Very nice brioche blueberry pastry, no pastry fork. Teapot chipped in five separate places, inadequate loose tea, weak dishwasher type drink. Replaced by the staff but same tea. Staff not trained properly in making a decent cup of tea. At least four staff behind the til, many unoccupied, tea left at the counter. Needs better management, unless it relies on one-off undemanding tourist trade.

So many pastry choices! They kept bringing out more and more. We finally made our choice and they were delicious. I could have come back daily but we were only here one night. Highly recommend for great pastries.

Stopped for a quick breakfast before a trip to Kew Gardens on a Sunday. A few seats available. Coffee was great. Had ham and cheese croissant and apple tahini cake both were delicious.

Usually going to a high street chain coffee shop, I spotted GAIL’s on our way to Kew Gardens and we decided to give it a try. So glad we did the coffee was really nice and the cakes to die for. I had a blueberry muffin which was still warm, so it was soft and squidgy and my hubby had a cinnamon bun, which I pinched a bit off to try and that was delicious too. We tried a lot of the coffee shops in and around London on our city break and had breakfast in a few of them too.

Would have had lunch, if there was a selection usually available elsewhere, but from what was left, we still had a couple of pastries, good coffee, pot of tea and it was good quality, although the environment needed a clean up!

This is a lovely bakery on the lovely parade between Kew Gardens underground station and the botanic gardens. Mer had a sausage roll, chocolate cookie and two waters. The baked goods were sensational and the prices reasonable. There was indoor and outdoor seating.

Clueless so many staff but no manager. Didn’t know what food on menu was on or off. Went for porridge for simplicity. Maybe it’s a Gails speciality but cold porridge isn’t what I was expecting. No apology even. Said Chef would make some more hot porridge. 20 mins later. Nothing. Told chef still making hot porridge. Had to leave as had commitments. Shame as this chain is good elsewhere - I’d just avoid the Kew branch.

We popped in. For lunch. There is plenty of seating here. We have had their bread and cakes but not their sandwiches before. We tried pastrami bagels which were delicious, the bagels were freshly baked with seeds and there was plenty of pastrami with possibly a little too much mustard mayo. All in all excellent quality, not cheap though at something over £7.

Unfortunately Pala kebab is well passed there golden years. The kebabs used to be fresh, hot & tasty. Unfortunately now the kebabs are dry & tasteless. The meat is very dry & the salad you get is not that fresh. Very disappointed & will never go in there again. It's been going down hill for a very long time. But used to persevere for old time sake. Very sad really.

The tikka masala was horrible today. Hardly any taste, and way more sauce than chicken. It was also very watery, when I mixed my curry and rice together there was a big puddle at the bottom of my bowl! The food was also cold when it arrived (all of it) and the chapatti was soggy. Couldn’t even bare to eat it as it was all so soggy and watery and tasteless. Not sure if it’s different chefs as I’ve ordered from here before and it’s been fine but I definitely won’t be ordering again

It was the worst experience of my life. The food were tiny proportions and tasteless. The food and drink was grossly overpriced. The service was appalling. The servers looked underage and were extremely rude. We felt like garbage. I would never go back there again and highly recommend everyone should avoid these premises like the plague.

Was better with a live band rather than piped music from a recorded band
