Fryday Fish Shop in North Tyneside

We tried the lunch time specials from here and were very surprised by the value. We all enjoyed our meals. We will go again next time we are through the tyne tunnel.

Good quality food for a decent price, only complaint was chilli is too mild but that's my personal prefrence to be fair. Decent clean good food and decent price. Deffinetly worth a visit .

Food was cold, i got battered chicken it was soggy and cold chips were all bits and bad. Only thing nice about the meal was the gravy, won't be ordering from here ever again 😒

Super fast and cheaper than the price list if you order inside.... zero stars for the atmosphere because it's only take away

The shame of it…the food is lush, the real shame of it is the customer service is appalling and I quote” if you don’t like the food, don’t like it”! We waited an hour and a half for our food and after numerous phone calls this was the reply. Shocking, in a cost of living crisis when you are trying to support local businesses this is the arrogant, ignorant and downright rude service you receive, and by the way…a can of coke definitely doesn’t make up for it.

Always get fish and chips, and it's always top tier. Chilli sauce is actually spicy, too.

Good food good atmosphere nice workers only downside is they are not open on the times they say they are.

Massive portions excellent value and staff super friendly

Advertise several prices online and then in-store is different again. Staff charge the maximum and very rude when asked about it. Food not what it used to be either.

Got lost over a delivery claimed to have phoned for directions but hadn't bothered

Amazing I remember going down one time with my friend we were both a bit cooked if you understand we went and some lovely lady blonde hair late 20s early 30s created us and just had a crack on with us we ordered our 2 kebab wraps and we were all laughing back and forth she even said she put extra in as we were baked and she could tell

Nearly 2 hours for a kebab delivery. 3 phone calls to be reassured that food was still at shop. Delivery came freezing cold, the same as last week... Will never order again..

Absolutely disappointed and disgusted, ordered fish with mushy peas and large garlic sauce, delivered without garlic sauce for what I paid £1.70 without any receipt, called them back , said they can't do anything as its closing time, even if they were 0.5 miles from my place. I even tipped the driver I wouldn't recommend to anyone, unless you wanna loose your money or your appetite!!!

Good food, great portion sizes, reasonably priced. Service has been good each time visited.

Just had a takeout food absolutely awful . Food not fresh kebab meat and battered sausage definitely not fresh today, Chips are hard and not cooked enough.

I love this place more than life itself. I don’t know how the pizzas are SO good but they are. Always look at the requests as well which is great. Kebabs are amazing, fish is lovely and chunky and chip portions are massive. All dips are great, and always arrived on time. Great prices and deal offers. Only thing i will say is that they don’t have all of the drink options the say they do on uber eats and they guy on the phone can come across a bit blunt, but honestly 10/10. Lived right round the corner for 3 years and only just started ordering, won’t go anywhere else now. Remember when this place was Bal’s and didn’t think it would be as good as it used to be but was pleasantly surprised. My favourite takeway!!

Decent local chippy that offers a variety of food. No parking available, so you can either park on the main Street or round the corner.

What a hidden gem! Sick of waiting in a huge que of tourists and paying for overpriced meals in Tynemouth or the Fish Quay we were recommended to Frydays and were not disappointed. Portions are huge and food is freshly cooked. Wide range of different foods available and definitely value for money. Havent tried the delivery yet.

Used to love this chippy - but it’s really gone downhill in the last couple of months. Got a delivery tonight... and they got the order wrong, and the food is cold.

Absolutly terrible the prices and the size of the bags of chips ect are shocking £30 and still got hardly anything... Thinks more about selling alchol and cigerettes under the counter NEVER BE BACK THERE

45minute late delivery. Never delivered 2 items totaling £18, called resteraunt and they said they not bringing our missing food because I was rude to delivery person. They kept my money and told me to deal with Uber...to add insult to injury the food they did deliver was cold and disgusting. Threw half in the bin. Worst experience from a takeaway ever. They do not deserve to get away with such service!!!

UPDATE Since last visit shop has been updated. Selling Fish and chips. Along with pizza and kebabs. Now have extensive drinks fridges with beers, spirits, wines and soft drinks. Delivery service available.. I had a decent fish with chips and a spam fritter for £9.70.

Where do I start? Ordered meal over the phone as it was a large order. Girl answered phone and asked me to hang on for 2 minutes. 8 minutes later she hadn't come back to the phone so I hung up. Rang the other number and placed my order. Was told it would be 45 minutes for it to be delivered. To cut a long story short after 2 phone calls to them I was told driver left 10 minutes ago with my order. After another hour I phoned as still not received it to be told my order was there ready to be delivered!!!!! By this time it was over 2 and a half hours after I placed the order. So I was blatantly lied to which is unacceptable. Asked to speak to manager but was told they were out delivering. So I told them to keep the food as it was too late by then. Manager then rang me and offered the food for £10 less than what it was but I said I didn't want it she then offered it to me for free but I was so cross I didn't want it. We had friends round and it spoilt our evening. So thanks for that.

Just bought meal box , plenty of food, but not nice at all, pizzas dry and awful tasting, tasted like they were reheated from this afternoon , kebab meat dry and definitely reheated from earlier, I will not be returning.

Can't fault the food or the service, the portions were huge 👍🏻

Order deliberately sent incorrectly. Called to rectify and got attitude from 2 different staff. One of which decided to shout my address across the shop to talk to someone else. Will not use again.

Delivered the wrong drinks . When called to resolve rude and unhelpful. Will not use again . Stick the proper Frydays in Wallsend.

Always nice place to go but have found recently they seem to give delivery meals preference as you have to wait whilst they do them even though they are not going out straight away

Cheap and not so cheerful, plenty of special offers on but the food wasnt great. With so many other chip shops in the area you would think more effort would be made

Delivery took an hour and a half. Food was cold. No apology or explanation. Shame as tasted good. At least our microwave was working! Won’t use again.

Far superior to the over rated Shields Quayside. Beautiful fish fillets, huge portions of chips. And the staff are always lovely. Can't even imagine who gave 2 stars. No seats? It's a take away, not a restaurant. It's the cheapest and highest quality around!°

Pretty cheap place worth to visit. The only contra is that the food is soaking in oil what is not too healthy.

Normally nice but just had a delivery, chips were overdone and hot shot pizza was bland, more like ham and mushroom with a bit spice , thought there should of at least been peppers,onions 🙄

Ordered 2kids meals and 3 all special come out after waiting ages and only received 1kids meal and 3 all day special but no sauce on any won't be going back

Telephone order placed at 4.40pm, was told delivery driver didn't come in until 5pm, food arrived at 5.07pm! Hot and delicious fish and chip supper for three. Lovely end to my stay in the UK, visiting my very poorly Aunt. Your food, and service, made the evening all the more enjoyable. Thank you. Highly recommended.

Absolutely diabolical service. Ordered pie and chips, pattie and chips and a portion of chicken nuggets for delivery and was told 45minutes to an hour which was fine as my daughter was on night shift and it gave her an hour to have her tea. Rang at 7.00 to be told ours was next one out by 7.30 still hadn't arrived. Needless to say I cancelled the order as my daughter had to leave for work at 7.45. Will never ever use that fish shop again absolutely disgusting.

Chips are lovely burgers were ok and good price.

Came in to get their lovely sauces end up buying sausage & chip . Food is good but service not so friendly. Very shocked when I open my carton and found half of the sausage 😳 luckily I’m not a fan of the sausage but I’m paying 2xsmall sauces and sausage &chip for £4.60. Feel been ripped off . Will try again next time.

Most Fridays means Frydays... We have home delivery and have never been disappointed. Fish, chips and mushy pea. Yum! What could be better... well the haggis actually !!

Really good price was cheap. Good value for money. Was only a bit too greasy for my liking? but much better than other places I been to in the area. Also portions was so large I couldn't finish, but my dogs were very happy! Thank you for a good service.

first time we been there we got cheeseburger with chips and bit kebab for £2 thought wouldnt be up to much for that price i was pleasantly surprised was lively we def going there again
