We moved into Ravenstone in December 2016 and have started to explore the area when walking our dogs. We came across Beesley's Garden Centre recently and decided to have a look around. We were pleasantly surprised that dogs were allowed - in fact there were many visitors with dogs and the staff were providing bowls of fresh water with a smile. Noticing the tearooms and the pleasant garden area we decided to stay for a cup of tea. For a very reasonable price a huge pot of tea complete with hand knitted tea cosy and china cups were delivered to our table. As we sat enjoying our tea one of the assistants brought dog treats to our table so the dogs were happy too! We didn't try out the food during our visit but we certainly intend to as it looked very nice and the prices were very good. A return visit is on the cards very soon!

Have been coming here on and off for years and it is certainly the best for tea or lunches in the area. Staff are friendly and reliable everywhere is spotlessly clean and the food is yummy. Also a big bonus is the situation inside an attractive garden centre within a delightful village setting.

We visited here today with our grandparent's; who are frequent visitor's. And we enjoyed a nice cake and great sandwich. Would say that it isn't the cheapest, but the extra premium is worth it. Fresh bread and ingredients, with extra tasty cakes!

Based in Beesley's Garden Centre, Ravenstone, The Gardener's Rest is a lovely little tea-room. Although set in a large greenhouse, they have created a lovely ambience by use of the quaint and the kitsch. We're talking hand-knitted tea-cosies, hand-stitched cushions and cruet sets in the shape of chickens. With the aid of the fan heater, it was a lovely, warm environment even now at the end of January. The food is typical tea-room fare. Nice cakes and desserts plus a small amount of savoury items (quiche, jacket potatoes, etc). Coffee was acceptable also. The place was beginning to fill up as lunchtime approached. No surprise really as the Gardener's Rest offered excellent value for money. If you fancy stopping off for 'a cuppa and a sticky', then this is just the place.

We haven't been here for years however we visited twice last week all the staff wear 1950's style clothing they even have retro fridges and microwaves in the open kitchen area, all food is yummy and homemade, try the quiches they are lovely and the coconut tart is simply delicious, a special note for the friendliness of all of the staff they really go out of their way to make you feel at home, we would highly recommend this place for a good quality well priced meal or coffee and cake. Keep up the good work girls, we will be back soon for more scrummy food.

We booked for the christmas afternoon tea . Greeted with mulled wine (non alcoholic) then 2 large cake stands full of sandwiches , festive cakes & home made scones with jam and cream . Plentiful tea and coffee . All very good value , we couldn't eat everything so we're offered sandwich bags to take it home . Very attentive staff , nothing seemed too much trouble for them . Love popping here for coffee and cakes , always a warm welcome and friendly staff .

I have been here before several months ago and it was lovely. We arrived at 4pm - having been delayed elsewhere - and yes I know they shut at 4.30pm, but we just wanted tea and cake and did not think it would be a problem. Well it apparently was, we were glared at when we entered by all three members of staff and no one greeted us at all, they just carried on clearing up and washing pots. My cousin and I had taken our Aunt with us and she felt most uncomfortable and wanted to leave straight away. I went up and asked if it was ok if we just had tea and a piece of cake and a young man said yes. The other two ladies just looked at each other and turned away from us. After about 10 minutes the tea came, then the young man took the rubbish out and came back without washing his hands and got our cake and bought it to the table?!! One of the cups for the tea was dirty and we asked for it to be replaced - this caused another look and glare between the two ladies. Who when someone else walked through greeted him gaily. We were made to feel very unwelcome with the upshot my old Aunt could not wait to leave and needless to say we will be going to Beesleys Garden Centre again, but nowhere near the Tea Rooms. Very disappointed.

First time to the tearooms this afternoon, have been to Beesleys loads of times, but what a find, lovely sandwiches, cakes, quiches, scones. The ladies are really friendly and make you feel very welcome. Nothing is too much even when my husband asked if he could buy a whole bakewell tart||||| Will certainly go back.
