Just home from cottage loaf booking for 2 have to say very dissapointing this visit food was luke warm at best and very chilly in the room had to wear scarf round neck shoulders very cold night and think the log fire should of been lit upset this visit

This pub is only dog friendly if you sit outside.

An interesting pub. Being next door to a Weatherspoons seems to mean they have to be good to compete. Well worth a try if you need somewhere to eat in Llandudno.

Visited here on a weekend away, stopped by for nibbles and live entertainment! The ambience is amazing and staff very pleasant! We have even booked for lunch the next day! Very welcoming 🥰

Visit Llandudno quite often but never knew about this place 'til now. What a find. Great pub in the centre of town, atmosphere A1, food de..lish and friendly staff oh and a great log fire. .

Cosy atmosphere, great food, and staff were more helpful than I could've imagined. We visited when there was a loss of water in the local area and staff made us aware as soon as they knew it would impact here. We panic ordered 2 main dishes based on the staff recommendations and they were both faultless (seafood linguine and rarebit). Friendly place that 100% recommended. It is also dog friendly 😁

It was my 69th birthday and the cottage loaf was the ideal place to go delicious food lovely staff and a nice big log fire I had the beef an chorizo pie sorry no photo I'd eaten it before I realised I hadn't taken a photo

My review is feedback for the team so they know how our visit was today not really for the benefit of other future guests You have a fantastic looking pub, warm welcome, great fresh food which you can tell is made with care and attention well done kitchen team, service was also very good, the manager was working the room and chatted to any guest that wanted to (sorry didn’t catch her name), very good visit overall, pity we don’t live closer to support this pub I’d be in more than I probably should haha! Well done team! We’ll be back the next time we’re back in the area, Clean cutlery, clean glassware, clean table, clean toilets, tidy outside space, team looked very presentable but casual, activity sheets for the children, smaller Sunday roast menu with a small number of normal dishes focusing on quality (always a good sign), great selection of cask and wine Great standards all round keep up the great work

We booked a late deal in Llandudno for a weekend and used Google to find somewhere to eat on the Friday when we arrived. The Cottage Loaf came up with good reviews so we ( very easily) booked a table online. We weren't disappointed. Not feeling that hungry, I went for deep fried battered Brussel sprouts and king prawn and crab linguine and my wife had scallops and goats cheese salad. All absolutely delicious with fantastic service. So good, we went in on the off chance there was a table on Saturday night ( they were fully booked online) and got lucky. Pork belly for me, best I've ever had and my wife had steak and ale pie, it was packed to the crust and she said it was beautiful. Book early, you won't be disappointed.

It is a must-visit if you are starving and want a nice meal and great beers! The atmosphere is warm, and the service is prompt!

Been here twice now, both for Sunday roast and both times it was superb. Very quick to get the food out and it was hot. All the food looks very nice so can't wait to return to try other dishes. Would recommend booking as it can get busy.

Really nice pub, with pleasant but an overworked team. Food was nice but be aware the pie of the day can be a slice of pie and unless you ask its swimming in gravy which isn't everybody's thing so you may wish to ask for it on the side.

What a find on a visit to Llandudno. On a cold, wet, very dark Tuesday night looking for somewhere to eat. All the restaursnts we passed were dead! Went into the CL and it was packed. We were very lucky to get a table. Excellent menu, the food is very good, excellent seevice, great atmosphere.

Met my family their as I was outside a worker came out baring in mind He already came out as he's a waiter second time he came out told me that my 2 YEAR OLD CHILD couldn't eat her own food all because it wasn't ordered at the establishment, not happy at all ,very disgusted!!

Called in for Sunday Roast on the recommendation of friends. Lovely food and excellent service from very busy staff. Will definitely eat there again when next in the Llandudno area.

Great food and some really nice real ales, but I got the feeling that one of the younger female members of staff just didn't want to be there. However this will not stop me from returning.

We had a bottle of red wine before going elsewhere for dinner because we wasn't keen the menu. Popular and lovely pub.

We first found the cottage loaf while looking for somewhere to park the van, we didn't know it would be such a hidden treasure, but now we hope there's room for us when coming to Llandudno, I'd definitely recommend it but almost don't want to as we'd never get a table 😅.

Incredibly quaint little pub that makes you feel like you've traveled back in time. The beers were plentiful and the food was amazing. I ordered a Steak and Ale pie and was stuffed at the end of my meal. It was probably the heartiest steak pie I've ever had, was served hot, and came out pretty quickly. The kitchen did close a bit early -- I believe at 8:30 on the weeknight I popped in. Staff was also really nice, you order everything at the bar but that didn't stop them from checking in on me at my table a few times.

Location/pub itself is really nice but the food is so disappointing, if I was the chef I would be embarrassed to send the food out. The food doesn’t match what it says on the menu - Sunday dinner roast beef ‘served pink’ was actually sent out well done and the Parmesan fries with truffle ‘emulsion’ when the emulsion was just a truffle mayo. If the chef doesn’t know what an emulsion is, don’t try and blindside the public with fancy words and just say what it is - mayo. Nut roast was a mush, carrots were practically raw.. couldn’t even pass them off as al dente. The cabbage was bland, cauliflower tasted like frozen veg and not fresh, potatoes were bland and not crispy or fresh, Yorkshire puddings sent out cold. Overall just bland bland bland.. and the biggest red flag was when it took less than 5 minutes from ordering to bring out 2 roast dinners and sides! Should’ve known from that moment it would be abysmal. At least one of the roast dinners was comped but whole meal was a waste of money.

An always busy pub is always a good one. This fits both criteria perfectly. The atmosphere here is very welcoming, and the lively chatter from guests is a delight, no tellies, no background music, no live bands, great! Came for drinks on a busy Saturday afternoon. Bar staff were friendly and helpful, and plenty of draught beers on offer. We didn't eat but the food looked absolutely amazing, so we'll definitely be back soon to try that.

Went on a Saturday, very busy, lots of people eating very close to each other. Food ok but not exceptional.

Have tried to book a table at this pub before numerous of our visits to Llandudno over the past few years & it was always booked up ! This time my husband and I were visiting in November, out of season, & we finally managed to get a table booked before our stay !!! It was worth the wait & we could see why it's so popular. The pub is attractively decorated like a traditional country pub, with open fires, it looks small from the outside but has been extended & for the summer there is plenty of outdoor seating out front & in a courtyard. The staff were excellent, very efficient & pleasant. The menu had plenty of choice, mostly traditional British dishes but some with a twist. My husband really enjoyed his gammon chop with excellent chips, fried egg, cooked pineapple & peas. My steak & ale pie was full of tender meat, I swapped the mash for chips & the broccoli for peas with no problems, also I had carrots & gravy & it was wholesome & filling. The only thing that wasn't spot on was the pie pastry, it was rather soggy & nondescript, however the pie filling was so good it didn't matter. We stayed in the pub for another drink after our meal, it was a pleasant place to stay on a November evening. The Cottage Loaf prices aren't cheap but we felt it was worth it for an enjoyable, filling meal. We were glad to finally try the pub & we would definitely visit again, we would advise people to book it several weeks before their visit to Llandudno to ensure a table, especially in the summer, you can book online.

Went today 17/11/24 had 2 turkey and one shoulder of lamb lunches ,all came plated up with vegetables and Yorkshire pudding on the plate , bit like a staff canteen .had to send 2 meals back as basically they were only lukewarm ,the replaced meals were No better ,the roast potatoes were still cold inside ,,the meat was placed on top of purred Swede or similar, half a carrot ,3 roast potatoes and a Small portion of shredded cabbage ,at £18.95 and£20.95 no way appetising or value for money, surely it's not too difficult to serve HOT food and have vegetables served Separately , won't be returning

Stood at the bar for 5 minutes. 2 managers/ supervisors not interested in serving anyone. 2 bar staff ignored me completely and started tidying bar whilst I stood there holding a payment card. This is supposedly a highly rated place but I wouldn't set foot in it again.

Went here for Sunday lunch, had a premonition booked table, lovely atmosphere especially in the older part of the building, great service, great food, Yorkshire puddings amazing, reasonable price. My only criticism is a little more veg would be nice. Mind your head if your over 6 ', I'm 6'3".

What a stunning pub. The service is what you would expect from and 5 star hotel and they did everything they possible could to make are meal amazing. With food there was 8 of us and all of it was exceptional especially mine which was the trio of meats roasts. It was just a good experience we went to the sister pub that week in Conyw which was also brilliant

Buena comida. Teníamos cóctel de gambas y paté para empezar y el vientre de cerdo y cordero para nuestra red. Todo parecía recién cocinado y era muy sabroso. Muy ocupado, pero el servicio era eficiente y amable. No es la comida bub más barata, pero la calidad valió la pena.

Magnífico Domingo Asado Llegaron sin reserva previa y se sentaron después de una corta espera. Era claramente una opción popular para los lugareños también. Opté por un plato más pequeño cena asada que era aproximadamente £ 5 más barato, pero no stint en la cantidad y me hubiera encantado pagar por un plato principal completo. Absolutamente delicioso asado de cordero. Increíble salsa y patatas asadas! Vale la pena. 5 estrellas

Had an excellent Sunday roast with my family. They were fully booked but still managed to squeeze an early table at midday for us. The food, service and atmosphere - all 5 stars. The food was delicious, hot and freshly prepared - all evident from the empty plates left in front of us. Highly recommended.

This place smells awful, really off-putting, we were going to stay for food but the literally nauseating smell of fish was just too much, we had one drink which we had to drink outside because of the smell? I also over heard the staff being quite rude to a couple of people, so definitely not somewhere I would go again and I definitely wouldn't recommend if you have a weakness stomach because the fishy meal is completely over powering 🫣🤢🤮🫣

We hadn't booked (which i highly recommend!!) but as a party of 2, we were was offered a place in the end of a reserved table...giving Us 1.5hr , plenty of time for a 2 course meal ... The service was very efficient and yet friendly....sometimes that's lost. We had a really good meal...prices were London prices (a local said it was posh but we didn't think so...) Would have gone again but didn't fit in with our schedule...

Arrived with no booking but they accomodated us gracefully and found us a table in minutes, the food was lovely & so were the staff. Would highly recommend.

We were really looking forward to eating here as I'd read that it was dog friendly. Unfortunately we didn't eat here as it was late in the day and the temperature was dropping. This establishment doesn't allow dogs inside. We just had a drink outside which is a pleasant environment.

Took a while to get seated but to be fare they were busy and we hadn't booked .meal was okay would call again ,just seemed to busy to make it special.

Amazing food, what a hidden gem this place is. The staff were extremely friendly and the food outstanding. Everything arrived so quick, definitely worth a visit if your in the area! 👏

Okay, so not only was our meal delicious and perfectly cooked, but the staff here go above and beyond! We had a table booked for 7 of us for my friend's birthday. In my infinite wisdom, I had decided to make a chocolate cake with cream cheese & Bailey's frosting. Icing cakes is not a skill I have at the best of times. By the time I had got to Llandudno, the icing had pooled off the side of the cake and leaked out of the cake box. This is where the Cottage Loaf superheroes stepped in. They quickly put the cake in their freezer, then when it came to the time to serve it, they transferred it to one of their plates and made it look fairly decent again! They also washed up my cake box because it was smothered in gooey frosting. I can't thank them enough. They turned what could have been a birthday cake disaster into a proper celebration. They even sourced a candle from somewhere to make it more special. I will definitely be going back, but will rely on their desserts next time rather than trying to make my own. Cannot recommend this restaurant / pub enough. Oh, and considering the quality of the food, the meal was reasonably priced too. An absolute treasure of a place in the heart of Llandudno. Parking is easy too. PS - they do a wide range of alcohol-free drinks which is a massive bonus if you are a driver like me.

Lovely find in a side street just off the front of Llandudno. Great looking menu and all the food passing my table looked lovely. Service was efficient and friendly. A popular place due to how full and busy it was on a Monday night in October when I visited. Would recommend

Loved it! After a full day of exploring, this really hit the spot for some dinner. The curried sweet potato soup, pork belly and all the sides were perfect. Definitely a winner.

The best lamb roast I’ve ever had, the meat just fell apart absolutely delicious. The service was fantastic everyone was very welcoming and great atmosphere. I believe you normally should book as it gets busy but luckily they fitted us in. Thanks

We enjoyed a lovely meal here last Sunday. The food was delicious and plentiful. The staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. A biggie for me is that The Cottage Loaf do not allow dogs inside. So refreshing. I was able to relax and enjoy my meal without constantly scanning the pub for animals. Well done Cottage Loaf. Long may that continue!

Food seriously over priced the burger I had was nice but that's all not worth the money A lovely place

First time visit, earlier this week (Monday). We popped in for lunch whilst in the area. We hadn't booked, but thankfully, they had a spare table for us. I had the Chilli Beef Frankfurter off the "Oktoberfest" menu, which I thoroughly enjoyed and my partner had the Argentinian King Prawn Risotto which she also couldn't fault. Service was professional and we had a very pleasant experience from start to finish. We'll definitely return next time we're in Llandudno. Cheers guys 👍
