No volveremos.

Popped in on way back from visiting Beatrix Potter's Hill Top. It's a tiny out of the way ta room with just a couple of tables in doors and some outdoor seating. Nice section of cakes & nibbles. We just had a cuppa and a latte. I write this review because the cup of tea was served in clear glass jar with handle and the milk presented in a small clear glass milk bottle that evoked memories of my milk at prep school. It was fun and different and it made me smile. A very large cup of tea for a very thirsty rambler! Coffee was good too but the tea I shall remember for a long time! Seek out this little gem for the biggest cup of tea in the lakes!!

Superb spot to find at the end of a walk. Great selection of food and drink at a fair price with friendly service too.

Great setting. Very friendly service. Lots of nice touches. But we thought it was too pricey given that the scones were not 100% fresh.

Take the Cross Lakes ferry from pier 3 at Bowness or go cheap on the chain ferry, then its a very pleasant 2 mile walk to Frithy's - just long enough to stoke up the hunger. There are plenty of signs to guide on the way. We had soup and a avocado salad bap. Simple food well prepared and keen prices. Two small tables inside and a few in the outside garden. Vegetarian options available. Also locally-made preserves to buy. Recommended.

Slightly off the B5285 is the small tea room named "Frithy's". The owner was very friendly and helpful and we ordered freshly cooked jacket spuds with tea and cakes. There is also an outside seating area and space to park bicycles where you can keep an eye on them.

We were a large party of 12 but unfortunately no-one can book a table on a Sunday! This is rare these days as people like to plan their mel times. We knew this is advance as we had been before. We waited for a short while and then the table was ready. This wasn't 1 table but we were spread across 3 separate tables which couldn't be put together and some had to sit elsewhere. This happened last time and this time we thought they would only allocate eating when it was ready for the whole party. Most went for the carvery. The vegetables were very good and the turkey really moist but the beef was so tough that you really needed a steak knife to cut through it. Overall a disappointing experience based upon the service, food quality and price/value for money.

2 night stay at the hotel with tasting menu the first night and breakfast both days. Views are incredible and can be seen from the front of the hotel, outside seating area, some of the indoor breakfast tables and some of the hotel rooms. Our hotel room was a double room (fell view), lovely sunrise view from the large windows, plenty of space and storage, comfy bed. The full English breakfast was lovely. Tasting menu had 5x courses plus bread and canapés. Delicious meal and staff very friendly. Lovely lounge area with topped up fire place. Good location for getting to Windermere and around during the day by a short car journey. My one pointer would be the heating in the bathroom was stuck on full blast, I appreciate these old places are prone to damp but it did feel a bit wasteful. Overall lovely stay and will be back

Just popped in for coffee. Good friendly service and very nice coffee, priced as you would find elsewhere. Didn't eat but the display of pies and cakes looked tempting. Gluten free cakes available as well.

Good, old fashioned tea room. Warm and cosy. Good tea in a massive tea pot. Excellent toasted tea cake. In contrast to some of the recent reviews, we found them very friendly (and have on previous visits). It is up for sale. Hope the new owners don't change it too much!
