Gaucho in Tower Hamlets

I get that it’s in front of the water in Canary Wharf, it should have been a wow or Top 10 food experience, it was not my cup of tea.

The food was great. Cooked exactly as requested. The staff were polite and attentive. All round great experience.

Loved this place! Thanks to Adelina and the manager Florian for the experience. Definitely coming back!

Fantastic experience, absolutely incredible and easy location to find, and a beautiful view right next to the River Thames. The service was brilliant and up to standards, the waitress was very kind, respectful, polite and helpful by choosing which to choose from the well designed, simple, straightforward and descriptive menu, with such a good selections of steaks to different sides to go with, amazing interior, and great decor, really comfortable and proper seatings, wonderful lighting, very clean floors and tables, and to see the chef's behind the fire grill to really cook your steaks from scratch the way you want it to be. The food was just absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection, very tasty, real proper portions, amazing quality, and enough to share around. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️100/100⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ For everything, keep up the good work, and we will be seeing you again.

Great as usual. The receptionist allowed us to pick our own table because it was quiet, much appreciated. And Adrien, our waiter, kept checking we had our drinks topped up and the food was as consistent in quality as always. Thanks a lot. 🙏

Amazing Saturday lunch! Not very busy but not quiet either! Perfect mix. We had some drinks outside and than had some steaks and dessert inside. Service was very good, everyone being very friendly and also knowing their stuff as well. Perfect mix, again!

absolutely trash and overhyped. we spent a couple hundred between 2 of us. the steak was ok. not great but ok. however the rest of meal, things like the mac and cheese and even the olives they provide at the start are just bland and mediocre quality. the service was average at best too, most waiting staff were more concerned with their phones, i noticed this with the kitchen staff too as it’s open to see. not sure if this is lacking in hygiene given they swap from phones to handling food. special mention to the waiter guy who seemed more concerned with chatting up the old ladies on the table next to us for the best part of 45 mins without actually tending to his job. i’ll be back at hawkesmoore or similar for my next steak

Amazing, amazing, amazing! Service, food, experience! I dine at Gaucho's quite often and have to say this was one of my best experience by far. Loved it!

My boyfriend took me here for my surprise birthday and we was amazed! You definitely get what you pay for the steaks were amazing and our waiter was very friendly. We do get worried about going to expensive restaurants and getting cold tiny steaks back but this was definitely worth your money! The steak was big and juicy and the mac and cheese was amazing. Will definitely be coming back

This was a joint birthday and wedding anniversary celebration with our daughter and her partner. The table we were given was near the window with a spectacular view. The restaurant was full but this did not spoil the excellent service that we were given by the staff. I would have to say that we all had a lovely evening, the food was wonderful and it was all just perfect. Thank you so much, Gaucho, Canary Wharf. You are one of our favourited places to eat and we look forward to returning in the not too distant future. Thank you!

Enjoyed all the recommendations from the waitress. Steak was delicious, wine was very good and service was spot on! All the staff that we interacted with was very helpful and friendly, from the person that only served the food to the top manager. We strongly recommend this place!

Amazing service, good food, lovely staff! Will be back!

We had a dining pod for our meal which was a great experience. We arrived a little early so we had to wait for the heating to be turned on in the pod but we just waited in the bar so that was no problem. It was great fun, we were warm enough and listened to our own music via a bluetooth speaker in the pod. The waiting staff were all lovely.

Very friendly service, food was a little slow but steak was perfect. Really enjoyed it.

Been here before and I liked from the first time. I also have visited other Gauchos before so knew what to expect. I think they are a bit expensive when it comes to food but I would say this brunch compensate with the service. Very attentive, professional and warm. Loved every bit of it! Outstanding service! I can't really get how some people can bad thing to write about this place. Been here quite a few times and I have decided to share my experience as I don't see it fair with some reviews that I read. The guys are amazing, always there when you need them but also they give you space and intimacy. Food is as good as any Gaucho and you know what to expect. Also them as a team they are amazing. I was served by different waiters/waitresses every time and my experience had not change at all, same good service with just their own personality. I also have to appreciate the managers as on all my experiences they came to my table, had a chat and seeing them how they work with the team, if they wouldn't were suits I wouldn't know they are managers. All the times, hands on. So please guys, don't change, don't move from here and more important know they are some people like me who love what you offer!

Had a great time here. Everything was flawless from the moment I came in I welcomed by the receptionist with "open arms". As some reviews mention, this place excels at service. I always have a lot of questions regardless of the restaurant that I go, some will say too many questions but here every time I had someone that was very patient and managed to answer to all of them, without any face gesture apart from a smile. Basically this place makes you feel like they have dinner with you this is how supportive they are. This is not my first time and definitely won't be the last either. Thank you, guys

Alway a great steak at this place. But then at the price, you would expect it. The sides, however, were poor and small portion. Actually left some as they were below par. Service polite but you get the feeing there heart isn't in it and this reflects on the service given. I've been yo better Gaucho restaurants. But the food prompted me to write this review.

Dear gaucho team. I joined you this evening with my husband for our wedding anniversary. We were seating near a group of three men who spent the entire evening swearing, talking about sex acts, breaking glasses and spilling drinks. The service given to us by our server was very nice. And thank you for the anniversary cheesecake. Unfortunately the evening was spoiled by the poor behaviour of your other guest who we had unfortunately been seated close to. The Sunday bottomless roast dinner was amazing. The meat was cooking perfectly and you could just keep getting more. I will return and recommend

Came here to celebrate Valentines day, later as 24th seemed too hectic. I have been numerous times to this place and have left amazing reviews and have to say that this time was...absolutely fantastic! Finally brough my partner here and she felt so spoiled.

Service is top notch! Food is delicious! Couldn't fault this place. Every time I come here I don't get disappointed rather pleasantly surprised. Had as usual the ancho with broccoli and mushrooms and I always love it. My misses she had the sea bass and the fries, which she thoroughly enjoyed. We have been looked after by Cristina and she is amazing. The manager recognized us and came to check on us a few times during the meal, while at the end having a small chat. Definitely recommend this place!

After having spent about an hour scrolling through tiktok not knowing where to take my grilfriend for our anniversary I ended up choosing gauchos not knowing whether it would be good or not. When we arrived we were greeted in a very fashionable manner and the service was excellent. We are both Uni students and were surprised by the quality and the price - although there were expensive things on the menu we had a lovely meal for a respectful £90. I really enjoyed our visit and will be visiting again in the future.

I used to eat here a lot and stopped years ago because the food and service was SO bad. Now? INCREDIBLE. After the company Gaucho has suffered/struggled and reshuffled itself around, the improvement is immaculate. The QUALITY of the ingredients is second to none. Hawksmoor, Galvin, Goodmans, Miller and Carter and Cut have nothing close to compare to Gaucho, it is the best steak I can find currently in London. I feel like a lot of companies keep reducing the quality of their ingredients which has a massive impact on the taste, because they can hire the best Chef, but if the quality of the meat is not good, then nothing matters. I always get the Lomo and I NEVER have to chew into fat, it's like butter and melts in your mouth. Please never cut costs on the quality of the food, it's so tasty! Service is also so great, you keep getting checked on so you don't have to wait 15 minutes to find a server just to ask for a drink like most restaurants in London. Ps, I wish the Firecracker chimichurri was spicy, it's not spicy at all, but a little tasty nonetheless. Wish it was much more rich.

The quality of the food, specifically the ceviche and lomo fillet I had is second to none. Hawksmoor, Goodmans, miller and carter don’t come close to this. Even the Cut don’t do steak this good. The quality of the actual food is great, which is hard to come by after covid. All restaurants keep cutting on quality and it makes me not even want to eat out because I know most places just concentrate on asthetics and presentation while reducing the cost of food every year. Although prices have risen at Gaucho (like everywhere else), at least the quality of the food stays at a very high standard. Doesn’t matter if the chef is great, if the food quality is cheap and bad, doesn’t make a difference if it’s Alain Ducasse seasoning cardboard. Service here is bloody great too, don’t have to wait 15 minutes just to find a server to order another drink, you’re checked on frequently!

It was good, it felt we only paid for the food and nothing else, compared to other places I’ve been, I felt it could have been a better overall experience. But understandable it was valentines so the wait staff were probably busier than usual.

It was good but it always feels rushed whenever I go. I feel like they just want to flip tables and it’s all rushed to get the money and get me out I miss when they used to bring the broad around and show the steak and explain how to have it cooked. I would not go again

Sea bass was poorly seasoned with no taste and full of bones and the mashed was not tasty at all. I wouldn’t even go there again. The service and quality have dropped massively. This was my third time of going there.

Booked a day before Valentines as we did not want the chaos that you find everywhere. I spoke with the manager and informed him that I want to surprise my misses with a dessert as I arrived first. From there everything went amazingly good. My misses felt very special and looked after and for me it this was all that mattered. She has a few allergies and is tricky for some restaurant but the guys have been patient, kind and knowledgeable, making her feel very comfortable about it. Having someone that makes the whole experience fun, cracking jokes and compliments to both of us, really made me want to share the experience! I informed the manager at the end, even though he checked with us through out the meal, about the way the whole team made us feel and he only asked us to share the experience with other people in any form we want. This is so classy, rather than asking for a review or etc, he just mentioned to share the experience! Big thanks to him and his all team! Fantastic job!

Already the 4th visit here and is as good as the first one. Always been looked after by the staff that served us, managers and even reception. Can't fault this place. The food is what you expect from any other Gaucho so for me there is never any disappointments.

The fillet steak was excellent cooked to perfection, the waitress was really helpful, really enjoyed the whole experience.

Enjoyable meal. Have dined in Gaucho before in the west end and the canary wharf wasn't quite up to the same standard. Peppercorn sauce was more of a gravy with pepper added, and fries were way too salty. Service was top notch though.

Not sure if it was because it was a late Sunday afternoon bur I was very disappointed with the food and service, we waited over 45 mins for 4 Sunday dinners and 2 burgers, while we were waiting there was a load of burgers lined up on the hot plate for well over 20 mins, when the food did arrive it was nothing special for the price, my chip’s although not cold were certainly not not and fresh from the fryer, and at the price would expect a lot better. Disappointing

This is the worst Gauchos restaurant I have been to and unfortunately this was for our sons 18 th Birthday was very disappointed. They put us on a horrible table in the walk was at the back of the restaurant by the pass!!! I had told the restaurant that this was a special occasion. Two meals were nice , but one of the steaks 🥩 I struggled to cut and the fact that it was a medium rare lomo it was surprising !! I left half of it and as it’s a £50 steak, I was surprised the server didn’t ask when clearing the plates. The candle in desserts was nice touch but brought to our table when I husband was at the table so we couldn’t enjoy this both with our son. Seemed like we were an inconvenience to you ! We have never felt like this in any of your other restaurants. 100% disappointed won’t be back.

We arrived at Gaucho Canary Wharf, and were offered a table next to the kitchen. We asked to move and were reluctantly offered a table near to the front door by the maitre 'd. To call the second table freezing was an understatement. Every time the front door was opened a huge chill went through the restaurant. There was no light at all above the table, making mobile phone lights the only way to read the menu! The food was distinctly average, with my guest's steak full of fat and gristle; she left most of it. The vegetable portions were expensive and the portions stingy. The bill contained 4 overcharges, including a £4.00 uplift on the advertised price of Aperols. Two overcharges were rectified, but our server would not back down on the remaining overcharges, despite the values not matching the drinks menu. So much for customer service: I should have been more brave and deducted the service charge. We left Gaucho feeling that we should have eaten our celebration meal somewhere else. I have been to Gaucho's once before and enjoyed a tremendous meal with friends. I would hesitate going back there now.

Overpriced. Especially i do not recommend the mc&cheese, which i think is the worst I've had in my life... was super dry, no flavour. literally just macaroni and cheese. Also, there were no toilet papers and durty in the ladies' toilet. I know it was the busy time of the dinner. However, you have many staff members on the floor so I'm sure one of them could take care of it before one of the customers mentioned it.

Food was lovely, we arrived early hoping to have a drink in the bar but there are just 2 standing tables and no seats so they seated us at a table early Instead. The restaurant is small and we were on the bottom level near the door which meant we were very cold every time the door opened although I think the whole place was small enough to be cold whenever you sat. We were immediately offered £11 worth of bread and olives before being shown the menu which I'm glad we declined as I didn't really want to fill up on bread before a nice dinner and add another £11 on the bill . The food came it was lovely, the cocktails were also lovely . The ladies toilets had no toilet roll in them, not one cubicle. I heard other people complaining about this too. Overall we felt a little rushed in this Gaucho. We went for a birthday dinner and although we were 90 minutes in total, it felt like we were only in there 5 minutes! I feel a little disappointed in the service and the overall experience considering the price of the menu but the food was very nice. Probably won't go to this Gaucho again

Service was very good, the food was OK. I think other restaurants do better food at better prices. The restaurant was noisy but a good vibe. Women's toilets were gross.

Food was lovely , very busy and restaurant was freezing cold as it's small and we were sat near the door, No toilet roll in ladies toilets , We were brought the wrong bill -a cheaper bill but this was rectified after I paid without looking at the price , they brought us a second bill very quickly! A nice night out but I am slightly disappointed, felt a bit rushed overall

Lovely and friendly staff, warm atmosphere

First time decided to go to Gaucho at Canary Wharf but unfortunately it just went so downhill and embarrassing that we just felt unwanted the whole time. We friends were meeting after few months and 2 of us arrived early whim we thought to wait for another friend. We received a very friendly welcome by a floor manager who escorted us to the table. Although my friend mentioned that we can sit somewhere around bar area. We decided to wait for our full party to join then decide to place order. Soon after our friend also arrived, after going through the menu we mutually agreed to order drinks only and when we informed order taker, very next moment her attitude was changed. She walked away after saying “so you’re not ordering food 🙄” after few minutes the same host returned to us and without saying anything started clearly plates and cutlery. Of course we all 3 felt this and we were shocked & surprised from this treatment It was so awkward when same floor manager who welcomed us approached us and said “if you didn’t want order food I would have seated you somewhere else” it was such an embarrassment, so if you want to sit here then you will have to place some sort of food order” he just decided for us bread & olives we had no other option to order. Our order didn’t take too long to arrive however the whole time we stayed there was very unwanted. Our experience started with a great welcome for brief moment but soon it was turned into an embarrassment. I wish manager could have just listened to my friend when she mentioned that we can sit around bar rather taking to the table. He could have just avoided bringing this awkwardness or waiting staff could’ve little more polite and forgive us for not knowing Gaucho’s rules. Total disaster. Anyone going there please be clear before entering through the door weather you want to eat or just there for drink so staff can decide to welcome you accordingly.

Visited previously and not as good . Poor service, had to ask for drinks again after a long wait . Sunday lunch just mediocre and limited vegetables on the plate . There are better places for Sunday lunch

I have been so many times to this place and it never disappoints. Staff is always friendly and warm, with that special touch. This time they recognized me and offered a cheesecake on the house, as they remember it was my favorite and it was as delicious as I remember. A very nice gesture from them that was much appreciated.

food was amazing atmosphere was very good. Also at the start the service was amazing but slowly started to get busier. So wait times got worse. The prawns are unreal. Definitely recommend this restaurant; only downside is my steak was not as warm as i would've liked it to be.

Steak was average. Asked for house white wine the waiter then served a £15 a glass wine in an obvious attempt to squeeze money out of us. Overrated and will never return.

Five stars for the amazing terrace on the Canary Wharf riverside. Al fresco dining under the trees with breathtaking views of the Thames towards West London. In the summers, iced coffee and cocktails. In the winter months, affordable steak menus. Accommodating service.

The food is very expensive for the poor quality it has.

Het voorgerecht was flauw. Aan het gepocheerde ei zat nog veel eiwit. Direct na het voorgerecht kwam het hoofdgerecht. Dat was veel te snel. Het vlees was wel prima.

Service was decent, waiters were good but it was clear that they were overwhelmed. No cookie dough, mac and cheese, tagliatelle available - all things that I was massively looking forward to. Had to chase up my order multiple times. Not the problem of the staff but the logistics of the staff should have been better prepared for for an NYE by management

I travel around London a lot due to my work and I found myself in a few Gaucho's but by far my favourite is Canary and that's all due to the staff. Even though I see someone different at the reception, managers and waiting staff I know them and they always spoil me and my guests. I wish you all a Happy New Year and I hope to see all of you soon! Very attentive and friendly service from all staff. Food was as expected as is not my first time here and was not expecting the service to be as good as I know it do to being the 30th of December. We enjoyed it and we're planning to have a visit in January

A very good dinner. Adelina and Cristina looked after as and they were the most lovely girls possible. The manager seemed very proud of them when we mentioned how good they were and I liked that everyone was smiling and enjoying themselves which is very rare now in restaurants industry. Food was good.. I loved the cheesecake.

As always the food and wine were fantastic - which is why we return regularly. However, I want to say a special thanks to Adelina who looked after me and my family very well. She was knowledgeable, attentive and caring. She took the time to serve us well with lovely food and wine and look after the needs of my family. She interacted with the kids well whilst making sure to give us space to enjoy the food. Thank you to Adelina and the rest of the great team in Canary Wharf.

The food was tasty but unfortunately my order was taken incorrectly and instead of a rump steak I got a fillet which unfortunately cost €80 instead of €40. I had to pay this price too. Such a mistake shouldn't happen. The portions are very small and we left the restaurant hungry

We had loved Gaucho in Tower Bridge and Liverpool street, so decided to try this one too. And what a disapointment! It was my son's birthday and all of us didn't enjoy the food and the service. * Unprofessional cold service * Poor food presentation * Overcooked steaks * Burrata toast soaked in vinegar so that my throat got burned * Small portions for the price * Very dark in the evening, it was hard to see what we were eating Would not recommend and would never go back!

Usually love Gaucho Canary Wharf, both our steak’s were completely bland and the sides were nothing you couldn’t cook at home. Usually our favourite restaurant, but can’t even say it was an off day/ busy service times as we ate between 5-6:30pm and the restaurant had been empty!

I have eaten at a few different Gaucho restaurants and canary wharf did not come close to meeting the standards of the others. We both ordered our steaks medium which arrived rare. The chips were dry like they had been sitting out for a while. Waitress was bordering on rude, and huffed when I told her I had a gift voucher to use. I also hate it when the staff keep over filling your wine glass to encourage you to buy another bottle. The wine is ridiculously over priced (3-4 times what you would pay in a shop). You expect to pay more in a restaurant, but the feeling of being ripped off to enjoy a bottle of wine with your meal just ruins the dinning experience. I won’t be visiting Gaucho again.

Gaucho is an overpriced place with a very average food quality and not the best staff. How can kids mac&cheese be with a truffle and without any notice of that? The meat was below average. I cannot understand how the good cut can be cooked bad. But as we can see in Gaucho - it can. The noise in the restaurant can be the result of Christmas parties. Or not. Couple of dishes with a little of beer and cocktail was 130 GBP which is too overpriced as of this quality.

Food was below basic , no taste my meat was rear even though I asked for medium to well Cooked, chips were old, mac and cheese had no flavour and very dry.

We had a Christmas meal in the igloo pod and we loved it. Private, own choice of music and delicious food. Perfect.

Food was great, everyone enjoyed their meal. Overall the service was great (our waitress was awesome) although it could have been a little quicker, especially given how quiet the restaurant was on this lunch sitting. We would not hesitate to come back again. Thank you!
