Nobody come with my food and now it’s look like delivered

I have waited over 2 hours I didn't recive my order. It says delivered at 20.20 and I am writing this review at 19.52 what a joke

It was spicy and we order extra mix but it wasn’t much like before, portions are getting smaller than usual. Is late delivery as well

ordered 2 hours ago, apparently itll be another 1hr 30 minutes and i cant cancel! im absolutely fuming...and starving!

Kebabs is good but the people works there have no clue what they are doing You could see them they have not Passion for the food .

Positive- fries still tasted fresh upon delivery :) Negative- meant to be less fries, extra onion & tomato, but no extra onikn/tomato, just loads of fries & cabbage and barely any chicken 😭

It can't be called German doner, it's not bad but it can't be called good either.

The portion is big and the food is ok.

The Kebab was mediocre. However for wat it was way to expensive and you still hungry after one. Unfortunately does not really compare to a real German Kebab.

Ordered two boxes with the Day Light Duo deal. Received two half empty boxes with a thin layer of donner meat, we pooled the two boxes and barely filled one box. Very far from the other images online, so will not order again.

I had lunch at GDK Waverly on 15th September. I ordered and paid for my food, but while I was waiting for my order, a member of the staff came and said that the transaction was not shown on their account, so I had to pay again. I showed him that in my account it was changed. He said that if I don't pay, they will not serve me, but anyway, if it is double changed, they will check and cancel one change within 3 days. I made a claim to GDK website abd sent all the documents they asked for, and they promised they would refund me within 7 days, they didn't do it. A few days later, I made a reminder and they promised to refund me as soon as possible. It is more than a month now and I am not refunded. I am wondering weather this is a mistake. No refund until now (10 November). Even if the double change was by mistake, can anyone consider it mistake that 2 months later nobody is willing to refund my stolen money?

Truly awful. ZERO STARS! If you like salad with your Donee Kebab, this is the place to go because that’s really all you get with just a few pieces of doner meat. Oh… and it was cold. RIP-OFF! In response to your reply, which is the same reply to everyone complaining. A lot of people complaining and yet you don’t change. Looking through the reviews over time, you don’t care because nothing changes and you don’t improve!

FOOD POISONING!!!! I have ordered from this location several times and it has become my quick go to for a takeaway during lunch breaks. Today, I ordered a chicken doner wrap and fries. Less than an hour after eating this i began to exhibit some of the symptoms associated with food poisoning and four hours later began to experience all symptoms of food poisoning along with chills. Absolutely the worst experience. Friday ruined. Never coming to this location or any other German Doner Kebab again.

It was absolutely terrible. I tried really hard to find the meat between the bread and all I could find was 3 pieces of meat and a full salad.

I placed an order at one of the kiosks. The payment of €16.71 was accepted. However, no receipt was printed to confirm the purchase, and the order was neither recorded nor served. After my first complaint to the staff, the servers refused to listen and asked me to place another order. I then placed a second order, identical to the first one, while my colleague filmed me with her phone to have all the evidence and ensure efficient communication. Once again, the payment of €16.71 was accepted, but no receipt was printed, and the order was not processed. After a second complaint to the staff, the manager informed me that he could not refund the two phantom orders since there was no recorded order, and for the same reason, he could not serve me. We were asked to pay a third time at the counter! After several email exchanges with the establishment’s team and later with their accountant, I am still waiting for the refund. Therefore, I strongly advise against this restaurant chain, especially for company-organized trips.

I do remember the times when they first opened and started servicing Edinburgh public.. it was great. Pretty much close taste to the actual "german kebab" which I know how good should be as I lived in Berlin for 2 years and there's one of the best not german but Turkish kebabs (not sure why they call themselves German here) Once in a 2 to 4 Month I do eat sometimes there. But today I must say unfortunately everything is going down.. food quality (portion sizes inc), staff attitude, hygiene on the tables. We cleaned a table ourselves with the sprayer they used to do it that we can sit down. The only is rising "prices". Been there last time with my family spent around £60 not worth it. Won't recommend this place anymore to anyone. P.s Will check out soon them other branches in Edinburgh seriously wondering now will it be the same down fall in the others too.

Very good, but it's clinical for atmosphere

Ordered 2 chicken burgers, there was no enough fillings on the burger and buns were very hard for both. Only we got some pickles and onions, no chicken inside

They kept putting the delivery time forward until it was 2.5 hrs after order and no way to communicate with them. So we cancelled. Thankfully this lead to the discovery of “Today Schwarma” in Abbeyhill which was cheaper and much better quality food than German doner.

Food was great, we all loved it. All 5 of us gave 5 stars.

0 the machines do not work, we were charged twice for no meals served, we were asked to pay a 3rd time at the counter. SCAM, staff who don't want to understand anything. 0 credit card tickets, inadmissible

I was positively surprised, even though it is fast food. They live up to their motto "kebabs done right". They are clean, pleasant, they bring the food to your table, ... in addition, the portions are generous and everything is good and at a good price.

It’s saying deliver but it’s not been delivered

Ordered both a beef and a chicken kebab. Both were nicely presented and tasted good. The crispy parts of the chicken were amazing but there was also quite a bit of fatty meat too that was inedible. The bread was slightly toasted a minute too long but overall a solid 4 out of 5. Also ordered spring rolls. Lovely and crunchy but there is next to no filling. Not sure they are worth the money.

Food was cold to the point were the fries started to go that strange mushy way and part of the order was missing. Sadly not my first bad order from the place so cannot recomend.

We ate here whilst our grandson was having Chicken Wings elsewhere in the food court. The kebabs were tasty though I felt they could have contained a bit more meat as once we ate through the top layer it was virtually just lettuce after that.

After we ordered, I realized how dirty it was. We sat in Foodcore. The kebab itself wasn't bad but not good enough for the price of £8.5.

over 2 hours and garlic waffle bread missing,cold food

The place has gone downhill since last time I've been here. Portions were half empty with pretty much everything we've ordered, the bread of the og was burned, cracking and half empty. The service isn't good either. Not coming back again very unfortunate, it used to be the best doner kebab place around

GDK had been on my list of places to visit for a while. Today was the day! We both opted for the OG kebab with mixed meat. Husband had the flaming fries, Wife had plain fries. The flaming fries were stone cold. Now, we probably should have asked for these to be swapped - however, the "flaming" element were spot on, they were soooo spicy. For this reason, we didn't ask for new fries. However, it's never great when you are served stone cold food.. The kebabs were really tasty. Lots of eating. Again, the Meat could have been warmer. We understand the added salad always cools down the meat, however, it still wasn't as hot as we would have preferred. There was plenty of flavour. I would absolutely eat the kebab again and ditch the fries. The plain fries were hot but not really necessary. I would have preferred a refillable drink rather than a can/bottle. Overall, we enjoyed it but feel the local kebab shop has more to offer...

The prices were reasonable. The kebab was delicious, although the meat portions could have been more generous. The staff were friendly and accommodating. However, it was unpleasant to find chewing gum stuck under the table. The sauces were very flavorful, and the cheese balls were delightful. The wraps were excellent, packed with flavor and a generous amount of salad.

It's a terrible place, they serve less food, they are very rude, I asked for a student discount and they didn't give it, and it's the second time.

Came here with family, was £75 with boss boxes, very disappointed as got more chips and salad than meat. And in all boxes Same hardly any meat. Too busy to even speak to us. Donot recommend, won’t be back. Gdk in Lothian road much better.

A small diner with a good atmosphere. The food is very tasty and the service is superb. It's possible to pay with a card or cash. Sadly, there was no German music. Additionally, the amount of food is good and I got full. They take hygiene seriously and cover their hair.

What a joke... a third of a normal kebab for 8.50 pounds... taste wise... well... almost like at home... but for German tourists to try... you can do that... You won't get enough... it's a shame

Waited over two hours just for the order to arrive freezing cold and mostly incorrect (choice of meat in kebabs and small plain fries instead of large cheesy fries). The quality overall has severely dropped over the last few years. Staying far away from GDK in the future. Just complete and utter disappointment.

This was my first time here and I love Doner’s back in the US. As I was in Scotland I wanted a quick bite and something different to eat. I’m glad I stopped in! The food was delicious the service was understandable and for the price it reflected my purchase. For all my fellow Americans this place is like the Arby’s of Europe. Have been wanting to try this fir a while , so whilst in st james centre thought why not , what a waste of money , utter slop of food !, I had panini which had hardly any meat , I asked chicken and just tasted of the garlic slop they shoved on, they should be ashamed of serving that....last of my money, ever, a greasy spoon cafe could do better

Amazing kebabs. Been in about 20 times for takeaway. Usually busy but good service with the machines and till service. Staff always very polite to me and even tell me which order Is which in the bag. Was walking out after picking up order, get to escalator. Gdk worker said give me wrong wrap and exchanged it. What a service. If this anywhere else, going away with wrong order. Great service from staff. Being quite a fussy eater, I love all the customisation you can do. Please open one in Livingston Centre👍🏻

Bread wasn’t toasted at all and when it arrived was completely cold. Meat inside was not warm either.

I’m a regular customer to diner kebab Edinburgh and in the past 2 months I went twice to get an og kebab and I have found big and small pieces of kebab film that isn’t edible or digestible it’s clear and very hard to see and feels like rubber they should be carful and checking what they serve otherwise everything’s fine

Missing parts from order, none of the food has sauce inside of it why say it comes with sauce if it does not and u need to order it separately now we have extra dry food

Prices have gone from very affordable approx 5 pounds for a kebab to 9.60 in the span of 3 years. 10 quid, boys.... And it's not even lamb, it's cheap ground up beef. If you're lucky you get one entire tiny slice of tomato in your food next to heaps and heaps of red cabbage to hide the fact you only get about 100 grams of meat. Used to give wet wipes, no more. Was a regular, but for 10 pounds for a kebab I'll go eat at Doner Haus in Glasgow and actually have a nice experience.

Yesterday I ordered a gym box for takeaway, and the box was half full. I'd expect a full box for £7.50. I also asked for extra lettuce and cabbage. I have attached a photo and you can see the amount of food. Normally I order from Lothian road and me and my friends are always very satisfied. At St. James's shopping mall there's always something. Very disappointed.

I don't know what happened to the driver. The site indicated a certain delivery time, then the indicated time got later, later, later, and later until the food was delivered cold. Absolutely frustrating.

As Germans, we wanted to try the shop and it's not as good as the Antalya kebab shop in Harleshausen or Crunchy Kebab in Kassel, but it still tastes great

I go to GDK in the quarter quite often because I work in the centre and the staff are always really friendly, especially Krzysztof. Amazing food and even better service :)

Ordered feed the family through deliveroo for my birthday party . We all had a great night , all my friends enjoyed their mains . Good portion and delicious kebabs , they were all packed nicely as I could feel them warm and fresh.

I am from turkey . I know how a kebab tastes like. The OG KEBAB is the real game changer. Tried this for the first time and honestly its a an absolute banger . This place is my favourite now, good food , friendly people & fast serving. Overall 9.7 / 10 .

Hands down the worst kebab I have ever had. Tasteless and bland. How can't you make a good kebab?. Miles off what you would get at a proper kebab gaff. And to make matters worse you will have to wait ages for it as they prioritise the endless deliveroo orders in front of you.
