Nice breakfast and morning coffee

Food was great but risk of contamination. I eat a gluten free diet and the chef himself said that they use the same toaster for gluten free bread and other bread. So I won't be returning until after my pregnancy as I don't want to take the risk in my situation.

Come here every day cheeky bean have the best food and coffee and the people that work there have good vibes and energy and very friendly feel safe and comfortable here. Also has a talking cafe on Fridays. Very talented chefs here. Not one bad thing to say very satisfied

Always a warm welcome, usually busy, and bucking any downward trend, they have expanded! Another room added at ground level, new layout, furniture etc. In fine, warm weather it's great to sit outside, and watch “the world go by”. However there is a lot more seating inside. On 2 levels, so explore. Great for coffee, but also a good place to sample veggie/vegan food (although they have just updated their menu, not all veggie any more) for those that can’t give up bacon. And why not it's delicious and offered at reasonable prices. So go and enjoy “being Cheeky”

Went for breakfast, very expensive for food that was actually quite poor. Sausage were actually delicious and beans were good, bacon tasteless and overdone, mushrooms in a pool of their own juice and eggs were slimy. All fried food had the same overdone texture and inedible for my 6yo granddwith a wobbly tooth. There were customers with their dogs on the sofas next to people eating, and books on the shelves had mold on them where they were old and got damp. Nearly £50 for 2 breakfasts a bagel and 3 drinks....

Some of the best food I have ever eaten, coke rain or shine this place will put a smile on your face. The specials board is amazing, and the staff are even better!

Popped in for a bite to eat here and it was a great decision - really lovely atmosphere, staff and delicious sourbread toastie on a great corner spot in the town centre. Highly recommend for a lovely cafe stop!!

The perfect breakfast! The food is delicious here, I chose the egg and halloumi with avocado on sourdough bread with an earl grey. Really happy, attentive ladies serving us with a smile 😃 we chose the outside seating area, nice and relaxing setting in the heart of the town. We will be back, thank you ❤️

Absolutely fantastic food! First time to Shepton Mallet and made very happy by the warm, friendly atmosphere at the Cheeky Bean. I had the house burger, and fries and believe me when I say it was out of this world! Crispy fries, not soggy one's and a burger that I will never forget. My wife had the mezze platter from the specials board and again it got 10 out of 10, delicious foccacia, humus, couscous, olives, fresh salad and coleslaw. Fantastic, highly recommended 👌.

House pancakes with yoghurt, compote and honey was absolutely delicious. It’d be nice to have a slightly warmer experience at the counter but the service and everything else was good so we’ll definitely be back!

Lovely little cafe with great quality food. Locally sourced too! The iced coffee was really good and the staff were speedy and welcoming! A nice spot for breakfast. Salmon bagel with scrambled egg was very tasty!

My favourite cafe in Shepton. Excellent coffee. Lovely friendly staff and owner. Baby friendly with high chairs, toys, and books; the food is top notch and much is low salt and full of healthy veggies so ideal to share with a baby. Also very vegetarian and vegan friendly. Highly recommended.

Booked a special lunch for 12 ladies and the cheeky bean did not dissapoint!! Fabulous sandwiches, cakes were delicious and they could cater for any dietary requirements with ease. Lovely hot drinks (chai latte and hot chocolate highly recommended!!) Everyone was so complimentary and Steve and the team made us feel so welcome, even letting us stay an hour after closing. If you're in Shepton you would be mad not to pop in!!

What a nice cafe. Good atmosphere and service. I liked the coffee and the brownie. The cafe has a vegetarian menu and is pet friendly.

We needed to head to Shepton to pick something up and were shocked by the decline of the town centre since our last visit. So many shops closed down and barely anyone walking around the streets and it was a week before Xmas when you'd expect the place to be teeming. We looked about for food and there were very few decent looking options but then came across the cheeky bean. The food was delicious and the staff super friendly and the place just had a lovely atmosphere. I really hope it serves as a catalyst for the regeneration of the town centre. Will definitely return

Staff not very interested, we seemed a bit of an inconvenience. Coffee OK.

Service was a bit slow but as the cafe was hit with hordes of motorhome show goers descending on town and cafe it was to be expected. Really friendly staff with really good coffee was well worth it.

Travelled out of our way from Bristol to Wells for the prospect of a leisurely Sunday Veggie Brunch to find only a reduced lunch menu in operation with no Brunch items. The portion size of my quiche was very small for the price and it came with a "soggy bottom". The saving grace was the quality of the coffee but overall not worth the detour!

I can't believe I managed to walk to the car with this toastie without eating it.....it seriously smelled so good 😍 The service at The Cheeky Bean was exceptional, I wish I got the name of the server who took my order as they really went above and beyond with their customer service skills. Along with this, I didn't have to wait long at all and the cafe itself is cute, clean, bright and open 🌟 I'd recommend to anyone.

The best coffee in Shepton Mallet and it's great to sit outside in the warm weather. Interesting menu choices available for snacks and I recommend the French toast

Lovely food albeit very slow to arrive. Very cold inside and coffees were cold when toasties arrived after 20 mins even though it wasn't busy. Bit miserable down in the basement on our own in the cold. Also no cakes at 1.45pm! Bill was £21 for 2 toasties and 2 coffees. However toasties and coffees were good.

What a lovely place to come and visit, the staff, food and coffee (of course) are all fantastic with a relaxed, family friendly atmosphere where it's clear to see why people come back!

Vegetarian and vegan friendly cafe with so many delicious choices. I had the sweetcorn fritters which were gorgeous. My chai latte was easily the best one I've ever had, but unfortunately this meant I had to share it with both my kids. Lots of seating inside and out. Great cake choices too and service with a smile. Would definitely recommend a visit here.

Delicious food and drinks and great value and service

If there's a milk category, this place probably has it. Beef Milk, Oat Milk, Almond Milk, Coconut Milk. Milks of plentiful range. Staff wear crocs, so that's a bonus. 11/10

What a find! This cosy cafe serves the best coffee I have ever had. It is very dog friendly, the food so tasty and healthy (regular menu and daily specials) that I want to go back to try everything on the menu! The staff obviously love it there too and made me feel really welcome, so I shall definitely be returning. Thankyou from Sarah.. and Thor the puppy!!
