Fish n chips are the best ever staff brilliant😀

We got standard fish and chip and they was not the usual standard as it was dry fish think it was old and chips dry and cold it’s happened a few time I won’t be return as it hit and miss this place.

Good fish and chips, chips were a little soggy and peas were a touch watery. Fish was great though. Overall was good experience.

Dry chips, scraggy haddock. Avoid.

theere overcharging and charging what they want reporting them to trading standards there prices say one thing on baard how can they charge 12.50 medium fish and small chips dont go there go portlands next to small sainsbrys harrogate rd only 10.00 and other fish shop opeing soon they will then soon drop there prices

Great ambiance,Food was delicious and Also very please with the server kile. Would definitely recommend Fridays for sure.

Is this for real. Dark brown very dry chips like cardboard. The photos attached are typical of the entire meal. £29 for fish and chips and peas and a Large fish. 5.15pm today 22nd Jan. Very quiet restaurant. Sending out reheated old chips. Worse than frozen oven chips. Fish was v good. Staff nice enough. V clean place. Been coming since they opened. Last time. White mush under the batter and greasy and bowed not to return. This time cannot do a decent hot fresh chip. Shameful. Taste your food before you send it out

Time to try again today. £29 for regular f and c and a large haddock, 5.15pm 22nd Jan. V quiet and no queue. So, not sure why we had to pay for cold very very bone dry sawdust chips. I would put money on it they are reheated. Like cheap oven chips. Just gutted and will never ever eat here again. Fish was v good but it’s an entire meal and the simplest bit was unloved and not fit for a dogs dinner.

not as good as they once were , relatively expensive , the chip portions outweighed the fish portions quite considerably .

I order here very frequently and they’ve never let us down. The staff are like a well oiled machine. They work efficiently and provide excellent customer service. The food is great. Glad they have gf options.

Went for first time on what I expected to be a quiet first Friday in January - food and service were both excellent - really well staffed with minimal wait times for eat in and take out. Despite being really busy. Went at request of a gluten-intolerant relative who was delighted with her gluten free battered fish & chips! Will definitely go again.

Yes you are going to pay a bit more than somewhere like drakes chips shop but the food is next level and worth every penny the place is clean and the staff are really polite and friendly friendly

Ordered 3 super jumbos, wait time was decent around 10-15 minutes as they cook fresh to order. The woman who served us was lovely. The quality in the food was amazing and as everything was fried fresh you couldn’t complain. The curry sauce mushy pease and gravy were also very very good, tube for them where decent sized. I think the fish could have been bigger at £19.99 but the quality of it does help over look that! Will definitely return.

Went in on Friday lunchtime, we were quite demanding in that we wanted lots of scraps, extra salt and vinegar etc but the two women working were so accommodating and lovely it really made our day. They were genuinely nice people and a credit to frydays. Food amazing and filling. Lovely place and still has hand sanitiser which is great as most places have dropped this. Just fantastic on all levels.

Used to be a great F&C but I'm afraid this is nolonger the case 🙈 although staff are friendly and offer good service. The pricing is way off the mark to point where I would say rather expensive. As for the fish and chips this is ordinary, sorry guys just an honest opinion 👍🏾

Fish was good but the counter lady put the salt and vinager twice on the same portion

Used to be my go to fish and chips. Unfortunately, my evening meal was very poor. Fish was tough and not flaking away. Batter was soggy and all stuck to the paper. Chips were all stuck together and under done. The standards are pretty high at this chippy usually so super disappointed - perhaps an off day.

It's our first time dining in but we've ordered several times before. The staffs are all friendly and attentive. 5 🌟 customer service. We've enjoyed the fish and chips. Just a shame that I'm not good at eating chips as they give a really good portion. Over all experience is excellent. Definitely worth a visit. 👍 👌

Great tasting food. Fish and chips with scraps... what more could you ask for. Portions were plentiful. They liked "normal" but it was deceptive, they were huge, even the "standard" size. Staff were friendly and efficient. Ordering online was easy.

Brilliant fish and chips! The variety of portion sizes for fish and chips was great. Standard was a very decent portion size for the price! Chips were freshly cooked, not soggy or hard. The fish was very tasty, no bones, the batter was thin and crispy and not greasy. The team working there are very friendly and we will definitely go back!

Went for a takeaway on Monday teatime Fish very nice but the chips definitely tasted and looked like they were on a third warm up. They were so awful that I left them all. Spoilt the meal

Very highly priced food, that isn't any different to anywhere else. Perhaps cut down staffing costs by NOT cooking to order. I'd go elsewhere to find better fish n chips. The fishcakes are rubbish at a heart stopping 3.99.

I have been a loyal customer at Frydays for many years, both collection & delivery. I ordered delivery on 3rd February and advised 50 mins wait at 17:05 at almost 19:00 - 2 hours later - the food arrives cold and inedible. I had called asking where the delivery was and advised just running late with no apology. The food cost £29.34 and was a special treat for myself and my partner after an awful week. I’ve emailed numerous times over the weekend asking for a full refund and also used Facebook messenger and nobody has had the decency to reply. I am hoping management reads this review and replies over wise you have lost a long years loyal customer

Bustling chippy with seated area if you want to eat in. Always busy so food is fresh and delicious. Staff are on the ball and keep things moving fast and efficiently. Best of all the food tastes great.

2 chips 2 curry sauces over £13 expensive, bearing in mind my local charges £14 for fish and chips twice and curry sauce

Best gluten free and regular fish and chips around and the staff are always friendly and accommodate my celiac daughter professionally every time.

After taking the time to order online and pay I was then informed the order had been declined. Apparently I’m not in the catchment area for delivery. But nowhere on the website does it say that, even when you put your postcode in. They need to update their website and rather than collecting money before declining they need to at least decline before taking the money out of my account. Even if the money is pending I still can’t access it. Not very polite on the telephone when I called, very obviously not bothered about what had happened. I won’t ever be visiting there again.

Fish and chips were excellent. Staff were all friendly and attentive and you can sit in without having to pay extra. Until recently I would swear by the Skyliner at Cross Gates for the best fish and chips but these are definitely up there. Will definitely go again.

Tasteless and boring..Dry chips, boring fish..although a generous portion, nicely packed..save your cash and go get some proper 'chippy chips' and nice tasty fish elsewhere..this was an insult to the tastebuds and ended up in the bin.

Only had chips and mushy peas so can't comment on the fish but what i did have was really nice. Free ketchup on the counter too, which you used to get in most chippies back in the day, Big plus in my opinion. Friendly staff and good portions/price. Would go again for sure

The fish (haddock was the only choice) was far too thin, most likely cut in half in my opinion and I would also say it's overpriced for the portion size.

Love the chips, potato scallops and some of the veggie offerings. Would be awesome if there were a battered veggie sausage available, just a quorn or shroom dog offering. Would make this the best chippy in the UK if they did

They make amazing fish and chips. One of the best we had in the UK so far. My 22 months old son loves it, since he was 18 months old. Whenever he do not eat at home, we take him to frydays and it always work.

Lovely bit of fish. Nice and thick with just the right amount of flake. Not at all greasy. The batter was a perfect golden brown and crispy. Chips were good...again not greasy at all, if anything maybe ever so slightly too dry. Nice touch with free lollipops :) staff friendly. We got the medium size portion which may be on the smaller side for fish. So if you have a big appetite I'd go a size up.

Lovely staff, always so friendly and unlike other places don’t look miserable to be there! Mushy pea fritters are tip top, and they’re always generous when it comes to scraps. Overall great place and quick service.
