Why change the previous system to one that has you having to walk back and forth to order food and select cakes. Great if everyone wants the same item but when they want to see whats on offer before making a selection. With plenty of staff standing around, table service would have been easy to operate. A real step back.

Visited Frosts at Willington for lunch on Sunday as we usually do two or three times per month and appalled at the amount of dogs in restaurant annexe. At its height we counted nine, three of which barked continually. A few people did complain to restaurant manager who appeared to do nothing. It felt like we were in the middle of Battersea Dogs Home. It has certainly put me off visiting again.

We had booked this a week before for Winter Afternoon Tea. We were shown to our table in the Garden Room at the Willington branch of Frosts by a lovely young lady called Jenny. we were asked if we'd like tea or coffee and then we were given a .lovely selection of savoury treats which had fillings of wraps with Brie and Cranberry, Cranberry in Cheese Scones, Beef and Horseradish and Egg Mayonnaise and Prawns. We thought it was all nicely presented and that was it. After asking to place something in a box, the lovely Jenny came and put the remainder of the savoury plate in a box for us and said she would bring the sweet treats out!! We had already started to feel comfortably full so seeing the delicious sweets was a real treat, if a little daunting. The crockery was proper teacups and white linen tablecloth. We didn't manage everything so in came our neat little box for takeaway food! We would enjoy the remainder at another time.

. . . . Visitado Octubre 2016..

Rather belatedly I just wanted to pass on my comments for the excellent food and service provided for my belated 50thbirthday/kicked cancers butt! party. 50 guests were welcomed and seated and the most exquisite afternoon tea was provided for all of us. Tracey Hawes, organiser, kept in touch and was in hand to make sure everything ran smoothly. Waitressing staff were excellent, gluten free and dairy free well catered for. I chose this venue as I visit on average 1-2 times per week as they cannot be beaten for their cheese scones, fresh soup and amazing salads... And good service in wonderful setting, especially the conservatory. Many thanks

On Tuesday's this restaurant has a two course lunch for senior citizens for the amazing price of £7.50. We had roast beef with all the trimmings (full portion) followed (I'm ashamed to say) by sticky toffee pudding with caramel sauce. They were both excellent as were the drinks and ambiance. Don't get old just for this bargain but if you are already there, this is by way of compensation.

I have always avoided eating in garden centres which I liken to eating in a warehouse but this is good. Everything is cooked onsite and all the cakes are also expertly made. During our last visit we and others ( strangers)were marvelling about the homemade cheese scones ,it transpired all of us had specifically driven over 10 miles to get one!! The homemade cakes and scones are superb..

Far too expensive, careless service. Coffee was poor, mainly due to lack of interest by staff. Cakes unremarkable. Food generally cold. Won't be wasting anymore money here.

Four ladies having lunch on a Tuesday, which is pensioner special day. It was very busy. Three main courses were on offer and one dessert at a special price. Other options were baked potatoes or various sandwiches and paninis. My impression was that the serving counters were somewhat disorganised. Dessert had to be asked for and collected at the same time as the main course in order to get the offer. Other comments about grumpy staff were borne out by my companions. It is not cheap eats, nor is it table service. They just need to get their staff organised and perhaps look at their pricing. Refurbished extensions are not enough.

Yet another visit to Frost's Willington. They seem to have sorted out the service slowness, not quite so bad today. We had a banoffee pie and s chocolate torte. They were quite good. The latte was OK, but had to have my cappuccino remade as hot milk was just slopped into the coffee. When I pointed out that there was little foam, a few teaspoons were ladled over it. We eventually agreed to start again from the beginning and the second cup looked reasonable, but when I got to drink it, it was lukewarm.

Recently had an afternoon tea at Frosts Willington as a birthday present. Absolutely fantastic, very good sandwiches, the small cakes and pastries were to die for! Having said that the wait staff are somewhat "behind" with their service but that could be because you aren't situated in the main restaurant and they were very willing whenever asked for anything. Overall I would have to say that this was one of the best ways of spending a rainy Saturday afternoon and one that I'm definitely going to repeat. Well worthe the hour drive - Well done Frosts, keep up the good work! The garden centre is brilliant as well!

As a birthday treat my daughter had given me vouchers for an afternoon tea at Frosts garden centre at Willington. Having phoned to book, speaking to a very helpful lady, I promptly received an e-mail confirming the date. When we arrived we were shown to our table all set out with white linen and China. We were very impressed with the savouries which were brought out first. Salmon and salad wraps, cream cheese and chutney sandwiches, cheese scone with roasted peppers and French bread with ham. After time to work our way through and digest our desserts followed; shot glasses of lemon curd with chocolate dragonfly, Victoria sandwich, choux pastry banofee, strawberry meringues and scones with cream and jam. This was one of the best afternoon teas I have tasted with thoroughly enjoying everything. They also do themed afternoon teas the next being a Wimbledon theme! Well done Frosts.

We needed to get garden plants so went to Frosts (a regular haunt) for lunch and greenery. Definitely good food - portions actually a bit too large. Great people serving in the restaurant. Cheap and cheerful.

Lovely garden centre but the food and drinks are just over priced. They have a nice selection of cakes and pastries. Lunch selections ok, I chose a panini, it took ages to be brought over and when it did they'd cooked half the plastic wrapper into it!? Service was slow and I didnt feel overly welcomed by the staff either. The coffee was luke warm and didnt taste great. When they're charging full whack for a cup of coffee I'd expect the same standard I'd get at a coffee house but I didnt. I'll continue to shop at the garden centre but eat elsewhere I future

Had lunch here yesterday with a friend. Very expensive and in my opinion not worth the money. A nice restaurant but it was alright before the re-fit. The food was of average quality and not very hot. Didn't think the staff were all that friendly either. Overall I don't think you get value for money at any garden centre restaurant.

Went to the newly re-furbished restaurant, much more seating , very impressed ,plenty of choice, the only down side is most of the cakes are not covered ,when companies spend all this money on doing the place up they cant seem to afford to buy glass or plastic covers to keep the cakes fresh and clean , I cant do with hundreds of people before me coffin and spluttering all over them, also I cant justify the price of the baked potatoes very expensive

Have eaten twice since the recent refit and have found both meals where of very good quality. We had lunch mid week and although the restaurant was vey busy the food was very hot and tasty. Seating in the new conservatory was very nice which made the dining experience even better. The second meal was breakfast and like the first was hot ,tasty and good value .

Having been to various garden centres in the area for a coffee and a light lunch, I do think this is one of the more expensive. This time my husband and I just had a coffee (average price). If I happened to be visiting the garden centre I would probably have a coffee, but no food.

Took my parents here for some lunch on Friday (14th Nov), we've been before & quite like the food.My Dad & I had the jacket potato with tuna mayo & salad, my Mum had the pork with potatoes & veg. The jacket potatoes are quite big (could have done with being in the oven just a little bit longer) & they give you plenty of filling. The salad is really nice with the coleslaw & beet root, we both enjoyed it. My Mum liked her pork, although she couldn't eat the apple that came with it as it was too hard & she said it didn't complement the pork like sauce would. It's always quite busy in here for lunch, even though it's far from the cheapest place to eat.I will be back as I do enjoy their food.Carole : )

Oh Dear, another Pub totally unaware of the current disability regulations. There isn't a ramp, there are even any same level flooring, upon enquiring with one of the staff regarding access to the premises, by one in a wheelchair, we were curtly reminded that this was a traditional Public House, who don#t cater for those with mobility issues! Such a shame as my friend had his legs blown off in Afghanistan, and is a hero.

What a disappointment - we went to the pumpkin patch with 3 grandchildren. The activities there were not well maintained, on the Mini Tractor Trail the tractors would not move due to being placed on damp lumpy grass, the Spooky Mini Golf had definitely seen better days. We paid an extra £5.99 per child for Chocolate Apple Dunkin when booking online which consisted of a very small apple on a stick which was then dipped in chocolate and sprinkles

Possibly the best kebab I’ve ever had. Instead of serving in a standard pita they hand make a naan and cook in front of you which tastes superb, plus the amount of meat and salad added is both sizeable yet appropriate. There’s a few tables for dining in which were clean and the staff were friendly enough. This will be my kebab place of choice from now on.
