Georgio's in Wirral

Best chippy I've used in a very long time and they now deliver!! Very clean, friendly staff, I will 100% be ordering again, I even sent an order to my 89 yr old dad and he said he thoroughly enjoyed it

These are probably the best Fish & Chips in the UK! Having traveled around the UK for the past 4 weeks, these are without any doubt, in my opinion, the very best fish & chips the family and I have tasted. From the welcoming staff to being able to sit down and eat the delicious food, the customer experience and value for money was excellent. I ordered a lot of food for sure - a large Fish and Chips with Mushy Peas, a home-made (from scratch) Fish Cake, Curry Sauce (two types - Spicy & Fruity), and a Halloumi Cheese Fritter. They also have a big selection of soft drinks and I chose a cold sparkling Vimto. The batter on the fish, Haloumi cheese and fish cake was the best I have tasted; very light and crispy (like tempura). Needless to say, I was extremely full and satisfied by the end of eating all the tasty food. I would highly recommend Georgio's as the best Fish & Chips on the Wirral, and if you don't have time to drive over to their location in Claughton Village, then they also have online ordering via their app for fast delivery (or you can self pick-up). Five Stars definitely!

Best fish and chips in our area and likely one of the top 3 on the Wirral. Delivery is spot on, food is always spot on. It's a definite go to whether walking in or ordering online via their own app.

Tried the fish dinner deal for the first time tonight both myself and my partner really enjoyed it would definitely be going back just the right amount hard to find a decent chippy this days nice to have one so close guys in there are helpful thank you

Great experience from this local chippy. It has a 5 food rating and definitely shows. The first things I picked up on were the friendly staff and the clean appliances over the counter. There is a seating area inside that looked welcoming. The food itself was brilliant. Chips are as expected but the chicken burger was great! Well cooked and presentable. Presentation really does make this chippy stand out from the rest in my opinion.

I dint normally leave bad feedback, however after being a big fan of Georgios, Birkenhead, for a number of years, so sad to say on this occasion the food was extremely disappointing. Presentation was not good - so surprised when I saw the way my meal was boxed! Unfortunately, after 2 mouthfulls my meal webt straight in the bin . Certainly not up to the standard expected . Won't be visiting again. On the plus, side the guy in charge was very friendly and pleasant

Great food served piping hot.Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere inside the chippy.Has special offers on a Tuesday and seating available for the many students that visit.Fish can be expensive but worth every penny.If you are on a budget try the mini fish chips and peas.

Friendly people and one of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had, definitely best in this part of the Wirral and Liverpool. I think they focus on the fish and chips but I find this as a big plus as it’s better to focus on doing just a few things but of great quality. Hope to see home delivery available at some point

No beef burgers available. Had to get a chicken burger at £3.50 and it was smaller than a mcdonalds chicken burger from the saver menu. Nice enough but so expensive

Smallest portion of chips ive ever seen when I got home opened them half scraps, pie scraps and pot of curry £ 7.00 absolutely scandalous don't waste your money here unless its for kiddies thats the portions you'll be getting just like the students, star rating 1 won't be going there again think she counted the chips, pizza next door 😞😓😩

New customer here! Decided to try somewhere new as I didn't like my local anymore. Really loved every bit of my fish and chips. Decided not to order in advance which was good because even though it was cooked fresh it was quick. Thank you very much - definitely returning. 💜

Went to place first time today while I was out had fabulous service I had eat in chips curry and it was fabulous perfect superb it won't be last time I visit I enjoyed my chips curry today never left anything in tub that's how good it was good local chippy fantastic place highly recommend for mums dad's with kids enjoy eat in or take food away 10/10 for me

Great local chip shop. There is always a choice of cod or haddock. Staff are great and friendly and turnaround is always quick. I can also recommend their line of Aberdeen Angus burgers.

Tried for the first time as it always catches my eye how clean this place is when you go past, food was okay but had nicer, asked for sausage got fishcake but that was okay didn't mind -tasted okay but maybe a touch too minty for my liking, mushy peas not the best nor the cod or the fruity curry but chips were lovely and tasty also a bit pricey but lovely staff

The new premises are great, the old place was very small. Back to business. If you don't mind paying for good quality fish and chips you won't go far wrong. Watch as the daily fish price can change. Its clearly advertised on the back wall, so watch for it. Your fish n chips come in a cardboard box, with a couple of breath holes so your mouth waters all the way home. Portion size could be bigger in my own opinion. That's because my local chippy feeds 5 with a portion of chips lol.... Minus one star for potion size v cost. Would go again if only to impress friends of good fish n chips. Note no card payments at the time of this review cash only.

My partner went in for fish and chips. When the lady put the fish on the paper, he asked her to change it as it was over cooked. She said that it wasn’t and it would be ok. The man behind the counter said he was not wasting a fish! I was unaware of this at the time, however when I started eating it, it was indeed over cooked and was dry and inedible. So much so that I couldn’t eat it, and I love my fish and chips. The fact that my partner had already asked them to change it, but they refused made me realise that there was no point complaining as they wouldn’t be interested. Hence a review instead. We’ve not been back since, and don’t intend to.

plenty of batter instead of fish.overpriced at 6 50. As for the curry sauce took the lid of to find a lump of thick unedible muck yuck. never again.

We regularly purchase from Georgio''s and are pleased to be able to say the meals we have had are second to none. The fish is always fresh, white and very tasty. As we all know the price of fish is expensive and the size of it is to do with the market, not Georgio's. The staff are always friendly and helpful and if there is a problem I know they will do all the can to make it right...fortunately I have never had a ny problems. If you would like a great meal don't forget Georgio's

I'm sad to say, I remember going here in the opening weeks/months and since then I'm sad to say that this place has lost a lot of what made this chip shop good. The fish used to be very big now they don't seem all that big at all the friendly staff now don't seem to have the fire they used to have and sadly the food isn't as good as it used to be. Overall okay food with quick okay service but nowhere near as good as it used to be.

Best chippy on the Wirral! I've been eating Giorgio's fish & chips since they where on Borough Road opposite the old Plaza cinema. Always quality fresh food and friendly chatty staff.

Moved into claughton village and found georgios last week... Chips are lovely (fresh) home made fish cakes and scollops... Milk shakes are gorgeous too... Don't understand why anyone is complaining of price because you get what you pay for...

Ok so I grew up in east yorkshire just by whitby my old local chippy was ranked the best fish and chips in england... georgios is definitely the best around this area the others can not get the batter right,georgios is nice and crisp, as for the other posts... I would think the price is because they use fresh cod not pollock or other rubbish other chippys are known to use along with soggy greasy batter this is definitely the best fish in birkenhead

Grossly overpriced for what is decent food but nothing special.a "small fish" here is same price as "normal"sized fish AND chips,in other chippys in the area.the food is decent but not worth the extortionate prices..total rip off.another reason to avoid this chippy,is the owners son, ignorant,bad mannered and no idea of customer service whatsoever.i used his dad's chippy when they were down by the town hall many years ago,good chippy,good food and good service..the son could take a few lessons from his dad.

Food okay. Was not impressed with the way the guy behind the counter (presumably the owners son) spoke to me like I was a child in a shop full of people.
