Ive been staying here 2 nights and Chris and the staff are absolutely fantastic Chris has gone beyond what I’d expect. The people giving it negative reviews must have been doing something seriously wrong

Terrible experience very impatient owner(Chris)we previously got a drink but met up with friends on entry we got stopped by people talking to us, a couple of us got drinks n was having a smoke before we could enter n get more drinks we was approached by drunk owner who told some of us to “piss off” even though we was silent and waiting for our friends to finish their cigarettes to go inside very rude. Terrible owner. Do better.

Owner told me to piss off when sat with friends because I hadn’t bought a drink, I had only just arrived and was happy to buy a coke as I don’t drink alcohol, DO NOT go here if you are a younger person owner doesn’t like new or young customers

Wonderful breakfast, customer service was great and the ambient very pleasant. Definitively going again.

Great place for catching up with mates and watching sports on multiple televisions, plus the bonus of free food. Landlord and staff friendly.

We had our son’s 18th birthday party here today and it was brilliant. The food was delicious. Great music. Amazing atmosphere. Staff are excellent too. Thanks to Chris the landlord for making it perfect.

We have Breakfast there on 3 occasions always freshly cooked, even the small is large. Good nicely cooked very tasty.

Fabulous old school pub - warm welcome, great service, meticulously clean and excellent value. Enormous bacon roll with big mugs of tea for breakfast - [coffee is the only disappointment]

We had our works Christmas do breakfast last week, Dec 2024, warm friendly welcome, fantastic fresh cooked food, great tea and coffee and the price was fair.. Deffo book for next year - Cheers to the landlord and staff

A proper traditional pub, not one of those chains of pubs that are mere facsimiles of a pub. I didn't stay in one of the rooms but I did enjoy a good wholesome meal!

Very friendly lady, clean toilets and nice ambience. Food was OK.

My sister and I called in for breakfast. The staff were pleasant, and the breakfast we're well cooked and plentiful. It is the first time I have been in here for breakfast. And thoroughly enjoyed it. My sister has been before and recommended it. I will certainly call him again in the near future. The only reservation I had was where we were situated it was very dark, and this was mid-morning.

Friendly host Chris made an easy check in. Very welcoming. Food and bar staff outstanding. Life changing fry up on check out.

Wow... what a refurbishment. The place looks like new. Fresh, contemporary. More TV's for sports coverage. Great atmosphere. I'm just a local... no use of the Inn accommodation (so unable to comment directly). But got talking to sometime that stopped in Gloucester overnight having a long journey from Cornwall to Lancashire. Dog friendly Pub and Inn.

Went for breakfast on Friday, lovely, fresh cooked and reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

The place has recently as of 2024 had a slight revamp and tidy up. So far their looking after ales has improved as well.

A proper pub that sells food rather than a licensed restaurant that happens to have a bar. Good value, proper pub grub and good portions so come hungry! Make sure to check the specials board too. Outside seating at the front and I'm told the garden out the back is lovely too, didn't see it on our visit because the weather wasn't great. Nice large car park on the other side of the road. Events/parties catered for to so I'm told. Worth a visit 👍🍻 *** BREAKFAST UPDATE *** The breakfasts are awesome and exceptional value for money I think! 2x full breakfasts with a pot of tea and a pot of coffee (3 full mugs from each pot) plus 4 slices of toast for £20.90p ! *** Update August 6th 2023 *** Popped in today to try the Sunday Roast. Once again, fab service and friendly staff. I don't normally have the roasts when we're out but Friar Tucks came highly recommended and as our last visit was so good we thought we'd try it. We had the Roast Pork and Roast Chicken and it was delicious! It felt and tasted like proper home cooked food! Give it a go I don't think you'll be disappointed. *** Update March 3rd 2024 *** Visited for Sunday lunch again, bring your appetite! Still great food, still friendly service and still brilliant value. Love it. Book in advance!

Great pub with excellent food and drink. Lots of parking spaces across the road. Plenty of TVs to watch sport on with a really good atmosphere.

Decided to visit somewhere different but still local for a Sunday roast - food was lovely, very homely! Had plenty of gravy and extra side veg as they had some leftover before shutting up the kitchen. We will definitely be returning to try their breakfast menu.
