Fullam Chinese Restaurant in North Devon

Had a lovely lunch this week with My friends. Food was so delicious and plenty of it. Staff were very welcoming, and every thing was clean and pleasant. I highly recommend this resturaunt. Already booked again.

First time I have been here and myself and a work colleague enjoyed a really tasty meal it was even better than we expected, and I've got to say when we received the bill we're pleasantly surprised it was actually we thought good value.

Visited here on a Saturday evening. It was nice and busy and a good atmosphere. We were sat promptly to our table and drinks arrived swiftly. We decided to share a few dishes and everything was good well and the quantity and quality was really good. The service was ok as the lady that served us was not really that customer friendly. But I would still definitely be back

Best Chinese food I’ve had in a while. I come from just outside London - and China Town can’t beat this!! Fresh, authentic, hot. Friendly staff I came twice in 7 days!!! Only issue - could have done with rice bowls rather than plates, easier to use with chopsticks.

We had a fantastic meal tonight at the Fullam Chinese Restaurant in Barnstaple. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and superb food. I can personally vouch for the Roast duck in plum sauce it was delicious to the last mouthful. We will definitely be visiting again. Thoroughly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Just had the most amazing meal tonight at the Fullam restaurant in Barnstaple. The restaurant itself is beautifully laid out, tables are nicely spread around. The staff are all efficient and really welcoming. Food is cooked fresh and served hot and foremost absolutely delicious. I had Roast Duck in plum sauce with egg fried rice - I enjoyed every mouthful , dessert of banana fritter and Ice cream literally food heaven. I will be thoroughly recommending them to everybody to eat there. We will definitely be visiting again soon.

Take out only, but the food was fantastic. Restaurant looks very nice so will definitely eat in the next time I'm in the area.

Excellent food and service as usual

Lovely evening, tasty food, portions a little small for the price but cannot fault the quality.

This restaurant never disappoints. The decor, the staff. the cleanliness and the food are always excellent. Service is very good and the prices are fair. The menu caters for all tastes and portion sizes are perfect. I cannot find fault at all with this restaurant. You can tell that the staff have been well trained. I just wish that we lived closer to Barnstaple so we could visit more often.

My wife and I ate here twice during our stay. We enjoyed the chicken and pineapple, Sichuan chicken and Samba chicken (very spicy) as well as egg fried rice. All of it was excellent although the egg fried rice was nothing special to me. I had the Sichuan chicken the first night... wife tried it and she ordered it the 2nd time we visited. I had the Samba chicken the 2nd night because they were out the first visit... it was excellent and very spicy...

😎 l had the most wonderful food.. all served on hot plates and serving dishes.. Finger bowl supplied after the starters.. A really comprehensive menu to suit all tastes... extensive vegetarian menu... very well priced.. exceedingly good value... Highly recommended 😎

What a fantastic restaurant. We have not been up Barnstaple for a few years and was so pleased to be able to go back for a lovely meal. Upon entering the staff was so welcoming and Alan recognised us straight away with so much warmth and charm. The food was just as delicious as we remembered we had the Set Meal and the service was excellent as it always was. We can't wait to come back again when we come back from Cornwall. If you have not been here you will have a great experience. Xx

The very smartly staff were very attentive, pleasant and efficient. Our order was taken and really good value quality food arrived without delay. Disabled Toilets, easily accessible, clean etc. We will go again hopefully soon.

What can I say. An amazing dinning experience. I would love to give a shout-out to the fella behind the bar who was called Dec. He was so friendly and omg did he make the drinks taste GOOD! Super friendly and a great therapist listening to our issues outside of this amazing rest of course! Honestly outstanding and Dec, you are star!

Nice big Portions of food good food

We are regular visitors to Barnstaple, and do try to eat here when we come. This is a lovely restaurant, where the staff are friendly and helpful and the food is outstanding. I do try other dishes on the menu which have been delicious, but usually revert to Fulham Duck HK Style. Try it you will not regret it.

Food was amazing until we found multiple hairs In it, the management should either shave the kitchen staff head to toe or invested in hair nets!

Had a takeaway for the first time in about 8 months, Always had from this restaurant. But what the hell has gone wrong tonight! Have you changed the cooker?the supplier of meat? The ingredients? Awful!! Meat chewy ,very poor quality, satay sauce was so spicy and definitely not satay sauce! Chips overcooked and dark brown! No flavour to chow mein at all! Spring rolls! Oily and no flavour other than pastry! Sweet and sour chicken, well that was tough and hardly any flavour! Singapore noodles had that many chillies cut up in it! There was more of that than meat!!! Could not eat what a waste of money!! Will definitely not be going back!!

I took my partner here for dinner as we were visiting the area, we are brighton based. The food and the service were phenomenal, with lovely staff who cater to a great standard. It was my partners birthday, and they even brought her out an ice cream with a candle popped on top without request, while playing happy birthday through their speakers! Amazing atmosphere, will definitely return!

Excellent. My wife and I went with my elderly parents, who live locally and are both in their 90's, Alan ( who fronts ) was superb. Made sure they were seated in a nice bright area and was very attentive, particularly to them which made it a great lunch experience. I mentioned to Alan that my parents should have a ' lunch date' once a month using a taxi. He said absolutely and that I should not worry about them as he would always look after them ( I live 300 miles away) and ensure their safety and access as they are both on walking sticks/ walker frame. My father is a veteran and very well travelled, particularly in the far east/ Hong Kong etc but said it was one of the nicest meals he has had in a long while. Food was excellent along with the service.

We went this Restaurant on Tuesday evening and the food was a revelation absolutely first class ,lovely appointed establishment.The staff were extremely friendly and professional,the service was extremely quick and efficient and very good value for money.I would highly recommend this establishment to everyone

We enjoyed the food here, the staff were helpful, the restaurant was clean, main course portion sizes were generous, we ended up with a little too much. The flavours were subtle, not over the top, would definitely return here.

We have been searching for a long time for a good Chinese restaurant and wow did we find it. It was well worth the drive from the other side of Holsworthy, the menu choice is fantastic and the portions are generous. All the staff were very pleasant and always had smiles on their faces and would engage with you when ever they were close. All the dishes we hade were fantastic and will definitely be returning to this lovely restaurant. If your close dont miss out but we found its better to book in advance. If we where to give it marks out of 10 it would most definitely be 11.

Staying at westward ho ! Looking for a takeaway , after seeing many poor ads locally came across Fullam it was a 20 minute drive away , nice greeting on arrival , looked at menu whilst sinking a pint of lager , ordered paid £115 for 6 persons including what my wife says the best aromatic duck she has tasted , food was amazing hot and cooked to perfection well done thanks

Lovely place, lovely food, lovely service

We had a very enjoyable family meal celebrating a special birthday. The only reason for the four stars on service and atmosphere is due to it being very busy which made it difficult to hear over the noise and this meant the service was a slower than we would have liked, but as above, this was because it is clearly a very popular restaurant and wouldn't put us off coming back. Other than that the food was excellent, (best we've had in the area) and the the staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend if you want a tasty Chinese meal. Didn't take any photos as mobile phones were banned from the table. (We wanted the teenagers to join in!)

Best Chinese in Barnstaple. When I am in this town I always eat here. The menu has a good selection. The service and staff are always efficient and friendly. This place is always busy, so I recommend making reservations. The food is excellent, I've been eating here for years and never been disappointed. The samba chicken is divine if you like something hot.If in Barnstaple and you are looking for a Chinese restaurant, try and get a reservation here

Absolutely amazing lunch. Had a quick lunch with some friends. Coming from hk, the food was great. I jad nasi goreng, only complaint was it was a touch too salty.

Great takeaway. Fried rice, Cantonese chicken and duck with ginger all tasted amazing. Would definitely return

Good food. Good service. I used to go weekly but only go for special occasions now as it's got too expensive. I love their curry but have to ask for no peppers, no carrots. I don't know of any other Chinese to put large pieces of these vegetables in the dish. They didn't put these in when they first opened,

First time visiting Fullam, from a friends recommendation and did not disappoint. The service, the menu and the quality of the food was all excellent. The only negative is that you cannot leave a tip on a credit card. We don’t carry cash and we were a little embarrassed we couldn’t leave a gratuity. Please change your policy. That being said we will go back.

I have known this Restaurant for many years. They set as high a standard now as they have ever. There is a very full Menu offering a wide variety of fresh authentic food. They have new let me down and offer a wide variety of good, well priced food. The staff have plenty of time to treat customers as individuals and I felt valued.

Food was absolutely out if this world, never been before will definitely be going again.

Very disappointed with a visit here for my 60th Birthday. We have been coming to the restaurant for the past 20 years and we have always had great food great service good value. I'm not sure if it is under new ownership but the menu has changed which in itself is fine. The menus on the table were plastic and sticky not a good start. We were sat next to the toilet even though we booked the first server was surly to say the least. Considering our table was for 5.30 surely there was no need to seat us there. The choice of food was disappointing there used to be a banquet meal which was great value but that has gone now. All in all not what i expected for what was a significant birthday treat. I could have spent that £100 and enjoyed the food elsewhere

Lunchtime Friday for this family of 3, restaurant was half full. Attentive staff and relaxing atmosphere. There was a lunchtime special set menu that looked great yet we opted for the multi-dish share affair and really enjoyed all that arrived n front of us. Dishes included starter sharing platter, Hong Kong Duck, beef on sizzling platter, chilli pork, fried rice and House noodles. They also provide a set evening menu, we'll try that next time!

Lovely looking resteraunt even though we had take out. The food and service were excellent

Standards seemed to have slipped on out last visit. We're sat down at a table, not laid. Other tables around us were dirty and uncleaned from previous service. Service slow, felt forgotten. Food was OK, sat in the conservatory bit, we closed window as was cold. Thank god we did as a rat later decided to scurry along the outside.

Amazing food. Amazing staff First time in a long time to have meat in a dish and not fobbed off with fatty factory leftovers. Really tender duck and beef and really generous too Only thing we did g like were the chairs. Funny shape and seat too small

Excellent food with some of the best ribs and roasted duck I have eaten. I've been back a couple of times. Very polite staff. Prices are reasonable. Had the Tom yum soup not quite as spicy as expected but tasted great. Highly recommended

We had a party of 11 attend on Saturday the 12th in the evening. We arrived at 8 pm and had to wait 20 minutes for our drinks order to be taken, and even longer for them to be made and brought over. We then waited over 45 minutes before we even had our food order taken. The staff were lovely and the food was delicious, but the wait for food and drink wasn't great. We had finished our drinks before our meal came and I had to go up and ask for someone to get us some more. There was a lot of food, but the delivery of the food wasn't great - some plates arrived much later than others. When we then paid at the end, the lady tried to charge us £20 extra for drinks that we had ordered but were then told we could not have them because they had run out of Vodka. Had we not noticed, we would have paid for them - due to them not having been removed from the final amount.

For someone who doesn't like Chinese very much, that was very tasty and quick service as well

Edible food but nothing special, overpriced and the broccoli and garlic and beef in cashew nuts were really salty. The chicken in sweetcorn soup was good though. Wouldn’t return, I’m sure there are much better chinese restaurant in the area. Surplus parking available right outside which was good.

We ate here for the first time 2 nights ago, what a treat. The food was delicious, the service was superb, even though the restaurant was very busy, everything was served very quickly and with a smile. Would definitely recommend.

Great restaurant! The food was excellent 👌 we had a choice of starters, ribs and then two mains and rice. The duck samba was spicy and delicious - and the sizzling chicken with ginger and spring onion was also excellent. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the service was excellent. Couldn't fault it.

The restaurant were able to accommodate us without a reservation. The meals were delicious and we were able to get some halal options which made it even better.

Had the 2 person sharing banquet- which is £29.50 per person- absolutely amazing. Brilliant service and the food was delicious and plentiful.

Fantastic takeaway food. The best I’ve had in Barnstaple to date! Large portion size. Excellent quality food, great taste.

This was our second visit and we had delicious food and friendly, courteous service. We asked for our food to be xtra spiced and it was and they came to check it was spicy enough which was really nice. We will definitely be back.

We’ve been to Fullam every time on our Devon holidays for a number of years now, and have enjoyed it. However, this time will be our last as the quality of the food and service has diminished greatly. After ordering drinks, which we had to remind the waiter of a number of times, we had prawn crackers, which arrived without dipping sauce. Upon requesting this, which the waiter seemed confused about, we received a tiny sample of sweet chilli sauce, which we were charged extra for. The rest of the meal was equally poor. Prawn toasts were greasy, the sweet and sour chicken was dry and chicken was of poor quality. The Thai green curry was a sloppy mess, which for reasons unknown came with soggy noodles. Very unhappy, and despite complaining, no attempt to correct was made. We will be looking for a different Chinese restaurant on our next holiday.

Always love this place. Quality food, a good choice of drinks in pleasant surroundings. Strangely on this occasion I paid on card and had zero cash and found myself unable to leave a tip as they don't allow tips on cards. Very strange in these increasingly cashless days.

one of my favorite Chinese restaurants anywhere. Food is superb and service even better. For lunch or dinner, really top notch.

Maybe they were having a bad night, but I remember the food being really good but not recently unfortunately; mushroom rice was swimming in grease, chicken chow mein was average and greasy too. Pity. It was overall overpriced for what we had. We were there early on a weeknight, and the service was so slow we had to ask where our food was.

Excellent venue for good food and nice atmosphere.

The service was second to none! That also matched the excellent quality of the food! Only thing I would suggest is some ambient background music to enhance the atmosphere.

We booked a table for ten people in advance every thing was ready for us at the time of arrival. The food was lovely and staff nice and accommodating.

Real gem of a restaurant in Barnstaple. We had some takeaway from here yesterday and it was great! We went for Singapore noodles, Nasi Goerang and some sides of chicken dishes and all of them tasted good and the portions were extremely filling and the prices were reasonable too. The staff were nice and we spoke about places to visit while we're here as I was collecting the food. Very satisfied with the meal and highly recommended!

The best chinese meal we have had in a long time! We had a quarter crispy duck to start, and it was simply the best ! Really crispy skin, yet moist meat and full of flavour. We followed up with beef in black bean sauce, chicken with ginger and onions, and Singapore noodles. Everything was excellent, the beef was tender, chicken not overcooked...the noodles could have been a bit more chilli hotter for our palate, but that said it was all absolutely fine. The service was spot on, really couldn't fault anything just thoroughly recommend. Reasonable price and great atmosphere.

Looking forward to our meal last night , Shocking they took our drinks Oder , waited 30 minutes then we ask where it was they forgot , then we Oder I’ll dinner , time it took come out it was wrong Oder , feel they spend to much time getting takeaway Oder out that lose sight of people In the restaurant .
