Gallones Ice Cream in Harborough

Great place to take kids to. Lovely ice cream and well worth the price. Especially the large tubs to take home for the freezer!

I had my daughter’s 7th birthday party here and it was fantastic! Lots of lovely treats and games which had everyone smiling and giggling, our host was lovely and did well with 7 girls. The 2hours flew by and all the girls were sad too leave. My only regret was not buying myself an ice cream - food envy! A great experience and a super happy daughter!

Sadly not very Autism friendly, queue was a mile long with one person serving, I asked if I could be served sooner as my Son really is unable to wait for long periods, (I wanted one milkshake), I was told that the queue would go down quicker as another person would now be serving. I waited 20 minutes to get served. Milkshake was good however very overpriced for what it was (£5.50). Will attempt another visit maybe at a quieter time. I really wish there was more understanding on how much anxiety is provoked in a young person with severe autism when they are expected to wait in a very long busy queue. I really did expect a better response and so it the lady behind me.

Nice ice cream with a variety of choices to choose from, all come with free extras if choose of sauce, smarties, sprinkles etc. I had cherry with cherry sauce, yum. Not cheap for what you get, one scoop for £3.75. Tables were sticky and previous customers pots etc had not been cleaned away on most tables. Would recommend a visit, more a take out than eat in. Toilet available.

Lovely ice cream, can’t fault it! Price was quite high for what you got though. Place itself was spacious and great for families!

Disappointed! Family visit, the service was incredibly slow especially for a Saturday afternoon. My pancake was under cooked & we had to chance our drinks. Won’t be recommending it anytime soon.

As a local Gallone's has always been a place to take the kids for a treat. Today after the school I took the kids for an ice cream. The staff are always lovely and I was served very quickly. Kids had a bambino scoop which is one scoop with whipped cream and a sauce and topping of their choice. £3.25 each. Kids loving their ice creams piled high with all there toppings. Then there was me. I queried if they could do an expresso with a scoop of vanilla icecream aka an affogato which used to be on the menu but I could no longer see it. "Ah you mean an Affogato" said the lady serving. It turned out they do Affogatos. Then I came to pay. £14.95..... Surely not. I asked for a receipt. For a shot of expresso and a scoop of vanilla ice cream aka an affogato was £7.45!!! Just to confirm. 2 bambino scoops piled high with cream, sauce, flakes and sweets were £7.50 (3.25) and an shot of coffee with one scoop of plain ice cream was £7.45!!!! I have had affogatos in various places and was expecting to pay around the £3-5 mark but not £7.45. Well, let's be open minded, it could be the best one yet. Oh dear... It certainly wasn't. Upon pouring the warm expresso over the vanilla ice cream it became clear just how poorly made the vanilla ice cream is. It was full of ice crystals adding a crunchy texture to the cold drink. Gallone's if you don't belive me.... Try it. Lastly on Wednesdays senior citizens get 20% discount... Why do they get 20% off. Free TV licence, free bus pass, blue badges, mortgage free, it's a fact that our elderly generation are far better off then most generations. Maybe 20% for blue light card holders or EVERYONE would be better. I am hoping Gallone's take note and listen to it's loyal customer base. We shall see.

My teenage daughter visited the ice cream parlour with her friends today. She ordered a scoop of sorbet. She said it was tiny, her friends commented on how it was much smaller than their ice creams. My daughter said it looked as though they'd given her the dregs off the container as it was all broken rather than a round scoop. She was too embarrassed to complain at the time so I contacted Gallone's myself. Their response was: 'Thank you for your message. I'm sorry to hear your daughter didn’t feel her scoop was the correct size. Our scoops are a standard size, and all sundaes are sold offering sauce, topping and a wafer, cream if wanted.' Her portion certainly wasn't a scoop. She asked for sauce which she was given but not offered a topping, wafer or cream. Gallone's was such a great place for ice cream when it first opened but sadly it has gone downhill in recent years.

I took my Dad for an ice cream cone, he had cookie and I had raspberry ripple. Nice ice cream, long wait but there was a kids party going on. I liked the cherry sauce.

The place was busy so had a long wait to order, which is fair enough. Ordered two desserts, which for the best part of £15, is on the pricey side of things. Waited about 15 minutes after ordering for the first dessert to arrive. Had to chase up for the second one after another 5 minute wait, and when it arrived was just plonked on the table without a single word from the waitress. An apology for the wait would have been nice but to not say a single word seemed pretty rude tbh. I felt like she was annoyed that I'd chased it up. Customer service definitely needs some work, and faster service required. Not sure I'd bother with this place again!

Always a great place to treat yourself. Excellent service and food. Kids love it. The tables and surroundings are immaculate, and the ice cream is delightful.

We took the kids ( ages 5 and 3 ) for ice cream A disappointing experience We ordered the millionaire ice cream, but didn't have the chocolate pieces. We had to go with our second choices which were the choc mint and kinder ice creams. These were decent in size and taste, but not as great as expected The kids had unicorn delights, the pictures in adverts had nice lollies popping out the top, but they received the cheapest if the cheap lollies that got binned We knew the prices before going and expected a better experience and quality of ice cream In our experience it's definitely not worth the money

Taken my granddaughter a lot of times here and the staff are wonderful with amazing patience. Great fun for the kids so many ice creams to choose from she always comes out of here happy.

On Saturday evening we decided on a whim that we really wanted to go and have a proper ice cream somewhere on "sundae" morning. So after a 9 mile run to give me room for the calorific extravaganza ahead, we set out from rainy Kettering, on the short journey to an equally rainy Market Harborough. We were quickly served and seated in the airy and comfortable surroundings and minutes later, my youngest and I were tucking into a Kinder and Cherry Bakewell Sundae respectively. Both were generous servings with quality ingredients and lovely ice cream. We will be visiting again to hopefully sample something else from the wide menu available. Delicious.

Ordered a 2 scoop with a topping in a tub rather than cone. Because I don't like having a cone. It came in a plastic thing, which is horrendous for the environment which is a whole different story, and cost £4.25! When a 2 scoop on a cone costs £2.95 and toppings only 50p. Complained via Facebook to be met with stale unfriendly customer service. I understand that I was charged for a 'sundae' but the issue is I didn't order a sundae or was told about this when ordering. You get no more ice cream than if I got a cone so you're just pushing the price of the horrible plastic onto the consumer, which had I known before hand I would not have ordered. Most ice cream parlours offer a cardboard tub and cardboard spoon, guess gallones are behind the times!

We took our daughter to a few birthday parties before the Covid-19 lockdown in February / March. My daughter was given a tub of icecream to take home after each one and my daughter refused to eat it so it went into the bin! For each party it was the same, more horrible choice of inedible icecreams. These icecreams were sprinkled with poor quality toppings. I wouldn’t do my child’s party there. My daughter said she was bored after the 1st one. We made her go to the others as the children had attended her party and kindly invited her to their party. The party room is very small so only two adults and one staff member can be present. We went as I couldn’t spend 2hrs at Gallones. I don’t know why people here like poor quality ice cream. It’s really bad. I haven’t eaten it since the my first attempt a good few years ago. If one had to compare to ice cream you find in Sorrento Italy or Spain this is so dissimilar. It’s more akin to cheap scoop icecream you get at children’s birthday parties. AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID

We visited on a busy half term afternoon. We were served efficiently and the pancakes were delicious. Massive choice of toppings.

The ice cream and desserts here are always great, the best ice cream parlour around by far. Good size portions, and terrific choice of ice cream flavours. Its more pleasant when its quiet which is generally weekdays during school times, seating can be short and waiting long when schools are out. My daughter loves the milkshakes, i generally have a 2 scoop cone. There is also a good choice of drinks.

Great choice of local ice creams and sundae's in a pleasant diner. A child's dream and an adult's indulgence. Very wide choice, well presented.

The selection of flavours as well as toppings are great! The ice cream itself tastes amazing and they serve great drinks such as milkshakes and coffees. The staff are really friendly too! A tad expensive though.

Love this place , and staff are so nice . After a awful meal at wild wood and feeling down , we decided to go for our sweet at the parlour for my granddaughters birthday glad we did as it salvaged the evening lovely staff and wonderful ice creams

My children love coming here with multiple choices of ice creams and add extras, I just have a lovely coffee they serve as I hate ice cream.

This weekend I visited Gallone’s ice cream, the staff and the customer service was great. My partner is still talking about this waffle!

This is mainly for ice cream , but they serve great coffee, but the menu has some great ice cream dishes on it , again the staff are polite and serve to your table , we have only had coffee , and yet to try one of the ice cream dishes , what other people have had they look very nice .

Came here during the July heatwave. Ome of the beat ideas ive ever had. Paid £5 for 3 scoops with gummy bears and bubblegum sauce for topping. Spoilf for choice, there must have been 30 ice creams to choose from, all looked yummy and exotic. I had the cherry, toffee chew chew and strawberry. Every mouthful was heaven.

Our first visit and I very nearly lost my husband to the ice cream factory.He had the biggest sundae on the situation menu and made light work of it.... the flavours of ice creams are plentiful and delicious.The options for creating your own sundaes are fantastic and my children enjoyed the own creations.We shall definitely visit again - there are flavours we are yet to try so we feel we have to visit again...

We visited on a really hot afternoon and the parlour was really busy. However the service was quick, efficient and friendly.The sundaes themselves were lovely, a real treat.The only reason I haven’t given 5 stars was the place was filthy! The floor had been cleaned with a dirty mop then walked on whilst wet,and there was litter on the floor.Such a pity because the food and staff were lovely!!

Ice-cream was really lovely, but when we asked if we could have the scoop in a take away tub instead of a cone got told that we could but the scoop of ice cream would be charged as it the same price as a sundae rather than a cone. The sundae is about twice as much! Disappointed

Just popped in here for a quick coffee on my own I placed my order inside which was taken by a very friendly girl I told her I would sit out side and she said she would bring it out to me when she brought my coffee out she said I forgot to ask you if you take sugar so Iv given you white brown and a sweetener I thought that was really nice of her I also got a little biscuit (bonus) I would defiantly be visiting here again and maybe try an ice cream or two

Gallone’s offers a vast range of delicious ice creams served in cones or as part of immense sundaes. The ice cream is reasonably priced and deliciously creamy. If you’re looking to sit down and enjoy an ice cream in Market Harborough this is a great place to try.

This place is great to take the kids and have a relaxing coffee - service can sometime be a bit slow on the hot drinks but they are not costa coffee, but its a win win place with kids.

The choice of ice cream was amazing and that was where being impressed stopped. I had to wait 10-15 mins to be served as the extended family from hell were in front of me, indecisive, kids wanting to try several different flavours, grandparents and parents dilly-dallying, rude, demanding 'can I get..' with no please or thankyou, and considering there were THREE members of staff behind the counter, I fail to see why the wait took so long. Why didn't the staff member try to hurry them along? Other paying customers were waiting, and waiting.....It wasn't immediately clear what the prices were, other than bowls of ice cream sundae which they were clearly trying to upsell rather than just cones with scoops of ice cream. The tables were not cleared, the queue after the family from hell was finally served became enormous and it wasn't clear behind the counter who was doing what or serving who. The seating was cramped and people were pushing past as we were sat at the side.Had I not been with children who wanted the ice creams I would've happily left. Several customers could have done with a wash before entering the ice cream parlour, definite regulars judging by the size of them. Today was my first visit following a kids' party there which was good, but I'd prefer to avoid the scrum, the great unwashed customer base and the prices, at nearly £10 for two ice cream cones and a black coffee! Would I go back? No, in a word.

Awesome selection of ice cream flavours; all that I've tried are really delicious, with generous servings. The staff are very friendly and smiley. This place can get busy as it's so popular, but I've always received fantastic service. My favourite is the Wimbledon Mess - heaven in a sundae glass!!

My first visit to the Symington Building which houses a wine/ cocktail bar,a cafe,museum ,local council offices and the ice cream parlour..The parlour is in the old "club room" but is decked out in a 1950's style cafe. There is a hidden room for ice- cream parties but noticed it as the door was left open.The ice- cream selection was at least 20+,the choices on how to eat it from cones ,waffles,sundaes,toppings of the sweet variety or surgery sauces.I had the large tiramisu single scoop in a large crispy cone it was a plenty for sugar rush treat but the were children coming in for 2 scoops us sweets on top.There was cold and hot drinks provided.Managed to sit on one of the high springy stool but you could sit out side but there weren't many chairs or tables.It looks like it can be busy as the notice said to wait to be seated but we went about tea time so spaces in side so could choose where to sit.Ice-creams were tasty as we had a taste of each other..!

We made a special trip over to gallones today and I was very pleased. I had a lovely waffle and 2 diffrent types of ice creams. As a group we mostly had waffles we also had milkshakes and hot chocolates, they were also really nice. We went mid afternoon and the place was a bit un organised with a long queue of people and they prepare the food while you wait at the counter which in turn makes the queue longer. It was a very pleasant afternoon though and the food above all was lovely! I would suggest for the best experience go inside the school term as it shouldn't be as busy.

We found Gallones by chance, what a treat it was. The selection of ice cream was huge, they also do wicked waffles. I went for the 3 scoop sundae, wow, the tiramisu ice was amazing. Well worth a visit.

La selección y la calidad del helado era insuperable, pero oh, la mayoría del personal poco atento y extremadamente brusco y hizo bastante claro que no quería estar allí. No quitaban las mesas lo suficientemente rápido, y cuando mencionamos que no eran felices. Preguntar por un recibo bajó hasta un ballon de plomo comouna sonrisa y un hola va un largo camino! ! !

Somewhat tucked away this is an excellent ice cream parlour that is well worth scouting out! It is decorated in an American style which is appropriate for the venture

Llevamos nuestra nieta, que había sido antes con sus padres, así que esta fue la primera vez para nosotros. Qué hermoso joven que nos sirvió fantástico servicio al cliente tenía la nieta de helado con trocitos de chocolate, con todo lo que tenía un precioso café americano sin duda volveremos realmente disfrutamos de nuestra visita.

Servicio, uno de los días más calurosos del año mediocre y tenían 3 chicas que sirve. Mi hija y mi nieta había terminado el suyo antes de la waffle incluso llegué. Entonces, a pesar de que nos dijeron 3 veces sin crema (una de esas veces fue contestado con "Yo sé"), todavía logró poner crema a un refresco. Teníamos todo terminado (30 minutos después) y la tarta de manzana caliente'' por fin llegamos- tibia en el mejor de los casos. Tardó una hora en total y sin duda no merece la pena esperar o el precio!

El salón es muy espacioso y limpio.Tienen menús para elegir y un montón de fotos en la pared para inspirar.El personal era muy servicial y amable y paciente. Las tortitas y gofres eran increíbles y niños les encantaron sus helados con un montón de ingredientes.Hay un aseo con instalaciones para cambiar pañales.No puedo esperar a volver.

I went to Gallone's ice cream parlour and there were so many flavours to choose from ! They had drinks as well and were very polite and happy my son had a party here too and had a wonderful time would definitely come again, and wheelchair and pram ( and double pram too ) very impressed with it all would recommend it to anyone and everyone if you or your family have a sweet tooth

Tengo un problema con Gallone. . . No puedo caminar por mis hijos, sin ser desesperada para visitar y no necesito la excusa :-) me encanta el hecho de que tiene un ambiente 1950 dentro y siempre muy limpio. Tienen una enorme variedad de helados, pero también nos encantan los gofres. Estamos muy contentos de que Harborough tiene una heladería!

Este lugar es increíble! Es bastante oculto desde la carretera principal así que estuvimos aquí por un capricho, pero hay más de 60 sabores y el helado de crema italiana es propia de hielo. Usted puede incluso comprar algunos allí en en Waitrose. El personal es amable y servicial, y el café es rara vez lleno, así que no hay necesidad de esperar. Puede haber harborough algunas campanas y silbidos de un agradable salón de lujo helado, pero como el coche, sigue siendo una 'Honda' debajo de todo esto. . Y este es el. problema que tengo. Masa producida tratando de ser 'artesanos' o 'lujo' y no lo es. Es una pena realmente, ya que los precios indican que debería serademás la cola y sistema de pedidos es estúpida y desordenado

Great party in the ice-cream factory party room. Kids had great fun making and tasting their ice-creams, ate pizza, played party games and had a mini disco. Hosted really well by the enthuastic staff; thank-you so much. Would definitely recommend it for a kids party.

If you love ice cream you must visit this place. There are over 62 flavours. These include smarties, maltesers, bubblegum absolutely everything!!! The ice cream is well priced too at only £1.80 for a scoop.

Visitamos un par de veces recientemente con el medio mejor y una pandilla de nietos y todo lo que puedo decir es que el helado puede ser bonito - si en realidad el sabor correctamente. El gran problema aquí, como el medio mejor informado y aburrido, buscando un miembro del personal, desinteresado, el lugar está lleno de un penetrante olor químico que toma y, en verdad, su paladar de impide hacer un trabajo adecuado. No sé lo que el olor es agradable pero no es completamente arruinada y lo que debería haber sido un regalo especial.

I visited this parlour for my daughters 5th birthday party..would never recommend this place to anyone. Considering the price was £14 per child the service was absoultley awful..could of done it better myself..emailed customer services .was given an apalling apology .no refund offered.not even a reply after my second message was sent . Stay away !!

Tenía algunos helados aquí después de 8 meses de estar en Market Harborough. Hay más de 30 sabores para elegir en un momento con una amplia variedad. El helado es bien de precio de £1.80 para una bola y las porciones eran grandes. Absolutamente increíble! Recomiendo el helado de avellana:).

Lo pondré de esta manera no regresaré!! Salones de helado son divertidos, sabroso y poder calorífico. Tome heladerías Gino's por ejemplo - en una palabra impresionante, Gallones era terrible en comparación! Pedí lo que pensé sería fantástico, dulces y una delicia pura, es cualquier cosa menos eso. Crema de chocolate caliente de hielo refresco mi cabeza me metía chocolate caliente fundido que podría en mi helado, lo que en realidad fue recibido en promedio dos bolas de helado de vainilla uno mejor uno de chocolate y esperar a que... Tienda comprar chocolate caliente aguado estándar en una taza para beber, qué sensación de sabor! Gracias pero si vas a hacer una heladería hacerlo correctamente o no te molestes.

Nice place with some interesting ice cream flavours. Not too expensive. Be prepared to wait a while as it takes time to get served, especially for hot drinks and waffles etc. Great for the kids.

Took grandchildren in for ice cream. There are loads to chose from in size, colour and taste. Even do birthday parties. Kids loved it.

Es bonito, pero eso es donde termina. No recuerdo la última vez que pasamos sin sabor barato helado. No importa qué sabor elegí como le faltaba sabor y no pude probar mucho del sabor era pretendan ser.Probé el helado de pistacho y voila, no sabía nada de mucho. El mejor helado de pistacho que tuve fue en Barcelona y Turquía, quienes eran divinos y contenía real no es barato aromatizantes químicos pistachos. Baskin Robbins hace helados, así como Häagen-Dazs optó por. Ambos tienen una buena consistencia fluida a diferencia de Gallones barato esponjosas química basura.Acabé tomando un refresco helado, fue tan decepcionante y no recuerdo qué sabores me tomó como estaban totalmente olvidable. Este no es en absoluto!Mi hija también dieron un refresco y ella tuvo una cucharada y se negó a comer más. Mi sobrina tenía un waffle y helado y ella lo disfruté. Ella era probablemente el único que la tenía.No volvería, ni se lo recomendaría este lugar, no bien helado de todos modos.

En julio hace calor. Para refrescar podías poner en un congelador en un supermercado o podías ir a Gallone para una épica helados.Es muy sencillo. Ir allí, disfrutar y pensar en excusas para ir de nuevo.Helado de banana split hoy era caramelo y fresa shortcake para morder.Vaya... Go go go go go go

We went for ice cream on a Saturday afternoon. It was very busy, with most tables taken but we were served promptly and efficiently. There were many flavours to select from and prices were quite reasonable.

After seeing one of the servers (I believe her name to be Alice) use her bare (unwashed during the half an hour of being in the restaurant) hands to put toppings upon waffle/crepe dishes, we asked if it would be possible to use a spoon to do this - as a sufferer of diagnosed OCD about hygiene, I didn't think this was too much to ask of a restaurant who have a 4* hygiene rating. This did not get followed through. The server used her hands and, after bringing this up, not even an apology was offered. Disappointing and I will not be visiting again.

Hay casi una cola constante, pero esto es porque estás fueron conducidos hasta el mostrador, es sólo en este punto que realmente se puede hacer una selección (especialmente con un 6 y 5 años) y esta capacidad la cola de cargas. Debido a la lentitud del servicio en las mesas ocasión no limpiaron con suficiente frecuencia, aunque no es el fin del mundo.Si te gusta el helado y tener la paciencia de ir saint aquí usted tendrá un gran tiempo para comer helado delicioso y desafiante su nivel de tolerancia para los retrasos!

Very clean, lots of choice. Pleasant knowledgeable staff, helpful kind and just simply brilliant customer service! We even bought a tub to bring home! Kids had ice creams, husband and I had waffles, ice cream included and a latte! Loved it will be back!!

Un salón de helados verdaderamente encantadora de hielo... la variedad de sabores que van desde nivel fuera de la pared, son maravillosos. Me encanta su ensalada de frutas, Black Jack y Salados Carmel, de hecho, los tres como cerezas ir bien, eso es lo que yo tenía junto con crema. Mi esposa tenía blackjack con una escama ... Los niños nos trataron bien por el personal, fueron capaces de probar unos sabores antes de decidir ... el salón también está bien presentado y se beneficia de increíble luz natural, creo que está orientada al sur, así que sí... una agradable viaje ... volveremos.

Personal amable, limpio ambiente, mesas limpiado rápidamente, y lo que es más importante, los más deliciosos crepes, gofres y helado! La única pega (y no es realmente un punto negativo es que es tan difícil de elegir todos los sabores fabulosos de helados y coberturas. Es una hora en coche para nosotros, pero no cabe duda de que volveremos :)

Nice trad ice cream parlour. Nice staff and fab flavours. Best rum'n'raisin ever! OK so there can be a bit of a wait but who's rushing?? Chill 😉

In theory this ice-cream parlor come café should be doing better trade that in it. Yes it’s tucked away on a corner of Adam and Eve Street next to the council offices but it’s still in a prominent enough location. In fact, Gallones should be something of a destination venue due it almost having a Unique Selling Point every ice-cream combination imaginable is available and, given the plethora of Market Harborough’s cafés and restaurants, you’d expect them to capitalise, somehow they don’t. I have my theory and this is it: the atmosphere inside the shop is a damp squib. The counter is miles from the entrance with a small separate room for parties wedged in between. It should exploit hot drinks further too. That all said, I've been twice and had a decent time.

Been here few times with my two boys. They love it and so do I. Great selection of ice creams and not too badly priced. Can get busy on nice days though. Great place to bring visitors. Highly recommended.

Vine aquí con mi cuñada y nuestros 6 niños. Había un montón de asientos y una gran variedad de sabores de todo el mundo, incluyendo sorbetes. Mi única pega es la variedad de servicio al cliente. La chica que me sirvió era agradable pero la señora mayor que nos servía era un poco miserable cuando el hijo menor cambió de opinión. Sobre todo, es un gran lugar para ir.

My husband used to drive an ice cream van for the Gallone's family business as a summer job. He maintains to this day that the vanilla soft ice cream is still the best in Britain. And now we don't have to drive to Northampton to buy some. AND there are so many flavours! The coffees and other dishes offered are also delicious. Well worth a visit or four!

Took the grand daughter for a blue ice cream. she loves it at Gallones and cannot wait for the next visit. She recently attended a birthday party with her mother and they thoroughly enjoyed it. A great addition to Market Harborough

My son loves the variety of flavours available, I like the relaxed atmosphere and their mocha. Although have to say their nutella pancake was devine! A great place for children and adults alike.
