Fresco in Sutton

This has been in WP for years but I haven’t been until this summer. Amazing Italian ice cream and amazing cookie dough. I’m sure that the crepes and others will be just as good. While you can get main meals here the menu is quite expensive. Still I would recommend for a quick pudding or a sweet treat on a hot day.

My wife took our children a couple of weeks ago for a gelato as a treat. At the counter, the server didn’t place the ice cream in the cone properly and as it was handed to my youngest the ice cream fell to the floor. The server replaced the ice cream, and my wife (assuming it was a complementary scoop) thanked them. Only after leaving the store did she realise that she’d been charged twice, including for the dropped ice cream. This wasn’t made clear at all at the time. My wife complained online but didn’t hear anything back. Today I happened to be in Worcester Park and popped in to see what they had to say. The staff on the counter were very defensive after I had explained what had happened and pointed to a notice on the counter which explains they would charge in such circumstances. I asked them to get their manager to call my wife but again no response was forthcoming. A shame as we always try and support local independents where we can, and we had a good experience on our 2 previous visits. On principle I won’t be going back there.

I have been to this place often, has very nice food and different from other places. I have had some high and low visits when it comes to waiting time as staff seems to be the most in their own. But I can’t fault the food as always been delicious and the staff is always polite and we can see they try their best even when overworked. I will keep on going back

They open 20 mins late! we went gor a walk up the highstreet waited for over half then came back to the caffe to have breakfast. we were severed Coffee after half an hour after we ordered. then an hour later the food followed. Upon request for hot drinks to be replaced the staff has a morning at us for not telling her that we wanted our food all at once. Bearing in mind we came at 11am and we were given our food at 12.30pm 1 and half hour of waiting. Food was delicious, extremely slow service 😑

Excellent local cafe. We go every week. Great range of tasty food and nice coffee. Good food and drink for kids as well. Would recommend.

This cafe is very close to where I live in Worcester Park and has excellent coffee, mocha and my favourite breakfast eggs benedict. It is the best coffee in the high street, but expensive, ie £4.30 for a large cafe mocha. But, never disappointed. However, my last three visits it is obvious that it is very under staffed. One of either two young girls on their own, taking orders, making the coffee and the food and then delivering to the tables. They have never complained and just get on with a very hard job. There are long delays for food and coffee for this reason, and not the staffs fault, they are run off their feet. I hope that they are paid well, and I would like to know where the managers and or the owners are? This is too much work for one person behind the counter doing everything, and if the owners do not sort this situation out, they are going to lose business. Such a shame. I hope the situation improvess.

Great food and coffee and fab staff - so great to have this on our high street! Can’t fault it after visiting 4 times now. The pain is and wraps excellent and coffee milkshakes great too

Really disappointed with our visit as this is the 2nd time of coming here - tables not cleaned or cleared. It isn’t a big cafe & have not been busy on both occasions. Have ended up cleaning the table ourselves on both occasions. Unlikely to visit again, which is a shame, as it’s a great concept for the high street however the staff really let this place down due to the cleanliness & not very welcoming

This cafe opened in Worcester Park in summer 2023 but has another established branch in Wallington Square. I like to give local, new enterprises my custom and bought some slices of cake just on a Sunday morning just after it had first opened. The gentleman who served me didn't appear to know what he was doing but I gave him the benefit of the doubt as he appeared to be being "trained". Surely, staff should be ready, confident and able as soon as a new etablishment is opened. Furthermore, I thought the prices were too high. I visited again recently, for coffee with a friend, and hoped the service would be better. Unfortunately, it wasn't. It took at least five attempts for my friend to get them to understand my order - a skimmed oat milk latte. When it was served, it was in the same small cup as a normal coffee and plainly the (oat) milk had been added cold. Similarly, her order for a bacon roll took a few attempts. Her roll wasn't particularly great. As my drink had been cold, I ordered some teas and unsurprisingly, that took some conveying. The staff were pleasant and generally smiley, but it would be great if they could grasp the order at the first attempt . Also, as there were no other customers in the venue, ,they stood behind the counter and it felt as if we were being looked at the whole time. I know that there will be people who will rave about this place, but I'm very sorry, but I won't be making a return visit, but may try the Wallington venue.
