Gadgie Burger in Kingston upon Hull, City of

This isn't gadgie burger no more , the stuff there producing now isn't hand made stuff its cheap and tacky ingredients must of been taken over as the stuff we received wasn't gadgie / dope burger standard it was ya classic hull fair cheap burger absolute shambles

Food was 2hrs late, meat was dry, green stuff in burger, hair in my bag of chips, phone line given does not exist please don't be fooled by the 5 star hygiene rating this is the worst experience I've ever had at a takeaway

Ordered tonight - delivery was almost an hour late. Burgers were dry, no sauce.. onion rings barely cooked. Sweet potato fries barely cooked. Absolutely shocking for the price paid. Not sure if it's been taken over as it used to be really good? Breadbuns were dry as hell.. just awful.

Ordered with just eat. Missing part of my order and my burger bun was black. No way to contact them. Don't bother.

Absolutely shocking from Gadgie Burger, paid £50 for 3 cow and chicken burgers and 3 large pizza fries which I have had before. The fries were a small size all wrong toppings. The burger order was completely wrong and included items people do not like so rendered all the items inedible for the people who ordered them. Everything was cold as well. To make it worse the supposed closing time was 22:00 we went to the premises at 21:30 to complain (the time at which they delivered) and it was shut. They clearly wanted to finish early for the evening and it shows from our rushed ordered. I have sang the praise of Gadgie Burger in the past but not again. Will never order again. Abysmal.

Ordered through UberEats. Order was over 1 hour late so waited 2 hours for delivery. There is literally no way to contact Gadgie on Anlaby Rd as the phone numbers given do not work! The food was actually nice but the delivery service has put me off ordering again.

Awful service. They called me at the time my order was due to be delivered to my house and informed me they had ran out of halloumi and if I wanted anything else. Unable to ring back and cancel due to phone line no longer existing. Food has still not arrived but I wouldn’t recommend on the customer service alone.

Ordered at 7.30, delivery time was 8.10 to 8.30. Then received a text to say 8.30 to 8.50. Still hadn't arrived by 9.10 so husband visited the shop to find it shut! Presumed nothing was going to arrive but another text arrive saying delivery would be 9.40. It finally arrived just gone 10pm. The delivery driver said they were short staffed but actually looking at reviews it's a common occurrence. The chips and onion rings were OK, the 2 star is because the burger was actually really nice and fresh otherwise it would've been a 1! Just not acceptable service at all.

Arrived late but food was spot on. Heard great reviews and didn't disappoint. Huge portions, couldn't eat it all. Would definitely order again.

Ordered 4 meals via the uber eats app. Would not let me pay unless I added a tip! After waiting nearly 80 mins we thought it hadn't arrived. Tried calling Gadgie Burger but call would not go through. Went on the help section of the app and picked the option of delivery not received. Advised us to look outside or in safe place. Found the order dumped outside the front door, did not knock or ring doorbell to let us know it had arrived. Food was stone cold. Wasted nearly £40, WILL NOT USE AGAIN!!!

Don’t order if you want to receive food on time or within a 30min window of that time. Try 2 hours post order and you might be in with a chance. 2nd time experience of the same thing. Cannot contact either phone line fails

Heard great reviews but wouldn't bother to be honest over an hour after ordering and no sign of delivery , no way of contacting as they are (streamlining) the business and getting rid of phones "apparently" finally get through on messanger and told if I cancel I still get charged . absolutely appalling . Checked delivery status and had been updated so if it does arrive it could be upto 3 hours from first order.

Stone cold on delivery. Waited 2 hours for 2 burgers and a hot dog which I could of lived with if it wasn't freezing on arrival. Waste of time

Absolutely appalled, ordered online a vegetarian meal and when it came I soon realised it was chicken, rang several times and no one answered, completely distraught.

We ordered food at 8pm eta 9pm, 10.35 no food, I assume there shut as they is no answer, Having been told at 9.15pm the food is on the way this is awful, how can people with these types of businesses think it's okay todo this? If this is how so called half decent food outlets are ran it is very shameful, more fool you gadgie burger. Rubbish will never attempt to get food from this s...t show again.

I can't understand why, when I ordered a mexicano burger through Uber eats, which is described exactly as follows: "100% beef patty, topped with scotch bonnet chillies, jalapeños, Gadgie hot sauce and smothered in cheese" when what I got was a completely different burger, it was Bolognese on top of a burger with some jalapenos and cold unmelted cheese on it. I didn't ask for Bolognese, or the tortilla chips from Aldi (at least buy the mid range ones and not the nasty 30p ones that taste like plastic) nor were either listed as part of the burger and where were my scotch bonnet chillies? and hot sauce? I feel ripped off, the patty was nice but that's all I'm afraid even the chips were greasy and overcooked. Charging eight quid for this burger when what I'm getting is something entirely different is shameful. Won't be going here again.

Very nice food!! Friendly service just a shame they don't stick to opening times checked out the opening times on the door yesterday wasted my time walking 45mins today so my 5 star rating from yesterday was undeserved. Real shame

After sending wrong order then waited 2,5 hours to get delivery at 11pm as closing and to be told " you could of just scraned the 1st order that came" is a complete joke wen phoned for last time delivery wasn't here and said just do refund and collect this wrong order was given this b####hit answer as no refund will be given. Delivery arrived after last call and was cold Use it again? Not a chance . One star is the lowest but deserves zero.... Mistakes happen I get that but the service and attitude to resolve it is what makes a company and this place is a joke

Absolutely shocking service given to me tonight! Their customs are unacceptable, we ordered our food at 8:30 pm to it not even being delivered. They didn’t even give us updates on the delivery status, nor even answer our phone calls to ask about our order… this is just very unacceptable and I recommend not to order from here unless you want your food to not even arrive!!!

Was firstly told the owner is off with covid and then told he never comes into the shop anyway. James then said if you just accepted a new order it would have been done by now he had a Really agressive couldn't care less attitude. And just told me to talk to Uber. Even though Uber won't handle the case as Gadgie deliver their own food. If the owner never comes in I fail to see how that's a good thing for the company. It was the general attitude of not caring about the quality of the customer experience that really has put me off. Late food, cold food and bad attitude from the staff.

Fantastic tasting food, varied menu, served quickly, gadgie burger is lush. Definitely recommend and staff real friendly.

I used to be a regular walk in customer here and thought I'd try their delivery option. Arrived 30 minutes late and barely warm. Burger soggy and full of grease and the fries where inedible due to being stuck to the cardboard carton the arrived in. The mozerella sticks turned up as just a tube of the outer crisp. When this was raised with the shop they have the laughable claime that the one must have popped in transit. We've had then much hotter from McDonald and not once have they ever popped in transit. When raising the cardboard sticking to the fries and my suggestion of placing a piece of greaseproof paper to the top to prevent this they stated thes and would happen. Clearly they are none the wiser of how grease proof paper works. Will not be returning any time soon. if at all.

Ordered a chicken burger. Look like it had been double fried, chicken was as tough as old leather boots. Also ordered a pizza burger but no pizza sauce in. Staff in shop wasn't wearing face mask or hair nets in kitchen, they offered us 15% of next order. The manager from home offered us £10 from next order. I wouldn't eat this again even if they paid us. Gone down drastically down hill since last used.

Mine and hubbies first time ordering, food was around 20 minutes late, but I didn't mind especially as it's the weekend and take aways can generally be busier. Food was still warm, I very much enjoyed the pizza fries and was surprised by how much was given. Yet the burgers were not plesant, size portions were good but the patties tasted strangely like a mince dinner, without draining the fat. The fat, grease unfortantely lingered for a while and it was a little diffcult to get rid of, sadly not a place I would re-visit.

Great food and great value and superb service

Ordered food at 19:15 and was quoted 20:15 as an estimated delivery time. At 20:36 the restaurant updated the estimated delivery time to 20:30. At 21:00 I rang the restaurant to be told "its going out with the next driver, sorry we've been busy". My food finally arrived at about 21:45, a full hour and a half later than I was quoted. Then to add insult to injury one of the items had been made incorrectly as they'd ignored a note I'd left to remove one of the ingredients making it immediately inedible.

My friend placed an order at 7.15pm which was supposed to arrive at 8.15pm, after calling at 9pm were told it would be another 20 minutes due to them being busy and eventually arrived at 9.40pm and the order is wrong. Absolutely ridiculous customer service, no notice or communication of the extended wait times and to then get the order wrong is unacceptable, will not be ordering again

Ordered on uber eats was told 15 to 30 min. Only at end of our street. Order time extended by 1 hour and still an hour after that and still waiting absolute disgrace. Sorry can even rate the food as still haven't got any what a joke avoid at all costs unless you fancy you food turning up tomorrow some time!!! Would give zero if it would let me

Ordered at 17:08 they straight away changed dilivery time to between 18:10 and 18:30. It is now 20:00 and still no food rang restaurant twice and both time they have said it will be half an hour absolute joke if u could give no stars I would definitely will not be ordering from here again nearly 3 hours to make some food 🤔

Ordered on Uber Eats at 6pm for Delivery at 8pm. Called up to confirm order and said it was fine. At 8pm app said delivery on its way. Rang up 830pm to be told was just being cooked. Rang up again later still not here. Then looked at reviews and wished I'd not bothered. Food came 930ish. Felt sorry for driver, ordered the mixed fries for £5.00 picture shown. Burgers freezing chips no way worth the money. Rang up to speak to the 'manager' to complain. Got no-where like everyone else. Should have been fully refunded. So my advice is read everyone's reviews before ordering. Absolute joke and an embarrassment of a business owner.

Just want you need to pull you round. Fast friendly service and best burgers in town 😍 We will keep returning.

We ordered take away 2 hot dogs and chips, I rang them to place the order the guy said the card machine wasn't working and advised us to ring the other gadgie burger which we did their card machine was working so ordered over the phone, we waited more than half hour for delivery which was disappointing but the food more than made up for it, it was delicious would definitely use again and would recommend to family and friends X

Waited 2 hours for our takeaway delivery before calling to be told it was 5 minutes away. 3 hours later and they’re not answering the phones. Given up hope and off to bed! Utterly disgraceful.

It was nice, our office order from here every few months as a treat.

I would like to repeat what most have stated on this, the burgers and food here is excellent. Competing easily with the other greasy American-style burger places around the city. The only problem with this place, is that whether you ring or you step into the shop to order, the staff are helpful and friendly but unfortunately do not have excellent customer service and the place feels it's run by a few mates together. This isn't so obvious calling, the staff are always very friendly on the phone, but in the shop it felt a slight tip towards unprofessional 'having a laugh at work'. Everyone is entitled to have fun, but when you have customers in your shop, perhaps tone it down a touch. Again, I want to reiterate, the place's food is brill. I don't agree with the review that tells people not to order here because of their service. They have better service than many takeaways in Hull, and much much better food. They certainly don't deserve a 1 star and their food certainly is not 'sub-par' and never comes cold.

We really enjoyed our burgers, I got the meet burger with sweet potato chips. The burgers we had delivered to our house. They were just beautiful, very filling and very tasty. My daughter got the hot dog she really enjoyed her meal. Delivery was very quick. Thank you

Its Saturday night, and with my son out at work and I couldn’t be bothered to cook, I thought that I would treat myself to a decent takeaway. I don’t really like food to be delivered as you do not know what happens to it when it leaves the shop kitchen, and so I visited the shop myself.On entering you feel quite welcome, and the shop gives the impression of being in a beach hut somewhere exotic. I was greeted by a very friendly server who asked how I was, and gave me time to look at the board. There are some interesting combinations available, but I plumped for the “Proper Gadgie Burger” and a side order of mozzarella sticks. There is some seating to the side of the counter, and so I waited for my order to be ready. My order took eight minutes, and after a friendly “thankyou” and “goodbye” from the server, I made my way home to enjoy this gourmet burger.The burger is very well wrapped, and so when I opened the burger package the food was piping hot. The burger is wrapped in greaseproof paper and then silver foil is wrapped over it. I could tell that I was in for a treat as the Proper Gadgie Burger really had some weight to it. This particular burger has two really thick, top quality steak burgers, that did not envelope you in grease when opening the wrappings like the local Dope Burger shop. The burgers were cooked to perfection, very tender and very juicy. Also in the burger was maple cured bacon, fresh lettuce and onion, as well as the “Special Gadgie Sauce”. All this was served in a very nice premium brioche bun. The mozzarella sticks were pretty standard fayre.After eating the food I felt full and happy, unlike burgers from large fast food chains. The total price of my meal was £9.00, and to be honest, I thought that this represented excellent value for what I would describe as a premium product. I will certainly be purchasing my food from here again.

dissapointed! Large group of lads, not buying, just showing each other their phones and being Loud. Staff ignored this. Cig breaks more important than food. Very very slow service with hygiene ignored. Its like someone had a good idea for food concept then didn't follow up with training, stock control- (they had run out of basic staples)basic standards and delivery. Was there over 40 minutes and I was the only customer. Food was cold by the time I got home five minutes away,so a wasted journey. Don't know about expansion but you need to get a manager who has experience with catering to sort out your issues, and please get some decent lighting, the menu is unreadable.Absolute shambles, shame, because it could be fab.

Came here after trying Dope Burger out and wanting to see if it could compete....answer was NO!! We were greeted by a chap who was snappy, did not smile at all and was basically rude. Then another fellow in a tracksuit walked in and let himself behind the counter...followed by another man, at this point I was beginning to get worried about the food I had just ordered. I stood so I could watch them make our food...I wish I hadn’t to be honest. Firstly one of the men picked our bread buns up with his bare (unwashed) hands and put them in the heating thing, then he left the other man to add the salad, to my horror that guy who we’d just watched smoke a cigarette outside then without washing his hands or putting on gloves picked the salad out and put it on to the buns....disgusting!! I dread to think where his hands had been... Our food came, we reluctantly ate it as we were very hungry and had paid for it, it was average at best! We were not expecting fine dining, hence we’d eaten at Dope Burger a few days prior, and we’d found that place to me fine. But here it was gritty, unprofessional and left a bad taste (in all senses!) Would definitely never eat here again!

ok, gadgie burger anlaby road hull, told that there is no one available to deliver, so i thought ok ill come and pick the order up only to be told "we have run out of bread buns".....what !!! what kind of company is this ?, what a complete joke ,you should be ashamed of yourselves,what sort sort of company is this , please,please,please avoid,if i could have given it no stars i would.

Made an order to pick up Wednesday last week (Bev road branch, spoke to a male member of staff) ordered 2 Gadgie burgers, one with salad and one without and 1 lot of fries. Picked up and wanted to pay by debit card. My order was between £11 & £12 yet I was told by a female member of staff it was a 50p charge to pay with a card... Now correct me if I'm wrong but this usually applies if your spending under £5, so where is that 50p going had I have not had cash on me... Profit??.... Now for my order, arrived home to find both Gadgie burgers had salad, maple bacon was full of stringy fat and fries where curly fries not chips and there was 2 lots as well. Wasn't charged for the 2nd so obviously not an issue but they went in the bin as was too much, not to mention we don't like curly fries and was wanting chips!

Good quality burgers at a reasonable price delivered to my home. Would also recommend the mixed fries absolutely delicious. Will be using again.

Came here last week (Beverley Road shop), the lady serving was lovely and very polite but I was instantly put off by the scruffy bleach haired delivery drivers that was SAT o. The food preparation surface! Swinging his legs and kicking the sideboards with his dirty trainers!

we wanted to try gadgie for ages and finally had the chance. we placed an order for 4 by phone and picked it up. we all had different and wow it was all amazing. the burgers are easily the best any of us have pretty much had, anywhere! ranging for a spicy option that i had to a hunter chicken burger. we also had a range of fries between us including curly and some covered with pulled pork. it worked out about £7.50 per person which is pretty amazing value really too. we will all be going back again and again now.

Saturday tea for a family of four, heard good things so decided to order by phone and then collect. Ribs are best we have had anywhere and all the burgers we had were delicious. A definite new favourite for takeaway treat.

We ordered from here a few nights ago and our food deliverd we orderd spare ribs in a sauce they were geogious the meat was cook to perfection and also we had a chicken burger with mayo and lettuce well I couldn't eat it all the chicken was a large fillet cooked in there georgious batter and a rib burger for my partner that had a burger and a de boned beef rib and sauces to die for .I would highly recommend ordering again it's a bit pricey but we'll worth it

Tried here after hearing a lot of good things. Really enjoyed it. Had the standard Gadgie burger and now can't wait to try a few other things on the menu. Thought the value for money was pretty good and I would definitely order from here again.

Popped in here on a hungover bank holiday Monday for a bit of relief by burger. I've been seeing their Facebook ads and the pics look tempting so I thought, "Let's do this!". Hopped in the car, found the place and graced them with my presence.

Gadgie Burger by far has the worst service I have ever received anywhere- not just any take away but any shop or restaurant I've ever been to!

Heard the raves about this place, went for lunchtime takeaway with family. The food was tasteless and cold, pulled chicken tasted like tuna, burger tasted like stewed mince then made into a pattie! Wont be wasting money again as burgers are pricey for takeaway.

They are amazing ! Succulent.full of flavour. Quality Ingredients and reasonably priced. Fast food ?- yes, but also qulaity food. Lovely staff.
