Our first time at Furna Tried 3 course set lunch Had roll and chips in beef fat too All very delicious! Really good way to try a new restaurant Great service Chef de patron served dishes too. Always good when chef himself is in and cooking the dishes. We certainly shall return and try a la carte next time

This was visit number 7 and it was wonderful with a couple of dishes being completely off the scale . One of my guests dines regularly at top , crazy expensive restaurants- he LOVED it .Already planning our next visit. The Chef and his team were on fire every dish was close to being a work of art but still real tasty food not some foamy self indulgent nonsense . The service throughout was just fantastic, many dishes being introduced to us by Dave Mothersill and others by members of his amazing team. Every dish was outstanding , these guys are incredible,it was so wonderful that our foodie visitors want to move to Brighton! We left nicely replete , not stuffed and how fantastic to leave feeling like you have had a wonderful , special experience - sadly all too often thats not the case . Not cheap but great value - absolutely . Probably the best value restaurant in Brighton at the moment.

This is the star in Brightons gastronomic crown. There simply isn’t a better restaurant in Brighton. The menu is beautifully planned and executed. The venue is stunning with a modern yet charming design and layout, but above all the service is outstanding. The skill and knowledge among the entire team is brilliant, their empathy to their guests and happiness to work together shines out. We celebrated my brother’s birthday on Thursday at Furna and enjoyed every minute. We literally can’t wait to go back. Keep it up Furna we are so lucky to have you in our city.

The best food in Brighton, one of the best meals I've eaten. Exceeding imaginative and creative, very tasty food created to the highest standard. Every item on the menu was faultless. Even made me enjoy rhubarb, considering I've never enjoyed it before. So worth a visit, I'll be looking forward to going back.. easily Michelin star quality and beats other one star restaurants I've been to

Every time we have dined here it has been amazing from start to finish. The food is amazing and the team are wonderful.

I went to Furna for lunch with two friends on 12th April 2024 as we were all 60 years of age this year. What an incredible and amazing lunch it was! Also had an amazing lunch on 3 October 2024 for our wedding anniversary and just celebrated my brothers birthday with a lunch on 1st March 2025. From the initial greeting by the maitre d, the fabulous cocktails made by the wonderful drinks mixologist, the insights on our wine pairing from the sommelier and the food and the conversations with the chefs, including Dave Mothersill - all were truly superb. We had the tasting menu with paired wines - beautifully presented and a very leisurely pace as we worked our way through each dish. They even made us a surprise birthday macaroon each to finish off what was one of the best lunches we have ever had. Highly recommend Furna the people, the food and the place are just first class!

We had the set lunch menu with a bottle of wine and two sides of “chips”. The service was excellent- with staff very attentive but not in the way. The food was excellent - well presented , tasty and a little quirky. They make it an experience rather than just a lunch. The chief comes to the table and explains the food as does the pastry chief when you are served desert. It’s not cheap and the side dishes seemed particularly expensive- but the chips were not chips as I hope the photos show. We very much enjoyed. With a bottle of house red it came to £60 per person. I’ve paid more for less.

What an amazing experience. The food was impeccable both in taste and presentation and the wine pairings were very thoughtfully matched. The staff were all brilliant, a great atmosphere and an excellent playlist all complemented each other. Overall a great lunch and one that we will definitely be repeating! Wonderful special occasion dinner. Beautifully served with fantastic attention to detail. The restaurant is beautiful but the lack of soft furnishings makes it unnecessarily noisy. Difficult for anyone with hearing impairment & such a shame as so easily avoided.

We had the tasting menu. The food was amazing and the balance of flavours excellent. Service was friendly and professional. My husband enjoyed the wine pairings and I had the sparkling tea mocktail which was excellent. We will definitely be returning.

Had an impromptu meal here and it was simply sensational we were very lucky as we had not booked however we received a very warm welcome and after we decided to go for tasting menu and matching wine flight everything was taken care of I highly recommended this restaurant for their laid back vibe you really do feel like you are in safe hands they are very professional and have talent to match in all areas from the time you arrive to the time you leave it’s not cheap but it is very good value they are at the top of their game I look forward to bringing so friends here

My Wife and I chose to take advantage of Furnas 25 percent offer And on being warmly welcomed by chef / proprietor Dave exchanging pleasantries we ordered food The Parker House roll and Superb Rocher of Cultured Butter never fails to impress Starters of Cep Agnolotti)and IPA (Which was the dish of the day!)and Squid Monkfish &Lardo also impressed Mains of Tamworth Pork Schnitzel anchovy and radicchio also Fallow Deer beetroot and Yorkshire Rhubarb was accompanied by our chosen side dishes featuring Winter Tomatoes beetroot and horseradish which was served warm ( which personally I found clashed with the hot dishes but the Leek Bagna Couda was lovely Desserts of Warm Brown Butter Madeleine s and a Warm Chocolate Tart sorbet and mint was Scrumptious ! Always enjoy our visits to Furna and Thoroughly Recommend you do the same ?

We had the tasting menus (two normal and two vegetarian), both were exceptionally tasty, beautifully presented etc. I like that the chefs come out to explain courses to us. That was the second time there and it’s very very good.

Friday nights in Brighton can be a bit hit and miss. Grumpy taxi drivers, turning up late, and if you’re lucky, without a streaming cold. Most of us take the bus or walk. This cold night we had settled on Furna, not that you can just turn up; booking is required, and in our case, we booked this before Christmas. The welcome at Furna is professional: coats, table, and drink requests. The second tricky element to negotiate is your fellow guests. Furna seems to manage the overly coked or the endless rush to go outside for a fag carefully. The wine list is extensive, and you can try a small glass of the more esoteric bottles on the list. The tasting menu arrives promptly, the first three in a batch. Then a steady beat of excellence. Seasonal and with elements of a forager and some tongue-in-cheek brand references. Overall, a great meal.

A wonderful dinner in the private dining room - superb food, ambience and extra special service. A really memorable evening.

First time @ Furna having heard great things & sat the kitchen bar watching chef & calm team composing beautiful plates without seeming to break a sweat. Chef Dave is welcoming & completely without pretension, which makes his finely executed dishes even tastier. At the last moment they pulled out a birthday surprise- not expected but delightful. An astonishing restaurant. My second time him in recent weeks and Dave's team knocked it out of the park as usual. The intricacy, the love, care and passion of the team are palpable. From the moment you arrive, to the moment you leave, it's a delight.

We were amazingly well looked after for our company Christmas dinner - the food was delicious and the wine selection (we had the wine pairing) was equally so. Attentive and knowledgable staff, the private dining area is perfect for a small gathering. Dietary requirements were also well catered for.

Special festive lunch for 6 of us. Menu, presentation, service & ambience were all terrific. Many highlights but bread, madeleines & oysters deserve kudos. Thank you for a lovely afternoon Dave & team.

Best Restaurant in Brighton and beats many top London restaurants too! This is our favourite restaurant in Brighton, the food is amazing, having moved to Brighton from London we can honestly say this is the best restaurant we have been to! It’s creative and worthy of awards and the staff are so welcoming including Dave the owner and head chef, who always makes time to come and talk to you. He is clearly very passionate about his food, the care, quality, and full staff hospitality goes way beyond many 5 star hotels and restaurants around the world that we have had the pleasure and privilege dining with. The food here never disappoints and we are real foodies! All of the chefs and staff are so lovely and always makes us both feel welcome. If you are thinking of going even if it’s only for a special occasion it’s worth saving up for as you won’t be disappointed. We always look forward to returning and feel blessed it’s local to where we live now instead of going into central London as it’s just 15 mins from us but we would travel to eat there as it’s more than worth it. Thank you to all the staff there the passion is clear it shines through. Also a shout out to Jess the pastry chef as she is amazing her dishes are honestly out of this world so inventive and light as so often meals are ruined by rich heavy deserts but not with Jess they are light, melt in your mouth masterpieces! The bread Jess makes its worth the visit on its own and a staple to every visit but we never get bored of it!!!! Please don’t change a thing and we can’t wait until our next visit which is very soon. A brilliant place for a special meal, and a great team!

Such a wonderful meal and cocktails and wine with my dear friend- we ate and talked and drank for 3 hours - just a perfect Friday lunch/afternoon

Absolutely class, runs like clockwork. FOH are just as much professionals as the chefs are, attentive without being intrusive and incredibly polite. The food is amazing, every detail of the dishes and the service feels intentional and laboured over. Sat at the pass and watching the chefs, you could just see how calm, precise and focused they were, while still having time for a chat. Expensive but worth every penny, these guys know what they’re doing.

What can I say, this place is absolute perfection. As a semi-regular frequenter of Michelin-starred restaurants, I can say with sincerity that FURNA easily fits into a 2-star category (and even 3). In my last visit, the creativity of turning squid into noodles and combining it with this genius broth, pork belly, and a perfectly grilled shitake mushroom - this dish is something out-of-this-world stellar, and I cannot for the life of me fathom how blessed/fortunate/privileged I am to have tasted this. FURNA is so damn amazing that during the dinner, I made another reservation. Can't wait to come back in February! (And I'll probably make another reservation then as well!) ... and KFC stands for "Kickass FURNA Chicken"!!!

Furna is our go to special restaurant and we are never disappointed. Each meal we have enjoyed has been an experience of flavours and visual delights. Their warmth and attention to detail add to the fun and professionalism.

Easily the best restaurant in Brighton in my opinion. Really interesting food, great wine pairings. The menu was completely changed from when we went a few months ago but was just as fantastic as it had been before. Cant wait to go back.

Absolutely fantastic tasting menu; I couldn't fault a single dish on there. Staff were attentive without being over bearing, extremely knowledgeable and talented individuals working here. We've been to many good restaurants and michelins over the years but this has to be one of the absolute best experiences we've had. The cocktails were also excellent. Just go visit immediately before it leapfrogs ahead in the accolades and becomes impossible to book!

From quality to presentation, from finesse to adventurousness. We thoroughly enjoyed our 8 course tasting menu at Furna. The service is outstanding, warm and personal and the chef‘s passion, especially the lovely desert chef’s, that has gone into each and every dish is striking. It’s the second time my husband and I have been to Furna and we‘ll definitely be back soon.

Another fantastic meal at FURNA last night. We went for the game tasting menu and every course was delicious, perfectly balanced and beautifully presented. Everything was amazing but standout dishes for us were the deer agnolotti, the duck pie and the dessert ( with artichoke ice cream?) amazing and of course the famous bread and cultured butter. Everytime we go, we feel it can’t get any better and it does! Thank you FURNA staff for an incredible evening. Can’t wait until we visit again.

Every time we come I’m reminded of just how good the food is here & as my sister in law said this is worthy of a last meal “what would you have?!” 😂 The monkfish was perfection and the details in all the courses are incredible, just the bread (a buttery salty brioche) would keep me coming back.

I like how this restaurant has both a la carte & degustation. We went for carte… food was delicious. Stand out was the bread & the deer. The open kitchen was well run & calm, all the staff were lovely. Saw lots of the degustation food come out as was sat near the open kitchen… it looked well balanced & excellently presented. It’s a small restaurant so quite intimate, the chef did come out to speak with some people who were having degustation menu. If I have one criticism the dessert was tiny… I understand that treacle tart a rich desert but this one was actually a lighter version & was basically two bites… usually we shared a dessert but I had ordered the blue cheese, it’s a good job as sweet was a slither.

Booked Furna on personal recommendation for my husband’s significant birthday. We were unable to go as planned, but were offered alternative dates by Lucy that was extremely helpful. Our seats at the chef’s table (as my husband is a bit of a foody) was an excellent option, we were talked through all the dishes on our tasting menu, with the wine option it made our visit extremely memorable, Jess and Dave, with the rest of the team went the extra mile, the food was outstanding, every morsel delicious, and the presentation a delight. We left the restaurant buoyant, and happy, my husband is very pleased, thank you Furna !!

Two amazing meals at the end of August which showcased the chefs utter dedication to using and cooking with the best of local ingredients, We were blown away with the Lobster Celebration evening which demonstrated just how decadent the shellfish can be

Without a doubt the best restaurant in Brighton. The food was exceptional and I look forward to visiting again to try more of it. (Honourable mentions for the potatoes and beef tartare). You can tell a lot of love and consideration has been put into kitting out the place. A nice luxe setting and tasteful decor sets the mood. We found the service slightly lacking, not quite up to level with the food. I will give the benefit of the doubt as they were (understandably and deservedly) very busy. They have a fantastic wine menu with really special and unusual offerings (extra points for Coravin). It would be great if the sommelier had a bit more time to spend with you going over the list and explaining the wine. Having said this they were not mean with samples, just a lack of direction and explanation. All in all, a really great experience and I’m keen to go back, albeit on a quieter night. It’s rare I’ve seen a menu where I’d like to try every single dish. For that reason, the small plate / sharing type format was perfect. Nice touch to have the chefs hand deliver their own creations to the table.

Purchased online gift cards on here to go towards an engagement dinner as a friend recommended and I was called by a rude lady a few days later accusing me of fraud because the voucher was £175 for £50 I paid via Apple Pay and didn’t really pay much attention and thought it was a Groupon type deal as I’ve never heard of this restaurant before, I now understand the website had issues however that’s not my fault. Point is you can’t blame a client for your amateur hour errors and the rudeness on the phone was unwarranted and over the top. - The response to the complaint is absolute nonsense! The fact is i was met with a rude abrupt phone-call with no explanation other than fraud? Had someone of explained the situation and taken accountability for your website error instead of blaming your customers i would have been understanding and not wrote this review. Also I would cry too if i had to call hundreds of customers and lie to them in an awful attempt of damage control, good job you do 5⭐️ grub because your resolutions department is shocking

INCREDIBLE food and service. Highly highly recommend the clams, lobster rice, beef fat chips and madeleines. It’s not like anything I’ve had before. Walked in on a Friday night and was able to get seated outside. The staff all seemed so dedicated to their craft also when they introduced each dish.
