Keep meaning to leave a review for this FABULOUS Cafe! Only remembered now when looking at the menu to visit tomorrow for the 3rd time in a month :). The food is sensational, so fresh and delicious..the service efficient, warm and friendly. Great atmosphere and a fantastic local business.

My first visit here . Absolutely best cappuccino I’ve had for a long time . And lovely fresh scrambled eggs / sautéed mushrooms on toast . Very clean cafe and great staff service . Will return 👍

We are locals who go to funky monkey often. The food is always gorgeous and the staff are always attentive and kind. Food is cooked fresh so a bit of a wait but it is so worth it and you can taste that everything has been made with love and attention to detail. Could not recommend highly enough!

We came as a group of four, plus a buggy, and it was very baby friendly. My Godzilla breakfast was absolutely huge but very tasty, and the breakfast sandwiches and vegan breakfast looked great too. Would recommend

it took 1 hour for my tuna baguette to arrive and when it eventually did arrive there was 2 long strings of hair in my food, not to even mention the latte i ordered was ice cold. when i confronted a staff member i got completely blanked but they made sure to take my payment before i left :(

We stopped in for a late breakfast. All staff were pleasant and friendly. the place seemed packed but we were able to get a table. We ordered the same food. Unfortunately the waitress misheard our order on fillings but we weren't overcharged, these things happen, not the end of the world. It wouldnt stop us coming back. They have some interesting takes on drinks and the food tastes great.

Great food, great atmosphere, friendly staff. The coffee was nice and smooth, not too bitter. My only complaint was the mushroom were very dark in colour (black) I will definitely return and recommend.

We have been here regular and always get a first class reception - even our dog gets well greeted ! The food is very varied and delicious with the menu changing with the seasons - sometimes disappointingly so as you get to enjoy an item and then they change the menu - but gives a chance then to try new things. 👍 Food is very well presented and tasty - they don’t seem to skimp on quality. Always good and will be back regular I am certain.

Worst experience ever. Noise is horrendous inside or outside and if you stay a bit longer, they will throw you out. Avoid this place.

Called in for a quick coffee and cake and was hugely impressed. The name says everything, funky it is. Fabulously warm and friendly staff, lovely staff, great coffee and delicious muffin. What else can I say ?

My family and I were staying in the area and visited the Funky Monkey for breakfast last week. The 6 of us turned up, were met by a very bubbly girl at the desk and seated easily. We were very impressed by the choice of breakfasts on the menu and not disappointed when they all arrived - everything we had ordered present and correct! (Sounds basic but rarely happens!) It was all hot and very tasty and set us up well for the day ahead. The service was very good. Efficient and friendly. We would definitely recommend this place and will visit again when we are in the area.

Probably the best cafe in Stockport. The food is fantastic and well priced, the staff are friendly and the place looks amazing after the refurb. I could happily come here every weekend with my kids. Highly recommend.

Popped in for lunch - great menu of very tasty sandwiches, toasties and paninis. How bowls & salads. Fresh yummy cakes. Friendly service - relaxed seating. Very high quality home made sandwiches Lots of vegan choices

Visited here this morning with our little granddaughter. Staff could not have been nicer and were very helpful and professional. Clearly a good working atmosphere has been fostered here. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and piping hot. Would definitely recommend to anyone and will return soon.

Delicious and very affordable food. However the best part was the fantastic abs very friendly service. They never stopped and were still able to check on us and make us feel very welcome. I will definitely go back here.

Flat white was beautiful and the club sandwich was just superb. Good social distancing measures in place and really friendly staff. Just a brilliant place well worth a visit. I will be back.

Me and my girlfriend have attended numerous times and she first introduced me to Funky Monkeys. The food selection is incredible, the food itself is even better and the staff are great. Also the extension is beautiful; please dont go!

My friend and I used to meet up regularly at The Funky Monkey but then it became like a crèche with pushchairs and trolleys blocking the way, nowhere to sit and loads of tots running about. It became so crowded and noisy we stopped going....

This is my second review of Funky Monkey and it is another 5 star one. Like many people in Davenport, I have been waiting to see what the new extension is like. It has finally been unveiled and they have done a fantastic job. The walls and floor are hard wood and there is brilliant artwork. And there are now a number of new tables and chairs, as well as several dark green chesterfield sofas, a couple of comfy dark green leather chairs and a padded black leather rocker.Last night four of us enjoyed Funky Monkey's usually tasty pizzas, swilled down with glasses of red and white wine. And we chilled to gentle, well performed, music. There is only one negative, which is that Funky Monkey only serves drinks until c. 9.00 pm on a Saturday, so we couldn't sit enjoying the atmosphere for longer.

Funky Monkey is a lovely neighbourhood cafe with great coffee, an impressive range of cakes and a good lunch / snack menu. The Chicken Club sandwich is particularly impressive

Brilliant cafe dog friendly we go at least once a fortnight they also open at night and have acts on ie open mic, comedy etc they also provide colouring board games to keep the children entertained while waiting for food

We love to visit for vegan brunch/breakfasts, unfortunately they're so good that we never try anything else! There is a separate vegan menu and usually some vegan specials. The coffees are fantastic.

I have been going to funky monkey for many years. I go with my daughter or meet friends there for a quick bite to eat or a tea and cake. They sell gluten free cakes which are all tasty. Since the place has been done up it is a lovely calming environment. My favourite is their jacket potato which Heather the owner mixes cheese and beans together for me. Maybe a weird combination for someone else but works for me yum...Heather has a big bubbly personality always smiling and a very friendly young lady. It is a child friendly place.

Have visited the funky monkey many times and have never been disappointed. Great coffee, a fantastic vegetarian and vegan selection and irresistible cakes and bakes. It’s worth a visit in the evening too. A good selection of gins and a friendly atmosphere.

Vegan review: Working in the area so popped in here after finding it on happy cow! Lovely cafe. There’s a vegan menu as well as a few vegan cakes!

This place is small and perfectly formed. Excellent coffee, vegan and non-vegan food that is cooked fresh and tasty. The staff are friendly and helpful. A real find if you are in the area. Enjoy!

Friendly and charming, with a good selection of vegan food and board games 🤓 I had the vegan breakfast, tasty and filling 😋 Highly recommended will definitely return!

Excellent place to relax with family and/or friends. You could go there with your partner too, but I would not class this place as romantic, although it is absolutely lovely.

We were on the way to pick up some skiing gear from a local Go Outdoors when we dicided to grab a bite to eat. We went to this place and we were rewarded. There is wide variety of cake and drinks (The muffins are my favorite) and board games to entertain families. Wil return!

This is a great cafe to go to if you want a nice and unique stop. As well as having great food and a variety of drinks, there are also many board games and books to enjoy. Furthermore, this cafe ha extremely good decorations( lots of monkeys)

Decided that a brisk walk, not too far, to blow the cobwebs away last Sunday ( 13th Jan)

This is such a great independent coffee shop with the kind of friendly atmosphere that a chain shop could never ever compete with.

First time back in funky monkey since the refit. They’ve kept all the kids favourite features ( five monkeys joined us for lunch!) and made it much brighter and airier. The menu has evolved and there is loads of choices, a lot of it healthy ( but don’t worry the fab cakes are still there) . The staff are fab, still smiling even though it was manic when we popped in, and apologising for the delays ( not bothered, it’s great to see a local business so popular) . The niece and nephew loved their kids packs, which could have been totally healthy had we not caved and allowed them a lolly as one of their choices ) and our toasties were great. I shall be back ( maybe not at half term though!) I think the monkeys may need the gin they have an evening licence for now if it’s that busy every day!!

Yet another visit and it is closed.

I have severe allergies and the staff were fab at helping me find something I could have. There were a lot more options for me than I expected (I have dairy, nut and egg allergies). The service was fab and it's newly refurbished, so would definitely recommend.

Visiting for a coffee , newly refurbished with more space so even when busy not feeling cramped . Friendly staff , good food and reasonable prices . Now open in the evening every weekend ..... with alcohol too !!!

I've been in a million coffee shops for work, recently found this one and I've never felt more comfortable. The staff are lovely, particularly the man who is usually on the front, and the owners have always tried to make conversation with me without being overbearing.

This place has a lovely feel to it, particularly after the recent refurbishment. Delicious fresh food, cakes to die for and really great coffee - perfect way to spend an easy Saturday morning!

After being a regular visitor to funky monkey, I am very disappointed with the way things are being run recently.

I really enjoyed my visit when I went with 2 other friends. The staff were really attentive welcoming, helpful and friendly. The place was clean and tidy. The food was delicious. Will be visiting again soon.

This is my local Coffee shop and I love how busy and vibrant it is. I can get great Vegan food, including the mezze and a club sandwich. I will be back this week

Been coming here for a few years and it’s always been good. They have just had a refurb and it’s now even better. The atmosphere in this little coffee shop is amazing. Kids love the cakes and hit chocolates. Staff are amazing. So nice and pleasant. I live a bit further away but it’s always worth the drive.

This is such a local gem! They serve really nice coffee in a relaxed setting and the cake is lovely. My friend is allergic to dairy and there was a good selection of vegan cake for her to chose from. We were so comfy we stayed til the shutters were closing!

Got to the counter and was sort of greeted, and with nobody else at the counter stood there for 3-4 minuets while the two workers talked amongst themselves. So I left.

Nice bacon butty and latte. Good tasting coffee. The sofa could do with a few more cushions or upgrading. Enjoyed breakfast.

I totally love it at Funky Monkey. I go frequently as the service is lovely and friendly, they have a wide choice of food and drinks and an amazing vegan menu plus a choice of vegan cakes. Nothing is too much trouble. The atmosphere is relaxed, always a fab music selection on in the background. If you haven't been yet, what are you waiting for?!

This is a little gem. The staff are so welcoming and pleasant. Great coffee. We love to take our grandson here for a cake and the sausage butty is delicious.

The lunchtime haunt of many locals. A credit to to the village of Davenport. Only drawbaclk is that it's sometimes possible not to get a seat, as it is rather small.

Local, friendly and not one of the big chains, yet it does soya, almond milk etc, really gorgeous coconut milk lattes, amazing protein shakes, juices and healthy foods, as well as the usual tasty paninis, breakfasts etc everyone loves. Very easy to sink into one of the big sofas for an hour or two.

What a wonderful little coffee shop. Fantastic place for solo trips, friends, families with small children. The food is wonderful and the staff will go above and beyond to ensure your drinks/ food is prepared just the way you have asked. They offer an extensive range of gluten free food as well as high protein healthy options. I would much rather spend my money here, than one of the bigger chains. Wonderful place !! I will be back !!

Having escaped hotel dreariness early I was looking for somewhere to have a coffee and breakfast before my first meeting.

What a find, amidst the chain suppliers that are everywhere now it's great to find an independent that has a lovely coffee.

I fell asleep in here once after a particularly smashing sandwich. I was gently awoken by a waitress who informed me I had deficated in my trousers. After I had stopped crying, she and her Barista friends sponged me off in the more than adequate lavatory and sent me on my way.

I visit the funky monkey regularly and the staff are always polite and pleasant .... it's a cosy place where you can relax ... coffee and food are great ..... staff will always try to oblige .... friendly faces .... serves the best chai latte ever !!!! Great place ... great people ... great food

Called in on chance for a quick coffee what a big suprise. Vast range of products from plan to specialised coffee. The smell of fresh coffee is enough to drag you in off the street but once your in your spoilt for choice.

I visited the Funky Monkey Coffee Company on a Sunday afternoon and granted a few people were in front of us in the Que and a few people were sat down i would be no means say it was rammed. However after waiting 30 minutes after ordering our Take away Bacon and sausage barms which is not a difficult order we decided to ask if our food was coming, they had forgotten the order. i could understand we might have to wait a few more minutes while it was now cooked but to wait a further 25 minutes was completely unacceptable we both work in the food industry and can sympathies when somewhere is busy and expect a wait but this was just something else. when we did eventually get our food the order was wrong but we didn't have the time to tell them to change it and wait another hour. All the staff move at the pace of unobservant sloths.

I have been a few times to Funky Monkey, and today is no exception. On a Rainey day like today, it always feels sunny inside. Louise the waitress was very friendly and always smiling. It's a relaxing place to work and the music has a Mediterranean feel which i love!

I come here pretty often as I live down the road. Every single time I come in Heather (the loveliest waitress ever) is always smiley, greets absolutely everyone who comes through the door and nothing is ever too much trouble. The menu is amazing, lots of choice between breakfast and lunch, and although I'm not vegan or veggie the options if you are are incredible. Loads of charging sockets for those of us who work a lot, always a chilled playlist and a nice atmosphere.

On first sight (curb appeal), the cafe didn't look very inviting. The main picture window was completely steamed up which made it look more like a laundrette than a cafe!

Never underestimate the power of local business - I'd take Funky Monkey over a thousand Starbucks. Where else do you get such an enthusiastic and personal welcome, whether old or young? Fantastic staff, fantastic food and fantastic prices. One of my favourite places and may it never change.

I love coming here for lunch with my mother and my babies it's very warm and cosy which I like but because of how popular it is I do think it needs to be a lot bigger especially when you have a lot of mums in with there babies push chairs in a morning

This is my second time in this coffee place and on both occasions we were served slightly warmish much i would say cold hot chocolate and chai latte!

Nice food and drinks, hippie style coffee shop which I like. But its way too small so most of the time there is no room to sit. I wanted a cup of herbal tea, and as they do not do teabags I had to pay for a whole pot! Way too much liquid for one person... and at £2.50 for a cup of tea I can't afford to go back. They should offer herbal teabags as well, to keep the cost down. Not all of us want a litre of tea.

On the main street in Davenport/Cale Green, this is a friendly local indie cafe with great staff. Open sevens days a week, can always be relied upon for a warm smile and a hot drink.

This is a lovely little cafe with a good selection of food, including vegan options. The staff are very friendly, there are toys and books for children, books for adults to borrow and comfy seating. Location is good with a park next door and another across the road. I believe they have recently been rated 5 by food hygiene :)

We visit the funky monkey very regularly. All the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. There is a varied menu for breakfast, lunch and treats.My personal favourite is the hot chocolate!
