Frodsham's Grill Chester in Cheshire West and Chester

First time here, nicely decorated place and waiter was very pleasant. Adana kebab was very good but mix gril was disappointing. Wings were fried rather than grilled and meat was undercooked especially lamb. Rib was very chewy and chop was red from inside. Upon complaining they said they could cook the undercooked parts again instead of offering a replacement. Chef should improve cooking skills. Disappointing experience as prices are not cheap!!

The grilled meats and hummus were fantastic. Really well marinated and seasoned. Even the bread with the hummus was very tasty. Manager could’ve been a bit more attentive, and the place was a bit cold, although it was -2 outside. Would def recommend. Would recommend.

We walked in at lunchtime while walking around Chester on a visit and very glad we did. They have small and large portion options which is a great idea and good value. We had the lamb chops and chicken İskender. Young man looking after our table had lovely manners and was attentive. Great service and delicious food.

This Restaurant was an extremely disappointing experience. The place is very unhygienic—kitchen standards are severely lacking, and it’s clear they don’t prioritize cleanliness. On top of that, they reuse cooking oil for long periods, which is concerning for health. The atmosphere felt unprofessional, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for a reliable dining experience. There are much better options out there .

Visiting Chester for the night with my Son, we spotted Frodsham’s walking around had a look at the menu and thought we’d give it a try. I got the large mixed Shish and my son got the pepperoni pizza. Both were great. The service was great and the food was fresh and hot. The decor was nice and it had a really nice atmosphere and Mediterranean vibe. £38 for the two of us including the service charge was good value

We got there just before the kitchen closes around 9:30 and we really appreciated them keeping it open till we ordered. We ordered 2 mixed grills which contained chicken and lamb skewers about 4 large pieces vermacelli rice half tortilla and salad. The food came out quick about 10 mins but it was not tasty at all, it was very bland no flavour no seasoning on, it was basically just pain grilled food. The lamb was tough and not easy to eat very chewy. We ordered one of the mixed grill spicy and got 2 very small pots of chilli sauce. Also ordered a milkshake and one flavour they could make that time was strawberry and this was this was basically syrup and milk. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant for its food but the atmosphere and staff were nice.

Appalling - main meal whipped up within 5 minutes and nothing as described... cook shouting across the restaurant to diners. Tasted unfresh and offal-like with ketchup / hot- sauce base.

Quite a lovely place near the city centre. 5* for the service and atmosphere. Our starters ( Pacanga Pastry and tzatziki) were very good, authentic Turkish draft Efes very refreshing and good quality. For the main my husband's Adana Kebab again was really tasty but my lamb moussaka tasted like there was no meat in it and I also couldn't see any. The waiter thought confirmed that there isn’t any mistake and this wasn't the vegetarian version of it. We lived in Turkey for a while and moussaka has always been my favourite, I definitely know the taste of the lamb ones so was a little bit disappointed. Baklava - this was really good but the Turkish tea is not served ready to drink like served in Turkey, you have to wait for it to get brewered in the pot.

Go here if you want to wait hours for your food. Got our starter and coffees but a couple of 4, who came in 20mins before us got there food 1st and we were still waiting, so we paid our bill and left without eating our main... Disgraceful. Wouldn't recommend.

Good food, BYOB - Tescos 2 minutes away.

The mixed sharer for 2 was incredible. They cook all their meats over real coal which gives it that real smokiness you’d expect from a Turkish grill. Great staff too

Went there tonight first time pleasant atmosphere and very clean waitress took our meal order I asked for a beer no beer 😱 But she said I could go to Tesco opposite to get a drink went back bottle of wine Mrs had her cappuccino and there was a glass for me , meal was cooked fresh and was Very tasty we fully enjoyed our meal , told that if we came again we could bring our own drinks, WE WILL BE BACK 😁 BEST FOOD TASTED 😘

Used to love this place when it was called Ephesus Grill and it was my favourite place for special occasions but went recently and it just wasn’t the same - we asked if they had beer and where given a very firm NO from the lady serving us who had little English and poor girl struggled, food wasn’t as good but still fab though but as we used to go for the wine, Efes beer and food - we won’t be going back unfortunately.

What a wonderful surprise this place was! I had the lentil soup and it was perfect! Great portions- I was so jealous of all the other diners that I wanted to try everything they had too. Lovely waiting on staff. And complimentary bread, hummus and tzatziki, thank you 😊

Last week, I had my lunch at Frodsham's Grill in Chester where I ordered their Lamb Quzi and Chicken Curry. Let me tell you, the portions were huge; served with rice. The food was absolutely amazing. The Lamb Quzi was tender and flavorful, and the Chicken Curry was filled with delicious spices. For the price they charge, this is a nothing less than a treat! I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of the food and would highly recommend Frodsham's Grill to anyone looking for some delicious Mediterranean cuisine in Chester!!

Sadly we had a very poor experience here. The young Indian waitresses were helpful, lovely and utterly blameless. What food we eventually got was appalling, the table full of teen gangsta wannabes were loud and unpleasant and our main was nowhere to be seen after 75 minutes so we paid our dues and left.

I saw this new restaurants had opened in Chester and and great reviews, so I thought I would check it out, and the reviews were spot on, me and my father went there this afternoon and we couldn’t fault it, the food and service was amazing , we both had soup of the day, what was lentil soup with some lovely warm bread, and I had a mixed shawarma and the chef even made a mint yogurt sauce, only because I asked if they had any and my dad had a lamb shawarma that come with fresh salad and rice, there was loads I had to ask them to put it in a takeaway box because I couldn’t finish it all, but didn’t want to leave it, because it was so good, I would 100% recommend this place and will definitely be going back again.

Food was disgusting. Ordered sizzling mix of beef and chicken; arrived luke warm with hardly any meat and veg in soup like sauce. Prawns with garlic - hardly any garlic, prawns were not hot either and tasteless. I didn't want to argue as it was my birthday lunch, but this venue should be ashamed!

Looks like the management has changed and they try to run on good reviews from the previous ‚Ephesus Grill’ establishment. The vibe in the restaurant is no longer the same. It’s cold inside. Prices have increased. Chefs rudely stare at you. The new establishment Frodshams Grill doesn’t sell beer & alcohol anymore. I do not recommend and will never come again. Disappointed!

We had a lovely meal here. The service was excellent, our waitress was very sweet. The food was beautifully cooked to order, taking into account our preferences.

I recently visited Frodsham’s Grill with my family and the whole experience was remarkable. The food was halal and fresh, and grilled to perfection. The staff was very nice and attentive. They dont serve alcohol but they make up for it with their beautiful milkshakes. All in all an excellent trip. Would definitely go back. 10/10!

First people in and after an hour we got told no one actually put our order through. When we paid for our flat drinks and left the owner sarcastically thanked us. Absolute clown show. Ephesus was always very good and we assumed this was just a name change. It’s not. Don’t waste your time; the reviews from a few months ago don’t reflect this new joke of a restaurant.

Best place for halaal grill. Lamb, chicken n veggies grilled to the perfection. Succulent and juicy! Very nice service and Mohammed is a very charming man. Absolutemy loved his company with us followed by turkish tea. Cheers ! Loved it !

Food was sub standard,the service was just ok and there was no atmosphere as there was only myself and my wife and one other couple in the restaurant..you could offer me a free three course meal and I would not go back..avoid.

My wife and I visited Chester for a few days, and this place was the highlight. Fresh food full of flavour. The customer service was top notch, we were well looked after. At times the food can take a bit of time to come out, however it is well worth the wait. Plus, this shows how fresh the food being made is. I highly recommend this restaurant ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Food doesn’t have much spice. And lamb chops was way to fatty and have very over powering meaty smell due to less spice may be. Food was overall decent and you can come with family. Service and waiter are very very nice and courteous.

Nice environment, high quality food with decent quantity, reasonable price. Top class service from the waitresses. Recommend trying wings, lamb chops and curry. We tried the chicken curry and was worried that the chicken would be overcooked and turn dry like most other restaurants. However, it really suprise me with how well the chicken was cooked and a suprise curry flavour differ from Indian, Japanese and Thai curry. The only shame is that no alcohol was available when I was there.

Staff were pleasant but the breakfasts were awful. Toast was clearly stale bread and only toasted on one side. Fried eggs were slimy and not cooked properly. When asked for them to be more well done they were just microwaved on the plate with the rest of food. Sausages were literally raw and looked grey as tho they had been put on a grill for a few minutes to add a touch of brown. Bacon was mostly fatty rind and tasted odd. £25 for 2x breakfast a glass of flat coke and a cup of tea.....stick to Greg's, guys....which is where we are heading now as we couldn't eat mosy of what we got :(

Starters and waitress were great. Iskender was cold, I asked to reheat it without making a fuss but owner came over to tell me it’s cold because of the yoghurt on top. My husband had a donner which was equally cold but he was too polite to send it back. I have had Iskender many times before and it has never been served cold. If I had not been patronised in asking to reheat the food I would not have left this review.

We have ordered food from the restaurant with UberEats. Tried variety of different food, espacially chicken shish was very delicious. There were missing items in the package I called the restaurant staff (a lady) was very kind and they send extra items after as a compensation. Thank you for that.
