Our favourite restaurant in Dunstable/Luton area. The food is 10/10⭐️

Highly recommended for the pizzas and pasta. Very cozy place, love the pictures on the walls of all Italians celebs. This place is a Dunstable treasure.

**Edit: I do NOT wish I was still with my ex boyfriend. Also, I’m now vegan and there aren’t any vegan options for pizza.** I user to come here all the time with my ex boyfriend. The restaurant may not look amazing, but the pizzas are delicious. I wish I was still with my ex and lived near the area, just so I could still eat here!

A really lovely Italian restaurant, focused on pasta and pizza. The food is delicious, with excellent vegetarian choices, and a good wine selection. The waitresses are great, really friendly and helpful, and prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend a 'Bello Blu' pasta with Dolce Latte blue cheese sauce, and the best Tiramisu I've ever had. Get it to take away if you're too full for pudding.

The Food was lovely and great service

Well priced and very nice. We went out for dinner, I had the giant mushroom and he had the bruschetta. For mains I had the tagaletti and he had the meat feast pizza, which was very good. We took home a tiramisu which was recommended by another table

I never been in a Italian restaurant in Dunstable and this made me terrifying and curious at the same time. From the news paper article, I gave it a go, and I was surprised. I loved the Italian menu to be written in Italian and in English, it shows some heritage 🤩 and original Italia dishes. I had tortellini which I haven't had it for a while, they were very good with a nice sauce. I will definitely come back!!!

Three of us met up and ate here prior to a show at the Grove Theatre (not really walking distance if you're on a schedule but coming here turned out to be definitely worth the short drive) Donatello's has a comprehensive main menu but we were drawn to the special offer on the blackboard: margherita pizza plus three toppings and a side of fries or garlic bread all for £10. A good choice of toppings ensured that our final pizzas were very different from eachother and we each found a combination we liked. With a thick crust to get a decent chew on and a decent portion size, we each had some to take away and enjoy later. Quality cannot be faulted and we all felt that it was excellent value. The drinks weren't quite the same value, one drink each (two of which were soft drinks) took our combined bill from £30 up to £47, but overall we were satisfied with Donatello's and would return when next in Dunstable.

I've been coming to donatellos since I was fourteen years old, I'm 45 now. The food has changed slightly over the years as you'd expect, but the standard hasn't! Always a friendly atmosphere, and wonderful service. I've heard people say it's expensive at donatellos, yet I've seen dishes that aren't even in the same ball park served at harvesters for more. In my opinion, if you love food then you don't really have a problem paying for quality. I've tried absolutely everything on their menu, but my go to dish is the penne octopus. If you love seafood you'll love this. I never have it without their amazing garlic bread and cheese. Other dishes I can recommend are the al forno, alfredo, lasagne, and the spaghetti donatellos. It's a beautifully rustic little place, and will remind people who have been to Italy just what Italian restaurants are supposed to look like.

My date and I had a lovely time. If I wasn't on a heath kick I would have eaten far more potentially, but what I did have was delicious. Helpful, kind waitress. Would come again.

Tiny restaurant so make sure you book ahead. Really good food. Friendly and helpful service but it took quite a while for food to be served. We loved the Jekyll and Hyde option to share our food half and half.

Had our first takeaway last night from Donatello’s Dunstable North and I must say what a delight. From my first call checking if they delivered to our area to receiving our order. The young lady who answered my call was so pleasant she took my order despite suffering with a cold checked delivery time for us and even delivered our pizza’s and what a beautiful meal it was, piping hot, tasty, best pizza I’ve ever had, really authentic and will now only be going to Donatello’s for my takeaways, we are planning to go to the restaurant and have a meal because if the pizza and staff we have met are anything to go by it’s going to be a wonderful experience. Awful The food was bland, The chicken kn the pasta wasnt fresh and the restaurant was dirty with cobwebs hanging from the ceiling, sticky floors Really disappointed with our experience

Thank you for an amazing meal with my friends tonight, the chef did an outstanding job in presenting us all with fabulous food which was hot and delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive and had our drinks topped up and always served with a smile. Will be returning and recommending!

You simply have to go! Do not hesitate!!! Food, ambience, owner all brilliant. A real find and genuinely typically Italian. Small , intimate and music, photos, decor all add to the overall experience. Chef to be commended. I have not had such an authentic pizza outside of Italy! Excellent.

Friendly staff members, excellent tasty food and a much better experience than visiting pizza hut. However the pizza base was hard to cut without assistance and the staff did take the meals away to be sliced up in the kitchen. The staff all appear to be British and not Italian at all. The drinks are really expensive and the kitchen has no red onion. Apart from those niggles it was a pleasant experience. Would visit again for special occasions.

The food here is delicious and proper authentic Italian fare! Tasty, filling and always welcoming friendly staff. Been eating in Dons for twenty years and its still one of my most favourite local restaurants! Never fails to deliver. Would eat here every night f I could afford it!

Donatello’s was amazing. The food was absolutely delicious and you can tell that the finest ingredients were used. Service was really friendly and we really get at home when coming for dinner. Will be going again soon!

We went to Donatello’s as a family under the war out to help out scheme. We were welcomed and given our table. Nice chat with the lovely waitress and our order and drinks taken. We did wait quite a while for our food but that’s because it’s clearly cooked fresh, we all enjoyed our food and was delicious. A lovely little resteraunt, would be good if it was in the town centre would get plenty of business

I have now ordered several times from Donatello’s and have been to their restaurant a couple of times and every time I have failed to find fault in anything. The food is always fresh and delicious. I ordered food for delivery tonight and despite being outside of the delivery catchment, for a small charge they were happy to deliver to me. The delivery driver was very friendly and delivered with exceptional service. Definitely recommend

Myself and my wife had two really tasty pizzas last night at donatellos, I had the Hawaiian and it was lovely,theres a really cosy atmosphere at the restaurant and the waitress who looked after us was fantastic.would highly recommend🍕

Ended up at Donatellos tonight as the restaurant next door was closed. Delighted this was the case. Felt like a very homely place to eat, very friendly staff too :) Had the cheesy garlic mushrooms, more cheese than garlic, but very tasty and for main course had the Risotto con Bolognese - a great mixture that Ive not seen in many places before. Was absolutely delicious, as was the house wine. Accidental visit, but they boast of being open for 38 years (and counting) and I can see why!!!

Enjoyed a pleasant enough meal here - kept it simple, olives to start, pizza with a beer and a coffee to finish but nearly £50 for the two of us. Just thought it was a bit more expensive than I was expecting, and it's not even in the town!

Little restaurant does take away and sit down. Good food at reasonable prices. Steps to front of building, staff lovely and cheerful. Service is good and quick. Definitely go back

Visited with family. Nice quiet place. We had the salami and prosciutto salad to start. Okay starter, an avocado would compliment the salad well. I had cherry kisses cocktail to drink and this was fine however could have done with a bit of garnish ( ie an umbrella, slice of lemon etc) to make it LOOK like an appealing cocktail. Pizza was okay although a bit salty for my liking.

Mid week meal with friends - great menu choice. Good deals mid week 2 courses for a tenner. Service was good and the food was delicious - homemade. It was a very hot evening - we sat by the doors but could have done with air conditioning or a fan. Service was good. Restaurant is a bit dark and dated, however we were told they are just about to start redecorating. Would definitely go back as great value for money mid week.

If you like Italian food go there, nice tasty food at a good price would definitely recommend. I've been going there since the 80s and never had a bad meal. Tiramasu is lovely.

I’m astonished that this restaurant can have so many 4 & 5 stars, we stopped by here & wished we hadn’t! Pizza had a really thick base, tomato tasted cheap, the olives tasted weeks old & sloppy! We paid £9.95 for a bowl of spaghetti with tomato sauce that was just a joke! Ordered fries & received what looked & tasted like a small bowl of frozen oven chunky chips! No olive oil with meal! This is not an Italian restaurant!!

We have been a few times now and never been disappointed. Quick service and great atmosphere. The background music is "Tamla Motown" & Soul music which is an added bonus. Last night I started with White Bait (plenty of them) with a salad. This was enjoyable. I had for a main course "Pasta Octopussi" which consisted of Octopus, squid, clams, prawns & tuna with a spicy tomato sauce with a Penne pasta. Very filling and very tasty (more please). Plenty of it on my plate too. Customary beers were Sicillian lager, which was very smooth to the palate and Moorish. (5.8% percent). We all enjoyed our meals and would recommend this place. Very full at the end of the meal :)

Been coming here for years. Usually for special occasions or date night with my partner as it is always delicious and the size makes it ideal for small groups or romantic meals. Staff always try to look after you and any special requests have never been an issue. I don't normally like pasta dishes so have often ordered pizza which is lovely and thin and crispy, but recently have been won over by the tonno al forno. Really yummy.

We have visited twice in the last month and thoroughly enjoyed our starters and mains both times. It has a nice selection for vegetarians and non-vegetarians. The restaurant has a nostalgic and cosy feel to it and we like the photos on the walls. The waitress is welcoming and attentive and the food is very reasonably priced. We will definitely be back.

The food was vile,bland and grey.The restaurant interior was ugly and something I’d expect in an old person home not restaurant!! When I asked one of the waitresses for ice she spoke under her breath and said “for f**** sake” she looked underage.disgusting service,would not recommend to anyone.Surprised they’re still open and functional due to all the poor reviews.The owners must have no shame!!

Me and a friend got the Jekyll and Hyde deal which was buy 2 mains and get half each, I am beyond full, and the quality of food was very high. Very tasty pizza and the garlic pasta was so good, chips were also very good. Overall very happy with the service and quality of food! Young lady with the red hair was very nice!

My husband, myself and son fancied something different from the norm! So googled restaurant in dunstable We came apon this small but wonderful italian restaurant. Welcoming,homely and cosy. Food was lovely. Lovely relaxed evening.and such reasonable prices. Will definately visit again

We visited for my husbands birthday in December & had such a lovely evening. There were 11 of us (friends & family) so pre booked & pre ordered our food. Michael was really friendly on the phone & everything came out perfectly. The service was brilliant & we didn’t feel at all rushed. Delicious food too! Thanks very much for having us :)

A really nice small Italian Restaurant serving great food from an excellent Chef. The service when busy can be a bit slow, but for sure the food is worth waiting for. The restaurant is very cosy adding to a great atmosphere. Well worth a visit.

Absolutely wonderful. My niece decided that this is where she wanted to go for a family meal for her 21st and we're all so glad she did :) It's only small, but cosy and the photos of the Italian stars over the ages were great. Whose food isn't going to taste great when you're looking at a young Al Pacino, Robert de Niro in dome of the greatest movie scenes of all time? The staff were fantastic. My partner popped out to see the Chef to thank him for a fantastic meal we were all so impressed (and full!) and the service was excellent - in fact my son fell in love with the waitress she was such a sweetheart. We'll all be going again, that's for sure!

This delightful Pizzeria is Family owned and run and has been operational for 35 years! The food here is superb,home made and just so very well presented!

Lovely little place. All of us loved the food. 4yr, 8yr, 41yr and 44yr. It suited us all. Just what we needed after a hard day walking round the zoo in the cold and rain.

We went to this pizza restaurant every week when we first met 20yrs ago and had some of the most fantastic fun nights. We stopped going as we had a few bad meals and the wine got a little bit rough....even for us. We decided to give it another go this week (on a Wednesday) and it was like going back in time, not much has changed. The starters weren't brilliant but not bad and the pizza was good. I agree with another review and the toilets could do with seeing a cloth but all in all it was a fun experience and a case of 'it is what it is' and we would most likely go back again.

The restaurant is small and rustic, toilets aren't great but I can't say I really noticed much because the food was really great and the jugs of cocktails were yummy. It was a great birthday meal.

3 Stars about covers it the food was OK but nothing special the services was like popping into a cafe we were offered 1 type of wine and just about 1 type of beer which of course was larger... silly us.

Went for dinner last night. The service was perfect the starters, pizza and pasta were all excellent. The Garlic Pizza Base is fantastic. Way better than Pizza Express.

Dull and outdated decor, the toilets are awful and actually have a normal bathroom towel to wipe your hands on! Yuk! I have been a couple of times but won't bother again. You expect Italian food to be tasty but it's bland . My friend went recently and didn't finish all of her pizza, she asked for it to be boxed up and it was wrapped in a bit of foil and put in a flimsy plastic carrier bag! very professional, not. Could be so much better.

I was quite excited when my family decided to come here for dinner as I had heard quite good things regarding the restaurant and I was bit disappointed. The service was nothing special, the food didn't have a lot of flavour and when I needed to go to the toilets, I was sorely disappointed when I saw the state of the toilets - I decided to hold it in because they were that dirty.
