Line was absolutely huge took about 40-50 minutes to get my chips. Guys behind the counter talk and shout a little too much for my liking 🤣

I went there on weekday yet the waiting time was 40 mins. Good thing they took our order while we were in line, but we underestimated the portion sizes. Long story short, we ordered 2 large fries for 4 adults and it was way more than enough and we had tons of leftovers. We ordered fries with medium spice level and taste was good. Not too good. I had high expectations from this place. Also the fries were all soggy because they way they prepare them, its better to eat right away and do not wait longer than 15 mins.

This food was sooo yummy!! I really enjoyed eating these. Had a great time and the service was fantastic.

I think I got a classic one cheese it was delicious. And enough for two people.

OVERHYPED. Save your money. Missing condiments, standard chips with standard siracha sauce. I ordered it with chicken and they where just frozen chicken pieces thrown on top, maybe that was on me. Only gave 2 stars for the workers enthusiasm, that was the only uplifting thing. Nothing special. £17.40 for a large chips. 'Awesome chips' are miles better and not premium priced.

The fries were good but definitely messy. The employees aren’t the most detailed. I witnessed a guy hovering jalepenos on top when the customer says they didn’t order any. Meanwhile the jalapeño juice is dropping over the fries…

Average tasting chips surviving due to internet hype. Charged 4.20 for chicken and gave us 4-6 chicken popcorns for that price. The cheese they use is not good quality either, what you get is fries loaded with mayonnaise and some spices. Would not recommend.

It's a place that's shared a lot on social media, so you have to be patient because the lines are long and wait times are excessive. There are too many sauces for my taste. I don't think I'd go back. Camdentown has plenty of fast food places to try, so it was okay, but not amazing!

Totally overrated potatoes. We went there because of rss recommendations, but there are a thousand better places in the same market. Despite asking for very little spice, the oregano flavor is excessive and makes them mainly potatoes with melted cheese and oregano. Would not repeat experience. At noon there was a long wait with an endless queue, at 6pm we were there for about 30 minutes. "L" size portion for about 13 pounds and we ate 3 people. We wouldn't order any of the 3 again.

I won’t even give a star. Worst experience ever. We saw the large queue, stood behind the queue, no one came to take the order. After about 45mins standing in the queue, we reached the till and he said he can’t take our order as we have order the food first to his colleague. Please who stood behind us and in front of us went back to the colleague, but he said we were lying and we weren’t in the queue. Irresponsible and disrespectful.

The Cheesy Garlic potatoes were very good, they weren't spicy and they tasted a lot like cheese and garlic. The workers are very nice and friendly.

We waited about 45 minutes in line. I would say the hype and the wait were worth it. Very tasty and not a bad price either!

I don’t know what I was expecting but it was not this! Queue was crazy, worker came down the queue to take orders, didn’t have menu explained or anything felt very rushed. Large masala chips with chicken and crispy onions £17.50 absolutely scandalous like it’s literally just reheated fried chips and fried chicken, nothing special, no sauce offered or anything! Disappointed!

This dining experience was underwhelming, to say the least. The hotdogs, a simple staple, were marred by stale buns that crumbled upon handling, detracting significantly from the overall enjoyment. The "funky chips," while intriguing in concept, delivered only an average taste, failing to live up to any expectations of novelty or flavor. Ultimately, a significant portion of the meal was left uneaten, a clear indication of its poor quality. It's safe to say that this establishment doesn't warrant high expectations.

The queues are long on here because of tik tok but I do not get the hype. Had better tasting Belgian chips type of places. The chips were over fried and tasted bitter which over powered the flavour of the cheese and spices. We ordered the small spicy chips with crispy onions, chicken and melted cheese. All these flavours lost because the chips were over fried and oily. I think the enthusiasm and friendly attitude from the staff is great.

We came on Tuesday morning so there was no line, we had the masal chips abd the garlic halloumi chips, both were amazing, this place was well worth the wait.

we’ve tried spicy massala chips with extra cheese. it was small one but i think it’s enough for two. it was tasty but not worth for 11£ (all my own opinion). the guy who served this was so energic and hyperactive, he was so funny

It was good but not exceptional; still, worth trying. However, the pricing could be reconsidered. We ordered a medium-sized Masala fries, which was sufficient for two people.

We went to try these famous potatoes on tik tok. We went on a weekday, so there was no line. You have to place the order with the iPad guy and pay. The potatoes were very good, it cost us 17 small potatoes with pieces of chicken and a bottle of water.

Really just a viral Internet hype really was not as nice as we expected.

My husband and I visited Camden market last week (March 2025) and, embarrassingly, having seen numerous TikTok reviews of this company, we were drawn in by the hype and decided to sample these ‘funky’ chips for ourselves. Mercifully, due to visiting during a cold, wet weekday, there was no queue or huge cluster of people clamouring around the stall when we approached, so we didn’t need to queue. The service was very friendly and efficient. The menu is extremely straightforward; you choose the size, the sauce, and any toppings you’d like and pay the man with the iPad before you approach the counter . I chose the non-spicy version with a mixture of melted and grated cheese on top; though they do decant a significant amount of unlabelled herbs and spices on the chips as well. However, I’m afraid that’s where the positives end. My husband noticed that the chips were all pre-cooked (presumably to save time when the crowds and queues are significantly larger) and then chucked back into the vat to ‘warm them up’ prior to serving. This makes the chips very crunchy. However, the oil being used to re-fry the chips is not clean, and it gave the chips a burnt, unpleasant after-taste. Additionally, despite the numerous toppings and herbs added, we found them remarkably bland. In fact, after each sampling several chips, we found we had no other choice but to bin the rest because they were simply inedible. We are not fussy eaters by any stretch of the imagination, but I find many of the glowing social media reviews about these chips very dubious indeed. Furthermore, we were left with the lingering taste of, what I can only describe as burnt garlic, in our mouths for the rest of the day (despite making extensive efforts to rid ourselves of this unpleasant tang). A waste of £10 and a lesson well learnt.

underwhelming and overrated. saw plenty of white people queueing which already was a bad sign. got the masala chips and sadly they feel super watered down taste wise, probs to suit their european audience and for £9.50 you can eat a meal elsewhere. insanely long queue but not worth it. 5 at best

Super fun atmosphere, the workers have a cute little song they sing regularly and have a fun vibe for sure. The fries are mountains. Would love a smaller size than their small 😅 we got the masala fries with cheese and they were pretty good! Very flavorful, but wayyyyy too much food even for two.

The large potato easily serves up to 3 people! The potato is rustic, cut on the spot and served fried with the skin and everything. It is delicious because of the seasonings that are used (many of them). The Funky Chips are definitely worth sharing and strolling around Camden Market.

Waited in line over 20 minutes, always has the longest queues but its worth it! The atmosphere the guys working there make is amazing, the chips are very tasty and very big portions, would recommend 100%, the queue proves it for itself!

Instagram has once again magnified an establishment that is absolutely not worth it. Potatoes with a burnt flavor that is even disgusting. A half-hour queue to pay €15 for a bowl of potatoes that don't taste like cheese or spices; they taste like potatoes that have been left in the fryer for an extra 10 minutes and without any scruple they sell them as exquisite. Don't waste your time or your money

The food isn't that great, especially for the price you pay. 16 pounds for a portion of chips for two people. We asked for spicy masala chips but they weren't spicy and contained tons of jalapeños. Basically badly seasoned chips with too much sauce and cheese. Not worth it

The site has gone viral on TikTok. You have to queue quite a bit and the potatoes practically only taste of spices, so that's all. Of course, the portions are generous.

Typical site that the Instagram effect has done a favor. Super burnt potatoes, neither the potato nor the spices nor the sauces nor the cheese, it just tastes burnt. The cheese they add is only good for the top potatoes, don't expect the bottom ones to taste anything other than burnt. Quite disgusting really. Don't wait 30 minutes in line for this. About 16-18 euros for the large size.

Even though I went in the evening on a rainy day, the queue was still quite long. However, I think it was worth it, as the chips were really very good. the portion was very generous, the price was a little expensive but understandable given the area.

Been here twice now and the first time the masala chips were dry and burnt, no fluffiness to the chips and not even saucy. Thought maybe this is a one off and went back yesterday to try the cheesy chips exact same issues, chips were fried to death and were hard. Power flavouring was used to flavour the chips. Honestly guys save your self some time and don’t even bother waiting in the queue. Not sure why it is so hyped up there are better chips around London for more reasonable prices. Or better still go to Birmingham city centre and try “awesome chips” 100x better.

This is a tourist trap; prices are really high for such greasy, tasteless chips. We got caught, queuing for half an hour, only to end up throwing the chips in the rubbish. We ordered the cheese ones.
