At times can daunting when visiting a typical local pub but the opposite nice friendly atmosphere. Gardners in Awsworth ... Great value for money at £9 for a Sunday roast it’s what we expected nothing more nothing less. Typical local boozer, friendly bar service and plenty of food on the plate, more than we expected definitely finished me off after the pudding.

Had a really lovely meal here today.Roast beef with all the trimmings and an excellent choice of vegetables. Very tasty and reasonabley priced.

Haven't been in The Gardeners for years. Saw a sign outside advertising carvery. We love our Sunday lunch out, so decided to give it a try. When we parked in the car park it was empty which was a bit daunting. However the pub soon filled up and we had the tastiest meal ever!!! Lovely selection of fresh veg..... choice of meats... good serviced..and reasonably priced. Will deffinately go back again.

Popped in for Sunday Lunch all home cooked food lovely veg and a great choice.Yes it does get busy but I always seem to hit it right.Chef does a great job as the girls do.I was very happy with the service and food I received

Probamos por primera vez y no me gustó. No está mal para una bebida, pero en cuanto a la comida, de ninguna manera. Muy desorganizado y carencias en el servicio. Domingo almuerzo fue £9, pero era simplemente una cena básica. Sin duda no vale la pena el dinero

Soy un local, he visto los jardineros deteriorarse en los últimos 5 años. Una lástima, solía ser un pub con buena relación calidad-precio en la comida y una buena cerveza. La cerveza ya no sabe bien y la comida (cuando lo sirven) no es genial y limitado. Nunca un pub conocido sorteo cortina 2 / 3 del pub para no ir. Tuvimos que dejar después de caminar en el otro día, como las 4 mesas en el bar fueron tomadas y cortina cerrada el resto del pub como de costumbre. Muy raro, no entiendo por qué tienes la mayoría de los pub cerrada? ? Cortinas en el bar también son a menudo tirado por caballos. Una pena, porque podría ser un gran pub.

I was there for lunch with family and friends..service was next to nothing..so slow..our order was all wrong so had to wait even longer..use to be good when the previous Landlord and Landlady were there.

I took my mum there to celebrate her 91st Birthday last Sunday. They do a Carvery on a Sunday. The food was delicious. It was freshly cooked. And plentiful. My mum is a fussy eater who will tell you if her meal is cold or lacking flavour. She ate it all, without complaint, and said how much she enjoyed it. For dessert, we had a choice of apple pie, spotted dick, or ice cream. Everything was prepared there from scratch and was mouthwateringly delicious. I will be going there again, and my mum seconds that. It's well worth a visit.

Been here a few times and the carvary has been good..but took my mum for a sunday carvary and we wasnt impressed at all...my mum had the senior dinner £5 ..i asked for the same as i wasnt hungary at all ..i asked for the senior because i wasnt hungary ..u dont look a senior.....the only option i had was an adult £8.50 ..i had no choice .same size plates...well our meal was awfull.. my mum went first ..she had the last 2 pieces of caulifile..and she had 2 wait for the potatoe which had missed the butter and milk..(it was mashed without anything)..carrots had almost ran out..roast potatos were only luke warm.. i had beef and pork ..there was 3 meats on but i could have 2 of the 3 meats i was told..wpuld i go again ..no way ..Mallard and Newdigate and Hogs head are better and cheaper and 100%better

Our local friends often meet for an easy dinner, admittedly it's cheap Thursday but that's no excuse for the chicken schnitzel to be fried in dirty, old oil. The accompaniments of limp, lifeless salad and a pile of fries served by a harried waitress who admonishes us for having the table number on a stand that's too low for her to read amongst wine & water glasses & carafes. A little bit of love could turn it around... Happy to pay a bit more for something the chef would want to eat himself. Feels lazy and tired. A shame!

Booked table with Groupon voucher for 7p.m. Prompt service to take our order. Informed there would be a 20 minute delay as Christmas party were to be served ahead of us. We accepted this. At 08:15 no sign of dinner so went to bar to find out what was happening. Told meal being plated up. Meal brought to us. Husband's meal was not what was ordered. Said they had put it on wrong table-this was for table that had ordered 30 minutes after us. Main reasonable. Apple pie only just warm. Didn't think worth saying anything about this as didn't know how long it would be to resolve.

Do not let looks deceive. ..new people. The food was brilliant. Real fish not of your triangle and chips hand cut and fried twice. Landlady could not have been more helpful or friendly. Will definitely go back..thanks

Popped in today for a quick pint. Fantastic welcome by licensee who is a seasoned man in the trade and knows his stuff ex Excavator Derbyshire. Lager and beer first class, pipes cleaned every Friday and you could tell!. Had a breakfast although not strictly on the menu( shows willingness to please customers) in the afternoon and it was bliss. If you want ping ping microwave food and want it in minutes then don't bother coming here. If you are patient and want fresh top quality food prepared from fresh from locally sourced suppliers then this may well be your choice. No they do not have an extensive 8 page menu like the stock brewery pubs but lots of comfort food and specials so ask the chef what he's doing. Had a choice of how eggs done and my poached egg was best i have had in a breakfast in the area. Chef came to to gather feedback always a good sign.This pub has been through many hands but I got the feeling that it had found it's masters. I wish them the best I am sure if people support it they will expand their menu. If you want factory prepared food then it is not for you. Lovely outdoors garden with children's play area and I understand that they do have entertainment

went for the sunday roast with the wife she had the beef which was so tuff the knife wouldn't cut it and the lamb was so bloody it wasn't cooked complained as we couldn't it it only to be told what do you want us to do about it i replied as we Haven't eaten it we would like our money back tuff was the reply like the steak we cant do refunds
