Furlongs Ale House in Swale

A great choice of real ales and some very tasty ciders also a good selection of local wines, and the staff are very friendly as is the clientele

Furlongs excel at serving quality cask ale the way it should be enjoyed, all the while displaying exemplary, friendly (almost familiar) service. They had a couple of decent kegs on tap concurrently and rotate in new kegs and casks very regularly, but their gin shelf was worthy of equal attention: it was divine! All attempts are apparently made to ensure local beers are sourced (save for Thornbridge and some European lagers) which gains Furlongs much kudos. Their regulars seem to absolutely love the place and I did too; I'll certainly be back. Footnote: Jamie the barman absolutely loves it if you rearrange the beer mats into disordered chaos. Indulge him!

A drink only establishment, where a good range of ales is served, and the only sounds are drinking and conversation. Wine and spirits also served. Prices good too!

Many micropubs seem to be full of paraphernalia, objets d'art, knick-knacks (or just clutter) Furlongs has eschewed this trend. It is tidy, clean, modern and bright - the old rooflight is a great feature which gives it that airy feel. The inside area has raised platforms on either side cleverly designed so that customers with their backs to the walls are the same height as those in the middle. Not well explained but you'll understand if you've been there. The bar is on the left at the back, always a great range of cask beers, a key-keg and a couple of kegs including at least one lager (Bavo so not your big brand stuff). Plus local ciders, a wide gin range and wine too. Always served by good friendly people. It can have a real buzz when it's busy and an oasis of calm when it's not. There is a long narrow garden almost entirely under canopy with a designated smokers' area right at the end. It's a great unpretentious real ale haven in a town of pretty good pubs. Don't miss this one out.

Lovely micropub. Always has a great range of local brews and a few ciders and bottled gluten free real ales too. Also has an excellent local gins selection. Uses Fevertree tonic waters and serves Fentimans grown up soft drinks too! Excellent home smoked nuts! Highly recommend them.

Great little independent craft beer pub, nice large garden to the rear (much bigger than it looks). Great knowledgeable service too, great range of beers on draft and also good wine selection.

Serves beautifully kept local ales. A regular stop-off point for us when visiting Faversham.

Ale,wine,cider what more do you want....ahhh you looking for a place where there are no sports tvs, loud music or rowdy customers. Just gold conversations and a nice garden for when the sun is out. The owners are always there are chatting with people. Would highly recommend it. Need to go back

Never have I experienced such a poor and unfriendly welcome in any micropub before! Every establishment is working differently currently which is absolutely fine but as a business at least explain your process and assist your customers to help you.....chains across doorways is surely a bit extreme on a Wednesday evening! On ordering our real ale we asked if they did any hot drinks for our non drinker....a flat no was advised, ok fair enough but then on showing Camra membership we were also advised "don't do that anymore". We'd been here before pre-pandemic but now I can only assume this is a local micropub for regulars only.... how short sighted! You'd think a business would be happy to see the unexpected business that 2 quiet couples can bring on an autumn Wednesday evening. We voted with our feet and left before our order was poured and won't bother heading back again! Shame!

There are lots and lots of pubs in Faversham but Furlongs, being a micropub, has to be one of the best for different and quality beers. Unfortunately, the chain at the door and the demand for facemasks (all the other pubs don't ask anymore) makes it a doubtful revisit. Shame really. It just seemed uninviting and the atmosphere was lacking.

Seldom do i do a review without finding fault in something but today is the absolute exception. This micropub is exceptional in every way. Friendly and welcoming. Lovely outside area. Spotlessly clean and well organised. Nice to see basic Covid precautions still being followed as well. Superb range of ales, all really well kept and excellent value. Well worth a visit. Recommended!!

Furlongs is a great micropub that spreads out to a micro garden in Nice weather. Extremely popular amongst left of centre Faversham people. The beer is normally reliable. I had a nice pint called Marble last night. They have quick rotation of beer so it's normally fresh and well maintained. The landlord is a nice welcoming person.

This is the closest thing you get to the show Cheers, where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came. If you drink real ale, this is the place to go. Always a well thought out and balanced selection. You can tell the owners really know and care about the beer and the people drinking it. Always in top condition. 5 stars all around. Tip: They now have a great garden area and have always been very pooch friendly!

Not many places get a 5, this is an exception. No cooked food but an excellent selection of beers, cider and gin. Inspired seating arrangement for such a small place. And if you want some fresh air, the garden is just as nice. Plus its a myth buster, you don't have to charge £5 pint to make a living, the others are just greedy.

Beer has been excellent for many years and now has a garden or air conditioning in the bar.

A real down to earth micro pub, but it's friendly and welcoming and the beer was really good. It's not much more than a front room, but that is the essence of this type of pub. Definitely worth a visit if fed up with shepherd Neame.
