Gandhi Tandoori hayling island in Havant

Had a take away tonight - swift delivery hot and soooooo vvv tasty - best take away indian meal we have had in literally years ! Fresh fragrant and no grease - beautiful - def def recommend them - we won’t be going anywhere else from now on - thank you guys

Staying at Mill Rythe holiday resort. Went to their restaurant for some food on the Sunday and being vegan there was no real choice so one of the staff there recommended trying this place as they deliver. Wow wow wow. What a fantastic meal they delivered. They put in a couple of freebies as well but the actual meal was bloody amazing. The taste and quality of the food was outstanding. Would highly recommend

Went early on the off chance after a couple of days break for new year, so I was kind of the last meal out of the festive season and it didn't disappoint. Had chicken & beef dishes and both were delicious, plus popadoms, onion bhaji, and a naan. All delicious. We were the only ones in because we literally turned up when the restaurant opened but that was fine because we had a personal service. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant, the governor is great to chat to and I can see why this chain is very popular. Would definitely visit again. Parking is also excellent, with a car park literally across the road.

Best Indian meal and restaurant I have been to for a long time.

Amazing place and very hospitable

3 of us had a meal there on a Friday evening, we were seated quickly and drinks came to the table. Poppadoms were good, but the starter was something else, the boys had a delicious onion bhaji but my lamb Sula was incredible. Mains were equally delicious my baltic lamb was fantastic. We would have had a dessert but, there really was no room for anything else. Looking forward to our next trip to the island

Great food and welcoming / friendly staff.

Quality has dropped since I last visited about 7 years ago. Old owners made typical Bangladeshi cuisine, but as you got to know them, they would make dishes not on the menu; essentially what they would eat. This time the quality was low; meat over cooked, sauces too thick and layered with chili, and the rice could have better. It's a shame as once this restaurant had a strong following. We all understand the cost of living has driven up ingredient costs, but people will pay a few more pounds for a quality dish. Service was good, but the preparation needs a major rethink

We found Gandhi Restaurant purely by accident whilst visiting Hayling Island and can honestly say it was one of the nicest Indian Restaurants we have experienced, staff and service were excellent and with such a lovely atmosphere and the food was absolutely gorgeous ... would highly recommend , would certainly visit again when in the area 10 out 10

Not a bad curry house to be fair, the foods always good, i find it better than some of the other curry houses on the island.

Exceptionally nice service and people. Were also very conscious of us waiting in the cold outside once we had finished, and were very kind throughout. Food was brilliant and came out very fast. Poppadoms were given whilst we waited for mains. Would recommend highly

Lovely as always! We like to go early before the restaurant gets busy, so the atmosphere was quiet. Just how we like it!

We booked a table at 10pm which they said was fine on the phone, we arrived at 10:02pm and they had shut the restaurant, 30min earlier than their closing time. I would not bother booking, clearly only walk in.

The manager Josh was very friendly. So welcoming, we almost felt part of the family. Altho it was mid week, I was still amazed at how fast the food came out. It was obviously made with fresh ingredients, and was one of the best curries I'd tasted. If I was here for a week on Hayling Island, I would be perfectly happy coming here every evening, just to chat to Josh, and to work my way thru their menu! The restaurant was immaculately clean and airy, and had a wonderful professional atmosphere. If I ever come back to Hayling Island, Gandhi Tandoori would be the first place I'd eat.

It was a quiet time and a hot day. Delicious food and provided a main dish as starter on request which was very helpful. Also delivered our naan bread for takeaway after we found it missing. Can't fault them. Thank you:)

Pretty much my favourite Indian. Always good food. Never feels too busy. Good service etc. Can't complain really.

We went here Saturday evening with a couple of friends, The restaurant was lovely, polite and attentive staff ,great food and drinks and all at a great price, will definitely be going back soon as we all had a great evening 😀

A bit faulty towers service but the beef madras was best I've had . Loved it

There was only 1 person managing the reception and takeout, had to wait a few mins before being given the menus. Had to remind him for my son's soft drink. The food was good but can be better. Seating was adequate. There were toilets and baby change facilities on-site. Overall it was okay.

Food arrived 15min early despite mentioning delivery time in the app followed up by a telephone call where they confirmed it'd arrive at requested time. Aubergines were floating in oil, chickpeas had no taste whatsoever, naan had no filling just thick flour, biryani tasted like bad quality rice mixed with chicken curry. Not sure how they managed so many positive reviews, but then Trump stayed in the White House too

Attended the Gandhi this evening with a group of friends. The experience was such a pleasant one with not only first class service from Mr Musad Amed and his colleagues but the food served was of excellent quality. If you like Goan food you are in for a treat but also Biriani and other dishes are first class too. Highly recommended and look forward to returning soon.

Food was delicious and service was excellent. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly, they told us all the different areas to explore and were really genuinely interested in us having a great stay on the island whilst telling us which other restaurants to visit on our trip. We will definitely be going back as we became fast friends. I would recommend the sizzler dishes and the Gandhi special lamb curry (not on the menu and spicy 🌶️). Portions were large and great value for money, draught beers were excellent too.

The food was nice but the overall experience was not great. It didn't seem like covid procedures were adhered too, as tables were close together and staff removed their mask when taking our order. One of our party kept having their chair hit by the food trolley as they went past. In addition, they got one of our dishes wrong and forgot to bring one out.

10 out of 10 . Not your usual curry house . You need your glasses to read the menu and choose some thing a bit different. Food was lovely and good portions at fair price . Cobra & kingfisher beer on tap which also tasted good. Offered popadoms to start but no prices shown so didnt have often you have a few of these and cost can be as much as a good starter .. so constructive feedback price needs to be shown also didnt get asked for our contact number for track & trace but all very small things to mention when food was so Good!!!

Delicious even down to the free salad which was dressed with pomegranate and lemon.

Sadly this place continues to spiral down in quality and up in price. Now serving bland curries. This is somewhere I frequented for over 20 years. It seems there is now more focus on the stylish plates than providing a meal with flavour (and I don't mean just heat). Sorely disappointed with the continued decline in the quality of the food.

My boyfriend and I came here last night. The food was so delicious and they had very helpful staff. I asked for the Korma without any sultanas and I was told: "no problem" which showed that it is all cooked from scratch. My boyfriend asked for a bespoke curry and it was super tasty! We will be going back! :)

Always had a great meal here, couldn't fault it. The owner Josh is very friendly and welcoming too.
