Cracking traditional pub, lovely beer garden. Great menu selection . My husband had the steak and kidney pudding and he said it was the best he had. HUGE PORTION sizes.

Great service, lovely atmosphere. Food was good, make sure you're hungry, large portions! There were 9 of us and we all got our food served together. Relaxed service, didn't rush us all all. Had a lovely time.

We ordered a prawn cocktail/roast chicken/fish and chips. It was great meal and were huge portions! We enjoyed the food and the interior was beautiful!

A lovely lunch out with lifelong friends. A very extensive menu, I had the gammon, it was a decent sized portion with two thick gammon steaks topped with pineapple. The pub itself is a traditional country pub with loads of bits and pieces decorating the walls. Great lunch although the building itself was a little on the cold side, it did explain why the bar area with the open fire was very busy.

The food was excellent 👌 and the service was very good I would recommend 👌 to everyone 😀 👍

Went to the Yew Tree just before Christmas. We weren't having the Christmas meal, just off the menu, which we found to be brief on description, they haven't listed the extras. Like. Carrots, peas, cabbage gravy. So was surprised when my chicken and chips arrived with all mentioned on the plate. The food was good pub food, and plenty on the plate. Atmosphere was great, as close to Christmas was busy, but we didn't wait long for the food to arrive. Parking may be an issue, although they have a large carpark, it does get busy. Which tells you, it's a good place to go.

Decent food friendly staff good atmosphere but could do with a good clean

Well... the pub is somewhat different it has its qwerkiness about it, if you look up you can see so many old farming tools. The food was edible but wasn't the greatest-tasted microwaved (instant mash for a start) And for the drinks ie. Coca cola tasted like it was watered down. Service was okay.... Will give this place another try in the future.

Stopped off for a drink after a day out. Bar staff polite and helpful, bar area clean and tidy. Garden well kept with plenty of outdoor seating.

The Yew Tree is a family favourite for us and we visit often throughout the year and have never had a bad experience. The bar itself is very small and the selection available is not huge but what is on offer is decent. Service is always good and the staff are very friendly. Food is always good and fairly priced and despite usually being part of a big group our food always comes out together with no issues. There is a large garden area which includes an aviary and a kids play area. There is a decent sized free car park.

After many years of visiting the island (we used to have a caravan there) this was our 1st visit to The Yew Tree......and it won't be the last. Fantastic tasty food with very generous portions and extremely good value. Staff were fantastic and even though they were very busy we were served pretty quickly. Can't wait to go back.

Haven't visited here for many years due to work life always remembered it had good well cooked food they certainly have kept the standard they set their selves helpful staff quick service although very busy. Will be visiting again when on the island again

Lovely pub, great garden, the ladies were lovely excellent customer service but the food let them down. There were five if us and not one of us managed to eat our whole meal. Would definitely go again for drinks but not for dinner

Disappointing. Awful food, roast drowned in cheap thick gravy, burnt (yet still soggy!?) roast potatoes. Underwhelming. 1st dinner my partner has ever not eaten.

Oh my goodness this place needs 10 stars. Service was brilliant and friendly. Food came quickly. It was hot, home made big portions and very tasty. Fresh veg and plenty of it. I’m going back for more Liver and Onions and apple pie and custard. Massive menu. We all loved our dinners. Lovely seating area outside and dog friendly. Very good prices. Thank you

1st choice when visiting the island to eat here as the food is great and massive portions but Silly having to queue to order food then move to order drinks at same bar but to the manager who serves the locals/regulars first! We left after our meal without ordering our deserts as would have too wait on him again serving us last.

Wow, what a place! We stayed on Hayling Island for the weekend and needed somewhere to eat. Such value for money and huge portions. You'll never leave The Yew Tree hungry.

Dining on a Budget. If you are looking for no thrills eating and a big plateful of food at reasonable prices, then you need not look any further than here. When it comes to quality, that's a different story... On our visit the place was packed and as we had not booked we were lucky to get a table. People were even sitting in chairs with plates on their knees. The staff were welcoming and friendly as they worked their way through the mass of people ordering and trying to get tables. The ease at which they did this showed how use they were to feeding large numbers at a time. There is a large comprehensive menu of traditional pup grub, including an adult plate of fish fingers and chips! The speed at which the meals came out of the kitchen and onto the table gave away the secret of how they cope with the crowds, microwave.. Everything had been reheated in a microwave and that was a real shame. I bet those steak and kidney puddings had really been something fresh out of the oven, even warmed through for a second time in the oven they would have been special. Unfortunately, while they had good flavour, the filling had lost all texture and the casing had turned to chewy rubber. They were totally packed full of filling though. The half chicken didn't fair much better, but everyone's chips were awesome. So why five stars? If you don't mind microwaved food, you're in for a gut busting portion of pub grub for less cost than a meal deal in Burgerking 👍

Nice clean pub with really decent pub grub at very reasonable prices. Hubby had cheeseburger, which came with a really fresh salad and delicious chips. Really crispy with fluffy centres. I had chicken, bacon and leek pie which came with fresh carrots, cabbage and peas as well as chips, there was a choice of mash or boiled potatoes. No room for desserts, but very good quality and quantity of food.

Good proper pub food served by friendly people in a traditional pub. I had the Chicken and Leek pie, which was excellent and served with veg and mash. The lamb shank, which is a rare find, was excellent and the stuffed chicken breast looked amazing. Kid friendly and outdoor play area for them. Staff were lovely.and they take cards.

Delicious food. Very generous portions and good price. Tried the chicken roast dinner, lamb chops, gammon and steak. Kids meals are big too. All food cooked fresh. Lots of Veggies and salads too with all the meals. The best place to eat around the area. Lovely cosy place lovely atmosphere really nice friendly people both the staff and the people there. 100 percent recommend. Stayed at the hotel round the corner called Langstone quay hotel but ate here all the time:) thank you so much for the lovely food.

Popped in here for a quick lunch before checking into our hotel for the night... WOW, what a find!!! A proper, proper local pub with warm fires, warm welcome, great food and friendly clientele. The food was traditional pub grub, nice portion sizes, very good value as well as being delicious. Some might call the decor dated, but I just think if it ain't broke don't fix it, can't recommend this Inn enough, so refreshing to be in a real pub again, will defo be back 😎

I absolutely loved this pub, I haven't been there for many years. It was better than I remembered, There are so many artifacts to look at, it was like being in a museum come Aladins cave. The staff where friendly, the fire was roaring and cozy. Food was excellent, well presented and plentiful, Really good value for money, with reasonable prices. I will be more of a regular in the future.

If you order crab salad, expect no white crab meat, and be pleased to get half a tea cup of brown crab meat and a plate salad like you got at school. At £15 the cost of living crisis is running amok here.

Reassuringly old fashioned. No Wi-Fi, no pizza, burger is just one item on a large menu. Good beer, all at a fair price. Ginger sponge is to die for.

Never disappointed when we stop off here. Excellent choices of quality foods cooked to order. The gammon steaks and steak pudding are excellent.
