Food lovely and great night with the bee gees. All staff here are brilliant ,was made welcome as we arrived.

We visited recently for a family Sunday carvery. We had previously visited last year & found the meal very nice, then from this previous visit, we recommended to our friends, as great value with a tasty meal. Based on last years visit, we decided to book again this year.This turned out to be a massive mistake on our behalf. I’m not going to comment on the venue, but purely the service & meal. The inexperience of the waiting staff was plain to see, so maybe some training will help to solve this problem.Moving on to the meal. Based on our last visit, it was on a different level. For starters I chose Crab Cake, that was a big mistake, if I’d have wanted a tasteless, over cooked thin Crab Cake, I would have purchased this from a frozen food retailer. This was served on a bed of salad, or should I say, some limp leaves, well past their best before date. Moving on to the carvery, to start, the plates were cold, just stacked on a table waiting to be used. There were 3 meats on offer, turkey, gammon & beef. The turkey & gammon tasted ok, but the beef was so tough I had trouble cutting it, let alone chewing it, so decided to leave it on my plate. The roast potatoes were not to bad to be fair, they were hot but could have done with another 10 minutes in the oven. The vegetables, parsnips, carrots, peas, swede & cauliflower cheese all could have been a lot hotter, I’m not a fan of luke warm / cold vegetables. This leads me to my biggest disappointment, the Yorkshire puddings. They looked really nice, but the flavour & texture were appalling. I likened them to chewing cardboard, absolutely no flavour at all, so once again, this was left on my plate.Sadly I will not be returning to this establishment for any type of food, especially the Sunday Carvery.

Can't fault the food. 3 choices of meat and lots of lovely vegetables. Its a shame that nobody said that we could go back for second table was on the dance floor. A few pictures and a bit of colour in the room would definitely help with overall ambience.. otherwise its just a few tables thrown into an empty room.

We had a drink in the bar with all the golfers and the went to the dining room. This is a big light room with lots of room so tables are not on top of each other.

The website states that it is open to non members, unfortunately members get priority. We arrived on Sunday for a carvery at our reservation time of 1.30. We waited at the bar for 15 mins to be served and told where our table was. In that time a member turned up after us and got served (assuming it was a member as they were welcomed by first name) followed by another member before we were finally served. We were told our table number and we sat down. We got up to very our food at 2pm. The plates were cold, there was roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings (only 1 each) and parsnips leet but only 1 spoonful of cabbage, 1 piece of broccoli and 1 piece of cauliflower left and a few strips of carrot left over for the 4 of us. We asked if there was any more vegetables to come out but they said that was it, they finish serving at 3pm so why did they have no more vegetables?! We just shared out what was left between the 4 of us, helped ourselves to the watery gravy and went and sat down. The ham was lovely but the beef was extremely tough and with the plates being cold it wasn't enjoyable. We left the majority of our food and went to pay the bill. We were told it was £15.45! Being the honest people we are we said that that was definitely wrong as we have had 4 drinks, 4 carverys and 3 puddings. This was corrected and we paid our bill and left. We will not be visiting again!

The staff at Gillingham golf club are useless. I recently went for a celebration here and the bar staff were no help, they sat behind the bar drinking and socialising with one another whilst people were waiting to purchase drinks. They were also rude pointing and making fun on people, who had probally done nothing wrong. A lady with blonde hair and a fringe seemed to have started this whole thing. Im very sorry for writing this review but i thought the food was great and the venue aswell, but the servis and staff could really use some help or even replacement

Had a three course lunch here on Sunday to celebrate a special birthday for my friend. Very prompt service and a delicious roast dinner. There were three people in our party and the Roast Turkey and Roast lamb were very tasty. The prawn cocktail was also very nice. The only issue is the parking there is not enough and some guests parked covering 2 spaces which is very inconsiderate. I ended up parking in the road and was late for my reservation.

We are members of Gillingham Golf Club (Social Club) We don’t play golf. We booked to have dinner on Christmas Day and what a lovely time we all had. Everyone had a great time and the food was lovely! Would definitely book again. Staff were all so nice. Thank you :)

Stopped for lunch pleasently suprised, very nice attentive service reasonable cost too. portikn size was great too in a lovely environment overlooking the golf course

Visited golf club & dicided to join has asociate members "WE DON'T PLAY GOLF" great value £30 a year for couple's. Get 15% off drinks food was great. You also get a monthy tribute act. Only £5 Food £8.25 EACH what a great value evening

Visited the Golf Club for my mums birthday dinner on the Sunday 2nd October we were 32 altogether 26 adults &. 6 children which the children were half price the staff were very friendly and attentive and the meal was excellent and very affordable well done

Had ham, egg and chips midweek. Good value and a nice pint of real ale. Service was friendly. Seemed to be serving quite a lot of meals.

Has to be one of the best carvery meals we've eaten. Generous portions and friendly staff. We will be back again.

Had Sunday lunch here , which is a carvery , with all the family a very good meal all freshly cooked and good value for money will certainly return for more

We visit the restaurant fairly regularly for Sunday lunch and Christmas dinners. The quality of the food is good and the service is first rate. Wine bought by the bottle is reasonable quality and realistically priced.

Sólo tuvimos la comida de los domingos como una comida de 80° cumpleaños. Comidas a la orden del menú con una buena selección. un montón de verduras era fresco, que tenía un montón de sabor. Limpio y agradable ropa fresca en mesas dispuestas con servicio...

Estábamos en una señoras noche el lugar era muy agradable muy buen servicio, el personal del bar era excelente la comida también es buena. Mirando alrededor muy bonita casa del club.

Este es un buen lugar para visitar para una ocasión especial y le recomendaría probar. El personal es amable y te hacen sentir importante.

nice course, friendly people easy to get to. also have been to charity quiz nights. Which have been excellent even though the events have been organised by other people from different areas in kent

I love the food here and the staff are always helpful in sorting a meal for my little man whom does not like kids meals as he does not like chips etc :) happy mummy lol

Fantastic value for money, waitress service superb food, cannot fault. 5* service and food, pleasant surroundings, good atmosphere in bar. Well attended, recommended

I am writing this review purely from the point of someone using one of the golf clubs rooms (and catering services) for a family reception. My in-laws recently held a wedding anniversary celebration at this golf club. On arrival at the arranged time, we waited whilst the room we had booked was set up and the buffet style meal was prepared. A smashed armchair, with a lethal broken wooden arm was used to prop the door open. Not a good start! The room itself, which cost £100, was small for the size of the party and the waitresses were not able to get all the way round, necessitating the passing of dirty plates along the table. The food was tasty and there was plenty to eat but the service in the dining area, although adequate, was nothing more. Unfriendly and perfunctory might sum it up and the staff couldn’t wait to clear us out at the end of the allotted time. The bar staff were better and one of the barmaids did ask about our celebration and was helpful and friendly. I don’t know the overall cost of the meal but judging by the bar prices and that of the room, I would guess this was an expensive occasion. Compared to a mirror celebration held a few weeks before at the other end of the country, the standards of service and welcome at Gillingham left an awful lot to be desired.
