George & Dragon in Conwy

First time visiting this pub, our experience was brilliant, the staff and service very friendly the food was delicious and a nice atmosphere. We had an assortment of small plates and all were cooked to perfection. Will definitely be booking again, at last we have found a local pub which makes you want to visit again.

Appalling treatment of one of the members of staff making false accusations toward me and humiliating me without any ground with there accusations then I tried to explain he wouldn’t listen and then brought over a bunch of older men (I’m 18) to come over and man handle me out and intimidate me

Poor service, very rude and not friendly like would not go anytime soon plus the beer was warm and disgusting, worst pub in Abergele

Decided to give the George a try for a change so arrived around 5pm on Tuesday evening. We went into the and to the bar to ask for a menu only to be told the kitchen was closed and when I asked was this just for today the barman said it closed because it was too quiet so we weren’t very impressed and naturally took our business elsewhere. I think perhaps staggered times for serving food would be better rather than offering food all day if the kitchen opening times aren’t reliable. Another observation was seeing a dog lay on the seating area. While I’m all for dogs being allowed in pubs as I have one myself, I don’t think they should be allowed on the seats where customers will be sitting

Steak & ale pie is a must to eat here so tasty , my partner had the gammon and said the same 10/10 , we came 11/02/2024 great place an very friendly staff

Went to Abergele from Essex to see a friend went past this pub went in had a beer each day staff were so polite and welcoming the real ale was superb I'm back in Essex now but will certainly be going there again this year when i visit Abergele again highly recommended

You ain't gonna find a better place for a chilled drink and a place to celebrate or eat or anything for that matter me and my family have been coming here for years and this place and the people that work there are just brilliant.

Used this traditional pub for a family get together meal before Christmas and it was a lovely place. Only problem was the wait for food but it was crowded so it was understandable. Only really popular venues have problems with waiting times for freshly cooked food but everyone was so friendly that it wasn't really a huge problem.

Visited the George and Dragon again today for early evening meal, I have to say the food never fails to impress here. Two fish, chips and mushy peas and a Buttermilk Chicken burger with Chips and salad. Every meal was thoroughly enjoyed, the fish batter was exceptionally good and the chips were cooked to perfection. Food is excellent value for money with Fish and Chips on a Friday being £9.50, this includes a drink. Presentation and service is also very good. The atmosphere is relaxed and happy with a really warm welcome from staff and the landlady Michelle to everyone who walks through the door. You really couldn’t ask for more from a pub, but you get it, with a great sense of community being extended to everyone. The pub has also recently undergone a bit of a refurb and now looks much brighter. We as locals really love being part of this community, so well done Michelle and staff, a great success has been created here in Abergele, would recommend everyone try this pub, you will love it 😊

A shocking fish finger sandwich , no butter , no garnish, cheap white bread looked uncooked . No tartare sauce . I Woukdnt give it to anyone even an enemy .

Can’t recommend this highly enough - from the friendly and helpful landlords ensuring my daughter and her baby and mother in law’s privacy and accessibility needs were met, to the high quality and excellent value meals - cracking pub and definitely worth a visit

Can't comment on the food as the kitchen had shut early, however the staff where pleasant and welcoming, made a fuss over my dog and the prices were alright.

Popped in for a drink at lunchtime. Food looked delicious. So stopped for lunch. Food was as good as it looked. Great service and very friendly. Dog friendly too will definitely be going again 😊

Went to here tonight for something to eat and oh my god the food was absolutely beautiful from the starters to the mains everything was hot and cooked perfectly and the staff were absolutely fantastic polite we will be back with other friends and family well done you all

Nice little pub restaurant in Abergele. Parking is at the library car park, to the right. The food is great and the service is faultless. I would recommend to visitors in the area.

Another excellent meal this afternoon. New menu at the George due to its ongoing success since Michelle took over around 4 month ago. Lots of choice on the menu and deals on Monday to Thursday. Went with my hubby and daughter and we had a fish and chips with mushy peas, half cooked chicken with garlic dressing, chips and side salad and a cheese and bacon burger. All the food was really tasty, my husband thought the fish batter was really good and fish was really tasty. Chicken was cooked well and the garlic butter sauce was to die for 😋 My daughter had the Jaffa Jonut Sundae, to say it was really enjoyed would be an understatement! All the meals were well presented and great value for money. The George and Dragon is a really great place, great for families and evenings out, staff are really friendly, helpful and like a good chat with customers, landlady Michelle is doing a great job of turning this pub into a great community place for everyone, can’t recommend it highly enough

Have been visiting this pub quite a few times over last 4 months. We felt welcomed from the very beginning and met a lot of the locals. We must have tried almost everything on the mains food menu, never disappointed. A real pub. Special thanks to Michelle, Kev and young Ben. Also new Chef Andy.

The George and Dragon is a family friendly pub in the heart of the community in Abergele. The fish, chips and pint special on a Friday is great value got money at £10, plentiful and tastes fantastic.

Me and the husband visited on the way home from a camping holiday. We met the lanlady Michelle who was very welcoming and super friendlywe ordered fish & chips and a curry for myself. We were told there was a waiting time on food as it was busy we only waited around 30 minutes but was it worth the wait the food was cooked beautifully and the ale batter my husband let me taste was amazing and the hubby has never had as nice elsewhere so big thumbs up from us both...Will visit again when next in the area many thanks

We had a lovely lunch of a fishfinger sandwich, and the all day breakfast. My husband has a serious food allergy which can make eating out difficult in some places, as we're made to feel like a nuisance, but not here. Everything was checked, without any awkwardness at all. Michelle was friendly, welcoming, and an absolute natural in the job. We'll definitely be back when next in the area.

A wonderful meal in the George and Dragon this afternoon. We both had fish and chips with mushy peas. Fish batter was perfect and the fish was a good size and very tasty. Lovely tasting chips and mush peas were perfect. Food presentation was excellent as was portion size. The atmosphere in the pub is warm and welcoming, bar staff/bar manager really friendly and always has time to chat. Michelle the landlady is the perfect host. A great local pub and would recommend it to everyone whether you want food or just a drink. You couldn’t get a more welcoming pub to go too.

We have had many lunches in the George and Dragon over the years, but this was the first time under new management. We were not disappointed. My wife the chicken and ham pie which was clearly really tasty. I had the fish and chips which I really enjoyed, particularly the Crispy batter. We were informed by a very friendly and efficient barman that kids eat free during summer holidays. Bonus! My daughter had fishfingers, chips and beans, followed by ice cream. She absolutely loved it! Chips can be pretty boring but these were delicious, crinkle cut and very moreish. Clean plates all round! I noticed that the landlady did all the cooking, and she did so perfect. The meals were brought to the table by a very polite young lad. I'm sure he has a bright future on hospitality. When I received the bill, I assumed they had made a mistake. £20 with a round of drinks! Exceptional value. Even without the deals it would be well worth it. Keep up the good work!

No food available, Sat tea tea time just before Spurs v utd, 1 young lad serving a busy bar, stood for a good 10 minutes before getting served. Beer was good but the 2 girls had cocktails, which was poor in presentation and detail. Atmosphere good if you like footy, will be going back when food is being served as heard it is good.

Sat in the beer garden with our dog Frank 🐕. Had a few drinks and met the local they were so friendly.

Came for breakfast after turned away by another cafe. Super friendly, couldn't do enough to help. Great for dog owners even got him a bowl of water and biscuits! Will be back for sure if in the area again!

We visited here whilst on holiday. Super service and very friendly. Food was hot and tasty and all dietary requirements were adhered to. Really dog friendly (he even had a treat!). Staff couldn't do enough for you. We will definitely visit again on our next trip to Wales!

An friendly pub in the centre of Abergele and under new management this pub is going from strength to strength. Community minded, free meals for children in the holidays, and fun themed evenings. The quiz night is a great laugh. If you want to eat good food at realistic prices and chat with locals and visitor alike, give the George and Dragon a go. You won't be disappointed.

This pub was fab for a meal, great food, to celebrate my grandaughters birthday, Michelle and her staff could not do enough for us, even cut a cake we took for celebrating and really good value for money , thankyou to her and her great staff!

I attended this pub with 8 others for dinner and none of us have ever eaten at such an awful place before. Service was slow, they hardly had anything we asked for, my daughters pizza was a slice of white toast with cheese and sauce on it, the garlic bread was toast with butter, the veggie chilli nachos weren’t edible (see pic), small kids sized burgers for adults, bland food… to top it off flies everywhere! Totally ruined the last night of our holiday!

Absolutely banging night on Friday! The dj karaoke lady was outstanding, music was on point and she engaged with all the customers throughout the night and definitely uplifted my spirits! I’m definitely coming back next week! We would definitely recommend

I visited the George & Dragon with my Husband and some friends last night for tea and I was amazed at such a fantastic menu with so many Vegetarian and Vegan options 😍 You can tell a huge effort has gone in to creating a menu with a huge variety of V food (the Shicken was delicious!). The whole menu was such good value for money. The barman who took our order and spoke to us to check if we were ok or needed anything else was lovely and friendly, had a great sense of humour and took care of us despite being rushed off his feet.
