Called in here last Saturday whilst on holiday in Frome. We were unable to have a meal at the pub next door so decided on cod and chips. What an inspired choice. It was without doubt the best piece of fish I have ever had

Moved to Frome over a year ago and there are a few chippys to chose from. We’ve tested all of them, but none of them are as good as this one. Spot on everytime!

10 portions of cod and chips, all beautifully cooked fish and fresh chips, good size portions and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend trying.

I am in my seventies and throughout my life have eaten fish and chips from many and varied outlets. Today I bought cod and chips for my husband and myself from Frome Traditional Fish and Chips and I can honestly say that the considerable plate of food was the VERY best fish and chips I can remember eating in my life! Shop really clean and bright and service exceptionally good. Well done, indeed!

Visited 3-4 times and each one has been excellent- chips are cooked well and the oil used really comes through nicely. Around £3 for a large portion which is a completely filled up rectangular box- good value.

This place beet took over by new couple, been in good few times now and you order food and cook fresh, it maybe not cheapest place in Frome but you get good amount food for money and nice hot as well

Whilst travelling in Somerset my husband and I called in to this shop for a light lunch. Truly, it was the best fish I have tasted in Ages. Such light batter, just lovely to eat. Added to this is the genuine people who run and serve in shop. So personable and obliging. Importantly, the shop is so clean, light and modern.

Passing through Frome and randomly picked Nook because of its proximity to where we parked. Was happily surprised by the ambience and food quality! It’s tiny inside so takeaway might be best for a large group. I’m from San Francisco and I felt like I was home…fresh, healthy, tasty lunch. Portion was just right. Yum!

We visited BDW's last year and it was fantastic so we returned this year with a group of friends. We were embarrassed at how bad the experience and service was this time. Lots not available on the menu, disinterested staff and serving average food. I wouldn't bother going back. Such a shame to see a great place go down hill.

I took my Mother for a Mother's Day lunch. The food and service was excellent but we were seated in the kitchen area where there are a couple of tables. Whilst this shouldn't be an issue, the room is quite narrow with staff passing and waiting at my shoulder. I also had a small digital radio playing at one end of the room and a bell for the chef's service behind me. If this room is to be used for dining more thought should be put into the environment we are seated in. In the meantime do not accept a table in the kitchen. (We also noted some people struggling to get up the narrow spiral metal staircase to the first floor room so bear that in mind too.)
