I'll let you all in on a secret, if you buy a battered sausage with chips separately, most times you get some extra chips.

We were in Chessington for the Theme Park and decided to visit here on the way home, the fish and chips were amazing.

We have used this fish n chip shop for a very long time and in the past been very satisfied. I dont know whats happening but the last couple of times we have got a take away the chips have been awful. We put it down to maybe just a one off and would try again give the beneifit of the doubt but this is now the 3rd time with recooked or reheated up chips from lunch time or even the night before. We have been very dissatisfied and at nearly £20 for 2 small fish and 1 chips im afraid to say we wont be using this chippy anymore.

Best fish and chips within 5 mile radius by a mile. Really fresh, there is always a wait but that's a good thing in terms of quality. The fish is actually as described (eg, north atlantic white fish is actually north atlantic white fish, and not basa or cheaper rubbish). Sides reasonable and portions are very generous. We drive here even though it's further than others, because it's worth it.

Absolutely Amazing , tasty , crispy cod with fat chippy chips. Uncle Ali and staff are very hospitable allowed us to eat in ! Fresh made to order cod and chips ! Not too greasy and just delicious. The lady Ozgur who served us was very welcoming and polite. Good customer service

Gilders place is a cosy small place for mainly take out the lobby is not too design for eat in. it is mostly take out orders abd it is prepared to serve. If you are in haste then this place is not an option. unlike the name bar, alcohol is not served here. The lobby is neat and you may have to spend up to 10 pounds before you can be allowed a card transaction otherwise its cash.

I can’t upload a photo as there are access issues but the chips I got today are not fresh. They taste like they’ve been recooked from old chips nobody wanted. I used to live nearby and get chips from here all the time, which were nice when the previous owners ran it. I’m getting fed up of paying out more money everywhere, for less value. I don’t like giving negative reviews on small businesses but either these weren’t fresh, or were old chips recooked, or overcooked and not fresh but they were hard and stale so I think as a chip shop, the chips should be a priority. I won’t be going back here. Stop ripping off customers and provide a decent product!

First visit and only one thing let the fish down Why put grease proof paper under the fish as it just was all soggy and stuck to the fish Batter on the top lovely and crispy but all soggy underneath Chips were good you got a lot and staff were lovely

New owners and boy old boy, It’s the BEST Fish and Chips we have had. The fish is always perfect with flavour, The chips are amazing. Portion sizes are good. This business will do very well if they continue to provide food of such quality!!! We treat ourselves from here most Fridays now. Excellent.

I brought 2 pies & one bag of chips On getting home, the food was put onto plates only to realise the pies were cold I called the shop to be told “you can come back for a replacement” The lady then said the warmer must of been turned off by mistake Awful service Cold food and I would not go bank

Best in chessington! Not a rip off, chips were great, fish cooked fresh and put separately to the chips so they didn't go soggy, giant mushy peas, I always get my pooch a savaloy and she said it was top!

I have eaten at every fish n chipper in Surrey and plenty around the UK & I can honestly say the cod n chips here are in the top 5 I've had anywhere.... the chips are easily the best anywhere within a 50 mile radius I challenge anyone to prove me wrong

Today I went for my lunch! Don't know what to eat Lovely lady suggested a chicken fillet burger 🍔 I just LOVE IT! It's the huge and best ever burger I had! Thank you 😊

Really fantastic fish and chips

Visited here yesterday for the first time. Really lovely people, very friendly and great food. Portion sizes very good. Food hot and cooked to order. Didn’t take long. Super service. Good prices. Sell curry rolls which is a real bonus as nowhere seems to sell these anymore. Doggy loved her sausages too! Highly recommended and will certainly visit again. Thank you,

This is a great old fashioned fish and chips bar. Everything they cook when ordered and the chips are proper chunky chips. Great food and well worth the wait x

Still my favourite chippy in Chessington. I think they cook the food fresh for your order rather than have stuff pre-cooked but it is worth the wait.

Very disappointed with the size of the large fish, very small for large. Ordered large fish/ chips circa £10.00.Basically ended up with a big bag of chips. The wife & I have feel with have been stitched up like a kipper, Will will only order pies in future. 16/10/2020 We have just enjoyed the best pie & chips in a long while. The pies were delicious & full from bottom to top with meat. The chips crispy on the outside & soft inside.The sausage in batter was just as delicious which we shared. A superb, filling & delicious meal. Thanks Kevin

I am very fussy when it comes to fish and chips and especially where it comes from . So being in lockdown and now not getting out as much as I'd like I turned to uber eats and I fancied cod and chips.. so i saw Gilders come up.. i have never had fish from there before but i thought I would give it a go. I ordered a small cod and small chips. It arrived quickly and was nice and hot but far from small.. was a lovely good size cod and the chips were the best by far that I had in a long time.. crispy on the outside fluffy inside.. the cod was amazing nicely cooked not greasy just perfect. I would highly recommend them and I will be getting my fish and chips from here from now on .

A pretty decent fish n chip shop. Is clean which is a big plus for me. The staff try their best to provide a good meal. It is employable and a nice easy place to pick up a quick meal. Nothing bad but nothing spectacular either.
