delicious food.. Best chips around

Been waiting over an hour for my food. Was staying in a nearby hotel, shop had my number. Decided to go outside and give them a call thinking it should be arriving around then he tells me he’s just left it at reception over half an hour ago. Didn’t bother to call me for me to come down and get it off him. Food cold 👎🏻

chicken wasn't cooked through. pink in places. missing pot of sauce and wasn't the usual galo quality. coleslaw seeping through a cardboard box tasted off and had a huge lump of peri dust on top. only edible thing was the fries

I ordered the chicken burger, cheesy chips and 7 chicken strips with turbo peri peri sauce. the burger was delicious, the chips were delicious and the chicken strips were delicious, it was all absolutely lovely. the only problem I had was with the cheesy chips, it's more like a nacho sauce than the traditional cheesy chips and I think it needed more of the cheese sauce to make it good value for money, nevertheless I was happy my order. will be returning tonight second night on the bounce. SCRAN!

I have ordered several times from this restaurant and have slowly noticed a decrease in the quality in the service have spoken directly with the restaurant but today was the worst chicken meal I have had I a long time. fries where overcooked cold and caked in salt. the chicken was dry and tasteless. hopefully the good old times return to this establishment.

Will never order from here again just got a rice box and chips with cheese sauce the chips was only thing ok however the cheese sauce come in a pot and was freezing cold normally it hot and on chips the rice box was no salad open it to find no chicken inside and it was in the bottom of the bag along with few bits of lettuce no sauce on the chicken and two tiny pieces that was cold rock hard and black and burnt in the edge and can of coke was pepsi I used to order from here loads and always said how nice it was butt lately it's gone right down hill they never have rice for the rice box when U order anymore, literally looks like who ever just done this wanted to go home and just chucked it in the bag literally and didn't care wouldn't even eat it as it's been outside in a bag and the bottom of bag is soggy from the lettuce x

Sadly the order was wrong. The fries that came with the chicken wings were covered in Peri salt, we ordered plain fries. Also the chicken wings were in the BBQ sauce which is meant to be an optional extra, again we didn’t choose this. We asked for plain chicken wings. Sadly my son wasn’t able to eat anything ordered.

Chicken was tasty, Peri Peri chips were delicious, but unfortunately the wrap was burned.

Steer clear. Food arrived fairly quickly. However, I ordered lemon and herb flavouring for my food and it arrived with no sauce, zero flavour and was beyond dry. Also ordered salted butter sweetcorn and they gave me plain sweetcorn which was beyond charred. Ordered 2 x fries and one was missing, and so was the chilli jam. Called and queried this with the restaurant, they were pleasant enough in the long run and said they'd deliver the missing pieces. It's been 12 hours since that call and the missing food still hasn't arrived so I'd safely assume it's not coming!! That said, the 5wings i ordered were tasty and very spicy, definitely needed that coleslaw to go with it. It is a shame they can't make their own coleslaw though, for £3.20 a pop I'd expect something more than bulk shop bought slaw to be perfectly honest). Really disappointed and will never ever recommend this place. Seriously, avoid avoid avoid.

steer clear. several missing items reported an HOUR ago, was told they'd be resent. still not arrived. the food we did receive was rubbish, I asked for lemon and herb flavour & it had NO flavour at all. asked for salted butter corn & received plain burnt corn. ordered 2 x fries & only 1 arrived. just overall really rubbish. disappointed and fuming I actually paid money for this.

i was so excited and even more disappointed! the crispy wrap was soggy. the worst part was the rice which i left for last looks nothing like the picture as advertised and is quite literally plain rice, plain yellow rice with none of the added bits of food.

Sorry to leave a bad review but the last few meals we've had from you are not up to the old standard... I had a burger with barely any chicken or sauce/flavour in it, two small pieces only. Also only had 4 wings instead of 5 and it smelled a bit funny to be honest. Shame because it's a rare treat for us now to get food from you guys. Have tried to call but it rung out twice.

How can you advertise a hand stretched sourdough base and buffalo mozzarella then send out a cheap shop bought oven pizza with some parmesan chucked on it 😂 I’d strongly urge everyone to stick to the chicken as that’s something they actually do well most of the time

Ordered 1 rice and 1 chips (chips came with meal deal) just got two chips instead, meal deal meant to come with a can of Dr Pepper and no drink delivered. Chicken was nice, but chips were cold. Usually love this place and great, but a bit disappointed this time

Literally the best burger I’ve ever had, I wanted something fresh with a difference and I got that, if you choose Nando’s or kfc over this, you’re mugs, amazing quality, I like food and the portions were more than generous. Thank you galo

Well its been quite a while since I left a review here and thats simply because nothing has changed. So I thought it only fair to give another review some 12 months on. This is simply the best peri chicken Ive had. I only had something once as good and that was the old Galleria on Brixton Hill in London (now closed for many many years). Galo's peri chicken is just so fresh, moist, juicy and tasty with really good size portions and totally authentic portuguese (nothing like the other chicken chain shops). Their burger is also one of the best burgers Ive ever had, and defintealy the best in Folkestone if you like a proper nice juicy burger. the fries, peri fries, corn on the cob and everything else is just cooked to perfection. The staff are great and very welcoming and friendly. I occasionlly had the wrong order or missing something and they sent them out again straight away. Dont miss out, you seriously must try this place if you like chicken or burgers.

We love the chicken there but this is the second time we don't get what we order. Missing fries and they put lemon herb instead of garlic sauce. Last time they missed the dessert.

The hot peri-peri chicken was freshly cooked, succulent and of a bearable heat with a good tasty char grilled flavour.

Lemon and herb chicken was succulent and tasty. Enjoyed coleslaw and the chips were good too! Excellent value. Will definitely order again.

Disappointed tonight as my order wasn’t great and usually the food here is excellent. Food arrived early but it was cold. Nothing was wrapped properly, the fries and the kids meal boxes were left open. The chicken was dry and tough. It’s definitely made me reconsider ordering from here again.

Food was really bland, my wrap came totally wrong and the chicken inside was so dry it was inedible. Shame as was really looking forward to this, but so below expectations.

Burger was excellent. Well made and presented. The peri fries look orange on the pictures but it looks like they have cooked them with the spices on rather than seasoning them with it after. The result is a blackened tasteless peppery flavour. Id have rathered plain if id known as the fries themselves are good too. I did see it says peri fries are not available on one page. Maybe they ran out of the good stuff?

The food was cold by the time it got delivered, we ordered quite alot... and much of our order was missing! The Portuguese rice and the tiramasu was missing, we ordered at around half past 11, food arrived closer to 1am, heavily over estimated delivery time...and of course by the time we got our order the shop was no longer answering the phone when we tried to make them aware our order had missing food. The chicken was nice, cold but edible, however the chips was rock hard from being so cold as was the garlic bread (which was also quite dry, cold and burnt) unfortunately our experience with this place has left us not wishing to ever order from them again, what a waste of 60 pound tbh.

Excellent food again. Thought we’d give the turbo sauce a go this time, it’s a big step up in spice level from the hot one, not for the faint hearted. Great chicken and sides as ever, will definitely order again.

1/2 Bird for me "Turbo" flavour and I can confirm there was definitely a kick behind it, My wife had a boneless breast which was dry and overcooked. The side orders were the let down for my meal however. Portuguese Rice looked good but had Zero flavour and Coleslaw was a small pot of generic shop bought that tasted exactly the same as the pot I purchased from Aldi the day before, all for a whopping £2.75 each.. The Garlic Bread was not bad, nice grill marks where they had toasted it on the bars but all in all, it didn't feel like a £30 meal and given the choice again I would more than likely go to Nando's
