The food is warm and delicious, very good customer service and very kind towards customers. Made to feel very welcome. Value for money.

Yet another great trip to Gill's - Heswall's hidden gem. Home cooked food at reasonable prices and a welcoming atmosphere. What more could you ask for? Great for gluten-free-ers like me, too. Gill's also happily does off-menu special french toast (eggy bread :-) ) for me too. What a star. x

I tripped up on pavement and was badly bruised and shaken The lovely lady in the cafe came out to me and offered me a cup of tea and refused payment.It looked nice and cosy inside and the tea was just right.Looked a good menu too.Handy if you are getting the bus as its right by the bus station.Thank you for caring !

Situated at the bus station, from the outside you would suspect it might be a greasy spoon cafe. Step inside and it is so lovely, homely and decorated in a seaside theme that is very tasteful and classy. The very friendly owner made us so welcome. Thank you Gill! The big breakfast was very tasty and generous and comes with toast and hot drink included. We came back the next day for a repeat breakfast and were genuinely disappointed that it was closed - day off. Much better than some of the pretentious coffee shops nearby. One of these places even had a breakfast menu with bacon nowhere to be seen! Pig eaters not welcome?

Gill's cafe looks somewhat nondescript from the outside but walk in and you'll feel right at home! The decor is like that of a seaside cafe, with soothing tones of blue and white. The pretty cushions on chairs is a lovely touch. There are daily specials and cakes. We enjoyed friendly, genuine service. Will return!

Freshly made good. I was given free bottle of water as they had no sugar free canned drinks. Excellent service.

We were starving after a funeral.Otto lounge had badly let us down with impolite waiter staff and being unable to serve food in the afternoon.Gills was great. The ladies were lovely. All day breakfast was amazing and half the price of Otto lounge virtually.The cafe is simple but clean and cheerful. I would go there again

Service was polite but the window cills had not been cleaned. Dead flies and a wasp had to be blown away by myself. The all day breakfast was shocking, it was like an open toastie. One over cooked sausage, one rasher, one egg and a slice of toast. No beans, tomatoes or mushrooms, very basic. Will not recommend.

If you're waiting for a bus or you've just got off one, Gill's Café is right there at the bus-station. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent, just a short wait as it was freshly cooked. Wi-fi was available if you asked for the password, ( we wanted info about the Liver Building in Liverpool). Good value too so would certainly call in again.

I popped in for lunch with my little dog whilst husband having treatment at nearby Clatterbridge hospital. Good clean cafe with nautical theme with friendly staff and reasonable prices. Enjoyed my cheese and mushroom omelette. Water for dogs and treats.

The cafe is in the centre of Heswall, it’s warm and bright but not a large, it’s got a good regular elderly clientele, so we popped in for a spot of lunch,we followed to elderly ladies that seemed to be known to the staff, and they placed their order, and shortly after we placed ours, and their food arrived quite quickly, and we had a cup of tea and a chat, then 3 ladies and a little dog came in, and they sat down, and again where known, and the dog got lots of fuss, and we where still waiting for our food, the ladies got cups of tea , and the dog got a treat, the ladies that came in a couple of minutes before us were nearly finished on their meal, and twenty minutes had gone by and my wife asked where are food was, and was told we have just gone through a very busy time, yes we know looking after all the regular customers, they where polite on us leaving, but my wife needed to take medications with food and because of their indifference, she felt quite off by the time it all arrived, and even worse the food was over done, so it looks like the best is for their known faces

I have popped in here a few times for breakfast and a cuppa (always nice hot tea) just the way i like i. Tasty fresh food and always made to feel welcome! Would definitely recommend

My friend and I found this cafe in here all. We were met by friendly service. The food was cooked fresh. Lovely menu and food and service was excellent. Thank you Gill and staff. Definitely returning

We travel for miles just to eat there, would suggest you choose from the special menu, the food is cooked freshly and presented attractively.

I had lunch here with my daughter today. We both enjoyed the food and it was very reasonable. Lovely bright place and good service.

Clean bright café, friendly staff and great bacon rolls. (The soup also looked tempting.) No bells and whistles but just what you need to set you up for the ferry journey

Estuve con mi tía que alojarse con mientras que en Hol en Birkenhead. Un lugar muy bienvenido para tomar un aperitivo o incluso una comida completa. La estación de autobús al lado, así que encuentra muy práctico también hay un gran aparcamiento cerca (£1. 80 3 horas! ) El personal muy agradable y amable, una alegre bienvenida y una sincera despedida. Comida muy fresca y preparada a petición así un poco de espera, pero no tan largas. Buena selección de aperitivos, bocadillos, ensaladas y platos principales. (Hígado de cerdo lomo - bacon, salmón, además, ofertas especiales, buen gusto) decoradas con una temática de la costa, faros, paisajes marinos, etc. adornan las paredes y estanterías, aireadas, cómodos asientos.

Visitamos este café ayer para comer y qué sorpresa. El interior era fresco y moderno con un ambiente estupendo.

Nos estábamos alojando en Heswall durante un mes. que necesitábamos comida sin gluten y luchando por encontrar que era adecuado y razonable, entonces descubrimos el Café gils junto a la estación de autobuses. Aunque no es específicamente un menú sin gluten la comida gratis Gill adaptadas para satisfacer nuestras necesidades. Los precios son increíblemente buena relación calidad-precio y la comida es de calidad de restaurante. Estamos a sólo lamentamos que no descubra esta joya poco al principio de nuestra estancia.

If you want a well cooked meal in a cheerful and clean café go no further. Value for money. Really great place.

Went into this place was left so confused sat at a table no attempt to see to me went to counter no attempt to see to me looked like someones family getting hot drinks behind counter did not bother with me the customer i walked out never again shall i attempt to eat at this place must not need my custom.

Buena relación calidad-precio, comida recién preparada y nos volveremos a presentar. El personal nos hizo sentir muy bienvenidos lo recomiendo. Buena elección en el menú y dispuestos a adaptarse a gran variedad de menú si es necesario.

Fui por mi almuerzo que su comida es muy agradable en mi vida. El personal era muy amable y servicial. La torta de carne y chips era delicioso y perfecto.

I use this place once a week for my meal break. The owner Gill and her assistant Wendy are always welcoming and friendly. The food is to great standard and a good price. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone visiting Heswall. Thank you.

Gill's is a little gem tucked away at Heswall bus station, freshly cooked food in a pristine cafe, served by the most welcoming and friendly staff, many of the customers are regulars and this gives the place a community atmosphere, try it it's great!

When my sister gets off the bus in Heswall from Liverpool I meet her in Gill's café. It's just next to the bus station so it's convenient. We like the food there because it's cooked fresh. There's a lot of choice and I usually have either the liver and bacon or the salmon with hollandaise sauce.If you don't usually like hollandaise sauce I would try Gill's because it is much nicer than the usual hollandaise. It isn't bright yellow and gloopy like most places and tastes very nice.Breakfasts are very good there too, so is the coffee. A wide selection of herbal drinks are available. If you just want a snack then have toast or crumpets. Or cheese on toast.It's not expensive, the toilets are very nice, and you can bring your dog in if it is well behaved. Gill and her helper are dog lovers so if your dog wants water or a little treat that comes free. It's just like a nice café but it has a kind of seaside decorated theme tastefully done. We're not far from the sea here. There are a couple of tables outside too.

Gill's is actually one of the few properly dog friendly cafes-your dog will get a warm welcome and a sausage from everyone in there. the café is decorated in a charming sea theme, with driftwood shelves and pictures by local artists. the food is fresh, well cooked and reasonably priced. I am trying to lose weight and was pleased to see salmon etc. on the menu-but food can be prepared to suit your individual needs.the café is obviously used by many regulars and is like a community café.my brother and I meet in there each week, with my dog, before we start our long walk, we love it!

This is another very small cafe in Heswall bus station. Very clean food recommended price very good. From the outside you imagine but go inside its great.

So many cafe's in Heswall so its easy to ignore Gills. We wanted a "hotel" breakfast and thought of here..... glad we did! super value and service from the staff and a really good breakfast. The decor is beach hut chic and works well, If there had been a Saturday paper to read it would have been 5 star!

Always happy to pop in here, you get what you pay for, always hot and the staff are friendly. If you're waiting for a bus then this is the place to be on a cold day.

I love going here for a light meal or a snack, Gill and her staff are so nice and hot food is always freshly cooked for you and her home made cakes are delicious, I particularly like her bacon toasties

Gills Kitchen is perfectly situated by the bus station, so ideally placed when you arrive in Heswall. The cafe has been in Heswall for as long as I can remember and is testament to the good food and quality service. The Cafe is your traditional Cafe, but by no means a greasy spoon. It caters for people of all ages and there is always a warm welcome whatever time of day you go in. There is alot of competition in Heswall for places serving food and Gills is right up there with the best of them

Great chips double egg chips beans and a sausage you carnt beat it. There cheese and black pudding toasties are lovely to. Nice decor great staff x

We had a lovely day at Heswall and started with a bite to eat at this lovely little cafe. The staff were lovely, service very good. The food is tasty simple and very good value. The atmosphere was very nice and relaxed. If you are around Heswall this is worth a stop. Best wishes, Linda Kelly

Gill's has been refurnished, with wooden floor and wooden tables. Nice new decor. Good food and service as always.

This is a great cafe conveniently situated in the middle of Heswall by the bus station and near to car parks. I have been going there off and on for breakfast or lunch for quite a while now. Customers seem to be retired or on their lunch break. There are sandwiches made to order, and there is hot and cold food food to eat in, such as cooked breakfasts, salads, pork steak dinner, liver and bacon dinner. All good value, for example at time of writing the pork steak dinner is £4.95 and includes chips, peas and gravy as well as quite tender pork.
