Fry-Inn in Cheshire West and Chester

Food always excellent from Fry Inn.

I ordered from this restaurant due to the delivery time saying 15-30 minutes. The time kept changing longer and longer. We ended up getting the food well over an hour after. When the food came it did not seem fresh and I suspect it had been sitting there waiting for a driver. I put in a complaint about it being cold to only get a very partial credit. I think I will be using Uber eats next time as I have experienced this issue with just eat on a couple of occasions now

Great fish and chips. Wide variety menu. Chinese is okay but expensive.

Delivery time kept being put back every time I looked. I would not have ordered if I’d known it would be 2.5 hours later than told initially.

delivery was over a hour agter the first time they said and when we did get the food it was all stone cold spent over 70 pound not happy at all

Chips were black unable to eat this. Fryinn seems to be getting worse standards have dropped. Also delivery man rang me saying he was outside my house to which he wasnt 15 minutes later he arrives trying to tell me it was a different place....no mate

Firstly, great food. Very good quality. Surprised by the bad reviews can only think that people may have ordered for delivery and that may be why the quality wasn’t great but I ordered for collection on a Friday evening and the food was brilliant. Ordered for collection for 6:20 but only walked out with the food at 6:45. It was very busy so will let them off. Still, it was worth the wait and I will for sure go back.

can’t believe the standard of food we have just had delivered. We had the salt and pepper chicken which used to be the best here. What came tonight was in a pinkish sauce and it was awful. Nothing at all like it used to be. I saw a comment that the although there are a new owners, they have the same se chef. No chance. We’ve never had anything so diabolical from here. Over cooked cold chips, cold lumpy and bland curry sauce. Last time for us. Really expensive as well. Shame but won’t use again.

Used to be one of the best takeaways in Chester. What happened? These are the mushed up prawns I got in my meal and the chips 🤢. The meal smelt off before I'd even unwrapped it

Awful delivery and awful food. Fish batter and chips were cold and chewy. Felt like it’s been warmed up from lunchtime. Can’t believe this was from my absolute favourite chip shop. So, so disappointed

Food was really bland especially the salt and pepper chicken the chips were just greasy and soggy worst food I have had from here ever and this is my go to place.

Salt and pepper chciken very large portion, hot spicy crispy and tasty with plenty of veg. Chips were proper chippy chips and really tasty. Would definitely order from again.

I’ve ordered for years and can’t believe what I have had tonight my sweet and sour if that’s how the new owners do it don’t bother as I have threw the whole lot in the bin

Ordered a take out tonight on line but still had to wait 40 minutes for it when I went to pick it up!! Food was only luke warm when we got it home & half the portion it used to be before it changed hands recently. Been regular customers here for a long time but I think it's now time to change our Friday night take out treat

The chips tasted as if they had been warmed up several times - poor.

Will give it 5 as i like the place and food normaly. Chips though need changing, quite thin / i may had near end of bag but they seemed thin in general

Best thing to happen to our chippy in years

Normally brilliant here but we were disappointed tonight. The chop suey roll was spicy which you don’t expect and I wouldn’t have ordered it if I’d known. A portion of chips were forgotten and when we called we were told we’d have to get a refund from Just Eat or go to the shop. Completely appreciate the order is delivered by Just Eat but it meant a incomplete meal and extra cost. Hoping it’s a one off as the Fry inn is our regular.

Delivery time kept changing. We have used the fry inn for years and it’s such a shame to see such a fab chippy go so downhill since it changed hands. We ordered 2 small fish and chips with an extra curry and with delivery it was £23. What we received was lukewarm. This fish was not great and the chips were undercooked. The curry had a layer of grease on the top and wasn’t nice at all. That was fry inns last chance for us and such a shame to turn our back on somewhere that’s been a go to for us

I go in at the weekend when the place was busy but not too busy. Must have said three times that I wanted a doner with all the salad, chips on the side (cos they go soggy imo) Get home and this is what I got. No pita or salad & chips dumped on top. New Fry Inn is rubbish Prices up, service down. Never had one bad takeaway with the old owners. First and last time for me.

Fish, chips and peas nowhere near usual high standard. Chips were scraps, fish greasy and peas very watery. As for the delivery it was truly awful. Driver demanding so much information you would think he was handing over the Crown Jewels! Awful experience where normally I have nothing but praise.

Prices up, portions down. If you order a small chips, check they haven't mistaken your request for a micro-portion. They'll charge the same, either way. A real pity as the family owners who previously ran the Fry-Inn gave great service and a product that was worth the cost.

Portions are tiny and kebab was mediocre!! Should have learnt my lesson the first time I visited and got ripped of then!! Never again 🫣🫣🫣🫣🫣

Deliverer refused to give meal without number, (1st time). As a stroke victim paralysed down one side I had to go back to my computer to retrieve the number while my meal was going cold. The meal I tried was not nice. Never again!

Crackers stale and crispy beef smelt like vinegar

Chips were missing from my order, phoned the restaurant and spoke to a lovely chap who got them brought straight out. Honest mistake put correct, difficult to find food places that rectify mistakes. Appreciated!

I watched the driver drive 15 mins away from the chip shop in the opposite direction, then 15 mins back and on to my address 5 mins away from chip shop. No wonder the food was cold and the chips were hard!!! Need to do better. We never had this problem under the previous owners!!!

hi I'm just messaging in regards to my food order last night , I ordered chicken curry and I was given beef curry which is not what I ordered as I'm unable to eat red meat

What's happened?? Items missing from my order once delivered and the salt and pepper chicken is now Aldi popcorn chicken covered in salt not the usual gorgeous chicken that it used to be. Gone downhill massively. After using here for years I'm now not entertaining it... disgusted. Still waiting for a phone call from you to explain my missing items !!!

Recently something's changed, prices have gone up and portion sizes have gone down... when a chip shop starts rationing potato it screams go buy somewhere else.

This chippy has been are chip shop for Mandy years. We love a Won ton soup but wow my husband took one taste and it was bad. I thought I would try mine yep correct it was awaful. Super dark not what is normally served and more salty than the ocean. Major improvement needed.

Food ordered chicken and black bean, fried rice, chips and spring rolls. Establishment wasn't busy. "Chicken" had an interesting texture, sauce was pitiful and veg in sauce was poor quality, spring rolls undercooked and not nice when eventually cooked properly at home, chips weren't good. Apparently under new management, staff were pleasant, although not a great start, I'll go elsewhere next time, sorry guys but eating out isn't cheap now and is a luxury so it needs to be right.

Such a shame that the quality has dropped massively. The food we had tonight was not good at all. The chips were greasy, undercooked and luke warm. The salt and pepper noodle box was burnt and the curry sauce had a layer of grease on the top. The food is ridiculously overpriced and not the fry inns normally quality. For the price, we will go elsewhere, which is a shame as we have been customers for years. We will go elsewhere going forward

Not sure if there is new management but the prices have increased significantly and the quality reduced. Disappointed… won’t be ordering again l.

When we saw that the fry inn was changing hands I was concerned as it’s one of our favourites. The food we have just had was quite frankly the best standard we have had in all our years of ordering. The fish & chips were lovely and the salt & pepper chicken was full of flavour and light and cooked really well. The hot curry has a real kick. I will say, the prices have very much increased. Our usual order has gone up by £5. The portions were generous though. Really impressed. Although expensive

Now renamed and Excellent food and efficient service 👌🏾 Some customers less so... Uncouth and Selfish and can't park for toffee.. Mainly because they are LAZY. Parking on double yellows, on the footpath and on the junction/corner... they should think on 🤔

food never turned up, phoned to complain was told "once it's left the shop they have no control over the delivery". Now having to go through just eat to try and get refund.

food was nice tbf but they forgot to put the hot sauce on my kebab which meant it was dry and and pretty tasteless, how you do that is beyond me I only ordered two things, do i trust them to get my next order right ?

The Salt and Pepper dish was nice, the chow mein was tasteless and watery but had plenty of meat

pretty bad quality chicken.. £8.50 for a kebab with what you're serving is crazy, you expect chicken breast pieces not that processed chicken block cut off a spit.....first and last order, i'd up your game guys

I didn't receive my order, issues with delivery address, driver called us at 7.20pm and we gave him the correct address he said "oh yeh I can see that" but we never received our order and he was 5 mons away! Called the takeaway that we ordered from and they explained that they have no control over the drivers - great so I lose £21.99?

We ordered salt and pepper chicken and crispy chilli beef with rice and wow, they were both AMAZING. Huge portions and full of flavour. This was our first time ordering but definitely won't be last, absolute class! 👌

I was missing a fish which is key with a fish and chip order. Phoned to say the fish was missing and last on phone was rude and said oh well next time your in say just say you had a issue, likes that’s ever going to happen. To add insult the chips, garlic mushrooms where stone cold. Not happy with this order at all!!
