A Heartfelt Thank You to Gelateria Danieli: l'd like to share a very special review for an extraordinary company. A couple of weeks ago, my grandmother, Sheila, was admitted to the hospital due to terminal cancer. By chance, she ended up in the same ward as the wonderful Bridget, one of the owners of Gelateria Danieli. During their time together, Bridget brought much-needed laughter, support, and care to all the ladies in the ward. She truly was a ray of sunshine and a real angel on earth. Beyond her kindness, Bridget took the time to learn what chocolates my grandmother enjoyed and what she didn't. As a beautiful gesture, she sent us a box of chocolates, free of charge, to our home. The chocolates were delicious, but the thought and care behind them made them even sweeter. We will always remember Bridget's kindness and the warmth she brought to my grandmother and our family. Thank you, Bridget, and thank you to Gelateria Danieli, for making a difficult time a little brighter.

I tried their pistachio hot chocolate after seeing it on TikTok. It does taste nice but it’s by no means real chocolate, it’s more of a chocolate pudding so it’s a bit thicker but still powdered.

It’s a cozy cafe tucked into an alley. This was introduced to me by my friend and ever since then this place became my go to spot. It’s such a soothing experience to sit in a park bench enjoying the nature with the sip of the thick and smooth hot chocolate. You will definitely melt in for the texture and richness of their hot chocolate. Above all , it’s reasonably priced. The ice creams and coffees are good too !

I'm tired of this place changing their prices all the time, they went from 3 to 3.5 and now to 4 pounds for their hot chocolate all in a span of less than a year. They even charge 4 pounds for one scoop of ice-cream. One of the reasons I loved this place was for their reasonable pricing, but the fact that they keep increasing it every 2-3 months and don't change anything I am going to be looking for other alternatives. Considering Richmond is also zone 5 and not anywhere near central London, there is absolutely no reason for them to be increasing their prices so rapidly and charging so much. Just disappointed.

The hot chocolate was underwhelming to me. It definitely contained a lot of starch or other thickening agent and had the corresponding side taste and weird texture. Thick hot chocolate is great but it should but genuine. Maybe they have good gelato but I’d definitely avoid the hot chocolate. The staff was nice and the atmosphere inside was good

Estoy cansado de que este lugar cambie sus precios todo el tiempo, pasaron de 3 a 3. 5 y ahora a 4 libras por su chocolate caliente todo en un lapso de menos de un año. Incluso cobran 4 libras por una cucharada de helado. Una de las razones por las que me encantó este lugar fue por sus precios razonables, pero el hecho de que siguen aumentando cada 2 - 3 meses y no cambian nada voy a estar buscando otras alternativas. Teniendo en cuenta que Richmond es también la zona 5 y no está cerca del centro de Londres, no hay absolutamente ninguna razón para que estén aumentando sus precios tan rápidamente y cobrando tanto. Sólo decepcionado.

Not a great gelato sorry. The taste/sweetness level are bearable, the texture just isn't. Very gluey, tough to eat too much of it. Maybe some binding agent, not sure, overall the gelato is just pretty disappointing. There is a lot better around

Ice cream was good, but not quite great. Service was okay. There are plenty flavours to choose from, but they were a little disappointing. The ambience was severely hampered by how busy the place was, they became very famous and their location is not the best for large crowds, I would still prefer it over places like Venchi though.

I recently visited this gelateria and I have to say that the hazelnut and pistachio ice cream completely won me over. The taste is absolutely superb, balanced and full of flavor – simply as expected. If you're in Richmond and looking for ice cream to blow your mind, this is without a doubt the best in the area. I recommend with all confidence!

Thé service was great. The staff were kind and friendly. There is not much to say about the ambiance. It is casual. The gelato wasn’t tasty, but the hot chocolate was great.

Beautiful parlour located in a tiny little alley in Richmond. The ice cream is incredible and the selection of flavours are to die for. There’s a flavour for everyone and if you’re into ice cream a little or a lot this is the place to go. The staff are really nice and friendly and the service is swift. Slots straight into my top 2 ice cream parlours in London. Definitely going to revisit and highly recommend.

Really tasty ice cream but I’m posting a review as I went there recently & they’ve put their prices up to £4 for a single scoop but reduced their scoop sizes which were never very generous anyway but are now really pretty small. Even though the ice cream is great, this was disappointing so won’t be going there again.

I have to be honest, I just came back from a holiday in Italy where I had ice cream every single day twice, and this ice cream is nowhere close to being even remotely good compared to what I had there. I think people is just getting accustomed with sub-par ice cream, and on top of that they ask 4 pound for a scoop? Come on you are joking surely! Anyway I had three single scoop ice creams with three different flavours: one cherry, which was basically cream and tasted nothing like cherry. The second one kinder Bueno, which tasted weird and I couldn't tell what that tasted like. The third one was "milk chocolate" which strongly tasted like cheap cocoa powder mixed with milk. Disappointed.

The lady at the counter made a bold statement that they have the best pistachio ice cream, so I had to try, right? My goodness, it is really delicious, the best pistachio ice cream I have ever had. Seriously. The other flavours are of course great too. Only shame it is a bit far for me, otherwise would be here every day. Oh, and be prepared for queues on most sunny days, but customers are swiftly served and the ice creams are well worth the few minute wait.

Been coming here since it opened in 2005 and it has remained a 10/10 gelateria throughout. By far the best gelateria in London and rivals even the best of them in Italy. Can't recommend enough.

Fui con mis hijos a Gelateria Danieli el lunes pasado (festivo bancario) al final del día para tomar helado y chocolate caliente. Había una línea para ordenar (molesto pero no es gran cosa). Frente a nosotros, había una gran familia (4 adultos y 4 niños) y pudimos ver al único empleado realmente infeliz e inpaciente. Pidió a los niños que no tocaran el vidrio de la exhibición de helados y, cuando la señora pidió tres sabores en un bollo pequeño, dijo que no podía hacerlo. Su esposo pidió reemplazar el bollo pequeño por uno más grande, lo que hizo el asistente pero sin tratar de ocultar su mal humor. Cuando la familia pidió un chocolate caliente, el tipo dijo que no más bebidas calientes por el día. Cuando fue mi turno, le pregunté al asistente por qué no había más bebidas calientes y él simplemente dijo que estaba solo en la tienda y había una fila 15 minutos antes de la hora de cierre, así que decidió no preparar más bebidas calientes. En resumen, los niños dejaron las manos vacías (querían el famoso chocolate caliente) y pedí un helado, que, para ser honestos, estaba muy bueno. Pero toda esta mala experiencia de servicio arruinó la experiencia. Trataré de dar otra oportunidad, pero estaba realmente decepcionado con la forma en que tratan a los clientes.

I have eaten a lot of ice cream in my 45+ years on this planet and I can say with full confidence that this is some of the best I have ever had!! They were also very sensitive and supportive to serve my son with a nut allergy. There are separate scoops for every flavor and the server even recommended which flavors were the least at risk of cross contamination. Charming little spot; does get crowded considering how popular (and delicious) it is!

Seen this place on instagram and thought I’d check it out. I love a hot chocolate but this is more of a pudding. I couldn’t finish it. I’m aware that this is typical of a traditional Italian hot chocolate but people should be aware this is more solid although it is good value. It’s not faint hearted!

My girlfriend has been telling me about Danieli’s for years - usually unprompted! Finally got a chance to go and tried the vegan dark chocolate and the pistachio gelato on her recommendation. Among the best ice cream I’ve ever eaten - worth the hype.

The drink was excellent; however, the service provided was far below the expected standard. The woman serving me did not seem pleased at all and was quite rude in her behaviour.

Usually when I drink hot chocolate with a thicker consistency I have to drink water to wash it down, but this was not the case here! Absolutely delicious hot chocolate, had to come twice to secure the hot chocolate powder and bring it to germany :) loved it! I’ve previously had the fine chocolates - which do not disappoint and now the Signature Hot Chocolate - the one that’s taken social media by storm and for good reason. It’s for everyone. Literally. Their signature hot chocolate (£3) is reminiscent of the thick chocolate drink that I had in Barcelona where you dunk the churros. Very satisfying! It is also cute that the baristas are really fascinated by the hot choco’s sudden popularity because of Tiktok.

One of the best hot chocolate I have tasted.Friendly staff and quick service. Drinks are competitively priced. Nearest parking is at Waitrose. The only downside is the traffic going to that area but it was worth the hussle.

Sometimes in life you have to RAVE about a business. I have been shopping at Gelateria Danieli and chocolates for years now and sometimes we forget to give credit where credit is due. I find it hard to go anywhere else to buy presants for others - as well as myself and my family. Not only is the quality of their chocolate and icecream SUPERB, I particularly want to commend Jo in the chocolate shop. She has been there for years and goes above and beyond every single time I go in there. I know how hard the owners have worked over the years to survive as a small business and I would always encourage people to go there to support them. They deserve it so much and I promise you their products are amazing. Personally I never understood what good chocolate and ice cream tasted like before I went there. It is a little bit of heaven. The way the Owner speaks about his staff is disgusting. Carlo is sick and needs to be fired asap. They are so unprofessional and need to be stopped asap. Only one girl who worked there was nice but she got spoken to like she was nothing by the owner. It was absolutely horrible to hear. No one should come to work and be made to feel this way. 0 stars.

I used to love Danieli’s ice creams. But lately they are all melted. More of pudim than an ice cream.

got the rum & raisin and the pistachio. they were generous with the raisins and although I wish the rum came out more strongly I could certainly taste it still, and the pistachio basically checked all my boxes
