These were the worst chips we have ever had in our lives. They were burnt and covered with melted cheese. It's just hype, people. Eat well and stay healthy; avoid these at all costs.

Burnt food. Waste of money eating here. Gives you a stomach ache after eating it.

Not recommended at all. This store is unnecessarily hyped. The fries taste disgusting. No taste nothing. And paid £12 for it, way too much. Plus you stand in line for at least half an hour. Save your money and spend it somewhere else!

Even though I went in the evening on a rainy day, the queue was still quite long. However, I think it was worth it, as the chips were really very good. the portion was very generous, the price was a little expensive but understandable given the area.

Been here twice now and the first time the masala chips were dry and burnt, no fluffiness to the chips and not even saucy. Thought maybe this is a one off and went back yesterday to try the cheesy chips exact same issues, chips were fried to death and were hard. Power flavouring was used to flavour the chips. Honestly guys save your self some time and don’t even bother waiting in the queue. Not sure why it is so hyped up there are better chips around London for more reasonable prices. Or better still go to Birmingham city centre and try “awesome chips” 100x better.

It wasn't delicious, unfortunately the taste was full of spices and we had to wait in it for about 40 minutes, frankly, I overdid it.

So so over-hyped place - they are essentially mixing all the bad fats in one bowl and serving it - tastes average as well

It's good and comes in large quantities, it's always full... but for me personally I would prefer thinner and crispier potatoes and with more options like cheddar cheese, fried bacon......

It is worth the long line to have these potatoes. They are delicious. The preparation show is good, but you should be prepared for about 30/45 minutes in line.

This is a tourist trap; prices are really high for such greasy, tasteless chips. We got caught, queuing for half an hour, only to end up throwing the chips in the rubbish. We ordered the cheese ones.

This place is overhyped. Yes, the portions are good but with so much sauce and just seasoning, the chips become soggy and the quality of the chips themselves aren’t that great in the first place. The masala flavour itself tastes good but just not in combination with the chips. This is one of those places which look good but don’t taste as good as it seems.

French fries with lots of spices and sauces, very large and good portions. Friendly and fun staff, shame about the exaggerated price of around €9 for a nice portion of chips which was a bit too much!!!

Long queue. Overpriced. Bathed in artificial sauce taste. Soft fries (with no hint of crunch. Not at all tasty. The service however was nice as they sing to you while preparing your order.

Camden Market is a guaranteed, very characteristic place. We had lunch at Funky Chips and I must say that it was worth it, both for the very affordable price (we took a small portion and it was enough for two people, the portions are in fact very generous) and for the taste. It met expectations completely!

I'm not crazy about Indian food, those who like multi-ethnic cuisine Ok.

Travelled a long way to camden market to try funky chips on 18th of January Saturday, reached there at 8:15 where as there closing time was 9 They refused to serve as they said it was not busy and now they are not gonna fry more fries . I travelled all the way from Cambridge to try these, requesting several times they did not agreed to take order and serve. Although they did not even started the shop closing procedure. The staff was very rude and arrogant. Fries may be good but the behavior from staff was not expected.

AVOID! I came all the way from north London for these fries as I saw them on social media. There was a queue, I understand these guys are a trend right now. When I was watching the process of them making the fries it's literally them putting multiple cheap store bought powders and tossing it around in a funky way. The brands used were chefs larder (cheapest catering stuff you can find). Their spicy style is chucking store bought chilli flakes on top. Decent portions. Had to be for charging £16 for a portion of fries with a couple of cold chicken poppers on top. The actual fries themselves were really bad quality. Like they were fried in the dirtiest black oil reused too much. No crunch or fluffiness or any style of acceptable way to serve. I ate 2-3 fries and threw the rest in the bin. I gave the 1 star based on food quality which is what I came for. It's a shame as it's a great location and the concept itself is good. Could do so much better

I messaged these guys on instagram and was told EVERYTHING was gluten free. I live very far, about 2 hours on the train, and was really excited to come try this. The queue was enormous basically at all times so prepare to wait a good while 90mins plus during peak times. We spoke to the guy taking orders for people queuing, who to his credit was really nice, and double checked the allergies, where I was told only plain chips would be gluten free, which obviously i wasn't prepared to queue 90 minutes for. Super disappointed to see social media person unaware of the allergens on site, had i not double checked it could have been really dangerous :/

During a recent trip to London, I was interested in trying the popular Funky Chips after seeing their social media popularity. The queue was quite long, and I observed similarly long queues at Camden Market on two consecutive days. In the end, I waited approximately 35 minutes in a rather chilly line. I was happy to wait for food, as long as it lived up to my expectations. I ordered their Famous "Masala chips" and "Cheesy chips," and I was very disappointed with both of them. The quality was quite poor. They were essentially chips with a lot of sauce, lacking proper seasoning and flavor. Their claim of being the "BEST CHIPS IN ENGLAND" is far from accurate. It certainly wasn't worth the €30 I spent and the long wait. There are significantly better chip shops in London for a fraction of the cost. However, I must say the staff were very entertaining and kind to customers, but I went for the food, so the overall experience was disappointing. I wouldn't recommend it, but if you wish to try it, please be prepared for potential disappointment.

everything was great !! without a line, the wait wasn't very long and the service was amazing. i asked for a recommendation and the man that helped me really took his time to ask what i did and didn't like to make sure he'd recommend me something i enjoyed. the food tasted amazing and the portions were so generous. the seating area was also nice. the box was perfect for carrying around my leftovers and warming up in the microwave once i got home. i could not recommend this place enough!

Totally overrated potatoes. Despite asking for very little spice, the oregano flavor is excessive and makes them mainly potatoes with melted cheese and oregano. Would not repeat experience. At noon there was a long wait, at 6pm we were there for about 30 minutes. "L" size portion for about 13 pounds and we ate 3 people.

Nice experience but that's all, very motivated guys and nice atmosphere; unfortunately the chips were nothing special, generous portions (for £15 they fit) but too many flavors that canceled each other out. It's definitely not one of London's Must Have Foods. Then we were greeted by a gentleman with a tablet who told you to choose between Large-Small and Spicy-Not Spicy, you paid, he told you a number then all you had to do was wait. I'm sorry but I definitely wouldn't go back.

Waited over an hour just to get stale chips and unfresh ingredients. The sausage was something from a can and uncooked, the vegetables were definitely out of a jar. Was NOT worth the wait.

Honestly we were disappointed, 50 minutes of waiting (we arrived at 2:30 p.m.). The fries were edible but nothing exceptional, no taste of fries, only tasteless "cheese" and a powder that they add to their mixture. (one S portion is more than enough for 1 person)

It was an amazing and fabulous experience of have unique and tasty Fries in the town. Came specially from Pakistan to try these chips. The Indian guy as a host was amazing served awesome, take our order in a great manner and guided us as we were there for the first time. Five thumbs up to that hosting cute chubby white indian guy, dont remember his name and the manager name was Paul i guess. Starting with “P”. Place highly recommended.

I can't believe people stood in the queue for over an hour for just potato and sauce. Shows the power of capitalism and the Influential sad reality of tiktok. Got to give them credit for coming up with the idea of taking orders while you are in queue, so even if you got fed up standing there , you can't leave 🤣🤣

The masala fries are delicious. The workers' wit and cheerfulness make you excited to buy from them. Is it okay to force them? Of course not 😁
