Nice little Chinese chippy , good prices and I just had the perfect chips from them I rate it.

I ordered a donner kebab from here I've had a few in the past and this was absolutely vile pitta bread was swimming in fat and the meat was ever so slightly underdone and was freezing cold I only live 5 minutes away absolutely shocked by the standards of the food tonight

Served Donner meat that looked like it had been in a shredder, sat in a a pile of grease and completely inedible then when I phoned I was told that’s how it’s served and that the knife they cut the meat with isn’t good, and said if I wanted a new portion it would be exactly the same! Vile and won’t be ordering again

Absolutely disgusting "chicken kebab" cost over 6 quid n it looks like that, burnt and vile 😷 won't even be getting one from here again shocking!!!!

Fantastic place, make the 20 minute drive there about 3 times a week, can't fault it!

Rip off this place over a fiver for small sausage chips gravy and when I say small I mean small. Chips are cheap and mushy

Cracking place but constantly missing items on takeout orders

Sorry but I’m baffled how places like this manage to survive. Salt and pepper chips were ok, although a bit sweet for some reason and little bit undercooked. Donner meat and chips - meat itself was ok although not cooked enough, salad was in a separate container, chips very undercooked, garlic mayo tasted weird, chilli sauce was just cheap ketchup with added chilli powder, curry sauce was bland… I should have ordered from uni kebab as usual.

Absolutely fantastic! I was staying in the area and really fancied Chinese food. When I saw this option I was a little wary about how good it would be coming from a fish and chip shop. I'm so glad I gave it a chance as it was devine! Would definitely recommend and repeat. Thanks so much.

Omg just called in now for a donner ner kebab it was out of this world I've not had one for ages was going to keep it for my tea later on but it smelt so nice I ate the lot thank you

Ordered food via just eat for it just to get cancelled by the restaurant 35 minutes after I had ordered, gave them a ring to just be told “ohh yeah we have cancelled it because we’re having a problem getting into chester to deliver as we only have one driver on”. Appalling service my advice would be to turn just eat off if you can’t handle delivery rather than accept an order worth £41 to then cancel it after the customer has already been waiting 35 minutes for the food they had ordered

The best takeaway! Certainly a go to for us! The food is always tasty, comes hot and is delivered when they say it will be. The portion sizes are good and the food is really nice! A good chippy Chinese! Also the tango ice blasts are great to have! Highly recommend

We have regularly eaten here over the years. Only ever had one or two disappointing meals (chicken kebab was not what I expected) and dry Donna meat. However this is an otherwise cracking chippy! Delicious Chinese chippy Dishes and crackin Regular chip shop menu. The staff are amazing and service is excellent. Very quick an tasty food ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Ordered online, said food was gonna be 45 mins but came in 35 so first off... good, only thing is RICE is ICE COLD, Microwaving food once its been cooked ruins it, when you've already placed it on a plate and gotta heat it up ruins the sauce... The Sauce dries out as in the crispy chilli beef and rice we ordered... not good... invest in a better rice cooker George, you've been here for decades... I remember you when i was little and going to your place in the 80s/90s and you frying them chips, also call your nephew at Mill lane for tips on Salt & Pepper chips, his don't taste like Lynx Africa.... us blacon have been loyal and give you enough profits, return the favour 🤷‍♂️

Bland, tasteless and overpriced. Chips are over rated, rest of food is over priced. Overall this is NOT GOOD unless you are of the canine variety.

I am seriously fuming here. I ordered my food online at 6.42pm. I get you are busy on a Saturday night. I rung at 7.49pm to ask where my food is. Member of your staff it’s on its way it’ll be with me in 10 minutes. Ok I thought that’s fine. The ten minutes came and went and I rung again at 8.07pm to be told they’ll ring the driver and George’s will ring me back. You didn’t ring me. I had to ring you back again. I told the manager where’s my food coming from planet mars?? Oh my god I live In Blacon literally about half a mile from the parade. The manager said food is in heated bags after I said it’s going to be cold with driver delivering to other people. Offcourse it’s going to be cold on arrival. Do you seriously think I’m going to swallow that? Well guess what it did turn up cold so thanks for that George’s. You ruined my meal that I paid nearly £13.00 for. I’m sorry for the negative review because if you buy food In the shop the food is lovely and hot. I had been at work I don’t expect to eat cold food. I won’t be using your chippy ever again after this disgraceful experience

Fabulous food, best fish, and chips we have had for a long time. Staff are pleasant and very efficient. We would recommend installing their app and ordering online for collection. This is a very busy chip shop, but by using the app, you reduce your wait time. We were given a collection time, and everything was ready and waiting for us.

Arrived late, and had food missing. Rang to chase the missing food, everyone had eaten and finished before they arrived. Very poor.. perhaps consider somewhere else

It's a Chippy what more do you need know, the food is nice it must be said but I would add would suggest you do yourselves a favour and add up your bill before you get to the till... I ordered 2 items of their Asian menu and was asked what would i like with the beef dish (rice,chips or noodles..) telling the lady i was fine without, she added they were included! Ok ill have noodles... she then promptly added an extra £ to the bill.... 'so not included at all' i said thinking i hadn't noticed Oh no sorry they're a pound sarcastically and with the look of a caughtout schoolgirl..... Like i say the food is good... just be on the ball at the till (its up to you )

Best food in Chester. Fish is amazing with real fresh chips, always hot. Chicken kebab one of a kind. All the Chinese dishes are.. the one is better than the other 😋. Best service from lovely staff. We love you all.

Excellent food as always especially the fish and chips

A friend recommended this place and said "they often queue out of the door", a good sign of how popular the place is, and whilst they were actually queuing out of the door the queue went down really quickly and the food was great. We had a pretty big order covering various menu items and everyone of them was a hit. Will be back soon

with working close by we use this chippy all the time the staff are brilliant and the food is always lovely

I've dropped my star rating because the service has gotten terrible they keep hirng young girls that either haven't got a clue about good service or just don't care. I was stood in there for ten minutes tonight, wasn't acknowledged, where I could've asked if they had what I wanted as they were close to closing time. Half an hour earlier than advertised might I add. A woman arrived the same time as I did and was served and gone all before I'd even been spoken to, only to find out they didn't have what I wanted from another customer waiting in there! It's a shame it's the only chippy in blacon. Someone needs to open another and stop this one winning the monopoly.

Never had any issues really besides how expensive it is for small portions, but the other day I was eating and felt something hard which I though was a bone (can deal with that am not squirmish) then I removed from mouth to see it was a staple! It’s still confusing me now as it was literally in the sausage meat. Could be the manufacturer of the sausages or whatever but still weird and dangerous.

I used to love this place but recently I have had the egg fried rice from here on a couple of occasions and have found stuck pieces of rice at the bottom of the dish which looks like it has been over done in the microwave, such a shame.

Couldn't park anywhere, too many people, traffic very busy. Tried twice in a week same outcome popular place though.

Need to get in order with supply and demand. Waited 10 mins to step inside then ordered fish and chips and kebab. Waited 20 mins for chips then saw them take orders from others and some walked away with their order before me. Then chips were empty again and had to wait 15 more mins . Phone orders and deliveries getting precedence over walk ins. GOOD FOOD though . So sort it out please . COOK MORE CHIPS this would be 5 stars if the organisation was better.

What a lovely experience first time buying fish and chips from George,s having driven 40 miles to see family I can honestly say they are the fish and chips we have tasted for a long time customer service is outstanding next we visit Blacon we will be visiting this fish and chip shop again forgot to mention the fruity curry sauce

I usually really love this place but the quality has gone down. The last two times ive been the chips haven't been great. They don't taste good, they just seem to be bad quality and i can only describe the texture to seem undercooked even though the chips are clearly cooked. The chips are also kinda black in places for some reason. A lot the chips are hard too not soft or fluffy like their normal standards. I'm disappointed I'm hoping they just switched suppliers and will switch back once they get a few complaints. The fish cake is still really good along with the curry sauce!

Have used George's for many years but believe since their revamp their meals are just getting better and better. Now taken over as our favourite, not only fish and chip shop but recently Chinese meals have been excellent. Definitely best in Chester. Highly recommended (believe me I am very fussy!!!)

The last time I went into the shop in person I was stood waiting for over 40 minutes whilst heavily pregnant (obviously it was rush hour) but a man stood next to me had been waiting longer for his online order that they completely forgot about and had to redo.. I ordered chicken nuggets and chips with gravy and waited at the side for nearly an hour, as I did I watched multiple people who knew the workers personally be brought to the front of the line and served first. Three sets of chicken nuggets and chips went out and we're given to people who had been served after me. I ended up leaving and going to the takeaway a few shops down instead. I haven't been back since but we used to love the food there so have tried ordering, the past five times my mum has tried to order online the order has taken her money then declined it sometimes up to an hour later and so we stopped trying. Then I recently moved house and decided to order. I was aggressively disappointed as the chicken was gristly and half of the chips were inedible either green or black/brown in colour. Total waste of money in honesty. Won't be using again, customer service and care has gone out of the window completely!

Helpful staff, George the owner is a very nice man. The food is a high standard and well priced. Exceptionally clean it’s not just a chippy it’s a mixed variety of dishes eastern to English. Definitely worth a look.

A full menu and the food is excellent, must try the fruity curry sauce.

Came across this place on my 1st night in Chester staying at a nearby hotel staff were welcoming and the food was amazing would definitely stop by for some great food if your nearby

Just got some food first time since it reopened the Chips, Gravy & Curry were cold had to heat them up when I got home, the Chop Suey Roll most of it stuck to the paper and it was soggy and gooey inside and it all fell apart used to love this chippy but got to say it's awful definitely will never go back Have since been back as was asked to call in by the manager who was lovely and sorted everything out the food was lovely

Really nice chips but the fish batter seemed a little bit oily. Still a gorgeous fish and chips and the mushy peas are first rate. I've been twice now and I will definitely be going back again.
