Georgio's II in Liverpool

Fish and chips were cooked in front of us, fresh. The portions were just right, the batter crisp and the fish juicy. We had large fish and chips and a small fish. Absolutely delicious… to add to the joy we ate them in the Asda car park. The people who run it were really nice too! Top notch.

It's always great coming here for the gluten free fish and chips. They have a dedicated fryer for them and make them fresh. They also have gluten free vinegar. The small portion is £5 and the large is £8. I am very satisfied with the amount of fish and chips I got and always felt full afterwards. Being American, I do add my own sauce at home. I'm so happy to have a place where I can reliably get a GF British staple.

I eat here a few days a week and it never disappoints! I’m trying all different things off the menu, it’s all been lovely!

Great local chippy with a good range of Chinese and other cuisines.

Best chippy in the Allerton/Mossley Hill area by far. Generous portion sizes. The chips are crispy and not too greasy and the fish is the same. Owner is friendly and welcoming too. A tad more expensive than some of the other chippies but well worth it.

Lovely light and crispy gluten free batter with the succulent fish. A rare treat that I can now have more often since finding out there is a gluten free chippy nearby!! Yum yum 😋 friendly service and super value for money.

Best fish and chips I've ever had! Chips were golden and not a bit soggy. Fish was delicious - beautifully cooked with crispy batter. Presented in nice cardboard boxes. Able to pay with credit card - even took American Express! Service was excellent - I ordered by phone and didn't have to wait when I got there. The staff were friendly and pleasant too. I would definitely recommend!

Lads, act like a proper chippy, swerve the polystyrene, wrap your chips in paper only and I guarantee you’ll do twice the money. You’re the only chippy in a 1 mile radius now, sort it out. Your damp, soggy chips are the reason you’ve had to go ‘cash only’

This place has been put under new management. And has relaunched itself as the Church Road chippy. It has a limited menu..But..its rather good, and deserves a visit..An excellent improvement

Very good chips! Delicious meal from here tonight, scampi and chips with a battered sausage. Not a bit greasy and tastes great, reasonably priced too. A worthy successor to Georgio's.

This chippy is superb. The chips are perfectly cooked but it is the vegan pies that are worthy of praise. Full of flavour and texture. Highly recommend and more so if you are vegan.

It's great to see a chippy with vegan and gf options. I've always had great quality food from here with generous portions. Our go to chippy even though we don't live in the area any more.

To be honest, I’d given up on Georgios II as it wasn’t up to scratch. However as it is now under new management I thought I’d give it a try. Have to say it’s the best Fish n chips in Liverpool so far. Fish is fresh and batter just right. Still piping hot when I got home. My ‘go to place’ from now on whenever I feel the need for a traditional chippy dinner. Bravo Church Road Chippy.....and don’t ever move away 😀

This has reopened under the name of "Church Road Chippy" and friends said how amazing their fish and chips taste. However, the cook constantly speaks loudly with the mask hanging under his nose, at times half down his mouth. This doesn't feel safe. His colleagues wear the mask correctly so I don't understand why they don't who him how to adjust it with the metal strip on the nose.The fish and batter tasted nice, the chips tasted the same as everywhere else.

Husband just been sent out to try this new place.fir the family dinner.WOW ! We got 3x fish “n” chips mushy peas and 1/4 pounder with chips and jalapeños . Quality , well priced, well presented, piping hot & fresh. He said The 2 gent owners very pleasant and well experienced in the fish n chip game.This is a game changer for the south end chippys. Iam very disappointed with the dinner meal i have just been served with. As soon as i opened the meal i realised that it was warmed up chips from yesterday re-heated. First and last time i go there. Please check all meals at the counter before u make the mistake i did. Can't believe I've had to give them a forced Star, just to post this message, How bizarre :(

Just got my first chips now chippys open and I must say they were the worst ever would not even give to my dog never to visit again and would advise to give it a miss

Unfortunately all of the food tasted like FAT - and tasteless the Shui Mi undercooked and prawn toast was like a sponge of FAT - The girl behind the counter works very hard - not her fault - I wont be frequenting Georgios ever again

Jan 2020. This place is a stones throw from my house. It has been my regular take out for years and I will not eat there anymore! It had gone through a couple of changes of owners and had gotten worse and worse each time. The last several meals I have gotten from it have been under cooked then overcooked then wet/sloppy/left to sit in juices for hours and completely inedible which led me to posting this. The excellent staff they used to have have all left and the current staff are terrible!! I dont care how late it is and how hungry you are. Go hungry.

Ordered 4 mixed kebabs large enough portions but the meat was cold and had dried out the the degree of unable to eat it. Very disappointing. The sauces were water-indicating they were off and sweet tasting not good. Expensive order to go in bin - will never visit again.

Gone awful the last few months. Gave them a few chances now, food is heavy, like sits on your stomach all night and is nothing like it used be. And every single time something is missing. Poor young girl behind counter

Soy un chef capacitado pero incluso puedo encontrar algo para complementar esto, pedí crujiente carne de res Chioli y arroz frito en un húmedo día martes por la noche. Solo otra persona en el lugar, mi comida fue entregada. en menos de cinco minutos, si hubiera visto lo que me dieron no lo habría aceptado. El arroz frito estaba bien, sin embargo, la carne no estaba crujiente o chile. Se sirvió en una salsa marrón con sabor a salsa y una salsa dulce, en otras palabras desagradable, le diré a todos los que conozco en persona y en las redes sociales para evitar este lugar, no espere una respuesta. Can honestly say one of the worst Chinese meals I have ever ate. Went in a quiet Tuesday night ( 1 other person in ) ordered crispy chilli beef and fried rice, Fried rice was nice. However that's were my joy ended. Beef was neither crispy or Chilli, served in a sauce that was a brown gloop, ( pretty sure it was gravy flavoured with ok brown sauce ) to sweet and sickly, I was recommended this place by friends, going to have to think whether they were ever friends. Dont go unless you have to

Been a great chippy for years but seems to have changed hands a couple of times recently, consequently the staff are not a good as they used to be but food still good. ****Update, it seems to have changed hands again and is now awful. Staff openly sneezing on food and twice in a week chips raw and uncooked. Such a shame as this used to be a really good chippy, but now run by cowboys. Avoid.

I dont like to post alot of negative reviews but in this case I felt I had to. I havent been to this chippy in a long time, I remember it used to be fantastic... Well I spent 16 quid on soggy fish, and chips that where full of black eyes. Me and my family pretty much left it all. The batter seemed undercooked and sloppy. I live around the corner and went straight home, part of the problem was the chips was put ontop of the fish in the bag which made it sweat more. I noticed this when I got home. On a positive note the Girl who served us was very polite and well mannered. Antonia her name was I think.

Used to love this chippy, but with these new servers, need to be trained in health a hygiene, wash you're hands after sneezing in you're hands, keep playing with their hair, get a hair net on will you. Batter on fish very flat a anemic, oh and cheer up.

Went Georgias last night to get my lads some salt and pepper chips , ordered 3 portions £9 it cost . When I got home I cudnt believe how small the portions were . Not at all like they use to be . So tight the 3 portions put together was like a portion of chips you’d get wrapped in paper . Absolutely disgraceful for the price . Won’t be going there again !

Waited forever for my order because the staff didnt now whose order was whose & then food was awful. Not particularly great attitude from the staff either. Used be great but I'm gonna find another chippy to go to now.

Visitamos el viernes por la noche, nos avisaron por teléfono con anticipación para hacer el pedido, cuando llegamos para recoger nos dijeron que el pedido estaba casi listo, 20 minutos después, después de que la mayoría de los alimentos se almacenaban en bolsas mientras esperaban el resto del pedido, me entregaron la comida. luego se retiró nuevamente a medida que faltaban las cosas, finalmente llegué a casa para encontrar artículos que faltaban, cuando volvimos a recoger los artículos omitidos, la comida estaba fría, muy decepcionante

Just treated myself to cod & chips which was damn expensive !! To my annoyance when I got them home, the chips were literally remnants & crispy bits !! If & when I go again shall be having words !! Also, I will ask to inspect before they box it up. They were quick enuff to take my dosh tho !!

Ordered chips x2 gave £10 note and female staff (blonde/grey haired female about 65 yrs old) gave me 30p change when I questioned her she said I only gave her £5!! I’d literally drawn £10 out the ATM prior to going in!! The Owner checked his CCTV and after 10 minutes I was proven right! and given my correct change! I wonder how many others they are scamming! DEMAND TO VIEW CCTV if they try this scam on you! Ey server what was it you said “these cameras are unbelievable”! Aaahhhhaa yer so unbelievable they proved you’re liars!!! Silly sausages! Oh the chips were foul too!

Terrible chips working in the area popped in for a chip barn wish I hadn’t. Chips where a mix of raw over cooked and greasy how that’s possible I don’t know but Georgios managed it..🤷🏻‍♂️ Would not recommended and would not return the place also looked filthy..!! If they cared about there food and cleanliness as much as cctv (9 internal cameras) overkill they would be onto a winner

Just bought curry rice chips and fish cake...terrible food. Threw fish cake away as it was mashed potato in batter...the curry like watee and chips...looked like been warmed through in.oil at least twice

How many times can the old staff mess up your order? It's been about 3 times in the last 3 months. Last time there was over a 1/2 hour wait for an order that was discovered to be wrong again after bringing it home. They did deliver the missing food with a free bottle of coke. Still, when are you going to start getting it right? Two stars. Go to Chris's on Rose Lane.

Very disappointed about my chips with gravy.. seems like they were fried less then a minute! some of them raw couldn't even bite them. Didn't want vinegar which i told them about, but got it anyway.. defo will never go back there or recommend. .
