£3 something nearly £4 for a large chip(photo attached). Microwaves the saveloy. Definitely not value for money. When the wife is on you get your moneys worth.

Courier was useless didn’t know what he was doing went past my street so many times worse delivery ever we normally tip but not this time food cold when we got it.

Got notified that the food had been collected, and instead of the usual 5 minutes, it took the driver 30 minutes, going to collect & deliver other orders, before they finally delivered mine. Needless to say the food by then was not very hot, as was not in an insulated bag.

Paid £3 for this and there’s practically nothing in there I’ve been to plenty of fish and chip shops where I get triple this for half the price not pleased about the value for money and to make matters worse they were not cooked all the way through I was tasting hard potato on some and then crispy and burnt on others not happy with the food only bonus is that I was served relatively quick

Keen to try as partner is gluten free and not many options around. Unfortunately the gluten free cod had chewy batter, not at all crispy. Both our chips were very soft outside and firm inside, almost undercooked or cooked in too cold oil. Sausages are as generic and cheap as possible with an unseasoned pink/grey soft filling that had a very mushy texture. Bread rolls were cold burger buns, not a massive issue just odd to be cold. Paid £27 which is more than our usual in gravesend (Reliance) which offers a superior experience unfortunately. Based on the other reviews maybe it was just rare occasion but very underwhelmed and expensive for very poor to average fish and chips. Can’t fault the service though!

Ordered for collection at a set time. Got there food was cold as they had not read notes. Woman was extremely rude. Had to wait another 30 minutes for fresh warm fish. Really good gluten free fish and chips but the service is not always that great

I would have rated 0 stars but was unable to. Ordered rock ! Gave 2 people food poisoning. Not the first time dissatisfied with the fish and chips. Batter is sometimes days old the chips are not cooked properly. The guy who I assume to be the owner gives me the creeps. Thinks he is a charmer but comes across as a slime ball. Avoid at all costs. It’s probably cheaper going elsewhere!

Most of the food was lovely but the jumbo sausage had a strange taste so we threw it away.

The gluten free cod and chips very good. Well worth a try if you have allergies.

I would give this zero stars if I could! Absolutely disgusted with the service and food we received yesterday at gills. Day old, rock hard chips served to us. Over £8 for three bags of the most rancid chips I’ve tasted in my life. Even my grandkids wouldn’t touch them. Complained to the most unhelpful person on earth over the phone who said to bring them back for a refund. When we returned we were met with a surly and disrespectful attitude combined with an accusation that we had eaten most of them and the refund on one bag only slammed on the counter. I can assure you, a wild animal wouldn’t eat those chips.

Ordered a large kebab a small came. Called to say I wanted chilli sauce and salad. Tiny amount of salad given no sauce. Kebab was nice tbh. Ordered large chips small came and they were the most greasy chips I've ever had.

They have gluten free options on Friday and Saturday which allows my wife to have a lovely fish and chip takeaway, delicious.

Great gluten-free haddock and chips. Sometimes we order gluten-free onion rings too. Recommend this fish and chip shop if you are gluten intolerant.

The service in this place was terrible. I had to ask if I was going to be served and when I asked a question, I was talked to like im stupid. I left and headed straight down to my favourite fish and chip shop down in Crayford where the food and service is great! I wont be going back to Grills again!

To the person who works in here with the blue BMW, I'm not sure why you feel you are entitled to park where you want everyday? Constantly parking outside in the customer bays or even outside the co-op and just leaving your car there all day! Why not just park on Denver Rd or Knole Rd (There's plenty of spaces), Parking is a struggle as it is and your actually preventing possible customers for your own business as they won't come in if they cant park.............

Ordered cod and chips and mince and onion pie and chips, with a battered sausage. Freshly cooked and very tasty. Huge portions and friendly staff. Come on people get out there and get some great grub

Shocked when we came to eat our food, battered sausages x2, saveloy x2, battered cod, all rock hard stale....... chips were undercooked, has to be the worse meal ever been served especially by a takeaway that boasts award winning, either up your game or close down as if you carry on serving the public with stale old food you won’t have a business for much longer! Very disappointing and we won’t be back.

Really not that good at all, nearest chip shop to me but rarely use it, only bought sausage and chips on walk home from The Dart pub. A chippy to avoid, Parade Fish Bar in Crayford and Britannia on Dartford Road much better

DO NOT apply for job as they expect you to work atleast a month unpaid, so called "training", however in your so called "training" you will still be expected to do everything including cleaning oil and fat etc. One member of staff confirmed they done 3 months unpaid. Just pre warning everyone.

Wow! Gorgeous fish and chips. Rock was cooked to perfection as were the chips. Partner opted for a Pukka pie with curry sauce as he’s from “up north@😉. We don’t get anything if this quality where we live (France) so it was a real treat. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We will return soon.

Visited on Saturday 7pm. Thought it was odd that it was empty. Found out why. Bought two large cod and chips. Very minuscule dry pieces of fish in very thick hard batter. Chips were more like chippettes. Mushy peas were pale and tasted awful. Needless to say we were not stuffed out. £18 wasted. Won’t be going back. Avoid at all cost. Go to Crayford Hippy Chippy or Brittania instead.

Not my favourite fish and chip shop but it's OK I sometimes go there as it's on my way home and I can walk home from there There are better chip shops but it's good enough and the food is OK

Visited the shop a few times now. The fish was beautifully soft in the middle, whilst having a crispy fresh batter. You can defo tell that the chips are PROPER chips and none of that frozen nonsense. Definitely recommend!

Every Friday this chip shop now sells gluten free range fish which is perfect for one of my family members.

The staff are friendly and the food is delicious. The shop is clean and also has a 5 star food hygiene rating which i look for with takeaways! Convenient, clean and cheap- Chips :)

Nice cod and chip. My husband had the new hot wings with curry source which he would recommend. This shop now does gluten free fish on Friday which was nice to see.

Didn't like this place at all. Chips swimming in grease. Sausage seemed undercooked. Definitely wouldn't go back .

I recently purchased fish and chips and sausage and chips here both were very nicely cooked and plentiful good value for money

As I opened the wrapper the grease literally ran out onto my plate. The owner was rude and suggested I go "down the road" when I enquired if he does half portions for small children, then he passed me onto a 15 year old to be served. Yes this is local enough for me to walk to but I'll go back to my regular haunt in sutton at hone.

Fish was fresh and crisp, chis were a lovely golden colour. Great food and service as always. I always have a pleasant experience here!

I've eaten here now half a dozen times or so and have been alway happy with the food served up which the kids have enjoyed, the sa slots are of note and the staff are pleasant.

Good quality fish and chip takeaway. If you require something other than cod or rock you can make a telephone order to save waiting. Staff are pleasant and there is parking right outside. Favourite vhop shop in Dartford area

Went to Gills fish bar on Xmas eve, though not the first time I've had fish and chips from there.They never have any haddock - and if they do it's hard work to get them to cook it.This particular time they weren't particularly busy, but they still overcharged me by at least £10 - even though the server had both socks off so they could use there hands and feet to work out the bill. Service is generally average - as I said, but the food (when they get your order right) is usually good.

Hadn't had fish and chips for a while so decided to revisit Gills. As previously the portions were substantial. For two adults and a ten and eight-year-old we ordered one large cod and chips, one small cod and chips and one single portion of scampi. This was more than adequate and there were chips leftover.Food was piping hot and fresh. Ticked all the boxes. Staff also friendly!

About time this chippy had some reviews! Staff are friendly & portions huge. Don't make the mistake of assuming small cod & chips is kids' size! Have been here a few times now and food seems freshly cooked. Can't comment on the other things on the menu as we only tried cod & chips which we will definitely order again.
