Pizza Making Course. It was so much fun and very good value. Ben was great, created a fun atmosphe was very encouraging and we learnt how to make out own pizza dough, create and cook our pizzas then all ate them together. We took away our handmade dough to practice what we had learned and make more pizzas at home. Thank you Ben, thank you Gildas.

I can't express what an incredible experience we had with Gilda's Bakery, and I apologise for the delay in writing this review! After our wedding at a local venue, we requested Gilda's to cater and deliver breakfast pastries the next morning. They were more than happy to oblige. Peter, who was an absolute delight to meet (even while we were a bit hungover), delivered the pastries promptly in the morning, and we were visually blown away by what we received! The beautifully boxed Cruffins, croissants, pain au chocolat, and more were presented so neatly and carefully. As for the taste—words fail to do it justice. These pastries were absolutely exceptional, surpassing our expectations. Everyone adored them, and we are already planning a trip down from Norfolk just to visit Gilda's Bakery again. A huge thank you to Jon, Peter, and the entire Gilda team for adding such a delicious and memorable finish to our perfect weekend. We couldn't have asked for better.

Just went on the first Pizza making class at Gilda Bakery. Wow, Wow, Wow what a fantastic experience. Ben is so enthusiastic and knowledgable, he is extremely patient & is thoroughly passionate about what he bakes. The pizzas were a triumph! We were treated to a very relaxed evening with an abundance of wine/beer/soft drinks, delicious olives & scrummy truffle crisps. To top it off we had an amazing homemade cheesecake & all came home with a “doggie bag” so we can bake our own pizzas at home! Wowzers what an absolutely lovely way to spend a Saturday night. We hope to return

I throughly enjoyed Gilda’s sourdough baking class set in their wonderful artisan bakery. Our class leader Ben expertly guided us through the all the necessary steps of sourdough baking, from making a started to baking our final loaves; the class also included baking a sourdough pizza, and making a sourdough cracker using sourdough discard. Bens enthusiasm for baking was infectious and confidence inspiring. I’ve always wanted to try this style of baking at home, but felt intimidated to try it alone. This class helped me understand all the fundamentals in a relaxed environment. I’d highly recommend this class!

Really lovely baked goods on the whole although occasionally some look a little too well done . Breads, croissants, pastries are delicious, fabulous quality but I’m put off buying more by eye wateringly high prices.We buy a very large, award winning and delicious quiche in Yorkshire £15, vegetarian quiche from here is £30. That’s not just a north south thing . Definitely a ‘treat‘ and eat sparingly … so looking after my purse is good for my waistline I guess ?

There is only one thing to say…… These are the best croissants this side of France. Recommended this bakery to several travel & tourism connections including luxury hotels. If you don’t want to be disappointed I’d suggest you reserve your bakery items online and collect. The perfect place to grab your croissant and sip a coffee. Outstanding bakery and Kent’s Award Winning Bakery 2023. If you follow me and are part of my readership you’ll not be disappointed. Absolutely outstanding but reserve online to avoid disappointment !

Booked the tasting menu for a 7pm seating, £80 a head on a Friday evening. They’ve been running it a while according to the reviews. Firstly, every single course was amazing. Ample portions, everything was fish based and the most perfectly cooked and prepared fish you could ever wish for. The highlight for me was the Dredgermans Breakfast - a warm oyster topped with bacon and seasoned to perfection! Very hard to find fault with any course though. However, the let down was the timing. For a 7pm seating, I’d expect to be out by 9pm. This wasn’t the case- the first 4 courses came perfectly timed, but after that it slowed to half an hour or more between courses. We left 3 and a half hours after the booking, which I felt is just too long. Anxiously looking at the kitchen doors, half an hour after finishing a course is too long! Such a shame as the food was amazing! I’d have really liked an explanation as to why it took 3 and a half hours, but they ignored me. No other reviews mentioned the time so maybe we got a bad night?
