Giggling Squid - Bracknell in Bracknell Forest

Once again wonderfully cooked and season food, lively atmosphere and great service . However once again the food took to long inbetween starter and main to come to the table about 3/4 hour. Will visit again as food is so delicious.

First time it was a great experience. This time was close to poor. Booking last minute on the App was easy. Arrived at 1pm for 6 people to be given a booth for 5 max. Didn’t have one of the starter packs for 3 (£31.50) so np. Food ordered & repeated back. Starter & one dish arrived in no time, although having to prompt for the water/glasses. Mains for the 4 came out 30 mins later. One person had their delayed another 15 mins, by which time everyone else had finished as the curry dishes were tiny and the rice while heaped were small. The worst thing was finding a fly in the pak choi, which to be honest was off putting. I pointed this out to them discreetly and asked for the bill. The bill came, with the obligatory meal deducted. I was annoyed they put the service charge on which I declined. So left at 2.35pm where we found another place to eat to fill the void.

Unwelcoming place,awful service, terrible coctails & poor choice,average food.Booked for family celebration, but night was ruined by unprofessional staff and service, not even once anyone asked if food/drinks were ok .It took nearly 1h to get first drinks and even those were wrong ,some cocktails not made at all due to missing ingredients,just staff didn't bother telling us.Food took ages to arrive too and as soon as we finished our main we were told we have to leave as they are expecting more guests in.This is the first restaurant, which doesn't understand the concept of hospitality!AVOID!

Had a great evening, we were a bit unsure at first due to the low scores and reports but we found the staff great and attentive and the food very good. There was some meals that were not available but we asked before ordering so were not disappointed. We have been to Wokingham before which was fab and I think maybe a bit more comfortable but cannot complain about tonight’s experience at Bracknell all was great. 👍

I have visited a few Giggling squid restaurants and I must say even though the decoration was nice and staff good the food was terrible. Portions small, no taste and not very hot. Not value for money I’m afraid. Won’t be going back to this branch.

Mixed experience but overall prepared to be somewhat understanding to what appeared to be some new servers in the team, hence the 4 rating. We Arrived in good time for our booking. Were given option of a table up or downstairs. Chose to go upstairs which gave a much more comfortable seating environment versus the very busy downstairs section that we were first offered. We had a relaxed dining opportunity, as in we were in no rush. We have in our rating looked to make allowances for the following issues with our service: 1) a dish we ordered was apparently unavailable - slow cooked crispy beef. We weren’t told until after 2 dishes had already arrived and then were told the same thing twice, the second time after we had ordered an alternate dish, making a delivery of dishes to the table, rather disjointed. 2) we ordered 2 soufflé desserts and only 1 was actually put through so we had to wait for a 2nd dessert to come. 3) There was no peppermint tea. limiting options for a decaffeinated, hot drink. I would have to say that the overall serving and dining experience at this Giggling Squid restaurant is not at the same higher level that we’ve experienced at the Giggling Squid locations, such as Marlow, Brighton, Windsor or Wokingham, for example. I could see what appeared to be a manager wearing a jacket wandering around, but I couldn’t really see what value he appeared to be adding to the actual service. He certainly didn’t come to see us to apologise for some of the issues that we had during our service.

Disgraceful is an understatement. Went with wife and 2 children. Manager forgot to put our food order through the system. Only when we queried after waiting over 40 mins and kids complaining that they are really hungry did they notice. We asked to see the manager (person who had taken our order) but had to wait. All she had to say was oops sorry and shrug her shoulders. Everyone can have a bad day but to not care or try to rectify the problem is simply shocking especially when we are there with children. I guess they had another booking for the table and did not really care.

Lovely friendly atmosphere and staff. The food was delicious and great value. A platter of 4 different Tapas starts at £10.95. Definitely recommend and will return.

So disappointed pre booked festive menu which was a mistake as overpriced for what it was and seemed to slow service down. Had to ask for starters to be served and then ask for main course and had to chase them up again for dessert to be served. Waitress very apologetic each time even giving us prawn crackers to have because starters not arrived (for the price paid they should have been included in festive set menus already). However having to keep asking shows that probably not enough training for staff or lack of interest. All in all overpriced for what it was/ food ok service terrible. As stated So Disappointing.

A less than average meal for a more than average cost! 4 adults and 4 children on a Saturday evening. Couple of the drink specials unavailable but not told this until ordered - given they were mocktails with fairly standard ingredients, it's surprising these were unavailable. Took a good while to be served initially but winter did apologise. Starters and mains ordered - 10 mins later told 2 of starters sharing platters had to have squid substituted as no squid available - ironic. Platters arrived after another 10 minutes - with squid but no prawns. A mixed salad on it which was spicy as - even for spice lovers in the party it was too hot! Then forgot one starter - did apologise again and promised to get without charge (end of meal they had charged for this!) A sticky rice wicker basket was dropped whilst delivering mains, which waitress just picked up and put on table as 'lid hadn't fallen off'!! Had to point out it had still been on the floor. Special butterfly king prawn pad Thai was ok but lot of shell bits were mixed in to the noodles - pot luck missing them tbh! Rest of food was ok and desserts ok - would say mini ones better value. Staff were generally polite - sadly our waiter finished his shift mid meal and it did deteriorate after that. Probably not staff's fault but table was set on such a way that waiting staff were either leaning right across, nudging one of us out of way or we were serving/clearing ourselves!! Was a lot of money (£380) and was definitely not worth that. Disappointed overall. Have previously had better in different Giggling Squid and I would say you can get much better elsewhere for that amount of money. Possibly been generous giving it 2/5!

We had a lovely meal and our waitress was Julie who was very observant and friendly & accommodating. The assistant manager Tac was also amazing.. pleasant and friendly. We hadn’t been for a little while, but we were glad that we went tonight. Food was amazing and so was a service would highly recommend.

Never disappoints! Such a gorgeous meal.Masaman curry and instead of rice I went for the noodles, absolutely delicious. Once again Giggling you did not disappoint.

First Experience for myself however my partner has been to other sites food was great and service was quick. I had to ask for a pint glass more than twice to two staff members, after finding a third the amazing assistant manager Daniella who jumped into action and was back in seconds with a smile and a joke has made sure I will come back again. She always got a smile and a bounce in her step recommend speaking to her. She should no longer be an assistant she is definitely going far.

Came for our 25th silver wedding anniversary! Well having we love seafood we’ll just food in general super excited to try this place out. What a disappointment staff do not care about the people dining here. Staff seemed very rude and no umph seems to be run by kids than supposed to experienced staff who actually care. And as for the food dry dry dry I was infact throwing up in the toilets before we left it was that bad. Cocktails come in much smaller glasses than the usual glasses meant to be used. Chef doesn’t seem to have the love for the food. Wasn’t a good experience at all.

Horrendous seating arrangements with table in between tables where by people can easily hit you when having, or dip clothes in food or see they tightly squeeze Get the automatic door fixed! No heating it was freezing 🥶 Bland spring roll and the taste was from the sauce only Cheeeeeeap vegetable to fill the curry and less sauce

Usual tasty Giggling Squid food but sadly the service was a big let down. Very slow - waited for ages to have our order taken and finally had to grab someone's attention to ask. Starters then took 40 mins to arrive and were barely warm....

Decided to try this new venue and have to say we like it very much. Not busy today so service was quick with food being hot and tasty.

Fabulous night, as always, at the Bracknell branch. My favourite one to go to! Naia was our waitress and she was fabulously attentive and worked hard. Great atmosphere and can’t wait to go back.

Enjoyable lunch, friendly service. Enjoyed the lunch tapas options, especially the crispy duck jicama and ham hock roti.
