Fratelli in Central Bedfordshire

Nice venue but incredibly slow service, various missing items on the menu. After an hour and a half after arriving we had only had olives and breads served. Portion sizes varied - some were huge others were tiny and insufficient. A shame as won’t be rushing back.

We enjoyed the takeaway pizzas and they were delicious! Looking forward to retuning as a dine in guest - venue looks very chic

Seen this beautiful restaurant last time I was in the area, so I had to book on my return. I treated my brother in law and his partner as they live in Luton to say thank you. On arrival we was greated by the manageress Milena who was very pleasant. She took us to our lovely table, loved the touch for her taking our coats so we sit comfortably. Ben was our waiter on the night. He was very good and looked after us throughout the night The atmosphere was fantastic, definitely can tell this is a very liked restaurant. In regards to the food, all the courses was stunning. The ingredients, flavours presentation 10/10. We were all very impressed and most definitely returning very soon.... PS must mention Tian, Christina and Sophie. All was part of the service team. Well done to all involved and keep up the great work.

Lovely meal…. The selection here is vast and really is hard to pick as it all looks great. The service is fast and very friendly. The quality of the food is certainly there and it’s not the cheapest but it’s worth the money. The drinks selection is very good, wine selection is very good and if you fancy a cocktail your get one here. Well done, we will certainly be coming back👍👍👍👍 5 out 5 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹

A very lively atmosphere and some good food. But be careful what you order as you won't necessarily receive the dish you expected! My partner ordered risotto GamBeroni, but was served another risotto dish minus the prawns. The plate was sent back and was later returned with a plate of risotto loaded with very hot chili, and was virtually inedible. It was only at the third attempt that my partner finally was served with the risotto GamBeroni. The staff were full of apologies, but the delays with my partner's meal ruined the evening, i.e. I had finished my calzone pizza before her meal was served. No consideration was offered by the restaurant and we were expected to pay the full price for the disrupted dinner - very disappointing.

Very happy! Lovely lunch with my friend, great cocktails & food and even better service. Really nice atmosphere and we left there suitably stuff…..and a little bit wobbly hehe, but when the cocktails are that good you can’t just have one haha! Thanks to all the staff for a great meal

As per past visits the food was excellent as was the service. We'll be back. We had lunch for my wife's birthday. The pizzas, pasta, salads, even the salted rosemary fries were excellent. I strongly recommend this restaurant and have yet to have anything but great food and service.

First visit and it definitely won’t be my last! Lovely, authentic, home cooked Italian food. I really like that in the restaurant you can watch the chefs cook your meal whilst you wait. I had calamari for starters and it was overdone which was a shame. However, my main course really made up for it. I had the chicken breast, with mushrooms and potatoes. It was delicious. Had a really nice flavour to it and portion size was very good. I had salted caramel cheese cake for desert which was also very good! We also had some birthdays in the group. They helped us celebrate with a sparkler and plate saying happy birthday with a shot of Limoncello for each of us. This really made our night special. We can’t wait for another visit soon.

Ambience on the noisy side. Why do groups of 4 people need to shout at each other across relatively small tables. Flavours in the food were relatively good as described in menu. Key ingredients in the dishes and dessert portion sizes were skimped in the extreme. Ingredients in "Orata alla Sicilianna" , Pan fried sea bass fillet ( approx 150 G) , with herb crusted potatoes ( approx 100 G ), roasted Marzanino tomatoes ( 4 very small marble sized tomatoes), garlic lemon and extra virgin oil dressing. We can buy this quantity and quality of ingredients for less than £4.00. Fratelli's menus price £ 18.95 !!! " Papardelle Salmone" Smoked salmonwith leeks and onions in a cream white wine sauce, topped with wild rocket" Really was hunt the salmon, and overall ingredients cost got to be less than £3.00. Fratelli's menus price £ 14.95 !!! Draw you own conclusions on excessive mark ups. We challenge Fratelli's to dispute & justify these estimated buy in costs and what looks like a typical x 5 mark up from cost to selling. Initial reception was fairly friendly and efficient. Initial ordering ok, further ongoing attention and final atempt to settle bill painfully patchy and slow. Note the waitress offer "Parmingiano" free in pretty small pots ( ~20g) to accompany main courses. Note they say "Parmingiano " not " Parmigiano Reggiano" which is a very different animal. Note ALDI sell the real thing " Parmigiano Reggiano" for less than £3.00 for 200g, last purchased by us about 2 weks ago. Perhaps Fratelli could clarify if their offering is Parmigiano Reggiano. We would not rush to go there again.

Authentic Italian food. Friendly, helpful and thoughtful staff. Delicious food, big portions with a decent price. 241 cocktails 🍸 were yummy.. especially the French martini. When we arrived a staff member greeted us ans said where we celebrating anything, as we replied yes, it was my birthday Last week. At the end of the meal they came out with a sparkling candle with 'happy birthday' written in chocolate with a limencello shot while singining happy birthday. It was such a lovely touch. Made my evening. I'd definitely recommend the restaurant.

A group of us went for Sunday lunch. The food was exceptional as was the service. Would recommend and would go again.

Great selection on the menu that surely caters for most people. Kids had pizza, adults delightful pasta. Everyone left happy. Five people, starters ,main courses, desserts, mostly soft drinks. Bill came to £200 including service charge. We even gave a second tip by mistake, but didn’t mind as it was that good

Wow the reviews are correct! Booked last minute after being in the area for a spa session at Centre Parcs. Parked in the pay & display behind the restaurant as advised on their website which was mega helpful given we didn’t know the area. Staff were extremely polite & attentive, food was amazing particularly the goats cheese starter with the balsamic beetroot, my daughter & I were talking about it all the way back to Essex! Reasonable cost & I liked they put service charge on bill, saves working out a tip to leave. Would definitely return.

Overly expensive for what it is. Spaghetti with crab was just spaghetti with almost zero crab. Waitress was just appalling all evening. If you are going to charge these prices you need to improve the food and service. Having eaten regularly at the Frattelli Woburn restaurant regularly this isn’t in the same league . We came here for my Partner's birthday. We aren't local to the area, we were staying close by after visiting the Aqua Sana in Woburn and I wanted to end the time with a nice meal. I purely chose to visit this Restaurant based on the reviews I had read. I can happily tell you they did not disappoint! My Partner dislikes tomatoes and one of the things I loved about this place is the varied selection, he for once had too many options to choose from and was struggling to decide. He loved the food he did. Specially loved the Tiramisu, he is very picky when it comes to this dessert, he loves one that is alcoholic and not just a hint. This dessert lived up to what he wanted from a Tiramisu. I really enjoyed all my dishes too I cannot recommend this place enough, if we were local, we would definitely make this a regular visit. If we were to ever be back in the area we would be sure to visit.

Ordered a delivery involving chicken, mushrooms, potatoes, cream, prawns, tomatoes, pasta, garlic bread, cheese and other stuff. It was just fabulous, arrived on time, was great value and helped us forget COVID for an hour or so. It was a birthday celebration and we loved it.

I have never been to a restaurant where the front of house has been so rude. Allotted time of 1 1/2 hours for dinner is fine, when you have lots of staff serving. Me and my partner had 1 course during that time. I asked for one last drink and paid the bill and then a few minutes before 7 requested to move tables. I politely asked if I could have 5 more minutes to finish my drink (I had half a pint left) and complained that I waited an hour for my main. No apology just “please move to the other table”. Embarrassed and humiliated. At a time when restaurants are struggling and you offer this kind of service.

We visited last night as a table of 4... firstly I’d like to commend fratellis for the safe and secure environment, hand sanitizing stations on arrival, all tables separated by Perspex screens which didn’t impact on the atmosphere at all, a one way system around the restaurant to the rest rooms. As part of the shielded community this was my first time “out out” for a very long time and I have to say I felt so safe.Our waitress Sophia was amazing, and the service she provided was second to none... she’s an absolute asset to this business!Our meals were quickly bought to our table, hot and delicious.. this establishment really does go above and beyond to exceed your expectations.The owner Carmello took the time to personally have a chat with us ... what a great guy!We highly recommend this restaurant and will be returning again very soon!Thankyou fratellis for looking after is so well!

The owners are an incredible mix of passion, talent and love for their restaurant. The staff is really expert and kindly. We ordered a take away online for my husbands birthday. I decided to collect to take advantage of the 20% discount. It was great. Tasty, fresh and authentic. My husband and I visited a few years ago, before my daughter came along. It was lovely again. Would highly recommend their take away service. Visited in September 2020 during Covid-19 restrictions. The restaurant was half full due to the guidelines, but the atmosphere was vibrant. Service was excellent. Our waitress was attentive and attended to any needs quickly and efficiently. The four of us had varied dishes but all were prepared to a very high standard. My favourite was Caserecce Giorgio as a main. Delicious, fresh and very hot. This is my second visit and if anything it was better than the previous visit. Highly recommended

Wow! The best meal out in a long time, we had starters and mains and weren’t disappointed, service was fantastic a lovely lady who really looked after us as well as the host Tom who kept checking we were ok. Will definitely go back!

I went to this restaurant on a busy Saturday night. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. I don’t usually like it when a restaurant adds the service charge (I always feel that if the waiting staff know they are getting the tip anyway, they don’t work so hard) however in this case it was well deserved, the waiting staff were very attentive and friendly. Will certainly be back soon!

Nice to have space between us and the next diners (CIVID is not all bad).... In a nutshell, the service was great and the food was excellent - hats off to our young server who did a great job.The one way system in the restaurant just does not work - staff all over the place and diners not bothering to adhere.Also watching the staff on the very busy takeaway service, handling boxes, not washing hands and placing finger over end of the pizza dressing to shake it was interesting to watch.Times are hard at the moment but the busy turnover of diners and takeaways speaks volumes for the quality of the food....

For the second week running, we have enjoyed a home delivery from Fratelli and the food and service have been excellent. The Linguine Frutti di Mare is a-maz-ing and the smell and taste transported me to a favourite holiday destination in Portugal (sorry, not Italy). My husband enjoyed Linguini Carbonara and Poppette and of course, the desserts were delicious. We’re not quite ready to return to a restaurant but please keep up this excellent home delivery, Fratelli!

Since lockdown we have been regulars for Fratellis takeaways. Some favourites are pizzas and pasta melanzane but the absolute favourite is linguine gamberetti followed by a delicious pannacotta. The food is always on time (we collect but they do deliver) piping hot and served with a smile

We’ve eaten here many times so decided to try the takeaway service in these challenging times.Food was lovely, service slick with food ready at the time on our order. I’d suggest leaving a door open to avoid having multiple people touching the handles to get in, but otherwise social distancing for customers seemed pretty good, for a collection anyhow.A treat for us and more than happy to support a local business. After calling on the 10th Feb to book the private widow table I was looking forward to enjoying a fine lunch with family on the 14th at Fratelli Ampthill My best laid plans were not to be however as upon arrival we noticed people sitting in the table we had reserved. We entered and were met by Milana who told us that we should sit at a different table by the window on the left. I said to her that we had called and reserved the table on the other side, without even apologising she replied we have prepared this table for you as we were a party of 5. We had sat at our usual table many times before and in a group of 5 with no problem. This was not the greeting and level of service I have been used to or expected from Fratelli in Ampthill.The table is right next to the main door so there is a constant flow of people making noise and letting in the air on what was a cold day. It’s the exact opposite of what we reserved. Her attitude was very abrupt and not welcoming or accommodating at all, after a few minutes sitting down we decided to leave as we felt very uncomfortable.As a regular customer this was most disappointing all our previous visits had been most enjoyable. So much effort had been made by staff in the past but unfortunately this has soured the experience and we will not be returning. Luckily we found a lovely pub at The White Heart just around the corner where they were most welcoming and served fantastic food.

In these challenging times Fratelli are still able to provide a takeaway service so we decided to treat ourselves to pizzas last week.(Before UK was in ‘lockdown’) I’m not the worlds biggest pizza fan but that’s what the kids chose and it was their treat. I’m so glad they did!!!! It was the best pizza I’ve had outside Italy! Very impressed with the ordering - it was explained when order would be ready and that we could wait inside restaurant (one person) sat at a table appropriate and controlled distance from others. Collection was very swift. Pizzas were amazing!! Please support local business’ trying to stay afloat in these difficult days - they deliver!! (I haven’t given 5 stars as I felt they were a little on the pricey side, and though we only live 3/4 mins away by car, the pizzas weren’t that warm by the time we got home; maybe take an insulated food bag if you have one pizza box size?????!!)

The food was okay, everything tasted the same really as many different meals were cooked in the same sauce. I my self work in an Italian restaurant and we serve most of what the serve however I thought it was rather bland. Everything was over priced, my glass of coke cost £4.95 which is outrageous.

We have been coming here for a number of years for various birthdays and they never disappoint. Excellent, friendly service combined with good, reasonably priced food together with a nice buzzy atmosphere keeps enticing us back!We ate on a Tuesday evening and it was full, which is testament to Fratellis' reputation and delivery of a great eating experience.

Really lovely and relaxing place to eat. Great choice of food with a varied menu. Given we had 10 of us, food was quick and to a high standard. The staff are friendly but could do with being a little more attentive - asking for quite a lot rather than being offered. Would definitely go again.

I have been to Fratellis Cicchetti so many times & have always had an amazing meal, I have never experienced the Sunday Roast, the meat, potatoes, veg & Yorkshire puddings were all perfect, the starters & deserts were equally amazing. We had a table of 8 & all of us were blown away by Cicchetti Roast - the service & ambience 100% as always

This is my first time visiting cicchetti this evening and unfortunately will be my last. I visited with two friends and we had a seat by the kitchen, which was fine but we felt over looked. Following this, we also felt that because we were younger (all aged 22), that we were not given the same attention as other customers, my friend who was on her third visit felt like this the previous two visits also. The meal itself was largely disappointing, especially the Melanze which was cold in the middle and when asked to heat it up was still cold and no one came back to ask how it was - extremely disappointing, it was also far too stodgy and rich. At the end of our meal my friends each asked for an espresso martini where the order was forgotten and the waitress interrupted my friend when she asked where they were. I wish now I would have said something before I paid the bill. I was expecting an exceptional meal considering the standard of fratellis but I only hope that this will improve over time and hopefully the menu will mature. However the atmosphere was nice, but the food and service for us let it down considerably. Have posted on fratellis page as not one yet for cicchetti.

Amazing meal in Cicchetti tonight thanks to our amazing waiter Sam who was attentive and smiley all evening

Booked for dinner with a friend and was not disappointed. The hostess took time to talk through the speicals and the recommended wine prior to our looking at the menus. Our waiter arrived promptly to take our order and our starter then appeared within a few minutes! We both had the Tricolore salad which was refreshing with incredibly creamy mozzarella! Our plates were then whisked away and our mains arrived quickly! I had the Pollo Pesto and my friend a pizza. Both were delicious and a good size, I ate every last piece. Three scoops of ice cream to finish off ended an excellent meal. The sevice was overly attentive so it felt rushed and rather like the second you finihsed eating the plate was taken away! I love efficient sevice but here should be a balance so you don't feel like you are beung rushed out!

We’ve ate downstairs in the main restaurant a couple of times which is always amazing. We tried what we thought was tapas.. in my experience tapas is £5 -6 pound per little dishes to try, which then the waiter went on to explain some dishes are smaller then others and he will let us know once we’ve chosen. Which is a weird concept when you think about it as it’s really a gamble on what is bigger the other dishes.

Arrived early and were accommodated in the bar upstairs. Prompt and attentive service in a relaxed environment. With a fussy teenager and ceoliac in the group menu choices can often be daunting but there was something for all without any fuss. The quality of the food was fantastic with empty plates all round, portion size was well matched too. Would definitely head there again, lovely setting for a group but head upstairs for a more intimate setting I think

quite disappointed with this bottomless brunch, food still top quality but small portions and no repeat orders, red wine very poor quality, still the music was good and loud so dancing on tables would take hunger away!!

Went here with another couple. Food ok but portions very small. We weren’t expecting anything brill but wine was less than average. The big thing was the music! It was like being in a disco and quite honestly spoilt the lunch. We won’t be going again!!!

Had a fantastic birthday meal. It was my first visit here and I’d been told it was lovely. It didn’t disappoint the food was fantastic and very flavoursome. The only dish I was not so keen on was the pizza base. However, 2 out of the 4 of us enjoyed it. The wines, cocktails and service were also all perfect. Had a meal for my birthday which the restaurant did not know but bought out a sparkler on my dessert with a happy birthday after hearing my family sing to me. It was a nice personal touch and showed attention to their customers. The food was delicious and service was great. Would definitely recommend.

This is the first time that we have eaten here as a family. We love eating out and were delighted to find such a lovely restaurant. The food was delicious - good quality ingredients cooked perfectly, our waitress was delightful and the surroundings relaxed and pleasant. Will definitely be back!!!

Enjoyable meal cooked to a very good standard accompanied by quality wine with friendly efficient service from Lucy. Overall pleasing experience.

We eat here as often as we can, if it isn’t for a special occasion we make it a date night, always our go to place as the food, staff and atmosphere are amazing!

Daughter in Law's birthday - Superb food, even better service. Slightly expensive but WELL worth it. Milena couldn't have been more helpful and clearly knew details of the menu by heart (Wife likes spicy food but not TOO spicy) - will be back!

We were welcomed at the door to tell us the window table we requested was not available but we had be allocated the table next door . This was managed well and we were introduced to Marvin who was our server for the night .
