G J's Finest in Leeds

First class fish & chips here. The best in the whole area in our opinion. The batter is crisp and all the food is freshly cooked to order really good. I usually phone my order through and give a collection time, then it’s all just cooked and ready for you. Great service and great food.

best chips great portions and fish and batter amazing been using for years. just wish there was delivery in the area as too far to walk with them home but great for treat walking back from park or when friend is driving you in car and fancy nice lunch or dinner with film

I often use this fish shop for both home and work purposes. I tend to ring first and order with an estimated collection time. The staff/owner couldn't be more accommodating. Fabulous customer service, nothing is too much trouble. The food is fresh and well cooked.

Llamado para mi té. El personal era amable, pero tenía que esperar a que se cocinara el pescado. ¿Cómo funcionan las lecturas? Las patatas fritas eran horribles, todo se fue en la papelera.

Invocado para dos comidas. Súper simpático, amable, platicador y pescado siempre frito a pedido. Las patatas fritas estaban calientes y muy sabrosas, el pescado era excelente, e incluso comimos hasta el último trozo. G J sigue siendo el mejor en el área!

Checked their reviews before, and then proved myself. Great fish, friendly service. Not the cheapest, but we are talking quality here.

We have used this fish and chip shop for 25 years. Unfortunately the standard of the fish and chips is not as good as Granville, the previous owner. The new owner cooks the fish in fat that is too hot.......and this overcooks the batter and darkens it, and gives a slight burnt taste. The cooking temperature need to be reduced. The staff and owner are friendly.....but this is not enough by itself to make me a regular customer. I prefer the fish and chip shop on Aberford road.

The battered fish was cooked perfectly and the chips were well cooked. This was the cheapest and best meal we had whilst staying in Leeds.

GJ's Fish and chips. A small fish and chip shop, located on an housing estate. We visited for the first time today. We ordered fish and chips twice, (with large curry sauce and large peas) - and had change from a tenner! The fish was lovely and thick, with soft flaky flesh, with a lovely thin yet crispy batter. The chips were - I am certain - the very best chips I have EVER tasted from a chippy, (and I've been to many - including most of the 'famous' names). The chips were hot, soft and fluffy inside and each one had the most beautifully crisp bite - - they really are exceptionally good. Today may have been my first visit - - but it most certainly won't be the last!!

Best fish and chips in Leeds nice crispy batter chips are very good always fresh, highly recommend. These fish and chips taste nicer than Galton Blackistans fish and chips at his fish restaurant in cromer.

New owners have come in and pleased to say standards are just as high. Crucially prices are still competitive especially for childrens meals which are excellent value.

Since the new guy took over, food quality is the best in the area, always friendly and welcoming and quick service 😊

Popped in last night for fish & chips times two. Shame the fryer hadn't planned ahead because the waiting time was my only real criticism. Even my sometimes fussy girlfriend was impressed- and rightly so, as they were up there amongst the nicest fish & chips I've had in a while. At £9 for two portions, price is as you might expect & quality doesn't disappoint. Shame about the wait!
