Ginevra Espresso Bar in Northumberland

Called in for cappuccino, which was OK and a bacon sandwich, which wasn't. The bun was wet and soggy, the bacon so tough, it was almost inedible. Not the usual standard, very disappointed.

Prudhoe is incredibly fortunate to have two branches of this business. I’ve been going ever since branch no 1 opened and have never been disappointed. The coffee and food are competitively priced and of excellent quality. If you want a specific recommendation, their soups are out of this world. The staff are extremely friendly and nothing is too much trouble. I look forward to many more visits.

Nice coffee but nither venues are dog friendly which is a real shame! Will unfortunately have to go elswhere in the future. Missing out on a big group of customers because of this.

Came here with family for a quick snack and a warm drink. The flavoured hot chocolates are beyond delicious! I have never in the world found a hot chocolate as good as theirs. Loved the mint! We love you Caffe Ginevra and will definitely be back. Love from Australia ❤️🇦🇺🦘

Ordered coffee beans 2 months ago and still have not received them. They stopped responding to my emails. They charged me for my order immediately but haven't delivered in 2 months and won't respond or send me a status for the order. They ripped me off. Beware they are thieves.

Not really sure what’s going on but the last twice I’ve been in we’ve felt we’re being pushed out the door, even though it’s well before closing. Staff start serving in takeaway cups 40 minutes before close, sweeping up around you and putting chairs on tables. Maybe they’re not been paid to stay beyond closing time but it’s incredibly off putting and unwelcoming. Also had to wait 20 minutes today for a tea & coffee despite their being no queue. Given the number of local cafes going down the plughole recently, Ginevra might need to up their game if they’re to survive.

Fabulous Coffee and superb sandwiches. But no dog friendly area inside so we often have to go to other local dog friendly cafes 😗

Had a lovely lunch here today. Ham and cheese sandwich was really delicious and the cappuccino was perfect. Smiling, friendly staff and service was excellent. Reasonable prices too. Will definitely be back.

Very disappointed with the new recipe for biscoff ice cream, we ordered biscoff milkshakes (had several in the past) and when they came they had no taste and were extremely watery. When pointed out the staff member informed us that the recipe had changed, that is was vegan and oat based. We were made new milkshakes but and we were disappointed, the oat taste was over powering, there was no biscoff taste and a again it was very watery……more like milk with whipped cream on top than a milkshake. Staff never came back to ask if the second drinks were better (we didn’t drink them!) as they seemed more interested in talking amongst them selves. Very disappointed 😔

Bought a magic bag from this place on to good to go only to be told on arrival that no food was available. I spent the cost of the damn thing on petrol to get there. They could've let me know before I had left. I got an email 45mins before collection saying it was ready. Waste of time and petrol. You will never get another dime out of me.

I have been looking for SO long for authentic Italian coffee cups. I eventually discovered this website and I am so thrilled that I did. I have made 2 separate orders of the most beautiful cups, saucers and napkin holders. The first order was a gift, but so pleased with them I had to order a set for myself. They are just lovely, super quality and look so classy. Arrived quickly, free postage and the customer service I received from Anthony, was second to none. Popped in for a latte before working at a local shop today. The lady behind the counter was so friendly and even made my coffee before officially opened. Nipped in again at lunchtime for a sandwich and she even remembered how I took my coffee. Brilliant service and lovely food and coffee. If I ever visit Prudhoe again I’ll be sure to call in!

Was passing the new Retail Park this morning, never been before so I thought I would try a coffee. I was aware of the name and the brand so I thought it would be acceptable - was I surprised !.The coffee was better than I could have hoped for, certainly the best I have had for a long time, so good in fact I went back in and bought some ground to take away and It will not be the last time I will do that. Truly impressive. If you love coffee please give them a try oh and bye the way the staff were nice and friendly

Oh how the world has changed since my last visit but boy have ginevra stepped up. Initially when you were allowed to visit, my family found the experience brilliant in what were unheralded times, the ever bubbly Kaitlin making sure my autistic daughter was at ease with the face masks and helping explain it was table service now as she was so used to going to the freezer to pick out her ice cream. She was ably assisted by either Neave, the ever attentive Jordan or the new girls who's same escapes me I do apologise. All four are a credit to the shop and have had to deal with chin maskers or anti vaccers or worse people complaining about the rules that are there to keep the public safe. Since the what feels like the 53rd lockdown has been enforced, they have switched to a takeaway only service with strict covid measures in place which again sadly some of the local knuckle draggers ignore. They did some stunning anti pasti boxes for delivery and some brilliant Christmas Eve boxes for grown ups and children alike. So please give them a try and just be greatful we have a local independent coffee shop taking on the big boys.

This has to be one of the friendliest coffee shops in the north east. We were greeted with a smile and shown to a seat. A lovely young lady came to take our order which was delivered to our table promptly. I enjoyed a Pistachio White Hot Chocolate which was delicious. We were very impressed by all of the Covid measures and felt safe throughout our visit. The cafe is immaculate and it’s clear how seriously the owners have taken this terrible situation. Despite everything that has gone on these past 6 months the staff have put on a brave face and continued to support their loyal customers. A huge well done to everyone concerned.

Some staff and a lot of the public being allowed to ignore the new laws concerning covid virus. Witnessed the staff allowing a member of the public being attacked by a non adhering man. Staff did not assist nor deal with the situation. Once this was the best place in town, now famous in the town for none adherrance to covid law.

I have been an enthusiastic customer of Ginerva from the get go, but my experience today was a bit depressing. The door was propped open, and it was freezing inside, I had to keep my coat on. It might be because of Covid but surely the door can closed when its so cold and wet outside? Poor service, how I hate finishing my coffee without getting my food. I let the staff know I was waiting, they were very apologetic and blamed Covid making food prepartation take longer. Fair enough, but it was only a cheese sandwich and the cafe was half full. I used to love a cheese sandwich here, the ciabatta was always crusty and rustic and there was always loads of cheese. The ciabatta today was soft and spongy. Worst of all there was one small slice of very thin cheese in the sandwich which didnt fill it and meant I was eating bread and butter some of the time. To end on a good note: coffee was fab as usual!

Had a takeaway meat & cheese board to enjoy at home with a bottle of red - did not fail to impress. A great lockdown treat!

Anyone looking for coffee or lunch in Prudhoe should go here! The staff are fantastic and everything the sell is delicious. I often go in with my son and they’re always welcoming to both of us. It’s a lovely place to take young children. They also have an alcohol license with plenty of selection.

Canny little coffee stop off while I. Prudhoe for business. The staff were friendly and they had a good range of freshly brewed coffee in a nice atmosphere.

Excellent coffee and snacks available here but a little bit pricey to go regularly, however would still recommend.

Definitely the nicest place to sit with a coffee on the high street in Prudhoe. Lovely bites to eat including the Italian mini pastries. Proper Italian coffee, lovely cappuccino's etc with fresh milk from Wheelbirks as an option, but as a regular black coffee drinker its a bit too bitter for my tastes on its own. Coffee is scalding hot when served so possibly caused by slightly too high a temp on the machine. All in all very nice though.

Ginevra has a good selection of coffees, nice to sit inside or outside, Staff are very friendly, also selection of sandwiches etc, worth a visit

First visit today,nice friendly Staff and spotlessly clean premises.Weather was very hot therefore decided to sample their Ice cream. The pistachio,white chocolate and raspberry was delicious-well worth a visit.

This place is brilliant - lots of hard work is clear! It is evident why this remains such a popular spot - the coffee, the team behind the counter and a relaxed atmosphere!

Did not enjoy my experience at this place staff were rude well over priced drinks and food would give this place a very wide bearth. Would not recommend this place. They by there drinks from local Costco then put extra £2-£2.50 on a bottle of beer no need

Lush little cafe serving good coffee. Always try to pop in on a Saturday morning for a cappuccino. It stays open past 5 and is an early evening bar selling bottles of prosecco (for only £12.95 on a Friday) and Italian lagers/ cocktails. Lovely atmosphere with outdoor seating for the sunny days. Well worth a visit. We were served by Shelley and Molly who were really friendly - great service. We will be back.

I usually pop in here on the way home from the gym, great place, staff are awesome and prices are pretty good too!

Great local coffee shop serving Italian coffee , good selection of paninis and cakes, can particularly recommend the home made soup. My parents love the home made cheese scones, served warm or cold if you prefer. Wide selection of local ice creams Very friendly staff who know regulars orders and always have time to chat, even when busy.

Everything about this place is fantastic from the coffee to choice of cold drinks, atmosphere to the staff. Informal, relaxed and how on Earth do the staff remember each persons ‘usual’? Mind, they’re younger than me lol Genuine, imported Italian coffee....what’s not to love!!!

I love Ginevra, it’s a great hub for meeting up with friends and family and the coffee is top notch. As a regular visitor I always feel welcomed and well looked after. They also open evenings too - with a nice selection of wines and the bread and Olives are lovely too :-) I held a private party at the previous venue and it was great - and they were only to happy to accommodate my needs. Recently I mentioned that I don’t like my scone warmed and I’d like that to be a choice not a presumption, ever since they’ve checked with me every time if I want it warmed or not - a small and simple thing, but that’s what makes the service special, they listen to the customers. Keep doing it just as you are Ginevra, it’s lovely.

I love Ginevra, when I worked in Prudhoe I would often pop in for a quick lunch or quicker takeaway. Now I like to meet up with friends and family for a more relaxed coffee. Sometimes just pop in myself for a treat, there's always someone to pass the time of day with and the staff are very friendly and always remember how I like my coffee.

Fantastic coffee, fantastic home made cakes, the panini's aren't really worth having, the staff are really friendly I just wish they would bring your full order over in one go as opposed to bits and bobs now and then. The chairs could be updated to something more comfortable.

The premises have moved about 10yards down and 5yards across the road. A bit bigger with the same staff and menu. Perfecto.

Whether it's popping in for a pick me up to an ice cream for the kids to an evening cocktail and nibbles, this place caters for it all. With lovely staff and an amazing atmosphere you can't help but feel at home when you enter. Don't know much about coffee they will guide you or they have a selection of teas and soft drinks. The homemade tray bakes are to die for.

Ginevra has recently relocated to a bigger premises and the improvement is clear to see, more seating and more space. The staff are very courteous and helpful. Still a great range of drinks and food. It is a lovely place for lunch or even just a quick coffee. Definitely worth a visit... Enjoy!

This little coffee shop is just lovely. The staff are so friendly and polite. I have lots of catch ups with my friends. My kids love going here. Ice cream absolutely amazing. It’s lovely to have a lovely coffee shop in our community, they get to know you, and what you drink is! No faults what so ever.

I love his little coffee shop. I live local so I'm in a fewhile times. I'm there mainly meeting up with friends for a good gossip. The staff are friendly and they take the time to get to know heir customers. During my illness tgey always asked me how I was getting on and even now 3 yrs on they still ask how I'm doing.. I visit ginevra on a weekly basis, the coffee is to die for, if I can't get to enjoy a coffee inside I often opt for the take away! Staff are amazing always know how I like my coffee! we don't talk as customer & staff we talk as friends,this is because they are all so friendly and welcoming.

Ginevras is an absolute gem of a place. You simply CANNOT get a better coffee anywhere. The atmosphere is always so friendly, people will chat to anyone and everyone, welcoming new faces and having a laugh with the old.

We love going here. The food is amazing, the drinks are fantastic and the hot choccy with cookie dough is a must! The ice cream is top notch too.

My friend and I called on for coffee on a whim.. I must say it was perfect from start to finish. You can not fault the service, we felt really welcome as soon as we walked in and it was so hard to choose what to have as there is such a big selection. Thank you, we will be back soon!!

Went here this morning for a quiet coffee with a friend. The noise of people shouting and laughing was so bad having a conversation was impossible. The main culprits were the staff who shouted rather than talked to the point where it became quite stressful.

I called in today to collect some ice cream as a treat for myself. I had 3 different flavours which were delicious. It saved the journey to wheelbirks to get some.

Fabulous service, always greeted with smile, it’s a fantastic coffee shop to have catch ups with friends and family. Food is lovely, the soup ahh my just Devine. I’ve tried the Parma violet Ice cream beautiful. If your looking for lovely place just to catch your thoughts’ this is definitely the place

This has become one of my very favourite places to seek local refreshment. It is good that the menu periodically springs some lovely surprises, one recent one being a lentil and vegetable soup to die for. All the established favourites are excellent, too. Prices strike me as very competitive. The staff maintain the art of making each visitor feel like a welcome friend and my frequent visits have never lost their feeling of being a real treat.

Small and intimate, owned by a qualified barista. ('proper' coffee!) A popular locsl meeting place with a well-deserved reputation for excellent coffee and friendly service.

Popped in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The staff are very friendly and the service is good. It's not too busy, so seating isn't a problem. Recommendation?... Try the gondola pizza with an expression, the ciabatta's are also very good. Maybe an ice cream to finish. Definitely worth a visit.

Anthony has gone from strength to strength with this place, absolute love to coffee aswell as all the little italian treats he has on offer....most staff are family so its a great relaxed atmosphere in there too....ice cream shop attached is an excellent idea aswell.100% worth a visit

It's not the first time we've been in here & it certainly won't be the last.Beautiful local ice cream, super fresh coffee & it's so refreshing to go in somewhere that serves decent soft drinks. I'm so sick of fruit shoots been offered for children's drinks. (There's none in sight of this place, thankfully) My little girl loves the bottles of strawberry juice!The staff are lovely, the deco is lovely I just love this place.If you're lucky enough to be around on a Friday or Saturday evening pop in for a glass of fizz or ice cold beer. Love this place! As a coffee connoisseur this is one of my favourite coffee shops. The coffee is lush and the owners are very welcoming, they haven't earned their title of "Best Coffee in the North East 2015" for nothing!

The coffee made here is among the best I've ever had. Having travelled extensively in New Zealand where almost everywhere makes excellent coffee this little café in Northumberland definitely holds its own. Anthony, the owner, is a young friendly guy who deserves all the success possible. I have had coffee here many times, but the last time I had a slice of pizza and an ice cream as well. Brilliant. It is a simple cafe with reasonable prices. Highly recommend and at busy times you might have to queue out the door, but it really is worth it.

Great little coffe shop , ideal for meeting friends, it's the only one like it in our town that's not linked to a fast food chain ( mentioning no names). The brothers have done a good job, it has everything you need. - large selection of hot and cold drinks, savoury and sweet snacks, friendly atmosphere. Well worth a visit.

Since my last review of Ginevra, I've since become a regular visitor on a Friday or Saturday evening, enjoying a few drinks with friends and family and it's so great to home somewhere small and personal to relax. Great selection of wines and continental beers and the occasional continental cider. But everything about this place is great. All the staff are friendly and very helpfull. They even have a great selection of light bites and tapas to enjoy. If you're a bit put off by 'pub' style places and want somewhere a bit personal to go in Prudhoe this is the place. Ginevra has limited seating, but this helps make it even more special.

Fab local coffee shop, best coffee in Tynedale if not the whole of Northumberland. Forget Costa,starbucks and Neros get yourself to Ginevra for good service and a great welcome. They also serve Wheelbirks ice cream and turn into a wine bar on Friday/Saturday evenings.

I am a regular Ginevra coffee drinker however last night went for alcohol for the first time. With a couple of friends we put the world to rights. The usual fabulous service, amazing wine and then finished with a cocktail that was heaven. Espresso Martini, vodka, coffee and coffee liqueur, nothing can top that.Had an alcohol absorbing flatbread, lovely light and crispy, and certainly took the edge of the alcohol. The quality of the wine stands out for me, not only for the taste and flavour which as I said was amazing, but as a mum of a small, noisy one currently signing hymns, I have no hangover. Which as a rare drinker I was expecting.Thank you Anthony and team for what the girls and I said was one of the best nights we have had together.
