Straight off the bat, for me this place is a gem. Very few places like this in Sussex thus far. My review is based on the welcome, the atmosphere, friendliness and my visit overall. I mainly wanted to point out that I never knew scrambled egg on toast could be this nice !! Didn’t know what to expect so I asked the missus if we should come back tomorrow (Tuesday) 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Just had lunch at this lovely place. Had yummy scrambled egg on a massive piece of well buttered sourdough. Will definitely be back to try other dishes. Update in our second visit. On our first visit it was when there was a market in so was very busy so we accepted the long wait. But we visited last Fri when there were a few people in but still had to wait 40 mins for scrambled egg. The food was great when it came but our tea was then finished and the wait was too long as car park time was ramping up. We were not the only ones that were exasperated with the timing. So unfortunately we won’t be back.

Such a delicious brunch. Started with a long overdue coffee and moved on to food...... A simple choice, basically advocado and tomato on toast. However, the bread was chewy brown, the avo was extremely creamy and the tomatoes were powerful. They had been roasted I think, with all sorts of loveliness sprinkled over the top.( at a guess zatar perhaps? ) A further coffee to end with. I like that this place is tolerant of everyone and everything, and the food is good value and yummy!

Not expensive but very basic Italian food. Wine by the glass was pretty good, and reasonably priced, especially when they forget to charge you for the second glass! Coffee as pretty good, quite a mild blend but it was well made, hot chocolate was delicious. The service was not as good as others talk about so maybe we caught them on a bad day? The stress behind the counter between the team was felt on the other side. This made for a far from relaxing experience which is a shame when they have clearly gone to a lot of trouble to get many other things right.

Thought this place looked the best in the area so ordered a coffee and a toasted sandwich. The coffee was made straight away and I thought the sandwich would follow fairly soon. I let them know I would wait outside as I need to be careful of Covid. Waited for 15 mins and still no sandwich so went inside to check, wasn't ready yet and I think they'd forgotten about my sandwich order. Another 15 mins after that I went back again to check (so I had now been waiting 30 mins outside and had finished my coffee) when I asked about my sandwich she said it was in the toaster and then I heard the girl in the back where the toaster was say "Its not Subway" which I thought was Really rude as I had been polite when I enquired about my sandwich and had been waiting 30 mins by now, she didn't know that I had heard her, so I mentioned I had heard her comment. The mature lady in the shop was very apologetic and kind, but the 2 younger ladies seemed like they couldn't cope and were lashing out by being rude, the funny thing is it wasn't even busy and there were 3 staff members. Such a shame as I would have come here every time I come to Shoreham as I care about good quality food, but the staff upset me (except for the lovely lady I mentioned, who should be in charge). I would like to tell you about the food, but because I'd had a bad experience it left a bad taste in my mouth, it was probably good judging by the shops appearance, but I couldn't taste the goodness this time.

A very homey coffee shop like atmosphere with the service exceptionally friendly. They cater to V, VG and GF. Everything is made fresh and the produce is fresh from local farms. Just goes to show you what can be made from a tiny kitchen with just a couple of staff. The cakes are baked by local bakers. The cappuccino was lovely and the ambience makes you feel immediately comfortable, wanting to stay for a while and watch the world outside rush by. This is half cafe, half grocer, on a quiet back street. We sat outside due to it being stifling hot inside with no fans. The menu was only written on a blackboard inside (I did ask for a printed copy). Due to injury, I asked hubby to photograph the board so I didn't have to manoeuvre inside with a leg brace. Unfortunately, the large board was directly behind other patrons. Not only did they obscure the bottom of the board, but to photograph the menu was impossible without also taking their photos! I understand the paper & waste issue with printed menus, but surely having at least one for disabled patrons could be accommodated.

Hazelnut tarator, mushroom oil, lemon, focaccia - was a little bland for my liking but the focaccia was superb. For mains I had roast lamb, which was tender, gorgeous, with plenty roast potatoes and veg. Our daughters both had roast beef with the hugest yorkshire puddings, and we asked for extra gravy. My husband and our friend had the roast Hake, braised Coco Beans, mussel kiev, garlic aioli, roast baby carrots & chervil, which they both said tasted amazing, but sadly the hake pieces were tiny, the only reason I did not give a 5 rating.

We were visiting friends so we called in here which I think is our second time We had a combination of tea, americano & flat whites and to eat a bakewell tart. Lovely place and friendly staff. Flat whites really good and the bakewell tart 5 star! Wish I had bought another as so good!

We were looking for a quick bite to eat gluten free and I happened to notice somene tucking into a very delicious looking salad so in we went. We ordered a salad each, one goats cheese and the other ham & pickle, both made to order and really tasty. Very fresh ingredients and beautifully presented. Staff were really helpful. They have a good menu and serve a wide range of gluten free options. A great find for us in Shoreham, we'll be back.

We had a really delicious lunch, friendly and efficient service. Catered for special requests. Something different and very tasty. The shop is a bit more expensive but you pay for very good quality.

My husband and I have just moved to Shoreham and went to Ginger and Dobbs with my family when they came to visit. We were all really pleased with our food, which we made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The tricolour salad, quinoa salad and goats cheese salad are all delicious. Friendly and down to earth staff. Will definitely go back!

Went for a late Sunday lunch. Sat down, no service at all. Asked for a menu and the waitress barked that it’s all on the blackboard. Chose and waited but no service. Left. Sorry to say it’s a bit musty inside. Might have been an off day but not impressed.
