All round bad experience Waited over an hour with my friend waiting for two small burgers and fries wanted to get to the rugby early but wasn’t possible as waited for food

Really good Sunday lunch, the best in the area for the price. Friendly helpful staff. It’s easily my favourite first choice local pub for drinks, food and meeting friends.

Ordered food at bar at 12.10, took the order. Then told no food available until 2pm, used this pub a few times and usually very good, but very let down on this occasion. Girl behind the bar was very apologetic, but the bloke was short and rude, no apology from him. Sadly won’t be going back

Food was very dissapointing. A burger is £15 but very small and basic. The burger meat tasted like it was frozen. We also ordered a chicken burger that was sold as a buttermilk fried chicken burger, but what came looked more like Tesco chicken goujons in a bun. It was supposed to come with pickles, but it did not. The Halloumi burger was supposed to come with Auburgines, it did not. 2/3 beers we ordered had gone off. Really would not recommend.

Pretty empty but Coco at the bar was very accommodating. Food was lovely, ordered the fried chicken burger, would recommend.

Great pub with music and now independent. Currently serving Greene King beers but apparently they'll be able to give a wider range soon

Shared a roast with a friend and listened to some very impressive live music. Fantastic friendly service from Olly, as always. Great spot!

Thoroughly enjoyed drinks here with my family, they had a great wine selection for the girls and good beers for my son and grandson. I can’t commend Euan and Liv enough for how welcome I felt. Can’t wait to return

A great pub, I went whilst visiting family in the area, the atmosphere was nice with lots of screens to watch the rugby, a very large selection of wines and spirits. The young man behind the bar Euan was fantastic and couldn't of been more helpful and welcoming. I will definitely be returning

Amazing place to go for drinks. Euan is great on the bar and pours a perfect pint. They have a darts board as well that me and the girls play.

I would consider myself a regular at Greene King pubs, and The George is one of my favourite pubs to come to in the area, but recently the quality of service in The George has been going downhill and it makes me very sad to see. I came in last week on Sunday (3/11/24) to find dirty plates, glasses and rubbish all over the tables, even though they were empty. The guy behind the bar was just sat on his phone and looked as if he really couldn’t be bothered to be there. Even though I arrived 45 minutes to an hour before the kitchen closed I was told that the kitchen was closed and I couldn’t order any food. I was disappointed but then why would I want to stay in a dirty environment where the staff don’t care anyways. When I visited again the following Sunday (17/11/24) and ordered food, I waited 45 minutes before going up and asking (the same guy as last week!) on the bar how long the wait for food would be. I got told that the chef had left the kitchen unannounced for 20 minutes but had returned and was catching up on 10 food orders, so it would be another 20 minutes before my food would arrive. I even heard someone mention they needed food to take their medication, but they got told that they would have to wait while the staff ate food behind the bar, which is incredibly rude. In total I waited for over an hour and a half for all of my food to arrive. Personally I think this is unacceptable from staff, especially when the pub is busy at dinner time due to football. Adding insult to injury when my food finally arrived I wasn’t given any cutlery, and had to get up to enquire about where to get cutlery from! I’m not sure what the issue is with the new staff being hired, but it really feels like none of them have the incentive to be on shift and would much rather stand around and watch the football than serve customers, which makes for a very disappointing visit as a customer. I can only imagine that this is not up to the Greene King standard, and if anyone higher up found out about how poorly The George has been performing recently they would be extremely disappointed.

Great pub plays great music friendly staff and generally a nice friendly pub

The service was rapid, and their food is excellent. I would visit, any time there is sports to watch. Highly recommend!

I popped into The George en route to another venue, but was a tad early. It was very early evening so as it turned out, I was the only customer. Despite that, I was genuinely welcomed by the bar staff. The place felt 'right' and comfy. Looking at the menu, I will definitely try their Sunday turkey roast! Very good prices..

I previously (accidentally) posted my review for the actual stadium here instead of the George. We came here before the game; good pre rugby atmosphere, easy to get drinks at the bar. Is a bit further from the stadium than some of the other places which made it ideal for actually getting a seat

Paid a quick visit late Friday night, luckily they were still serving food. Chose 5 of the small plates to share and some extra fries which were lovely, all washed down with a couple of large cokes! Fantastic service, fabulous food, shame about the really loud music everywhere, found it hard to actually have a conversation, but overall a lovely pub

Nice pub with good service. Outdoor and indoor area is nice and the pints are always good. Often times it’s quite empty except for some days, but if you looking for a calm environment it’s the place to go.

I. visited George Twickenham bar recently and had a mixed experience. The drinks were okay, nothing too special. The service was a bit sloppy and the tables were uncomfortable. However, I did appreciate the quirky touch of the Calvin and Hobbes comics collage in the bathroom. It added a fun and unique element to the overall atmosphere. With some improvements in service and comfort, this could be a great spot to hang out.

The Food and drink prices were very reasonable. My friend and I went there on a very warm day ,yet it was quite cold inside the pub as well as quite dark, thankfully they have a beer garden (with a bar) so we could enjoy a drink in the sunshine. The outside of the place isn't very attractive and quite old.

Used to be a fantastic place to go after a Rigby match. Got asked to leave as we had our 16 year old son with us. Apparently that’s fine before a game but not after. Have frequented this pub as a group of 30 for over 20 years. Never again. Absolutely appalling management. Such a shame. Used to be a great place.

An amazing pub! Amazing staff! Amazing food! Came in with a friend for a catch up and everything was amazing the staff was super friendly I believe the barman was called Euan and he was happy to help no matter what! The food was also cooked to perfection and was reasonably priced, would definitely come again

The food tasted alright. They did over cook half of our plates. The chicken breast that came with my meal was so small I ate it in 4 bites. I was so disappointed and hungry I went to Gregg's after. It was about the same size as a single chicken tender I have had. Not really that bad but I won't be going again. If you're looking for a pub lunch in Twickenham. Then you come across the George. Keep looking.

Went there with a friend on our motorbikes, we were soaked to the bone and decided to go the this pub. The food was amazing!! And the staff even more lovely and accommodating! Especially TJ who was really chatty and made us feel welcome and Madelina who was the manager who helped us out massively and was so kind and chatty! Thank you guys you were amazing! ❤️

Beers and shuffleboard - great combo

Decent bog standard chain pub. Better than Spoons, not quite as good as an independent pub. Bacon burger simple and nice. Good selection on tap, good garden area, great staff.

Bar staff very friendly, great pub to watch football both inside or out in the garden. No deals on drinks which is a shame but other than that is probably the best pub in Twickenham

It's a pub. Staff could work better. They spend a lot of time chatting with friends, or other barstaff. Work is secondary. Some work harder than most. Management seem to throw a blind eye to it. If you sacked 50 percent that do nothing , your bar would work better. Really take a customers eye it's awful to watch. It could be so much better!!!

Watched the women's football world Cup final here, the first round was on the house 🏠 which was a fantastic gesture by the George, shame the game didn't live up to this.

Just dropped in for a couple of alcohol-free beers on my way somewhere else. The place was virtually empty, and pretty soulless. I recall this pub from 10-15 years ago, and in those days it used to be packed, and had an amazing vibe. Maybe I just visited at a quiet time. I have to say, though, that the service was excellent, and the sole member of staff there was very pleasant and efficient. There's not a huge selection for non-drinkers, but I certainly recommend the Lucky Saint 0.5% abv. Most refreshing!

Was a Sunday a little quite, big garden nice loo and spacious inside bar tender was very efficient dealing us the drink.

George's restaurant in Twickenham is really good. The staff are helpful and the food is delicious. The place looks nice and is comfortable, perfect for any kind of get-together. Even though it's a bit pricey, it's worth it because you get excellent food and service. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Not very impressed lost my Boots black glasses case here yesterday and bar staff said nothing handed In. I rang several times to check no answer. Not funny when coming from gig and crowds of people around. Food is ok but shame too much sauces. Lovely shandy. Warning can get noisy with table football.

Went to the George to watch the footy. Great atmosphere. Garden was bliss Seth behind the bar was friendly and efficient. Will be back again for the next game. Also bar staff member named mason was brilliant, very nice chap

It's a great pub for watching sports. A better than average selection of beer and the food is also pretty good.
