleansing drink but it was lemon. It was fresh. It was lovely. Little bit strong lol but wow Visit again... 2024 did a lunchtime visit and wow was lovely, really nice. Felt like a personal service, food as always. Hot full of flavour. Good size portions. Fantastic evening. In short .... Lasagna, vegetable pesto pasta and carbonara. They do have the proper names. Lasagna was a good size made in the traditional way. Full of meat which isn't all the case in a lot of places ... Gino shows them how they should be made full of flavour, they didn't kill it with cheese. The veg, pesto pasta - daughter is a fussy one and worse with textures but the good is just right ... Full of peppers packed with flavour. Again a good size portion. Carbonara... Creamy pots with flavour. Lots of bacon. Really good size portion. If you're going to go, go hungry... Where did it get out of garlic bread fries . Food piping hot. I have to say I feel we paid the right price for the food. The venue was clean and the staff was attentive. One thing would say is they could loose a table or two just to off a little more space I know it reduces foot fall but you did feel a little sat on down stairs. The number of times ppl caught my chair or rubbed past.... if you was of any size some areas down stairs may make you feel uncomfortable. . Don't let that out you off it's worth going x

I have been to Gino's a couple a days ago, and I had the best experience! The place is great, and the food is amazing. The real highlight is the staff. They turn your night into a unique experience. We had Paulo as our waiter and he is thoughtful, friendly and an outstanding professional. Hats of to the restaurant.

Came to give this restaurant a try as i heard many good things but left disappointed. I felt it was very overpriced for moderate standard food. My spaghetti cabanara tasted like a warmed up microwave meal. My husband enjoyed his pizza though. Was clean and looked nice but a weird route through the bar to get to the toilet. I wouldn't go back I'm afraid.

My parents went today from a recommendation and someone told them beforehand that it’s good food however to be careful to check the bill as they add items you didn’t order onto the bill, so comes the bill they have added 60+ pounds of extra items onto the bill. food was nice but seems bittersweet

Do not come here if you want an Italian experience. Sharing is prohibited. Zero star if I could. We ordered a pizza and a starter for a light lunch but were told sharing is not allowed. So we paid for our drinks and walked out, cutting the losses at this point. That is not a good representation of Italy and the Italian friendly sharing culture/ cuisine whatsoever. Shame on you.

Warning all sharing prohibited. We planned on sharing a starter and a main. Now the whole point of Italian cusine is big plates of food for sharing but as this place doesn't allow sharing we didn't order.

Went here for dinner on Wednesday with the family (including 2 children). The place hasn’t changed since we visited a couple of years ago. We usually go to Dough Loco which is excellent but we fancied a change so thought we’d give Gino’s a go as my husband had fond memories of eating here when he was a child. The meal, service and atmosphere were ok, nothing special unfortunately. The food came quickly and was hot, the garlic bread starters were very good, the pizza's were decent but not as good as we’ve had elsewhere. The chicken was cooked well but the sauce wasn’t to my liking. Chips were nice and very big portions. The deserts were home made although my pancake was slightly overcooked and chewy but the filling and chocolate sauce were tasty so I didn’t complain. My husband said the crumble was good but not a patch on the one he had at the Duke William hotel on the Bailgate. We were just underwhelmed by the meal and whole experience. It’s a shame really as we had high expectations having been before. Sadly we won’t be going back as it’s not for us, we shall stick to our usual pizza restaurant which never fails to impress us. I’m sure some will think the food is lovely here and it certainly isn’t bad, it’s just a bit average and for 4 people it was £125 with a service charge included so definitely not cheap!

Visited this restaurant after a day of sightseeing. It was very busy and we had a slight wait for our table but we were a walk in booking. but service was swift. The location is brilliant right in the heart of Lincoln. Sam our server was very friendly, service was swift. The food was exceptionally good. Value wise it was OK - I do think you pay for the position but we were very happy with the meal. If you love Itailian food go here. My steak was excellent too.

BEWARE,10 of us dined in,good food,good staff,grandaughter paid for total,and we paid her day after,only to find a £25 surcharge added without consulting us,i even left a £5 tip.Rang to complain,left message,same day after with txt,no answer.Sad but wont be going again,especially as we could have resolved the problem.

I was here when it opened many years ago, life’s circle has brought me back to live in this area and had to visit here. Was not disappointed, lovely food and great service, will be back now we are again local. Prices are what they are these days, no complaints here.

No finger bowl for seafood even when asked , my main meal was tasteless and even though I left most of it , it wasn’t even questioned when plates were cleaned , not cheap and not nice , don’t bother

The place itself looks a little tired; a Ferrari sign stuck up here and an Italian poster there, not giving you much of an Italian atmosphere to start with. The two of us had pizzas (pretty good) followed by two scoops of ice cream (gelato it aint) and that, accompanied by a mediocre bottle of NZ SB added up to a bill of £70.13, including their added 10% service. I would say the restaurant is expensive for what it offers, but as it seems to enjoy a monopoly in Italian food on the hill I guess they get away with it.

This is the worst Italian restaurant I have ever been to. The staff were inattentive and had a couldn’t care less attitude. The food was a disgusting mush of pasta. I ordered penne arribiata, which was well over cooked. Had a bland tomato sauce, no garlic or chilli with some small cheap slivers of salami. We asked for Parmesan which when it eventually arrived was already grated in some sort of jar dispenser. On requesting black pepper we were told it was on the table already ground to a powder in a glass pourer. The garlic bread we asked to be served with the pasta was disgusting. No garlic or oil. Just watered down tomato purée. The base was equivalent to a cheap version of frozen supermarket pizza base and was anemic looking pappy dough which was inedible. The staff didn’t check that our food was ok and I had to call them over. The manager came and said he would take my pasta off the bill. However the couple at the next table heard me complain and had also had the arribiata. They had the same opinion as me. They objected to the 10% additional service charge and ended up leaving paying only for their drinks. When we went to pay we also had been charged for the inedible garlic bread plus drinks and 10% optional service charge. I didn’t cause a scene we left the money for our wine and promptly left. An experience I won’t forget for all the wrong reasons!

Delicious food right in the centre of Lincoln. Didn't book but it may be busier at other times. Easy wheelchair access with only a little difference between the road level and the floor level inside. A bit of confusion about one meal order but they sorted it very quickly. Highly recommended.

The pasta was excellent in fact the whole meal was good, the problems was the two male waiters hovered close to the table’s guest where seated at and talked together the entire time we were there plus our wine was served in glasses more suited to beer drinking, expect to pay a considerable amount more than is suggested.

We ate here on a recommendation from a friend. Didn't book but they had a table free. A bit of confusion about one order. We ordered the pasta dish with mussels and only mussels were delivered but the manager very quickly sorted it out so we were very happy. A very reasonably priced meal.

went there for my wedding meal with guests of 20 and everyone was absolutely thrilled. Not only was the food outstanding (as always) but the staff was extremely lovely and brought the food out altogether with no delays. Very very pleased and definitely got some people wanting to come back after it was their first visit

I’m still in shock that a prawn tagliatelle cost 32.95 ?? And it was average at best. Below par for any restaurant, just because you are in Bailgate does not mean you can rip people off ( I’m local) I don’t know how you survive with your prices and average food.

My Partner Karen and I went here last year, We had food here it was ok not worth the money I payed for 2 meals and drink, we were trying to walk around the Castle wall we have been here before but it has rained all the other times we have been here

It’s been a few years since our first visit which was great, so thought we’d try again. Lovely atmosphere, plenty of choice on the menu. Attentive staff. I received the wrong main course as the waitress had written the wrong one down when taking the order. This was speedily rectified and both mine and my husband’s meals were really tasty. We weren’t charged for my meal due to the error, which I wasn’t expecting. Will visit again next time we’re in Lincoln.

Unimpressed. Not been for a few years and thought we would give a return visit a go. Garlic bread was over cooked, spaghetti Bol and carbonara were clearly reheated and dumped on plate. Bland. Service was surly. Better food and service is s available in big chains for less money. We won’t bother returning.

Had a meal at this Italian last night which wasn’t very good at all ,the starter was very poor the main meal (steak )was tough and overcooked not what I asked for ,my partner had mussels they were very small some shells were empty the sauce was tasteless as was the garlic bread altogether poor quality food. I should have complained but I dont like making a fuss, needless to say won’t be returning .

Called on a Saturday night but hadn’t booked however we were greeted with a warm welcome and shown a table. Service was relaxed but not slow . We went for two main and two dessert . Both mains were hot tasty and full of flavour , desserts were rich and creamy . Nice atmosphere reasonably priced , would recommend

I love this place, the food is amazing - really, really delicious. But there is a VERY rude waitress - I am pretty sure her name is Lydia - who on the 3 occasions I’ve been in, has ruined our experience. The last occasion she gave our reserved table away and when I arrived for our reservation she couldn’t care less. We were on time and regulars. Dismissive and rude, like I was the problem. I’d give this place a 5 out of 5 but that member of staff is a problem.

We had an amazing evening for my sons 18th birthday, lovely food service and drinks, nothing was wrong and food all came out together.Well done Gino's for serving fifteenth of us fast and correctly with a smile. Can't wait to go back many thanks xxxxx

Worth the walk up Steep Hill for! I was not prepared for the steepness of Steep Hill and we were a few minutes late for our booking as I had to stop to grab my breath. By the time I got to Ginos I was starving, and I’m glad there was a generous menu to start with. We shared the garlic cheese pizza (delish!) and my bruschetta was spot on. Full of flavour. I tried the calzone and I wasn’t disappointment, my partner had the risotto. Rounded of with the house tiramisu (I’d have happily had a bucket full, super tasty). Both of our serving staff were very pleasant, previous reviews suggest they could be more engaging, but I prefer a calmer waiting staff. As for not announcing the food, I’m quite capable of firstly remembering what I ordered and secondly knowing what bruschetta looks like. Overall perfectly happy with the atmosphere and food. A very tasty treat indeed!

Have been a couple of times in the last fortnight. Once as a couple and twice with friends so feel we have a rounded view. Firstly the staff are excellent, professional but sufficiently distant, engage them and they respond, indicate you want distance and they respond accordingly. The food on all 3 visits was excellent and over 3 visits we had tested that menu. No dish was unsatisfactory. Wine was also particularly good. Pleases to note that the discretionary service tax was actually paid direct to staff. Would recommend.

Great restaurant. We’ve visited it loads of times now and always go when we visit Lincoln. Good food, good red wine and a lovely atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.

1 We visited your establishment on 10th April 2024 after seeing that you are always busy and thinking that you must be a good Italian to visit. When we arrived it was fine and we got a table straight away! We order two mushroom starters which was over powered by pepper no garlic at all, when the waiter put it on the table there was no conversation from them to say what it was. When the started came the waiter was improved however, the carbanara had no taste to the sauce, the salmon dish was over cooked and the sauce congiled as it was been eaten, when we asked for the bit and asked if everything was ok, we expressed our concerns and the response we got was it that it sir. I’m sorry but £83 pound for what we had was not acceptable, however no one seemed to actually care what we thought or had to say. The best part of our meals was the white wine which we had. I found the services unacceptable and the food was just as bad! I hope you do not treat all customers this way.

Overpriced food vs quality, rather got a takeaway than pay £80 for poor meal , definitely thumbs down

My family and I have been enjoying the food at Gino's since June last year. Last night they put a wheelchair user upstairs after being prewarned at the time of booking. The food was dry and tasteless and was warm but not hot. The staff were very inattentive. Once we had our main meals, we were not approached by any staff to adk if we required more drinks or ask how the food was until we were ready to leave. We were placed next to a party of about 30 people who were celebrating an anniversary and were so loud we couldn't hear each other, even with shouting. I felt the staff were not interested in our small party and only showed interest in the larger group. In conclusion, a disappointing meal, in a loud atmosphere made for a very uncomfortable and horrible night.

Worst ever Italian restaurant I’ve been across UK. A supermarket ready made Italian pasta would taste better. All pre-prepared food just warmed up. Pasta and veg were all soagy and tasteless.

A very pleasant evening last night for my mother and father’s golden wedding anniversary. Been dining here for over 30 years since Tito was there, unfortunately the service was not up to standard and a bit erratic. Gave me a bill for £443 but due to my honesty was actually at over £950, no qualms but we were seated too closely to another party that I understand caused some conflict. And some disturbing scenes and behaviour. Shouting at children should never be accepted. It upset my daughter so much as she doesn’t like aggression, you ran crying to me as I was sorting the bill. No approach from ANY member of staff. The waitress had an appalling unwelcoming approach, but the young lady bless her did her very best. The bar person did not have a clue when it came to splitting a bill for 24 folk. I had to single-handedly sort out the totally incorrect bill, without a manager around, the only sent a bill with drinks and starters , but my party had already “overpaid” by £350 before I brought it to her attention, the mains had been left off.

Bland tasteless food. The antipasti were poor and arrived at the same time as the mains. Overpriced for the type of food we got.

Food was average but acceptable and waitress although pleasant only managed a handful of words the whole time we were there. Only one other table so no one was under pressure. My partner and I are chatty but did not have the opportunity to engage. Would not return sadly. Wished we had chosen another establishment as we don’t get the chance to eat out very often and was visiting Lincoln for a restful break.

We had a lovely dinner. All the food was cooked well with care and had generous portions. The service was excellent and overall we had a lovely time in this classic Italian restaurant.

Food was bland and seemed like was made with cheap ingredients e.g. the tomatoes. Pasta was thin and lacked flavour and texture, prices were way too high for what you get. 10% service charge added for party of 4 for lunch.

Lovely little Italian. A tad pricey, but delicious food with good portion sizes. Service was very good. Would recommend.

I don't usually leave reviews but I wanted to for Gino's as we were almost put off by some of the more recent negative ones. I have to say I can't quite understand why this place has negative reviews. Perhaps it is a little bit pricey, however the food was high quality with generous portions. We did attend on a Sunday night, which was a bit quiet, nonetheless the service was great. We couldn't really fault it and would recommend it to anybody.

Lovely traditional dining, great service and food choice was excellent. Will definitely visit again.

Really rowdy table made our dining experience uncomfortable: we were unable to talk with our dining companions. The staff made no effort to ask them to quieten down. Never again!

Food okay but not inspiring; more fast food than real Italian. Mussels to start were very chewy and overcooked. Risotto okay, large portion. Service reasonable.

Had a lovely relaxing meal here yesterday. The food (Mushrooms in Cream Sauce, Onion Rings, Fries, Salad, Cheese/Garlic Bread and Two Pizzas) was the best I've ever tasted. the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend this truly authentic restaurant to anyone visiting Lincoln. EXCELLENT !!!!

Nice restaurant, lovely food and good service. However, we took our son who is allergic to nuts - Italian restaurants are always the best option for him, except in this case. The Napoli sauce here, which is on all the pizzas and all the tomato pastas - is made with nuts. We’ve never encountered this before, and it left him with almost no choice on the menu (the only dish on the children's menu he could have was carbonara which he doesn't like). It feels totally unnecessary to put nuts in a tomato sauce, and to put that in almost all dishes on the menu. For that reason, we wouldn’t return. If you don't have a nut allergy then I'd recommend it.

Was really nice went for a work party ordered bruschetta and Italiano pizza, staff were very friendly excellent service. Recently revisited food was exceptional very tasty and really nice, service was excellent

Absolutely wonderful food. So wonderful that I needed bread to mop up what was left on the plates. Portion sizes were really good.

This place is so amazing. Everyone is so friendly, the food is definitely worth the money. it’s so delicious. Everyone stopped and had a conversation, i mentioned that i liked the berries to the manager and he brought more to our table along with the bill. It was such a small but friendly gesture and it really put my experience over the top. I would definitely come again, they probably won’t be able to get rid of me! the vibe of the whole restaurant is definitely family oriented and i loved every moment of it

Popped in for a awesome calzone and a coke after visiting Lincoln Castle. Brilliant food and friendly customer service.

Lovely food & service every time we go

Food was nice but service was poor this was once they realised we was sharing a pizza we also had fries onion rings and drinks and would stayed for pudding but that changed our minds ....Don't like the way they add 10% on for service that was poor couldn't be bothered to ask to remove it hope the chief gets it 👍
