Gills Fish & Chips Heaton Road in Solihull

Three weeks ago I went to get fish and breaded cod and chips from Gills on Heaton road. I had salad and a tub of Garlic mayonnaise. I phoned the order in and as directed ,went to pick the order up from Gills myself. I took my wallet out to pay for the meal and having done so, left the shop and drove home. The meal was hot , plenty of chips and most enjoyable .Half an hour after leaving the shop I received a phone call informing me I had left my wallet on the counter. In a panic, I drove back to Gills and the staff returned my wallet, in tact and with all it's content. Georgia and her colleagues in the chip shop had saved my life because the contents of my wallet were of major importance to me. I want to thank the staff at gills for their kindness and their honesty. I will be eternally grateful to them all, and their food and particularly their triple cooked chips are outstanding. Disgusting,cold kebab meat,chicken very fatty,Naan bread was dry and tasteless and the salad was slimy with a mouldy tomatoe on top. Safe to say won't be ordering again.

Worst, most painfully slow service that you are likely to ever encounter in your life. Computer says no. Placed an order for some fish (!) and they put it in the fryer maybe 10 mins later.

I wouldn't recommend anybody going here. Tonight was the first time that I'd been since the Chinese couple that ran it retired. My & my friend binned our meals, as whilst waiting for our food, the lady that served us was openly licking her finger both before & after handling peoples food, & not once did I see her wash her hands. A disgraceful & disgusting way to behave in a kitchen while preparing & boxing up customers food!!

Ordered for delivery for 6.30 pm. Actually arrived 7.15 pm. Asked for calzone pizza but just a flat pizza delivered. Rang shop to be told they dont do folded calzone. Email confirmation said they did. Owner said he would come back to collect wrong food order but I have given up waiting and requesting a refund. Really bad customer service and not good food
