I booked afternoon tea for 14 people for my mums 80th birthday. I cannot praise the staff at Gingers enough for their hospitality on the day. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was of the usual Gingers high standard, with plenty for everyone and some to take home too. Filled croissants, finger sandwiches, quiche, sausage rolls, cakes to die for and scones with jam & cream in abundance. The ladies all had an amazing time and Gingers definitely gained some more fans! I really couldn’t recommend the food, the surroundings and the wonderful staff highly enough.

The inside is much smarter than the outside and a lovely place to eat, waitresses polite and helpful on a busy Saturday morning squeezing us in as we hadn’t booked. Lovely house coffee and the breakfast burger and the breakfast ciabatta were excellent. The whole menu was tempting and we will be back to try some more of it.

Couldn't be bothered to cook breakfast so booked Gingers for Sunday morning. Opted for The Big One, superbly presented, cooked to perfection. Partner got Eggs Benedict. It was presented nicely and was tasty. She really enjoyed it. Pot of tea was made with leaf tea an was strong and refreshing. All in all Gingers is a great little Bistro. Decor is cool and has a chilled ambience. Service is great and efficient.

Booked for a breakfast for 14 of us. Ordering different options and drinks, all food came out together, correct and warm. Tasted great and value for money. They even separated the bill for us, makingvit easier to pay for smaller groups. Also used this place for takeaway breakfasts for my workplace. Vegan option meat free breakfast went down a treat. Also happy to substitute items for people. Ideal location when you get off the ferry and want a hearty breakfast without paying P&O prices.Certainly be using again.

From the first phone call of enquiry, to leaving the party on Friday evening we had 100% first class 5 star service from the team at Gingers. Friendly helpful and welcoming. Our request for a pie and pea supper was fulfilled and our dietary requirements catered for. The meat and potato pie was excellent as was the vegetarian quorn chicken and mushroom. Our gluten free guest was also given a delicious alternative. The whole evening was just perfect, friendly bar staff and brilliant DJ's who had us dancing all night.

Normally I enjoy this place for breakfast. I am aware that as it's a Saturday it's going to be a bit busy and the waitress is all alone. However, there's no reason to be so rude. We originally planned 5 people to come out for breakfast, but another 4 people joined us. When the waitress came over, she asked if next we could pre book a table next time we bring this many. However, my uncle explained that we weren't expecting this amount of people. Her reply was well you could go to the cafe down the road in the snarkiest voice I've heard. My uncle tries to laugh her ignorant comment off but she doesn't smile and asks "what do you want?" To the next person. No need for her to be so rude and if the Chesters don't want customers if that's how they train their employees, we will in fact take our business elsewhere.

Volveremos!

I didn't realise this place even existed. Situated on Hedon Rd, we were able to park on the main road outside quite easily. The menu was extensive with plenty to choose from, if you just wanted a light bite or something more substantial, there was something for everyone. I do have to gloss over the fact that my gammon & eggs were served on a wooden board instead of a plate (my personal preference) but Gingers can be forgiven because the food was delicious. They also offer free Wifi (always a bonus) Give it a try, I'm sure you won't be disappointed. x

Second visit here because I liked the quality of the food and value for money. Great grub and friendly service. Decor is fresh and modern, although I will say, the toilets let it down a bit, but they're clean. I have visited Gingers a few times but I was disappointed with today's lunch. I ordered a chicken and bacon with mayo on brown bloomer bread. It was advertised as being with salad garnish and crisps. The salad consisted of a bit of lettuce and a bit of red onion, not what I would expect. Where was the tomato, cucumber, dressing ?. The sandwich filling was obviously something out of a tub and was tasteless. We told the waitress when she cleared the table about our disappointment and she said she would pass it on to the chef. I hope it's taken on board otherwise they are going to lose custom.

First visit of Gingers and the decor is smart and modern. After finding a seat my friend and I was talking, a waitreess came over and asked "what do you want to eat" I replied I've not decided yet to which she just said "well the menu is over there" and walked off. Then after being ignored for twenty minutes we asked if we could order. Our food was paraded around the restaurant as there was apparently a table mix up (we only ordered our food ten minutes previously and the place wasn't busy) The food was lovely and we'll presented and I would recommend it, however, the staff really need to improve as at times they were borderline on being rude.
