Hi everyone who read my review I take my wife out for valentine's dinner and this time we decided to visit Indian cuisine restaurant. And we wound one not far from us The Gandhi and this place surprise us with professional staff atmosphere and also the main this is food . Food is amazing fresh full of flavoure everything was so delicious we ordered some take away too . Definitely recommend to visit this place and have taste yourself and you will see how this food is amazing. Not far from this restaurant you can get parking too .

The food and restaurant are excellent but what really did it for me were the excellent, friendly and hospitable staff.

Had a lovely meal last night. Food was absolutely amazing, fresh and very flavoursome. Service was impeccable. Couldn’t fault a thing. Would highly recommend, all staff very friendly

We had previously been here over a year ago and thought it was good and we'd definitely go back sometime. We went a few weeks ago and we were very disappointed in the food overall. Standards seem to have dropped significantly in our opinion. Unfortunately means we've been put off going back for a while. I'll have to give it a try again another time as I had thought they were much better, maybe they just had a bad weekend.

Took my wife here for her first visit to an Indian restaurant and she loved it . Friendly staff welcome you like you are a regular , service is excellent , food is to die for and atmosphere is great . We have been back since and will definitely be back again . Our go to Indian restaurant in Gravesend , highly recommended.

Really disappointing curry, ordered the chilli chicken and there was barely any heat, no depth of flavour, no garnish of any kind. Complete waste of money. Would never order here again much better options available locally will stick to what I know in the future

Another lovely meal out at the Gandhi, I had the Gandhi chicken special, just the right amount of spice. Wonderful. See you soon. Had a lovely meal at the Gandhi on Thursday, 28 December. Food was amazing and staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive (in particular the very good humoured Reggie [apologies if we have misspelt the name]). I can heartily recommend the specials, in particular the fish curry.

We are always welcomed warmly. The food and whole experience is very good and they always cater for my food intolerance as well as they can.

For our first visit we are impressed by the quality and the food. The service of Regi was an excellent standard, with warmth and professionalism.

The food is amazing, and the service is really special! Abdul make this restaurant one of my favourite.

I can’t fault the Gandhi! This is a family favourite restaurant for us. Every time we visit we are impressed by the quality and brilliant flavours of the food. You can’t go wrong ordering - every menu item is full of flavour and staff are always happy to help and answer questions. Tiny space chairs uncomfortable. £7.50 starter was a rip off, very expensive. Let me put in perspective 4 ordinary Naan cost £11.50 now you image what will be cost of main and gosh forbidden if u try to order beverage the cost will sky roof. Biryani was look biryani but test was a boiled rice. Rest of other dishes all test the same. We order 5 different main dishes.

We went with our friends, the food is very nice we had a large table the service was very good the staff are very friendly highly recommended

Excellent food we booked an 18:30 hrs table on a Monday the only ones there. The food was lovely, the waiters were very polite and friendly. All in all a brilliant meal

A Sunday buffet as it should be served. Fresh offerings kept fresh, good attentive, but not overpowering service, and a reason bill. Made me and my lady friend contented and happy. Recommended!

We have been dining out in this restaurant for many years. The food is faultless. They are also extremely accommodating to tweak dishes to your personal taste. The staff are always so professional and tonight we were served by Rej. He is extremely friendly, knowledgeable about the food and generally a very fun member of the team. An asset to the Ghandi.

We have been using this restaurant for years, never disappointed with the quality of food. Best around. Great customer service from Reggie as always.

DO NOT EAT IN THIS RESTAURANT!!!!!!! Food was so boring and lacked flavour, poor hygiene, restaurant was filled with flies, which I think is disgusting and completely put me off my dinner. I know for a fact I did not order them with my families meal. Toilets were filthy and were clearly in the process of still being built even though the restaurant has been open since 1996 AND what is with the one singular toilets for each gender???? Food is also not freshly made and it’s pretty obvious too… Lastly the staff made me and my family feel awkward as they kept looking over every five minutes.

Food was absolutely lovely. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was brilliant. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. Thankyou Reg and all the staff for such great service.

My wife and I went there for an impromptu meal to celebrate our anniversary. We have not been to the restaurant for afew years and was impressed with the quality and portion size of the food offered. We were not rushed and service was paced well between courses. The staff were very attentive and catered well for our dietary requirements - so a very big plus point for that. Well done and we'll be back!

Visited on Tuesday night with a colleague whilst away in business. Restaurant was lively, and the food was excellent - mixed kebab starters, chicken pathos, lamb madras and then sundries, with large Cobra. Staff were attentive and helpful, with the venue well presented. Decent value for money and will return the next time in town.

Popped in unexpectedly and they were able to accommodate the last minute booking despite being very busy. The food was amazing as was the warm welcome and friendly service we received. The atmosphere was pleasant with background music set just right. Thank you Reg, we will definitely be returning.

I have been going to the Gandhi for more than 15 years and I have never been disappointed. The food is excellent and the staff is amazing. I have introduced the restaurant to a lot of people and they unanimously say that at the Gandhi we eat the best Indian food. I 100% recommend it so if you have never been there, you are missing on a great experience.

Rej was a very welcoming and friendly bloke that made my experience so much more enjoyable. He was enthusiastic, fun & made me feel comfortable while dining at this restaurant. This is not the kind of restaurant that will blow you away. Its the kind of restaurant that is reliable, friendly, kind, clean and most of all delicious! Great quality food, peaceful atmosphere and friendly knowledgeable staff that gave us good recommendations aside from our usual. Expect banter and a little conversation. I regularly take my family to The Gandhi & we always come away happy, the food is delicious, the staff are always attentive (we were served by Reg last time & he was very good), the owner is excellent he will come & chat with you & even suggest dishes that go together with what you’re ordering. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for curry in Gravesend.

Fantastic friendly service. We stopped for a take away and the food came really quickly and was delicious! The team are really friendly and helpful - even went out do their way to help us with our car troubles! The restaurant itself has a cosy atmosphere and I’d definitely come here again.

Lovely place , the buffet was very bland, tasted more like a casserole. The meat was nice and tender. Probably won't visit again. I like a curry to taste like a curry.

Thoroughly enjoyed my meal. I especially recommend the King Prawn Pathia. I had it with bhindi bhaji and saag bhaji and it was utterly delicious.

Good food (Bangladeshi) not too expensive, nice decor despite the external appearance (looks a bit harsh). A nice evening and a stalwart of Gravesend's 'Indian' restaurant scene....

Definitely the best indian / Bangladeshi food in the Gravesend and Kent area. There are no shortage of indian food options in this area but I have found this restaurant consistent and the quality of the food shows that the owner and staff do not compromise. It is also conveniently located near the station and away from the hustle and bustle… The restaurant is clean, spacious and comfortable. Staff are friendly and the owner / manager does everything he can to make sure all guests leave with a smile 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

We have been here a number of times and the food is good but it’s pushed it’s prices up, also when we sat here the flies going in and out of the air conditioning unit really did concern me because it clearly wasn’t being used and not been maintained well! The seats are looking a little tired. The service is also good and friendly but we won’t be going back for a while

Food was ok. Standard British Indian restaurant offering. Service was decent. Cleanliness though is questionable. Unit in the restaurant used to store cutlery was black and the toilets were a place that I never want to go back to. I can only imagine what the kitchen is like.

Incredible food, service and delivery. I highly recommend the lamb shish and special fried rice; it's incredible and a great portion for the price. If you get the pleasure of having the delivery driver I had (Rory), then you'll have a very pleasant encounter and the best takeout handover I've ever experienced.

Food is rubbish and pathetic. It’s Bangladeshi Resturant and don’t know making Indian food. Had ordered aloo chat and they put poori in that. Don’t understand why these Bangladeshi’s spoils INDIA name in food industry.

Nice place with a car park near by which is free after 6pm . Food and service lovely. A tad more pricey but as a well established restaurant with 20years experience. It is still offering a quality meal.

Always used this restaurant in the past but after having a cockroach in the bag of poppadoms we won't be going back.

Went on a works outing and found the poppadoms and sauces were really good I had a chicken shaslik garlic nan and sag ponieer for a main and all were delicious and plentiful, the down side was there was far too many seats in the restaurant and we was all very cramped and there was also quite a few ordering mistakes..which I guess can happen over a large order ? But anyway I would definitely recommend going for a meal as overall it was really well cooked food, and a thoroughly enjoyable meal .

I received a delivery, with no free bag of salad, no complementary poppadom dips, poppadoms, or free bottle of coke, when you spend over £25, and I spent over £60. This is clearly a restaurant only catered for boring Westerners, with absolutely no pallet for a decent curry. It's not a bad curry, just boring. I had a Kahari, Rogan, and vindaloo, and they were all roughly the same, except the Kahari had large cut pepper in it, if they wrote Jalfrezi on the carton, I wouldn't of known the difference. You might aswell go to Shapla for the same experience, but cheaper.

We decided to go to the Gandhi as we have previously been and my wife enjoyed her vegetable curry , how disappointing was this visit . The starter I had prawn puri was perfectly small and the prawns we probably the smallest you could find . My wife said her curry was not the same standard as before and looked like it was just frozen vegetables used where her last one was chunks of vegetables. The size of the chutney pots are probably a third of the size they where before . It’s a shame the standards have slipped so far we won’t go back

if you are looking for good Indian food , I would avoid here, nice setting and comfortable restaurant, however the food quality is poor, with various dishes lacking flavour and all tasting similar, same Sause with slightly different ingredients. one dish was removed from bill after some heated discussions, apart from that the service was fairly good. shame as this could be a great restaurant, just needs a decent chef and better quality produce

It's an ok place for a satisfactory Indian restaurant. It's a British slant on Indian food and I don't think it's very authentic but the food is still good with an attentive staff who I found to be very business like in their approach. I enjoyed the atmosphere and it was very busy. It seems to be popular enough. I certainly will return as I liked the place. Gravesend is blessed with many Indian restaurants specialising with food from around that country this restaurant gives a good example of the British Indian food tradition.

Always get a takeaway from here,my partner and i have never eaten in the restaurant,so we decided to give it a try this evening as its walking distance.was not disappointed, service is spot on,food is amazing, better than the takeaway never felt rushed at any point.staff are so friendly.
